The entire issue of gender preference and people being open to being transgender seems like a simple matter of personal preference. After all, why should it bother anyone what somebody else chooses to do? Even if they choose to do something that seems rather absurd, why not have a “live and let live” attitude? Don’t we need more acceptance of others? Isn’t the idea of personal freedom more important than other considerations?

The answer to these questions is not a simple yes or no. There needs to be nuance. First of all, there are many people today who have “chosen” to label themselves as a transgender and do it in their own private way. They don’t get in the way of others and force the idea on anyone. They are truly “live and let live” people. They do not pose a major problem to anyone. One can debate if what they think about themselves is legitimate or not, but they are not bothering anybody. The problem is the LGBT pride movement. The idea of people taking their private lives and gender preferences and posting it on every social media site and basically forcing everyone to accept their own opinions as legitimate – that is the core of the problem. There is nothing wrong with somebody who believes that the entire concept of gender preference is a sham. This is not a simple matter to prove one way or another, but Ben Shapiro sure does a great job staking out the anti-gender preference line.

Anyone who believes we need to be more accepting of others needs to understand that forcing all women athletes to accept transgender male-turned females to compete against them is a very non-accepting approach. Forcing everyone to accept that men and women are options that exist in the world and not G-d determined and unchanging is a very non-accepting approach. Things may very well boomerang if the madness continues.

“Every single leader who supports the occupation of Palestine….” – then it went downward from there. The message then went to the point of direct physical threats on the leaders of the State of Israel. It is very important to expose those who threaten the lives of people anywhere in the world. Rather than stifling conversation, what goes on in this debate is a far better alternative.


This Islamist is not an exceptional voice. He is typical of many anti-Jewish voices that genuinely support physical violence against the leaders of the Jewish State. They say it plainly. Physical violence in order to promote political goals will never be OK.

The core of this entire debate though should be whether or not there is truth to the idea that a “Palestinian” nation exists at all as a distinct entity. Actually, this is a fiction that was invented only in the last few decades. Arabs never claimed in 1948 that they were a distinct entity that existed for generations. That began only in the early 1970’s as a tactical method to pressure the State of Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria.


So, were there actually Arabs who lived in the Land of Israel before 1948? Yes. How many? Tens of thousands were in the areas that became part of the Jewish State in 1948. A few hundred thousand total lived in cities such as Gaza, Ramallah, Hebron, and Shechem. Nearly all of these Arab cities swelled in the early 1900’s when the Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel brought job opportunities to Arabs from all over the Middle East. The Jewish community was also no matter than a few hundred thousand in the mid 1930’s. But before and after World War II, this number grew rapidly to around 600,000. But in the 19th century, and certainly in the early 19th century, there were very few Jews, very few Arabs, and very few Christians. The land was largely empty. But the idea of hundreds of thousands of Arabs who are an ancient people in the Land of Israel who were kicked out by Jews is simply untrue. The same goes for the Jewish people. Despite an age-old connection to the Land, there were no more than tens of thousands of Jews until the early 20th century. Israel was not built over any previous ancient Arab lands. Neither were the Arab cities largely built over Jewish cities. Most were built on wastelands that stood empty for thousands of years. Let the debates continue.

The Iranian threat has been growing steadily for decades. During most of those decades, the State of Israel has been blessed with a Prime Minister who understands clearly how serious the threat is. He learned one the most important lessons of World War II. The lesson that when dictators threaten to annihilate other people or countries or races, they mean it. The only thing that will absolutely stop them is the force of military deterrence. Can economic pressure also accomplish this. Hopefully. But only if there is military deterrence that goes along with it.

The Secure America Now website takes a stand on many of the controversial national security issues of the day. They produced this short clip and other effective messages on national security. On Israel, they claim the following: “The U.S.-Israel relationship us under attack like never before from radical anti-Semites on the left. Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib regularly espouse rhetoric that is outright anti-Semitic and anti-Israel. ”

They boldly call on their supporters to stand with America’s greatest ally. The difference between Benjamin Netanyahu and so many other world leaders is the strong historical understanding that Benjamin Netanyahu has. He may not understand the Iranian Mullahs, but he knows well how to deal with their threats. He uses simple Western logic to make smart decisions, but he employs an understanding of Middle Eastern logic when judging Israel’s adversaries. Israel and the world are truly blessed to have a leader in the Middle East who can stand up, lead, and deliver.

Arab Humour Spells More Trouble For The Palestinians

Since time immemorial jokes , wit , sarcasm and cartoons have been used by members of  ethnic groups  as a weapon to mock , hurt and delegitimise those belonging to other  ethnic groups.  Ethnic groups have often united structurally  to achieve the same objectives using the same methodology.  At times the intensity of such non violent armoury has created the conditions
that ultimately conclude in violence . Ranging from a bar room brawl  to a holocaust , one individual or structured organised groups of individuals  from a tribe or ethnicity mocking another individual or minority group representing a different tribe or ethnicity , history bears the scars of the consequences.
Cruel Nazi satire on Jews in journals and posters  and similar satire and demonisation of the minority Tutsis by Hutus via radio broadcasts both ended in genocides .

