The “Free Palestine” movement is a myth-based anti-Israel’s existence movement. The people who created the movement have never accepted the existence of the State of Israel. They support a One State Plan. One Arab state – “From the River to the Sea.” That means that they support the destruction of the State of Israel. They do not hide this point – they say it loud and clear.
he Hamas-terrorist run government in Israel’s southwestern region is the brother of the Hizbullah movement that sits atop Israel’s northern border. They are both funded heavily by Iran. They have one overarching goal – to destroy Israel. This is nothing new – it is a continuation of the declared goal of the Palestine Liberation Organization – P.L.O. The goal is to destroy Israel. Yasser Arafat and his cohorts used violence to accomplish their goals. At first, they wreaked havoc in Jordan, then in Lebanon, and then within the borders of the State of Israel when Israel let him in in order to make a foolish attempt at reaching a peace settlement with a terrorist.

Peace can be achieved with terrorists – when the terrorists no longer possess the means to be violent. Arafat was neutered by the Sharon government and ultimately became a toothless mini-tyrant in charge of very little. But the next generation of Arafat’s henchmen are basically the same thing as he was. Little has changed in the Middle East as far as the goals and aspirations of much of the Arab population. Israel needs to prop up the forces that are moderate and actually want peace. But the terrorists in our midst must be stopped in their tracks.

Sociologists who studied the causes of juvenile delinquency had thought in the past that the root cause was poverty. But study after study found that there were many children who ended up on the streets who came from very wealthy homes too. Moreover, there were many young children who became dropouts at the young age of 10, 11, or 12. So, then what is the root cause?

Washington says that if you want to believe in yourself and work hard to succeed, you need to set goals, work on discipline, and be consistent. These are values that come from the home. When the home is healthy and includes a Mom and Dad that serve as role models for this, then juvenile delinquency rates drop to very low rates. The system that works is a system with a Mom and Dad at home at the top. The system that doesn’t work is a system with a Dad in jail and a Mom that has to work two jobs in order to put food on the table. Then, the children are raised in the streets. That is the problematic system – not deep seated racism. The solution to all problems is in the home.

The May attacks included 401 firebombings, 33 pipe bombs, 87 arson attacks, 47 small-arms fire, two grenade attacks, one vehicular attack, and others.

Al Arub, the Arab village made up of “refugees” from Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, is actually built ontop of an important archeological site in connection to last Jewish King – Bar Kochbah. Al Arub has expanded and its buildings now buttress the road, creating a security nightmare.

The violence has not been relegated only on the roads in Judea and Samaria, but Jerusalem residents have felt it as well. In Jerusalem, a car of a Jewish resident of the Shiloach Heights was also firebombed this week. The attackers have still not been found.

George Galloway’s is “very clear there is a difference between anti-Zionism and antisemitism” his spokesperson has insisted.

Speaking to Jewish News following our report on strong pro-Palestinian sentiment in a key area of Batley and Spen ahead of next month’s by-election, the spokesperson also said there had been “no” incidents of antisemitism in Galloway’s campaign up until now.


Galloway’s aide said: “We have made clear in our daily briefings if anybody says anything antisemitic, if anybody holds antisemitic views they are not welcome.”

Asked for Galloway’s view on whether Labour had become a “Zionist Party” under Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership, the spokesperson said: “I have not spoken to George today, but when I see him I will get him to reply back to you.”

When told that some voters in the Batley area had yesterday suggested Galloway was himself now a Muslim ‘revert’, the spokesperson said:”That is a matter between George and God.

“He is a believer in God, but his faith is a matter between him and God.”

The spokesperson also suggested claims that Galloway’s campaign would ultimately lead to a Tory victory on July 1st were wrong.

“We are in it to win it,” said the aide. “It is Labour who cannot win. Speak to any local Kirklees Labour councillor and they will tell you the party’s canvassing returns are so poor they cannot win.”

Labour has yet to respond to a request for comment on the party’s campaign in the seat.

Was this really so necessary? Could not the State of Israel rely on the friendship of the United States or other friendly Western governments to come to it’s aid in it’s time of need? The answer is a big absolute NO! That is one of the many lessons of the Holocaust. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was raised on this concept and has repeated it constantly. The Jewish people may have many friends and supporters – around the world, and in many powerful positions. However, that also could have been said in the 1930’s and 1940’s. There is even ample evidence that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was rather friendly to the Jewish people he knew. One of his closest friends was his Secretary of Treasury, Robert Morgenthau, a Jew. But when push came to shove, there were deeply anti-Jewish people in key positions in the State Department and War Department, and they were more than happy to let Jewish people continue to be killed by Nazis. FDR and Churchill had “higher” priorities, and therefore did not intervene to bomb the railways. But even if they had, millions had been killed before the Allies approached Germany in 1944 and 1945. Despite all of it’s friends and supporters, the Jewish people can only rely on itself and G-d above for their security. The Holocaust is the ultimate proof of this. That is why the Israel Defense Forces, and the nuclear program are so critical for the safety and well-being of the State of Israel.

One of the main suspects in the Arab Muslim’s lynching a Jew in the Israeli city of Akko during the Gaza war was released the other day. In the Old City of Akko, the Arab Muslims celebrated his release by slaughtering sheep for a celebratory meal in his honor and by distributing sweets throughout the city in his honor. They basically received him as the Arab Muslims in Gaza receive terrorists who have been released.

People who have such hatred cannot be peaceful. They need to rid themselves of this sick culture. Again, these are ISRAELI Arabs. Israel has given these Arabs opportunities. These Arabs can be doctors, lawyers, teachers. They can own restaurants. They can pray where they want. And this is how they repay the Jewish state? By celebrating criminal acts against innocent Jews?