The history and logic behind  racial, national, cultural and ethnic humour is a complicated subject  and
therefore I shall allude only to a few  raw examples in order to explain the reasons why the  Palestinians are now the subject of jokes, satire and mockery throughout the Arab world.
Growing up as a child in the late fifties, early sixties in the United Kingdom,  Jews, Germans, Irish, Scots, Italians , West Indians and Indo - Pakistanis  were the most frequently identified cultures targeted  by comedians. The Germans bore the brunt of British anger in children's  comics depicting them as evil huns.  In the United States it was mainly Poles and naturally in Greece it was Turks and in Turkey it was the Greeks and the Kurds. In Korea it was the Japanese and vice versa.  History , nationalism , geopolitical and social economic  issues are the usual  causes of one culture or ethnicity making fun at another. Unfortunately , and quite disgracefully in the UK , the physically and mentally disabled were  also previously a natural target of ' humour . '
History verifies that racial humour  has resulted in extreme consequences for exposed  minorities where the system of justice has ignored efforts to challenge the racism of the perpetrators. Again this area of the subject matter is worthy of a volume of work and not appropriate for this article but I need to refer to the horrors of racial humour in order to explain but not to legitimise it.
Ironically the hypocrisy of the recipients also fed into the racism during the era of my childhood which allowed such racism on  television and radio channels an elongated lifespan.  If a member of an ethnic group mocked that ethnic group, which comedians frequently  did, he ( rarely a she )  was considered a wit. However, if a member of an ethnic group told jokes about members of a different ethnic group he was considered a racist.
Racist humour aimed at Jews has several root causes - Christ killers, physical characteristics , cupidity as depicted by Shakespeare's Shylock or Dicken's Fagin, and the chosen race syndrome are just some examples. Mocking Italians started during WW2 with the perception that they lacked courage and mocking black people and Pakistanis was fear of the unknown and pure nationalism originating from British colonialism . Mocking the Irish was a more interesting phenomenon as it gained momentum  just after WW2 and paradoxically  the perpetrators were mainly the Irish themselves. This needs further explanation .
Despite Ireland being supposedly  'neutral' in WW2, the Irish economy was in freefall through years of total mismanagement and corruption and many Irish from both the pro British Northern Ireland and the anti British, Southern Ireland came over to England seeking work immediately after the war had ended.  Thousands of British had been killed in WW2 and their cities bombed and destroyed. A major era of reconstruction was necessary but without the sufficient manpower needed. Hence the influx of the Irish and those from the West Indies. Those new immigrants needed housing in a country which had suffered devastating loss of housing through bombings and were met with signs in the windows such as ' No Irish No Blacks.'  Why was this?
Let's examine the Irish negativity as an example. The Irish authorities at the time had managed to successfully hide the Church and orphanage  paedophilia and institutionalised child abuse for years but were not so fortunate in their attempts to hide the Irish support for the Nazis. Indeed they were happy to flaunt such pro Nazi emotions. Irrespective that the Irish had  helped the Allies ( as well as the Nazis ) and many Irish joined the allies in fighting the Nazis, the fact that Ireland had behaved with such duplicity was sufficient to create anti Irish feelings within the UK.
The Irish  under the DeValera administration inexplicably were the only country in the world to offer condolences on the death of Hitler and compounded their pro Nazi leanings by allowing scores of Nazis to escape justice and even flouted some Nazis publicly in Irish society  ( Albert Folens and Pieter Menton as just two examples  ) and allowing them to live freely and openly.
Erecting large monuments to Nazi collaborators in Ireland ( Sean Russell's in Fairview Park, Dublin as just one example  ) only exacerbated  British hostility. However, this alone was not the root cause of the origination of the racial hostility towards the Irish although such actions would have been undoubtedly sufficient . Those Irishmen and women who helped the Allies during WW2, survived and returned to Ireland were treated with such hostility that their lives were ruined. Apart from the physical and verbal attacks, they were barred from working for Government, Government suppliers and contractors and were not allowed to receive Government pensions. Many left Ireland and some went to the UK seeking work.

Many found work in the construction industry and a high profile minority  became comedians working the pubs,  theatres and clubs . And here is where they, the Irish who had been so badly treated by their fellow countrymen returned the favour in the way  they knew best. By mocking them and British comedians leveraged up on the anti - Irish phenomenon .
For  thirty or more years anti Irish jokes became mainstream and jokes about other ethnicities  and nationalities gave way in the racist humour league tables where the Irish held an uncomfortable monopoly. As referred to earlier,  in the United States the Polish community held this award for a similar period. Through boredom and legislation such humour has virtually been eliminated .
Not so in the Arab world and this time religious affiliations, geopolitics and social and economic re - evaluations  are having a very negative impact on those absurdly identifying as Palestinians - a made up culture that has no history . Research can find no evidence of any war, battle or conflict fought by those identifying as indigenous Palestinians from 12000 BC to 1964 CE nor the name of any indigenous Palestinian leader, King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Writer, Warrior, Wheelwright , Doctor,  Physician, Tinker, Tailor , Soldier, Sailor , Butcher, Baker nor Candlestick - maker.There is no historical evidence of any Palestinian currency nor any  building constructed by indigenous Palestinians. No ne of the scores of noted itinerants  to the area  from the seventh century to the 1920's wrote about an indigenous Palestinian culture nor referred to what the Arabic speaking peoples of the region called the Palestinians as there is no sound for the letter 'P' in Arabic.  The nearest would be Filastin which is the Arabic pronunciation of Philistines  - a people who came from Greece and became extinct hundreds or years before Christ.  However, this is not the reason alone why many in the Arab world are now mocking the Palestinians in the same way the British and Irish  mocked the Irish.  Religion politics and realignment of relationships within both the Arab and Muslim world have created divisions that previously united the total.

Israel has formed political, economic and military alliances with several Arab Sunni nations to counter the Iranian Shia threat. The Palestinians since their inception in 1964 were totally reliant on the economic support of those countries now bonding so closely with Israel and astoundingly have turned their duplicitous backs on those countries by supporting the Iranian Shia block. Incomprehensibly the Palestinians suffered numerous atrocities at the hands of the Shia in Iraq after the fall of Saddam when Iranian and Iraqi backed Shia militias ethnically cleansed those Palestinians from Iraq having slaughtered hundreds. More recently Iranian backed militias have supported Assad's Syria who have also butchered and incarcerated thousand of Palestinians in Syria.
And yet Palestinian support is currently firmly with the Shia bloc who in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria have been opposed to the Sunnis resulting in thousands of deaths and ethnic cleansing .
Other Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and most recently Sudan and Morocco are forming cultural and economic alliances with Israel and even reforming their anti Jewish education curricula . The Palestinians are flummoxed and their support base within the Arab world is on a diluting trajectory. And unsurprisingly Arab humour is being directed at them in the cafes of London and Lebanon, at the dinner tables in Dubai and Casablanca , Cairo and Khartoum . Arab TV is incredibly openly hostile to the Palestinians whose duplicitous and unappreciative behaviour is being exposed daily. This is being accentuated as the Shia Sunni divide intensifies.
The Palestinian cause is no longer uppermost within Arab political circles as those countries who have started relationships with Israel reap the economic and military benefits. As examples I shall relay to my followers and readers just a couple of examples of Arab humour firmly directed at the Palestinians. Here goes and they are not my jokes.

An Indian , a Turk and a Palestinian are sitting on a construction crane in Qatar  high up from the ground . It is lunchtime and Krishnan the Indian  opens his lunch box and shouts ..
'' Chicken curry ... again chicken  curry..for years she makes me chicken  curry  ..I can't stand it any more  '' and he jumps from the crane and commits suicide.
On seeing this Ahmet the Turk  opens his lunch box and cries in despair ..'' lamb kebabs every day lamb kebabs  ,'' and in a copycat act of despair follows his colleague Krishnan , jumps from the crane and similarly kills himself.
Yasser the Palestinian  is left and he opens his lunch box and cries in disbelief '' Olives, goats cheese and tomato again ...'' .
I hate it, I can't stand it anymore. ''  He follows the actions of his co - workers, jumps from the crane and kills himself.
At their respective funerals the wives are in a state of disbelief . They are all stricken with grief....Krishnan's wife screams ' I didn't realise he hated curry so much...if he had told me I would have packed some other food....''
Similarly Ahmet's wife is in shock   ''  I thought he loved lamb kebabs .he never complained , never...''
Yasser's  wife is confused........'' I really don't  understand it....he made his own lunch....''
Now I never said it was a good joke. And just one more which is truly ironic and doing the rounds amongst the Sunni ( maybe Shia too ) Arab middle classes.

Apparently the jokes are funnier when told in Arabic . There is much truth in irony and it is abundantly obvious to all interested in Middle East politics that the Palestinian issue does not command the saturation coverage it once attracted despite the efforts of some global broadcasters such as the BBC and CNN constantly attempting to portray the only Jewish State in a negative light.
The successful efforts of the Trump Administration to connect Israel with the Arab world continue on that upward trajectory despite a new US Administration. Commerce and defence concerns have broken the solid support within the Arab world the Palestinians once enjoyed. This in turn has made the BDS movement insignificant and the EU Jew haters clutching at straws.
Arab contempt for the Palestinians is on the same upward trajectory as the Arab relationship cementation with Israel and this currently seems unstoppable.
Running parallel with the Palestinian fun poking is the more subtle acceptance of Israel within the Arab world in Government controlled media output and more significantly as alluded to earlier, a renewal of the role of Jewish history within the Arab education system .

The third Temple will look similar to the first 2 Temples. It will be in the exact same location in Jerusalem. It will be very large – around 10 stories high, with a wide open courtyard. There will be many sounds, aromas, and beautiful things to see inside of the Temple. These are all in order to arouse the senses towards a lofty mindset. The Temple was and will be on the earth. But it is really a “home” for God on the earth. So, it is a kind of half worldly and half-other worldly place of worship for the Jewish people. Most of the work in the Temple is performed by the Priests and Levites.

The First Two Temples
The first two Temples stood for four hundred and twenty years and four hundred and ten years respectively. But there were far more miracles and holiness in the first Temple. Solomon built the 1st Temple. The 2nd Temple was built by Ezra and Nehemiah, and then further expanded by the Romans. For much of the 2nd Temple Era, the Priesthood was actually corrupt. The Talmud recounts that those people who remembered the 1st Temple, and who were privileged to see the rebuilding of the 2nd Temple, wept at the contrast.

The goal of the Temple is to connect the hearts, minds, and actions of the Jewish people to God in Heaven. It is in order to bring Godliness down to the earth via a strong and vibrant connection with God. Then the Jewish people, God’s Chosen People, are supposed to serve as a living example of a nation that lives a Holy existence. That is the ultimate method through which the Temple can uplift the entire world.


We may feel very far away from the rebuilding of the Temple. But, massive historical shifts often occur much more rapidly than people could have imagined. The Jewish people were never as downtrodden as a people then during the era of the Holocaust and World War II. A mere 3 years later, the Jewish people were experiencing a miraculous rebirth with the founding of the State of Israel. The 3rd Temple seems like it is just a dream today. It may be come a reality sooner than we expect.

Finally, a progressive Democrat who supports Israel
If only more Democrats spoke like this about the Jewish state. Both parties should strongly support Israel, and sadly, many Democrats have been pulling away from that support. It's nice to hear a speech like this.
Representative Torres is not a Jew. He is not a Republican. He is a progressive Democrat, and listen to this – he supports Israel! This would not be newsworthy 10, 20, or 30 years ago. But to be a Democrat, a progressive Democrat, who will stand up in Congress and support Israel today, has gone out of style. The new-age Democrats are now under many more influences that view the story in Israel from the false progressive prism of “oppressed vs oppressor”, “occupation”, “colonialization” and as a conflict about human rights.


The Jewish state of Israel is not an occupier, because one can not be an occupier in one’s own homeland. Hence, we are not colonizers, we are decolonizing, since we are resettling our ancestral homeland. And finally, we are not oppressing anybody. In truth, we have made an amazing life for the Arab Muslims who live with us in Israel. It is the Palestinian Authority and Hamas that are oppressing their own people under their authority in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Yet, many, if not most, of the Democratic progressives today ignore all these facts and instead have turned on Israel.


And regarding human rights, Israel’s record is better than any other country in the entire Middle East on this – no matter what the distorted lies thrown by anti-Israel propagandists. But the heart of the conflict in the Middle East is not at all about human rights. Ask any ten Arabs in Israel what they care about most and human rights won’t make it to the top of the list. If human rights, such as medical care, freedom of movement, and freedom of religion are what matter to an Arab living in Israel, they will probably fall within the growing minority of pro-Israeli Arabs.