This is just so, so wrong. This is how evil people act. If they don’t want to live in Israel, they can try living in any of the 22 Arab countries. Or Gaza. Let’s see how much freedom they have there.

And of course, NOT all Arabs act like this. Not all Israeli Arabs are terrorists or support terrorism. But the ones who do support terrorism are making a lot of noise about it. And they need to be stopped.

The Imam hits it on the nose. The Arab problem with the State of Israel is based on purely racist hatred of the Jewish people – in the State of Israel and outside of the State of Israel. It is not a battle over land. It is not a battle over the rights of a persecuted minority. These are all tactical arguments that work in the battle for public opinion. So why is it so hard for so many Western-minded people to understand this?

The Western mind has a very hard time understanding the mind of Communists in China and North Korea. It has a hard time understanding how tens of millions of innocent people could have been killed by Japanese and Nazi invaders during World War II. That is a good thing – that we in the West have a hard time relating to a mindset that could lead to mass genocide.

But we must not bury our heads in the sand. We must learn the lessons of history well. The world is made up of many kinds of people, and some of those people have dangerous ideologies that will destroy our lives if we don’t muster the weapons and courage to deter them. It is so tempting to think that the threats of the early 20th century no longer exist in the 21st century. But the opposite is the case. The threats are greater and more readily at hand. The main difference between then and now is that today we have methods to combat the racist ideologies of our enemies in a way that did not exist then.


Today, we don’t just have Readers Digest in multiple languages and hope that it smuggles it’s way into the right hands behind the Iron Curtain. Today, we can publish the most important messages in any language and it will reach the minds of young people that are searching. The internet can be controlled, but not completely. No culture that wants to compete financially can function effectively without internet usage. The most important new factor in today’s new world is the internet. The Imam is one of many who is impacting on the minds of tens of thousands of young Arabs. We need an Army of these Imams and the backing to amplify their message to hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. That is how you win the battle in today’s new world order.

And they lived under difficult conditions under the Turks, Byzantines, Crusaders, etc…But the Arabs lived in Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and other areas – not the Land of Israel.

Everything about the argument that claims that the Land of Israel is Arab Land is one big lie that is repeated endlessly. But it is based on nothing but pure hatred of the Jewish people. That is why the argument also includes kicking out the Jews from parts of the Land of Israel. It’s time to lift the veil off of the big lie that is the cause called “Palestine.”

1. A huge chunk of Israel’s political spectrum wants to oust Netanyahu. Those on the left, including pseudo-centrists like Yesh Atid Party leader Yair Lapid, are motivated by ideology. Others, on the right, are scrambling for power.

2. No leader within Netanyahu’s Likud or outside has emerged as a viable alternative to him. Non-Likud parties have little credibility. Especially those on the left. The fake centrist parties that act as leftist stalking horses have even less credibility.

What finally happened is that one of the alternative right-wing parties got together with the left and Israel’s worst enemies to form a coalition. And the media is celebrating Netanyahu’s downfall while preparing to spin this as proof that Israel is terrible.

I’m not in the business of making political predictions, but I am skeptical that a coalition so ridiculously unwieldy can hold up. And Netanyahu is far from done. There are plenty of reasons for Israelis to be disappointed by Netanyahu, but this alternative coalition is the equivalent of Never Trumpers campaigning for Hillary. Except it’s even worse, by a factor of a few thousand.

The only thing uniting the Never Netanyahu coalition is hatred of the man himself, and of religious Jews. That’s a weak bond and won’t make for a stable power-sharing arrangement even assuming it manages to get any further off the ground.

The only thing that the coalition proves is that the Never Netanyahus have yet to come up with an alternative to him.

New coalition losing stability as infighting grows

The day after Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett formed their government, Biden administration officials threw a diplomatic grenade at them. Last Monday, administration officials told reporters “unofficially” that U.S. President Joe Biden intends to appoint Hady Amr, his Assistant Secretary of State for Israel and the Palestinians, to serve as U.S. Consul General to the Palestinians—in Jerusalem.

To deploy Amr to Israel’s capital as consul, the administration will first need to open a consulate in Jerusalem. In accordance with the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1996, the Trump administration closed the consulate and turned the building into the Ambassador’s Residence following the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem in 2019. And under the Vienna Convention, the United States must ask Israel to permit the opening of the consulate and accredit the head of mission.


The administration’s decision to deploy Amr to Jerusalem as ambassador-in-everything-but-name to a hostile, non-Israeli entity is a double assault on Israel. First, it sends the clear message that the Biden administration supports the division of Israel’s capital. Second, by sending Amr specifically to Jerusalem, the administration is making clear that it intends to legitimize and work with Hamas.Before joining the administration, Amr was a fellow at the Qatar-funded Brookings Institution. He was the founding director of the Brookings Institution in Doha. And from Brookings, Amr wrote and spoke in favor of legitimizing the Iranian-sponsored Muslim Brotherhood terror group. Amr advocated that the United States work to integrate Hamas into the PLO.

The administration’s now all-but-declared positions on Jerusalem and Hamas in turn strengthen Iran’s position in Palestinian society. They also legitimize the until-now unthinkable scenario in which the United States supports a Hamas takeover of Judea and Samaria. The administration’s deep-seated animosity toward Israeli sovereignty over unified Jerusalem makes clear as well just how hostile its positions are in relation to Israel’s strategic requirements and national rights to Judea and Samaria.Subscribe to The JNS Daily Syndicate by email and never miss our top stories

Although Palestinian Authority chairman and Fatah and PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas initiated the latest round of war last month, he did not benefit politically or militarily from the onslaught against Israel. Hamas did.