The conflict between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East is not about land either. Actually, the conflicts in the Middle East are not even about Jews and Arabs necessarily. Most of the conflicts, bloodshed, and wars are between different groups of Arabs. In Syria alone, over the last decade, more than ten times as many Arabs have been killed in an on-going Civil War than anywhere else in the entire region.

The Middle East is a region that is filled with religious tension. The Arabs who fight against each other are often Sunni-Shiite battles. The Arabs who oppose Israel’s existence and are willing to fight against it are driven by religious passions. Israel is the beacon of light in the sea of religious fundamentalism. Israel’s Army is called the Israel Defense Forces, as that is what it does. Israel never starts wars, but defends itself against aggression. It even occasionally helps it’s neighboring Arab countries against aggression by other countries.


But more than any other proof, the economically based peace agreements over the last year that Israel signed with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain proved what Israel has argued for decades – peace must be predicated on peace – not on an exchange of Land. The big change has begun. In the coming years, things may very well improve, unless the United States and Europe free up Iran to bully around all of it’s neighbors with nuclear blackmail.

There is a problem of extremism in the United States of America. It is the problem of silencing nearly anybody that I don’t agree with. This is a problem that used to be a fringe issue. But it now dominates many centers of power – even in the Military. If Catholics and Evangelicals are now being highlighted as extremists to beware of, then there is something very wrong going on in the United States Military.

What is so ridiculous is that so many of those who say we need to “start a conversation” about this or that, are the same people who are silencing any conversation by those they disagree with. Actually, what is needed is not more conversation. What is needed is less shutting of mouths. What is needed is genuine freedom to express one’s viewpoints without fear of being labeled and canceled. What most people today are scared of is that they will lose their jobs or be canceled by their surroundings if they don’t toe the line of political correctness. This is a horrible norm that must be dealt with. How? Not just through more conversation, but through laws that are enacted that rid our society of cancel culture’s cancerous impact.

Once a person who is against homosexuality – for whatever religious or non-religious reasons – cannot express their opinions without being labeled a homophobic extremist, the world becomes dangerous. Once a person who is for homosexuality cannot express their opinions freely without being labeled a pejorative term, the world becomes dangerous too. The free exchange of ideas in an open and non-PC environment is what is needed in order for everyone to have the freedom to think, vote, and live as they see fit.

An ambulance bearing Prince William’s name is set to begin active service in Israel later this month after final checks on the vehicle were completed in the UK.
It was dedicated in honour of the Duke of Cambridge’s trip to Israel in June 2018 for what was the first official visit by a senior royal to the country.
Magen David Adom UK chief executive Daniel Burger said it will be “very special to see an ambulance bearing the name of His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge on the streets of Israel saving lives.

Even though the right-wing won the election, Prime Minister Netanyahu is having an extremely hard time putting together a coalition government. What would happen to a person in the United States if they chose to sell land to a Jewish person? Nothing. What would happen to a person in Russia if they sold land to a Jewish person. In nearly every neighborhood in the entire Western world, it is not dangerous for a Jew to purchase land. It may be a dangerous neighborhood, and their real estate investment may not be a wise choice. But, making the purchase would not be a dangerous transaction. Not so in one area of the world, the area that is dominated by the Palestinian Authority in ancient Judea and Samaria.

In Judea and Samaria, the dream to destroy the Jewish State is alive and well. It has existed long before there was any dispute over the lands of Judea and Samaria. Actually, even before the State of Israel existed, the Arabs who immigrated to the Land of Israel under the Turks and the British, were always filled with hopes to throw the Jews into the Mediterranean. There was no decade from 1900 and onward that was not filled with hundreds of attempts to squelch the Jewish resettlement of the indigenous lands of the Jewish people.

During World War II, the Mufti of Jerusalem was a close ally of Adolf Hitler and joined with the German attempt to take over the world and rid the world of the Jewish people. So much has happened and changed since then. But the essential dream of so many of the Arabs in the Middle East has not changed. They hope to change the world to one where no Jews are living in the Land of Israel. There is no other logical explanation for the seemingly absurd way that any Arab who even broaches the idea of selling land to a Jew is treated.

On the flip side, there is a growing number of Arabs who live in the State of Israel who are voting for Zionist parties. They want to live in Israel because they understand well that their alternatives outside of Israel are horrible. In Syria, hundreds of thousands of Syrians have been killing each other in a Civil War that has lasted for almost a decade. Jordan always seems like a peaceful option, but it is actually a very unstable dictatorship that may change at any time. Egypt is struggling financially, but is actually going in the right direction. Only in Israel, can an Arab receive top of the line medical care from Jewish and Arab doctors who work hand in hand to treat everyone equally. So there you have it. If an Arab would try to sell land to a Jewish doctor, they may be tortured for that by fellow Arabs. But if an Arab, any Arab is ill, they can walk right in to any Israeli hospital, and receive top of the line treatment that is paid for by the Israeli government.

During the first year or two of the Obama administration, many were trying to figure out if Barack Obama was indeed hostile to the State of Israel or if he simply was not pro-Israel. He barely had any political experience to extrapolate his future policies from. But, very quickly, he made good on his pledge to be a transformative president. He did not want to leave the world as it was by the end of his administration. That is indeed what he did. What he did locally with healthcare, his signature policy within the confines of the United States, he did with the Iran agreement, his most controversial policy outside the borders of the United States.

When Barack Obama realized that he had much more room to maneuver on foreign policy issues than on domestic issues, Obama unleashed his controversial pro-Muslim ideologies on the Middle East. His speech in Cairo made major waves in the entire Middle East. Egypt’s stable non-radical leadership found themselves suddenly under siege by anti-Government protesters – many of whom were radical Muslim brotherhood members. Ultimately, Egypt was led temporarily by a radical Muslim group. Fortunately, that did not last long and Egypt returned to a more moderate mindset. However, in other countries, especially Syria and Iraq became countries filled with radical Islamic militants fighting incessantly against each other. ISIS became the #1 concern of the entire Middle East. The scary part of this video is that it displays the troubling fact that the Obama administration became the leading funder of terror in the Middle East via the Iran agreement.

Of course, Obama explained this away with language filled with appeasement. But, if anyone needs clarification on this issue, let them just listen to the same refrain that Iranian leaders have been saying for years since Donald Trump’s elections – “Get rid of the sanctions.” The Iranian leadership enjoyed the Obama siesta when they were able to get away with more and more of their nuclear plans. If the Trump administration policies are followed up with further appeasement from the Biden administration, then Israel will have to take matters into their own hands once again. Israel will not sit and allow an existential threat to grow and grow without doing anything about it.

Corona Test
A new Israeli COVID test developed at Sheba Medical Center can detect coronavirus in a fluid sample in just 20 seconds. The handheld SpectraLIT machine received EU approval just two weeks ago and is expected to help Europe return to international air travel. The test is inexpensive and more accurate than the fast antigen tests that are beginning to be used in some airports.
Cornea Implant
In January, A 78-year old blind man got his sight back with the implant of an artificial cornea, the first such operation in the world. The artificial cornea, designed by Ra’anana-based CorNeat Vision, was implanted in surgery performed at Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva. Upon removal of bandages, the patient was immediately able to read text and recognize family members.
The test was the first of a clinical trial which will hopefully lead to a new medical process that can rehabilitate the vision of corneally blind patients with a relatively simple implantation procedure. (JPost / VFI News)

President Biden is harming America, the Middle East, and really the world. As a major power in the world, America has to wake up and see reality. And sadly, Biden and his admin seem to be so, so far removed from the truth.
The US is prepared to remove sanctions against Iran. If Biden brings the US back to the Obama-era deals, then the world is about to take a major strategic blunder. General Jack Keane explains that Biden’s foreign policy team is basically a rehashing of the Obama foreign policy team. The Congress is against turning back the clock. So then who is driving the policy decisions that are so unpopular? Gen. Keane believes that it is the Europeans, namely, England, France, and Germany are driving this return to the deal.

Does Biden understand that this decision may very well be akin to the Chamberlain appeasement attitude that brought nothing but aggression? Does Biden understand that there has been a major realignment in the Middle East in the last four years? There are multiple Arab countries who have made the fateful choice and have placed their future with the State of Israel and the West. They oppose Iran’s military might more than anything else and expect the United States to be a more reliable ally in the fight to keep radical Islamic expansionism from spreading to their countries.

In the coming years and decades, there will be much debate about the accomplishments of the Trump Presidency. Some will point out that Trump was the first President to shine the light on China as the most dangerous country in the world. But others point out that it may be the fundamental shift in the Middle East that came about due to Trump policies will be the main thing that Trump’s foreign policy will be remembered for.
Biden will probably be tested in the Ukraine, North Korea, and in the Far East. Aggression will probably grow under Biden’s watch as the United States is no longer viewed as a potent force that will insure world peace. But in the situation of Iran, this is the United States being pro-active in getting rid of the sanctions that did so much to bring more moderate Arab countries into the pro-Western orbit. One day, very soon, the folly of this policy will be viewed as a fateful mistake.

On this occasion of Israel's 73rd Yom Ha'Atzma'ut (Independence Day) - I'm happy to share the following two updates with you:

1. A short three weeks after inaugurating the first Amitsim House for orphaned families in Jerusalem, we succeeded in opening another Amitsim House in Afula this week! Pictures of this event can be found below.
 
2. As I shared with you in a previous letter, God willing and with your support, I am contending to on become Israel's next President in the election that will be held this coming May or June.

The tremendous rifts between the various sides of Israeli society and between Israel and Jews worldwide have led me to the conclusion that bridging these gaps is the first order of business for Israel's next President, who necessarily needs to be an individual who is dedicated to and loves God, the Land of Israel, Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, the Bible, and has a deep understand of Israel's unique place in the world as a source of blessings and a light unto the Nations. I feel that I have been blessed by Hashem with the appropriate skill set to be that bridge-builder.

Iran vows revenge against Israel for alleged attack on nuclear site
(ETH) – Iran is vowing revenge against Israel after Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, has come out threatening Israel following the mysterious blackout that occurred at an Iranian nuclear enrichment site that Iran has accused Israel of carrying out.

The recent threat from the foreign minister highlights the continual risk of escalation in a long shadow war between both nations. Zarif recently made the statemnt that was broadcasted by Iranian state television, where he stated: “The Zionists want to take revenge because of our progress in the way to lift sanctions.”

He added, “But we will take our revenge from the Zionists,” according to the broadcast.

The blessing of the Priests is written clearly in the bible. It is said every day by Priests today, all over the world. It is a blessing that G-d gave as a gift to the Priests to bless the entire nation with. The blessing says the following. May G-d guard you. May G-d enlighten you with graciousness. Lastly, May G-d raise his countenance on you and bless you with peace.

The blessing of peace is the only part of the daily liturgy text that is dictated to be said – in the Bible itself. It is so fitting that the one little piece of the Bible that was found near the Temple Mount was that specific prayer itself. After all, it contains the prayer that there is a custom for parents to give to their children at the onset of every Sabbath.
The fact that the Bible is the oldest Book that exists today is well-known. But the more archaeological evidence that is found that contains bits and pieces of the Bible, the more proof there is to the indigenous nature of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.

“In Israel, in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles,” quipped David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister.

Israel’s return to its homeland after 2,000 years of exile – an event completely unique in the annals of history – is miraculous. A deeper dive into some of the details of what happened in 1948 reveals just how true that is.
Let’s start with the military improbability. On May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence. On Israel’s first day of existence its first task was to create an army – and fast. Until then, the Jewish community had only a sundry group of decentralized, underground fighting units. On the day of its birth it was attacked by the armies of five countries, on every border, determined to wipe it off the map.

The Jewish community was already reeling from six months of a brutal civil war launched by the local Arab population that outnumbered it by 2 to 1 – and far out-armed it. The day after the declaration of independence, this local war was joined by the standing armies of five huge Arab nations: “This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre,” declared Azzam Pasha, Secretary General of the Arab League, speaking on Cairo radio.