An opinion poll published last Tuesday by the Ramallah-based Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research found that 77 percent of Palestinians believe Hamas won the latest round of war. If elections were held today, Abbas would be wiped out, receiving a mere 27 percent of the vote, while Hamas terror chief Ismail Haniyeh would win the leadership with 59 percent of the vote. The only Fatah leader more popular that Haniyeh is convicted mass murderer Marwan Barghouti, the architect of the 2000-2004 Palestinian terror war. Barghouti is in prison, serving multiple consecutive life sentences for his direct command of murderous Fatah terror cells.

It is true that the Israel Defense Forces wiped out much of Hamas’s military machine in last month’s mini-war. But even in relation to Israel, Hamas emerged stronger from the last round of fighting than it was before it began its offensive. Israeli Arab imams aligned with Hamas through the Israeli Islamic movement incited pogroms against Israeli Jews throughout the country. Their actions demonstrated Hamas’s long arm of influence in Israel’s Arab community.

Events surrounding last week’s flag march in Jerusalem made clear Hamas’s strengthened position. Hamas threatened to reinstate its assaults on Israel if the government allowed Israeli citizens to parade through the capital carrying Israeli flags. Rather than ignore the warnings, the security establishment, the media and political leaders treated them like strategic threats. For days, Hamas’s threats dominated the discourse at all levels of the ruling class. The obsessive concern over the threats showed that despite the operational damage Israel caused to Hamas’s military infrastructure, Hamas today is deterring Israel, at least publicly, far more than Israel is deterring Hamas.

All of this brings us to the new government. Although Naftali Bennett is prime minister, the real power in the government is Foreign Minister and Prime Minister-designate Yair Lapid. Lapid controls 75 percent of the coalition to Bennett’s 20 percent. The last five percent of the 61-seat coalition is controlled by Mansour Abbas, the head of the Muslim Brotherhood-aligned Islamist Ra’am Party.

In the ceremony at the Foreign Ministry marking Lapid’s entry into office, Israel’s effective leader laid out his priorities. His top three goals are to rebuild Israel’s ties with the Democrat Party, with the progressive U.S. Jewish establishment and with the European Union.

With regard to Iran, ignoring Republican opposition, Lapid said the U.S. return to the 2015 nuclear agreement was a done deal. Lapid said that Israel’s job is to prepare for the inevitable. The 2015 agreement provides Iran with an open path to a nuclear arsenal and enriches it through sanctions relief while placing certain restrictions on its nuclear activities for a limited period of time.

As for the Palestinians, despite the fact that the Palestinians have refused to negotiate with Israel for the past 13 years, and that in the meantime Israel made peace with four Arab states and formed an operational alliance with the Sunni Gulf states and Egypt against Iran, Lapid described the Palestinians and their conflict with Israel as the central axis around which all other regional issues rotate. What happens between the Palestinians and Israel, he said, will “define, to a large extent, all the other arenas.”

Lapid’s priorities dictate his policies. The tensions in Israel’s relations with the Democrats, the progressive American Jewish establishment and the European Union were never about personalities. They are and always have been about positions. Relations with all three became acrimonious because the Democrats, progressive Jews and the European Union embrace policiesthe nuclear deal and Palestinian statehood—that most Israelis consider dangerous to the state’s survival. The only way for Lapid to mend Israel’s relations with these groups is to adopt their dangerous policy preferences.

Although Israel has the power to reject a U.S. request to open a consulate to the Palestinians in Jerusalem, and certainly has the power to reject pro-Hamas Amr as consul, Lapid’s desire to appease the Democrats will prevent him from doing either.

As for Iran, while Lapid told the Foreign Ministry officials who attended his inaugural speech, “Israel will prevent in every way necessary the possibility that Iran will attain nuclear weapons,” this commitment cannot be aligned with Lapid’s top three priorities.

Haaretz reporter Jonathan Lis wrote last week that in all likelihood, to advance the goals he set for himself, Lapid will seek to implement the diplomatic vision he laid out in a 2018 speech. In that speech, Lapid made the same claim that the Palestinians are the axis around which all other regional issues rotate. In keeping with this view, he called for Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians to receive U.S. support on Iran.

In his words, “I believe that a breakthrough on the Iranian issue depends on the Palestinian issue. We need to work to advance a diplomatic agreement with the Palestinians, only as part of a regional discussion.”

He went on, “Can we separate the Iranian problem from the Palestinian problem? Without progress vis a vis the Palestinians, can we enlist the [support of] the Saudi public, the U.S. Congress, American Jewry, the European Union and the money from the Gulf states? Netanyahu says we can. I tell you we can’t. Most security officials say we can’t.”

Lapid’s speech didn’t age well. In the months that followed he pronouncement, then President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem and moved the embassy to Israel’s capital. Trump left the nuclear deal and implemented his maximum pressure campaign against the ayatollahs. The Gulf States formalized their operational alliance with Israel through the Abraham Accords. The United States recognized Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights, acknowledged the legality of Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria and accepted Israeli sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria in the Trump peace plan.

In his speech last week, Lapid made clear that none of these events made the slightest impression on him. The path he intends to embark upon is based on ignoring the significance of everything that has been achieved.

This brings us to the opposition, which while controlling only 53 seats in the Knesset, represents the wishes of the majority of voters, who elected 65 right-wing politicians to represent them.

Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu and his colleagues must base their platform for bringing down the Lapid government on a recognition of reality. Hamas’s clear influence over Israeli Arabs brings home the fact that a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem would foment Israel’s destruction. If the Hamas state in Gaza can foment anti-Semitic pogroms throughout Israel, a Hamas state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, along with Gaza, will represent a threat to the country that no government will be able to successfully surmount.

The opposition’s platform must begin then with a full rejection of Palestinian statehood. Instead, Netanyahu and his colleagues should adopt Bennett’s 2013 plan to apply Israeli law throughout all of Area C of Judea and Samaria.

Flowing from that, and from the Biden administration’s effective embrace of Hamas through Amr, the opposition must oppose completely the establishment of a U.S. consulate anywhere within Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries. It must oppose all freezes in recognition of Jewish property rights in unified Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria.
Netanyahu’s meeting last week with former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Christians United with Israel leader Pastor John Hagee was widely attacked by the anti-Netanyahu media. But it was a critical move. In his speech, Lapid effectively threw both Republicans and evangelicals under the bus. It is the duty of the opposition to maintain and strengthen Israel’s ties to both groups through frequent meetings and exchanges.

Lapid’s idea of linking U.S. policy toward Iran with the Palestinians flies in the face of a generation of strenuous efforts by successive Israeli governments to avoid linkage at all costs. Israel opposed linkage historically because it makes no sense. As the Abraham Accords and the Arab Spring before them made clear, regional affairs have nothing to do with the Palestinians and pretending they are linked is a recipe for strategic failure on all levels.

Today, given the Biden administration’s single-minded focus on realigning U.S. policy towards Iran and away from Israel and the Sunni Arab states, Lapid’s position is indefensible. There is no nuclear deal the administration will offer Iran that will protect Israel’s strategic interests even partially.

The new government both faces and invites new challenges and threats from Hamas, from Iran and from Washington. If he follows through on them, Lapid’s diplomatic policies will guarantee that his government will fail to meet them. Under the circumstances, the duty of the political opposition is to present a clear alternative approach and use the tools at its disposal to advance it.

Germany’s Other Genocide: Dress Rehearsal for the Holocaust
Germany recently acknowledged it committed genocide in present-day Namibia.

Germany has recently publicly acknowledged that it committed genocide a generation before the Holocaust, when German troops murdered 80,000 people in present-day Namibia in Southern Africa.

It has been called the “forgotten genocide” and the first genocide of the 20th century. German soldiers targeted members of the Nama and Herero ethnic groups for extermination between 1904 and 1908 in what was then called South-West Africa, and was brutally colonized by Germany.

Dr. Elizabeth Baer, a research professor at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and a researcher with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC, has researched Germany’s genocide of Jews and Gypsies as well as the Nama and Herero. In her 2017 book The Genocidal Gaze: From German Southwest Africa to the Third Reich, she documents how these genocides are linked. Dr. Baer recently spoke with Aish.com about her work and what we can learn from Germany’s belated acknowledgement that it committed genocide in modern day Namibia.

“I didn’t learn much about the Holocaust growing up,” Dr. Baer notes. Raised as a Catholic, Dr. Baer traces her drive to research the Holocaust to a trip for historians that she took to Poland and Israel with a Jewish organization in the early 1990s. The group was led by survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto who showed Dr. Baer the sites of several Nazi killing centers in Europe. Then she and her fellow historians visited Israel where they toured a kibbutz and visited Yad Vashem, Israel’s national Holocaust memorial. “It was a life changing moment for me,” Dr. Baer recalls. She began focusing her research on the Nazi genocide of Jews, publishing several books on the subject.


A chance conversation at a history seminar a decade ago set Dr. Baer on a new path, when she learned about the German genocide of the Nama and Herero peoples in the early 1900s. “So much less was known and published about it then,” she observes. With very little research documenting these horrific genocides, Dr. Baer knew she had to work to uncover their details. She took several trips to Africa to do research. “I thought I was going to write an article, but it turned into a book,” she recalls. The more Dr. Baer researched, the more she was struck by the many parallels between the German genocides in Namibia and those in Continental Europe a generation later.

As German colonizers settled the lands of present-day Namibia in the late 1800s, two ethnic groups resisted the encroachment on their traditional herding lands with particular fury: the Herero and the Nama. After a series of bloody uprisings by Herero warriors, Germany dispatched the fearsome military commander Lothar von Trotha to the region. In South-West Africa, von Trotha issued a dire warning: every member of the Herero people – and later, every member of the Nama, as well – would be imprisoned, made to perform forced labor, or shot.

Herero and Nama people were rounded up and sent to concentration camps. The most notorious of these was located on Shark Island and was the scene of horrific brutality. Prisoners were forced to perform backbreaking labor, were starved and tortured. Disease ran rampant. Thousands of men, women and children perished in Shark Island and other German-run concentration camps. Prisoners who died were decapitated and their heads sent to Germany so that scientists could “study” their skulls and supposedly prove that African people were inferior to Germans. For years, thousands of Herero and Nama were subject to the most gruesome atrocities and hatred by the hands of their German tormentors.

So venomous was the way Germans looked down upon Herero and Nama people, Dr. Baer invented a new term for it, and made it the title of her book on the subject: the Genocidal Gaze. “What I really mean by it is thinking about human beings in the framework of a racial hierarchy,” she explains. “At the top was Aryans. People at the bottom were perceived as sub-humans or less than human.”

In the case of the Herero and Nama people, Dr. Baer notes that their cattle-herding way of life was used to categorize them as a people “who didn’t have a history, didn’t have a religion, didn’t have a civilization.” By looking at the Nama and Herero as somehow less than human, German colonizers enabled their extermination. A generation later, Germans did the same thing to Jews, dehumanizing them and convincing people that they were less than fully human. In the runup to the Holocaust, Dr. Baer notes, “Jews were viewed as vermin; they were called lice, and unworthy of life.”

The first time that Germans used the notorious term Lebensraum – meaning that they deserved to seize new lands for Germans to live in – was in Namibia, Dr. Baer discovered. A generation later, Lebensraum was used to justify seizing European territories and deporting their inhabitants. “Lebensraum goes back to the 1890s to the era of Germany’s colonization of Namibia. The idea arose that they could exterminate the uncivilized sub-humans so they could have space for a colony.”