Invading Arab armies boasted 270 tanks, 150 field guns and 300 aircraft. The Jewish forces had no heavy machine guns, artillery, armored vehicles, anti-tank or anti-aircraft weapons, nor military aircraft or tanks.
In less than two weeks the government created the Israel Defense Forces, merging the Haganah (the main Jewish military organization since 1920), Irgun, and Lehi. Israel had 32,000 soldiers but only one third of them had light arms, and no heavy weapons existed. Half had zero military training. Invading Arab armies boasted 270 tanks, 150 field guns and 300 aircraft (A.J. Barker, The Arab Israeli Wars, Hippocrene Books, 1981, Efraim Karsh, The Arab-Israeli Conflict: The Palestine War 1948, Osprey Publishing, 2002, p. 25). Initially, the Jewish forces had no heavy machine guns, artillery, armored vehicles, anti-tank or anti-aircraft weapons, nor military aircraft or tanks. Four small planes comprised their "Air Force”, one of which was downed in its first operation. It was a war on every front and in every city.


To make matters worse, an international arms embargo was declared on the Jewish state, and almost every key strategic position was passed from the exiting British forces to Arab forces.

Israel won.

But that’s just the start of the story.

While Israel was winning that war (4,400 volunteer soldiers came to its aid from 56 countries!) and losing a full 1% of its population (the US lost .3% of its population in its worst war, WWII) it was also busy tripling its population.

To put that in perspective, the world’s richest, most immigrant-friendly countries absorb a fraction of that: UK 13% per year, Germany 12.5%, the US 15%. Israel had a tiny economy and was stretched to its limits before it began; less than 100 years ago there were only 26,000 Jews in the country, now there were 630,000. The population had already exploded by 50 times before this tripling.

Fledging Israel had a huge challenge. It simply did not have the food to feed this massive influx of people, nor the housing for them to live. Lacking any natural resources (half of Israel’s tiny size is desert) and almost no large industry to provide employment, it also lacked the health care system or infrastructure to absorb such a tsunami of immigrants.

But that didn’t stop them from doing it.

And consider the immigrants: of the 1.2 million arrivals, a third were penniless, broken Holocaust survivors whose entire families had just been murdered. Facing yet another existential threat, 23,000 of them were conscripted into Israel’s new army as they landed and given two weeks of military training. The other two thirds who came a year later were refugees fleeing Muslim countries where they had lived for centuries, also arriving destitute and devastated. Israel airlifted in 50,000 Jews from Yemen and 120,000 from Iraq. Israel has absorbed more immigrants per capita than any other country in history.

Israel immigration camps

Of the new émigrés, none could speak the local language, Hebrew. After all, Israel had just accomplished another unique event in world history, reviving an unspoken language after 2,000 years, bringing spoken Hebrew back to life just decades before the state's founding (while many could read the ancient script of the Bible, communicating in Hebrew was a different story entirely!). With no common language and hailing from dozens of wildly disparate cultures, 1.2 million people had to be absorbed by 600,000: housed in homes that did not exist, fed, taught a new language, educated, and employed.

While fighting an impossible war for its survival with its hands tied behind its back, Israel proceeded to found 28 new agricultural communities in a couple years (400 in its first decade) and another 25 brand new towns where previously there had been no electricity, water or roads.

Israel's Founding Fathers handled every mind-boggling challenge. They had to invent a country from scratch. Within months they created a justice system: police force, courts, and laws, and an entire government. They quickly proceeded to run the first democratic elections in the Middle East – which is still the Middle East’s only real democracy.

The birth of the new Jewish State under these insane circumstances was not only a divine miracle but also a miracle of the human spirit. The superhuman levels of creativity, stamina, bravery and strength that were required of the Jewish leadership is beyond imagination. But the leaders alone could not have won the race. The entire nation demonstrated a determination, at any personal cost, to accomplish an impossible dream. It was a demonstration of the human spirit at its best and rarest. We owe them our deepest appreciation.

Ben Gurion captured the source of their spirit in a 1936 speech he gave to the Peel Commission:

“300 years ago, there came to the New World a boat, and its name was the Mayflower. The Mayflower’s landing on Plymouth Rock was one of the great historical events in the history of England and in the history of America. But I would like to ask any Englishman sitting here on the commission, what day did the Mayflower leave port? What date was it? I’d like to ask the Americans: do they know what date the Mayflower left port in England? How many people were on the boat? Who were their leaders? What kind of food did they eat on the boat?

“More than 3300 years ago, long before the Mayflower, our people left Egypt, and every Jew in the world, wherever he is, knows what day they left. And he knows what food they ate. And we still eat that food every anniversary. And we know who our leader was. And we sit down and tell the story to our children and grandchildren in order to guarantee that it will never be forgotten. And we say our two slogans: ‘Now we may be enslaved, but next year, we’ll be a free people.’

“…Now we are behind the Soviet Union and their prison. Now, we’re in Germany where Hitler is destroying us. Now we’re scattered throughout the world, but next year, we’ll be in Jerusalem. There’ll come a day that we’ll come home to Zion, to the Land of Israel. That is the nature of the Jewish people.”

This Yom HaAtzmaut let’s all pause to appreciate the miracle of Israel.

The Duke often engaged with and showed affection for the Jewish Community in the UK and had a connection to Israel. As a mark of respect, we are delaying the launch of Zionism Month, which had been scheduled for today, until next Monday, 19 April. Zionism Month will now run from 19 April to 15 May. It’s a month when alongside the Zionist Federation we will encourage people to express their support for Zionism, the movement for the national liberation and self-determination of the Jewish people in a sovereign Jewish national homeland, the State of Israel; and to express what Zionism means to them; and when we will try to educate the public about what Zionism is and the diverse spectrum of Zionist thought.

The European Union is at the forefront of some of the most anti-Israel activities. That is not news. What is news is that they have been running a covert operation for years to fund all kinds of land grabbing of Area C. This is not about battling the State of Israel politically. It is about putting facts on the ground in a completely illegal fashion that is against any legal framework.