Dr. Baer has documented ways in which this odious ideology travelled from German colonizers back home. “People involved in the genocide and lengthy war with the Herero and Nama wrote memoirs in Germany,” she explains. The 1908 novel Peter Moore’s Journey to Southwest Africa – written by a man who never actually visited Africa – embodied what Dr. Baer calls the Genocidal Gaze and popularized it in Germany.

“The main character says to Peter Moore: these people deserve death under God and man because they’ve built no houses and built no wells,” Dr. Baer cites. The novel was a great favorite of Hitler. During World War II, Hitler had this odious book published in a small pocket-sized edition so that German soldiers could keep it in their pockets as they went to battle. “It established the attitude among the German people that genocide is acceptable in certain circumstances when the subject of the genocide is ‘sub-human’.”

“What I am arguing is that the genocide in Africa was sort of like a dress rehearsal for the Holocaust,” she explains. In addition to establishing the idea that some groups could be killed with impunity, the genocide of the Nama and Herero people helped German authorities perfect killing on an industrial scale.

Photos of the German concentration camps in Namibia survive, and there are unsettling similarities with the concentration camps in which Jews and others were imprisoned during the Holocaust. In Namibia, German troops forced some imprisoned women to work in brothels – the sadistic way they did this was copied a generation later during the Holocaust.

In addition to concentration camps, in Namibia Germans experimented with setting up a death camp, with the express aim of killing people there. “Shark Island was a prototype for the death camp,” Dr. Baer explains. Some prisoners were kept in metal cages on the beach there. “There was no food, no houses,” she notes. Using starvation as a method of killing people was pioneered at Shark Island, and later copied during the Holocaust. 80% of the Herero people and about half of all Nama people were killed during the German genocides of 1904-8: about 80,000 people.

These days, Dr. Baer has retired from full time teaching and is spending much of her time on research. What keeps her motivated is the fear that the hatred and dehumanization she’s written so much about might return. “Look at the world right now,” she warns, noting that hatred and demonization of others seems to be growing. “We have to take these types of attitudes very seriously,” Dr. Baer warns.

With Germany’s belated acknowledgement that it committed genocide in Namibia, there is some room for learning the lessons of the past and possibly making amends. In Germany, the term Vergangenheitsbewältigung means coming to terms with the past. When it comes to the Holocaust and the genocide of Jews, Gypsies and others, Dr. Baer notes “they built monuments and made reparations.” Now that Germany has acknowledged the horrors it perpetuated in Namibia, perhaps some measure of regret and self-examination might be possible. “Germany’s acknowledgment might have an impact on current affairs,” Dr. Baer hopes, enabling more people to learn about genocides in the past and perhaps help guard against any in the future.

Dr. Baer believes that we all learn from Germany’s acknowledgement just how dangerous it can be to accept racial or ethnic hierarchies as a framework for thinking about other people. “We are all human beings with the same needs and desires and fears – it’s critical that we begin to treat other human beings with kindness and empathy” instead of fear and hatred and demonization.

The new Jewish community of Evyatar in the Northern Shomron is a fast growing village originally built in memory of Evyatar Borovsky killed in 2013 and Yehuda Guetta killed in a drive by shooting nearby earlier this year. With more than 50 buildings, the residents of the fledgling community suffer continuous assaults by nearby Arab villages and yet it is the Jewish village itself that the Bennett Government threatens to destroy.

Foreign Minister and (as former Prime Minister Netanyahu calls him) Actual Prime Minister Yair Lapid said the following to Z’Man on Monday: “The outpost will be evacuated. It is illegal. It is not at all a question of right or left. It is an order from the army and the civil administration.”

The order in question was signed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz at the end of Former Prime Minister Netanyahu’s term. Netanyahu tried to give an order back to stop it, since it is built on State Land.

Bennett’s camp has claimed that Netanyahu destroyed young communities as well. However, when one looks into the matter, the communities that were destroyed were only ones built on private Arabs land and prior to their destruction, Netanyahu approved new communities in their place to be built on State Land. Evyatar is built on State Land in a strategic spot – the Bennett government should have no reason no to retroactively approve it.

With regular terror attacks aimed at the community of Evyatar and the potential destruction of the community coming, many observers have speculated that this one issue has the potential to break apart the Bennett-Lapid-Abbas coalition.

Bennett’s challenge is that he accepted a figure head role in a Lapid government and now with Evyatar anything left of his base will leave him. More than that, if he somehow successfully approves Evyatar, the Left and Arabs will bolt the government.

The conundrum of Evyatar proves why a Prime Minister cannot come from such a small party. With no base or internal power in the coalition, there is absolutely no way to hold the coalition together over such a controversial issue.

The battle over Evyatar is far more than a potential coalition breaking situation – it represents the schizophrenic policies of the government when it comes to Jews in Judea and Samaria. Jews suffer from terror and the government does nothing about it. Arabs build freely and yet these same Jews who suffer from terror have their residences knocked down.

Evyatar’s situation is indicative of the entire battle over Area C in Judea and Samaria. Bennett can congratulate himself on sneaking into the Prime Minister’s chair, but somehow pushing is leftwing partners to stop the European Union funded Arab land theft occurring in Judea and Samaria is a whole other matter. True, Netanyahu did not do much, but in recent years, his government allowed the beginning of the potential solution to Arab land theft. The Netanyahu governments supported young Jewish farmers settling on State Lands across Judea an Samaria in order to control and stave off Arab encroachment – it has been the only thing that has worked.

No politician has clean hands with Evyatar, but in the past there was someone to talk to. Now, with Bennett becoming good friends with Mansour Abbas, the doors are all closed and it is hard to see how communities like Evyatar will be allowed to stand.

One of the most powerful things about the Abraham Accords is the paradigm shifting reality of the Middle East that the agreements have brought. The UAE and Israel have been capitalizing on the accords from the moment they were signed. With the Iranian threat growing, the UAE and Israel have made economic and military independence a priority – especially since the Biden administration appears to be unfazed by Iranian intransigence.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesman tweeted the following after Raisi’s win:

“An extremist figure, committed to Iran’s rapidly advancing military nuclear program, his election makes clear Iran’s true malign intentions, and should prompt grave concern among the international community.”

With Raisi’s win, the Biden team will have to rethink its strategy over the nuclear negotiations it was hoping to wrap up in short order. For Israel’s part, it now has for the first time since Biden took power, the ability to convince the administration that it is time to back off of negotiations and take a far more confrontational approach. After all, Jerusalem plans on attacking no matter what.

The Temple Mount is the holiest site of the Jewish people. It has been such for thousands of years. It is the location where two Jewish Temples stood for more than 800 years. For the last 2,000 years, the Jewish people have yearned for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and the Temple. Finally, after thousands of years, the location of the Holy Site is now under Jewish control. And what is going on there? Arab children are running around freely and playing while Jewish people need to be watched over by Arabs to make sure that they don’t utter a word of prayer in the sacred site. How did this come to be?


The State of Israel was founded in 1948. Prior to that, the Land of Israel was ruled by the British. The British took over the Land of Israel from the Turks (the Ottoman Empire) during World War I. But in Israel’s War of Independence between 1947-1948, Israel gained independence in most of the areas that Jewish people had settled on in the previous decades leading up to the War of Independence. But there was one startling exception – the Old City of Jerusalem. Israel had a tiny force of soldiers that fought against hundreds of Jordanian invaders. Following weeks of fierce battle in close quarters, the Jewish fighters finally gave in. There were even Jewish children, under the age of 13, who fought and were killed in the battle. What followed was nineteen years of Jordanian occupation of the Old City of Jerusalem while the Jewish State bordered the Old City of Jerusalem less than a block away. No Jew could pray in the Old City at the Western Wall, and certainly walk up to the Temple Mount above.

But in 1967, Israel was forced into a defensive war following an invasion by three armies, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. The cause for the fighting was the closing of Israeli shipping by Egypt at the Straits of Tiran. When diplomacy bore no fruit, Israel responded with a lightning Air Force strike that wiped out most of the Air Forces of the Arab countries surrounding her. That was followed by shooting from Jordan into the Jewish part of Jerusalem. Israel had tried everything to convince Jordan to stay out of the fray. But Jordan insisted on taking part in the victory they thought was imminent. What resulted was a total victory by the State of Israel over Jordan. Israel liberated the ancient cities of Hebron, Shechem, Beth-El, and of course – the Old City of Jerusalem.


So, why is the Temple Mount not free for Jewish people to pray on it? The answer is very simple. The Israeli leadership – especially in 1967 – has been disconnected from much of the Jewish traditions that have fueled the continuity of the Jewish people for generations. Therefore, the Israeli government handed the keys to the Temple Mount to Arab religious leaders right at the end of the Six Day War instead of making sure to insure Jewish rights in the holiest site of the Jewish people. But the Jewish disconnect from tradition is gradually changing in the State of Israel. As the country becomes more and more connected to it’s roots, the calls for a return to sovereignty and Jewish control over the Temple Mount are also growing. At the very least, every Jewish Holy Site should never be used as a playground.

The Splitting of the Sea
The exodus is a powerful and inspirational story of uprising against oppression and of divine intervention. But did it really happen? Can any of the story be substantiated by empirical evidence? Are chariot wheels found on the floor of the red sea that date back to 1400 BCE enough to prove that the red sea actually split. Did the Israelites and the Egyptians actually passed through on dry land as the Bible relates?

The question here is a question of faith as opposed to empirical proof. The Jewish People have lived and died based on their faith throughout the centuries. It is exciting to discover evidence that the splitting of the Red Sea took place. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that faith becomes a thing of the past. It connects us to the Bible stories like nothing else.

But in 1967, when the State of Israel liberated the Temple Mount, the Jewish people were reunited to the Temple Mount and began praying for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple from right outside the Holy Site. The Jewish people allowed the Arabs to continue to pray on the Temple Mount, but did not hold on to control of the site. The Arab Waqf was handed control of the site. That is the source of the problems today. The Waqf continues to be the main driver of Arab violence on Israel’s holiest site.

In this speech, Pollard calls out for a properly proud Jewish response that will reclaim the Jewish control over the site. This is controversial – but it should not be. He is right in noting that what should be obvious for most people is not when it comes to Israel. Any sovereign country should not have any trouble in asserting sovereignty over it’s most hallowed religious sites. Saudi Arabia would never consider renouncing it’s control over Mecca. Israel’s control over the Temple Mount should be an obvious move. The Bennett-Lapid-Abbas coalition is shaky and within 24 hours already lost definitive control over at least two of its 61 members – making it a minority government.

If Bennett reacts with a weak hand, he will prove that a minority government backed by Arab support is untenable. If he reacts in a strong manner he very well could see the end of his coalition through the abandonment of the Arab Raam party.

In fact the head of Raam has already said the following today: “The flag parade in Jerusalem today is a restrained provocation, consisting of shouts of hatred and incitement to violence, and an attempt to set the area on fire for political purposes,” Abbas said, adding: “The Minister of Internal Security and the police should have abolished it. I call on all parties not to escalate and maintain maximum restraint.”


Given all of this, one has to wonder if Bennett understood what he was getting himself into. More than that, running a country like Israel is not some sort of musical chairs where just anyone gets to sit in the Prime Minister’s chair just because there is a loophole to be toyed with.