The State of Israel has been settling the Land of Israel for more than 100+ years through much self-sacrifice and money. For more than 100 years before the State of Israel was formed, Jewish pioneers – who used to proudly call themselves settlers – came with very little from Russia, Poland, and Arab lands in the Middle East. Despite their meagre resources, they found some backers who were willing to purchase tracts of land. The Land of Israel was largely empty and land purchase was available. Land was not stolen, but purchased. By 1948, much of the Land of Israel was being developed by Jews living in small communal villages and towns. This led to a major renewal and increase in economic output in what would become the State of Israel. Many Arabs from Syria, Egypt, and other areas flocked to the Land of Israel out of pure economic reasons. There was money to be earned working under or alongside the Jewish pioneers.

Today, there is a disputed area in Judea and Samaria that Israel liberated in a defensive war in 1967. Israel has around 100 small, medium, and large towns located in this expanse. As the struggle against the existence of the State of Israel continues to this very day, a new weapon in the struggle is the European-Union-funded Arab struggle to grab land that does not belong to them. This expose brings it all out into the open for all to see. There are immoral activities going on in the State of Israel. Arabs are stealing, with the support and blessing of the European Union.

This is how Arabs in Israel treat the Temple Mount, their supposed holy site. They clearly don't care about it - and they don't care that it's the Jewish people's holiest site. Can you imagine if the Jews did this to a holy Muslim site?

The Temple Mount is the holiest site of the Jewish people. It has been such for thousands of years. It is the location where two Jewish Temples stood for more than 800 years. For the last 2,000 years, the Jewish people have yearned for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and the Temple. Finally, after thousands of years, the location of the Holy Site is now under Jewish control. And what is going on there? Arab children are running around freely and playing while Jewish people need to be watched over by Arabs to make sure that they don’t utter a word of prayer in the sacred site. How did this come to be?
The State of Israel was founded in 1948. Prior to that, the Land of Israel was ruled by the British. The British took over the Land of Israel from the Turks (the Ottoman Empire) during World War I. But in Israel’s War of Independence between 1947-1948, Israel gained independence in most of the areas that Jewish people had settled on in the previous decades leading up to the War of Independence. But there was one startling exception – the Old City of Jerusalem. Israel had a tiny force of soldiers that fought against hundreds of Jordanian invaders. Following weeks of fierce battle in close quarters, the Jewish fighters finally gave in. There were even Jewish children, under the age of 13, who fought and were killed in the battle. What followed was nineteen years of Jordanian occupation of the Old City of Jerusalem while the Jewish State bordered the Old City of Jerusalem less than a block away. No Jew could pray in the Old City at the Western Wall, and certainly walk up to the Temple Mount above.

But in 1967, Israel was forced into a defensive war following an invasion by three armies, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. The cause for the fighting was the closing of Israeli shipping by Egypt at the Straits of Tiran. When diplomacy bore no fruit, Israel responded with a lightning Air Force strike that wiped out most of the Air Forces of the Arab countries surrounding her. That was followed by shooting from Jordan into the Jewish part of Jerusalem. Israel had tried everything to convince Jordan to stay out of the fray. But Jordan insisted on taking part in the victory they thought was imminent. What resulted was a total victory by the State of Israel over Jordan. Israel liberated the ancient cities of Hebron, Shechem, Beth-El, and of course – the Old City of Jerusalem.

So, why is the Temple Mount not free for Jewish people to pray on it? The answer is very simple. The Israeli leadership – especially in 1967 – has been disconnected from much of the Jewish traditions that have fueled the continuity of the Jewish people for generations. Therefore, the Israeli government handed the keys to the Temple Mount to Arab religious leaders right at the end of the Six Day War instead of making sure to insure Jewish rights in the holiest site of the Jewish people. But the Jewish disconnect from tradition is gradually changing in the State of Israel. As the country becomes more and more connected to it’s roots, the calls for a return to sovereignty and Jewish control over the Temple Mount are also growing. At the very least, every Jewish Holy Site should never be used as a playground.

Donald Trump came to shake up things in Washington. He didn’t change anything about his personality after he was elected. Even within his own staff, he shook things up more frequently than nearly any other occupant of the Oval Office. He did not shy away from controversy, and never seemed to take the easy path. His America First philosophy found many detractors, on the right and the left. But it also awakened an electorate that was barely involved until the 2016 election. The Republican Party after the Trump Presidency is significantly expanded in a way that may change the way the middle class vote – for many years to come.

The polarization of the two parties reached a high during the four years of the Trump Presidency. But it also proved to be a time of shifting allegiances within key elements of the electorate – especially the middle class. The economic prowess of the Trump years are unquestionably an historic achievement. So too, the peace agreements that the Trump administration brokered in the Middle East has already been recognized by leading Democrats as a fantastic achievement. But the handling of the unprecedented challenge of the Coronavirus pandemic will be debated for decades. His loose pronouncements on this heart-wrenching issue during an election year may have even cost his the election.

‘Distinguished, selfless, loyal’ – tributes to Prince Philip, who dies aged 99
Tributes to the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip, have been paid by leading communal figures following the news of his death this morning.

Prince Philip who was married to the Queen for more than 70 years, was just weeks from his milestone 100th birthday on June 10.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” said the palace in a statement.

Marie van der Zyl, President of the Board of Deputies, paid tribute to Duke, sending her “deepest commiserations” to Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal Family on their loss.

“Prince Philip’s life was spent in public service, from his active duty in the Navy during the Second World War to the tens of thousands of engagements which he carried out over six-and-a-half decades of royal duties,” she said.

“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family today; it is our sincere hope that their memories of Prince Philip will be a comfort to them in the period ahead.”

Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, sent his “profound condolences” to her Majesty following the sad news, and expressed the community’s gratitude for Prince Philip’s long life of public service.

“I enjoyed immensely my personal conversations with the Duke of Edinburgh, during which I was deeply moved by his extraordinary sense of duty,” he said.

“A remarkable Royal, working well into his 90s, he became a role model for staying active in one’s latter years and demonstrated an unwavering sense of responsibility to our country.