The understandings of the present “Change” Coalition are supposed to help the grouping focus on internal issues, but like anything else in Israel, nothing exists in a vacuum. Ignoring ongoing security issues as well as geopolitical landmines like Judea and Samaria is effectively pretending to be running a Costa Rica, not the Jewish State.

Today’s Jerusalem flag march may not take down the coalition, but effectively already sets it on a path for dismemberment. The real question why Bennett would enter a coalition and effectively eradicate his political career. The very question reveals just how unsuitable the newest Prime Minster really is for the job.

The world might look at this as Israeli aggression because the world doesn’t care about the truth. Israel may soon abandon its diplomatic achievements because Yair Lapid and most of his partners in the new coalition want to erase the achievements of Benjamin Netanyahu.
Over the past decade, for the first time in its history, Israel developed a strong diplomatic posture in the region and worldwide. Israel developed strategic ties with Arab states, and the states of the eastern Mediterranean. It has built close ties with the E.U.’s Visegrád Group of central European states, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Austria and Italy. Israel upgraded its diplomatic and trade relations with states in Africa and Central and South America, as well as with India, Japan and South Korea.

Unfortunately, it is likely that all Israel achieved through painstaking effort may be lost after the new governing coalition led by Yair Lapid takes power. This is the case for three reasons.


First, Benjamin Netanyahu is the author of Israel’s diplomatic triumphs. They are predicated on his foreign-policy vision that diplomatic ties are built on common interests even more than ideology and that Israel has much to offer the nations of the world. There are many things that divide the members of the incoming governing coalition, but they agree on one thing—they all hate Netanyahu. So, the first reason Israel may soon abandon its diplomatic achievements is because Lapid and most of his partners in the coalition want to erase Netanyahu’s accomplishments.

The second reason Israel’s diplomatic position is likely to soon crash is that Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz along with most of their partners do not share Netanyahu’s diplomatic vision. Lapid is set to become foreign minister. Israel’s elite encompasses the political left, the media, the senior brass of the security establishment and the senior leadership of the foreign and justice ministries, and right-wingers who prefer their company and plaudits to those of members of their own camp. Israel’s elites, almost to a man, believe Israel’s diplomatic position is exclusively a function of its relations with the Beltway establishment. The closer Israel is to the American ruling class, the stronger it is internationally. The weaker Israel’s relations with the American elite, the weaker its international posture.


The third reason Israel’s decade of diplomatic achievements is likely to end in short order is that as America-obsessed elitists, Lapid, Gantz and their ilk don’t understand the importance or potential of what Netanyahu has accomplished. They will not dedicate the necessary resources to maintain the ties he forged with the likes of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz or Brazil’s President Javier Bolsonaro, because they don’t value those ties. So the ties will wither.

This then brings us to Washington, the only place that matters for the incoming cabinet ministers.

On Monday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken testified before House and Senate committees. His remarks showed that just as Lapid and his colleagues are set to tear down Netanyahu’s legacy, President Joe Biden, Blinken and their advisers have taken an industrial-sized eraser to Donald Trump’s policies and achievements in the Middle East.

Take the Golan Heights. In 2019, Trump recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the strategic enclave along its borders with Syria and Jordan. When asked whether the Biden administration also recognizes Israel’s sovereignty, Blinken responded, “As a practical matter, Israel has control of the Golan Heights, irrespective of its legal status, and that will have to remain unless and until things get to a point where Syria and everything operating out of Syria no longer poses a threat to Israel, and we are not anywhere near that.”

Or the shorter answer: No.

Then there’s Iran. Democrat senators on Monday joined their Republican colleagues in demanding clarifications about the administration’s nuclear diplomacy with Iran. The 2015 nuclear deal, to which the administration is committed, placed temporary restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities and in exchange, gave Iran an open road to a military nuclear capability by 2030 and $150 billion in sanctions relief. Trump abandoned the deal in 2018 because Iran was breaching the deal’s restrictions on its nuclear actions and reinstated U.S. economic sanctions that the Obama administration lifted.

The Democrat and Republican lawmakers asked how canceling U.S. economic sanctions on Iran would achieve the goal of limiting Iran’s nuclear activities given that Tehran had been breaching the deal’s limitations on its nuclear activities all along. They wanted to understand why Iran would agree to longer and stronger restrictions on its nuclear work in the future, as Blinken promises, if the 2015 deal gives them an open path to the bomb. And they wanted to know if Blinken could guarantee that money from sanctions relief wouldn’t end up in the coffers of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Blinken responded to all of the questions with a non-sequitur.
“Its [Iran’s nuclear] program is galloping forward. … The longer this goes on, the more the breakout time gets down. … It’s now down, by public reports, to a few months at best. And if this continues, it will get down to a matter of weeks,” he said.

Blinken’s alarmist view wasn’t a preamble to a call for military strikes against Iran’s nuclear installations or even for an announcement of a new strategy of maximum economic pressure aimed at collapsing the regime.

To the contrary, Blinken said that in light of the dimensions and urgency of the threat, the United States needs to immediately return to the 2015 deal, that is, give Iran billions of dollars in sanctions relief, to “put the nuclear problem in a box.”

In plain English, Blinken said that the senators’ concerns were irrelevant. The administration’s policy goal is not to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power and a regional hegemon. The administration’s goal is to be Iran’s friend.

Just days before Blinken renounced U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and said the goal of U.S. policy towards Iran is to be the ayatollahs’ friend even if that means letting Iran become a nuclear-armed regional hegemon, he met his “friend” Benny Gantz at the State Department. Clearly, the meeting made no impression on Blinken. If Gantz had hoped that “good chemistry” with the Biden crowd would make it possible for him to influence them, he was doubtlessly disappointed.