“His Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme, founded in 1956, has transformed the lives of many thousands of young people.”Rabbi Mirvis paid tribute to the Duke as a “most distinguished man who was a selfless and loyal public figure,” and recalled his affection for the Jewish community.

He added: “The Queen and all the Royal Family are very much in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”

Tributes were also paid in Israel, with Benjamin Netanyahu describing Philip as a “consummate public servant”.

Community Security Trust joined those paying tributes to the Duke’s public service, saying: “We will always be grateful for Prince Philip’s dedication and support for the UK Jewish community.”

The chair of the Jewish Leadership Council, Jonathan Goldstein, was also among those their condolences to her Majesty on the Duke’s death, adding: “May his memory be a blessing.”

Among the Duke’s many public engagements were a 2015 visit to the former Nazi concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen.

The Holocaust Education Trust said it was “deeply saddened” to hear of the Duke’s passing. “He made an immeasurable contribution to the life of our country and his loss will be felt by us all,” it said.

The Duke also attended the United Synagogue’s centenary dinner in 1970, and his affection for the community has been remembered fondly by Michael Goldstein, its president.

He recalled how the Duke had been a “been a constant for generations of United Synagogue members and their families, the wider Jewish community and the nation at large.”

He added: “We wish ‘chayim aruchim’, long life, to the Queen and the Royal Family.”

Prince Philip also spoke at events at Norwood, the Jewish charity, whose patron is Her Majesty the Queen. It paid tribute to the Duke as an “outstanding public servant.”

“We remember him for all he did in his 99 years,” it said.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the Queen’s private secretary, the Movement for Reform Judaism said Prince Philip was “a true friend of the community and to Israel where his mother Princess Alice of Greece is buried.”

While praising the Duke’s “lifetime of service and duty,” chair Robert Wiltshire also recalled how Prince Philip’s mother hid a Jewish family in her home in Nazi-occupied Athens.

The Duke served in the Royal Navy during the war, fighting in the Battle of Crete among others, becoming one of the youngest First Lieutenants in the service at the age of just 21.

Former Board chief recalls Prince Philip’s ‘wonderful humour’ at school opening

Prince Philip’s “mastery at making people laugh” has been recalled by the former president of the Board of Deputies, as he remembered the day the royal opened Hertsmere Jewish primary in Radlett.

Following the Duke of Edinburgh’s death aged 99 on Friday, Jonathan Arkush, who served as communal leader from 2015 to 2018, remembered the royal for his “wonderful sense of humour”.


Opening Hertsmere Jewish Primary School in 2000, Prince Philip “ was a wonderful guest, engaging brilliantly with the children and giving an off- the-cuff outstandingly witty speech,” said Arkush, who was a chair of governors of HJPS governor at the time.

“In my welcoming remarks I referred to our community’s everlasting gratitude and admiration for the Prince’s mother, Princess Alice, who rescued Jewish families from the Nazis in the Second World War. Prince Philip was visibly moved and wiped his eyes.”
Princess Alice is buried in Jerusalem, and is recognised as Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem.

“The prince had a wonderful sense of humour. Seeing HJPS’s benefactor Stanley Cohen in a plaster cast around his foot, and referring to Stanley’s skill in fundraising, he joked that someone had obviously decided to get one back at Stanley when asked for a donation.”
Arkush said the Prince and Cohen “enjoyed a long friendship” and he “was very appreciative that Stanley chaired the Duke of Edinburgh Award Charitable Trust for a number of years”.

Sociologists who studied the causes of juvenile delinquency had thought in the past that the root cause was poverty. But study after study found that there were many children who ended up on the streets who came from very wealthy homes too. Moreover, there were many young children who became dropouts at the young age of 10, 11, or 12. So, then what is the root cause?

Washington says that if you want to believe in yourself and work hard to succeed, you need to set goals, work on discipline, and be consistent. These are values that come from the home. When the home is healthy and includes a Mom and Dad that serve as role models for this, then juvenile delinquency rates drop to very low rates. The system that works is a system with a Mom and Dad at home at the top. The system that doesn’t work is a system with a Dad in jail and a Mom that has to work two jobs in order to put food on the table. Then, the children are raised in the streets. That is the problematic system – not deep seated racism. The solution to all problems is in the home.

There have been other time periods in recent US history when violence took a negative turn. But it usually was followed with a return to a more stable and less dangerous time. Today, it is very difficult to imagine a time when things will be better again. Most of the cities that are Democrat-run seem to be digging in deeper in their anti-police ideologies. If the police, who are a key element in the solution to the problems, are treated like the source of the problems, then there is very little hope for any correction. Any professional or non-professional person who commits a crime will not cease to repeat just because a social worker understands their feelings that led them to choose violence. That may be helpful too, but they need to know that they will be locked up if they prove to be a menace to society. Today, the police are being labeled as the menaces. Why would anybody want to join the police if the police are labeled as the source of our problems?

How can a man who threatens three young Sarcellois of the Jewish faith with a knife be freed? What conception of freedoms does the judge who allowed this have?

On Monday, the last day of the Jewish Passover feast, around 8:30 p.m., three young people come out of the great synagogue of Sarcelles and walked on Boulevard Albert-Camus, in the heart of Little Jerusalem. All three were wearing the kippah.

Then a woman, from her first-floor balcony, alerted them, shouting: “Watch out, he has a knife!” The young people, in their twenties, turned around to find a drunken man two meters away who was pointing a long knife in their direction. They immediately fled and escaped him.

He reportedly said: “They stole my job.”

The suspect, believed to be around 35 years old, of Pakistani origin, was taken into custody at Sarcelles police station.

After his police custody, the man was referred to the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday, and the latter opened a judicial investigation for “threat with a weapon.” Indicted by the investigating judge, he was placed under judicial supervision in the evening and released.

He also said that there was no evidence to confirm the anti-Semitic nature of the incident. This aggravating circumstance was not ultimately retained.

He also revealed that the suspect was subject to an order to leave French territory issued by the prefect several years ago. “It is not being applied. Is this normal?” he asks.