Sometime in 2014, Netanyahu realized that then-president Barack Obama and his team—which is now Biden’s team—had no intention of preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear-armed hegemonic power. He reacted to this realization by spending the last eight years developing an interest-based alliance with the Arab Gulf states who are also threatened by Iran.

The Trump administration welcomed this alliance. The Biden administration is so hostile to it that Biden opened an offensive against Saudi Arabia immediately after he entered office. The administration refuses to call the Abraham Accords by their name. And during Hamas’s recent mini-war against Israel, the administration reportedly pressured Abraham Accords member states the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco to condemn Israel’s efforts to destroy Hamas’s missile capabilities. There is no doubt that Netanyahu spent long hours working to ensure that no such condemnations were made.

Facing the administration’s visceral hostility to Israel’s ties with the Sunni Arab states, Lapid, Gantz and their colleagues will be far less likely to move heaven and earth to maintain them.

Then there’s Jerusalem. Last Monday, 16 Republican senators signed a letter to Biden expressing their opposition to the administration’s plan to open a consulate in Jerusalem for the Palestinian Authority and to reopen the PLO’s representative office in Washington. They explained that Trump closed the consulate as required by the Jerusalem Embassy Act. He closed the PLO office in D.C. because it operated in breach of the Promoting Justice and Security for Victims of Terrorism Act, otherwise known as the Taylor Force Act. Opening a consulate in Jerusalem and reopening the PLO office in Washington would both be contrary to U.S. law, they noted.

While the senators were doubtlessly right, the administration is committed to following through on its plan. The only way Biden and his advisers may feel compelled to change course is if their efforts are met with trenchant opposition.

It won’t get any from Lapid’s coalition. Labor leader and incoming transportation minister Merav Michaeli said last week she intends to cancel 1.5 billion shekels ($462 million) now budgeted for improving roads in Judea and Samaria. Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas is ideologically aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood. Not only will he not oppose opening a consulate to the P.A. in Jerusalem, he might attend the opening of a U.S. diplomatic mission in Israel’s capital that is dedicated to serving Israel’s Palestinian enemies.

One of Israel’s greatest diplomatic assets in recent years has been the close ties it cultivated with E.U. member states led by nationalist leaders. Time after time, these leaders blocked efforts by the E.U. leadership in Brussels to condemn Israel.

The leader who has done the most to block E.U. condemnations of Israel has been Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The most outspoken critic of ties between Jerusalem and Budapest has been Lapid. When Orbán came to Israel on an official visit, Lapid referred to the event as a “national disgrace,” because Orbán has expressed admiration for Hungary’s wartime leader and Nazi collaborator Admiral Horthy. Like the heads of the U.S. Jewish community with whom he is closely allied, Lapid is deeply hostile to European nationalist leaders despite their enthusiastic support for Israel. As foreign minister, Lapid is likely to harpoon Israel’s ties to the Visegrád Group and so destroy Israel’s ability to prevent E.U. condemnations of Israel.

What about Naftali Bennett? Where will the prime minister-designate be in all of this? Even in the unlikely event that Bennett will want to maintain Netanyahu’s policies, he won’t have the power to do so. Although in theory the government is supposed to give equal weight to its right and left-wing members, it is hard to see how this will manifest itself in practice.

Avigdor Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu party is still considered a right-wing party, but Lieberman has adopted the left’s positions on nearly every issue. It is hard to imagine that he would side with Bennett on anything controversial, particularly if it involves maintaining Netanyahu’s legacy. And even if Lieberman sides with Bennett, they won’t have the power to force Lapid to do anything he doesn’t want to do. At best, they will be able to block him from doing some things that they don’t want him to do.

If Bennett decides to act independently as prime minister on behalf of Jerusalem, or the Golan Heights, or blocking Iran from getting the bomb, or anything at all that Lapid and the left oppose, he will find himself raked over the coals by his coalition partners and the media. Without a political base, Bennett—like his fellow right-winger New Hope Party leader Gideon Sa’ar—will quickly be presented with two options. He can either adopt the ideological positions of the left, as Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni and Ariel Sharon did before him, or he can bring down the government and leave public life.

It has taken the Biden administration less than six months to unravel Trump’s achievements in Israel and the wider Middle East. We can expect the incoming government to unravel Israel’s diplomatic position on their first day in power.

1. Israel has a new government. Whether or not it will last (how could it?) or whether or not it reflects my political views, I'm taking a moment to be grateful that I live in Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, where we are free to cobble together such a disparate coalition and where the reins of power were peacefully handed over. Let's not take any of this for granted.

2. I'm grateful for not having subscribed to Richard Dawkins' odious view that it would be best to reduce "undesirable" populations, like people with Downs Syndrome, by preventing them from being born in the first place (read Jeff Jacoby's incisive article Richard Dawkins and Eugenics). I cannot imagine life without the infectious love, joy, and nachas my son Yehuda, who has Downs, gives my wife and me every day.

3. I am grateful that young passionate Jews like Chaya Arbiv have the kind of commitment, passion and willingness to move beyond their comfort zone in order to fulfill their vision of what it means to be a Jew. Chaya left the comfort and security of Chicago to move to Israel, alone, when she was only 15 years old! (Read about her experience here.) What a powerful response to antisemitism.

4. I am grateful that there are people like Michael Neumann in the world. This is the new settlement of Evyatar, which has already been razed several times since it was first established in 2013 after the murder of Yitzhar resident Evyatar Borovsky in a stabbing attack at the Tapuah Junction.

Following the terrorist attack at that same location in May that killed Yehuda Guetta, the pioneering Jewish forces once again thought to reestablish Evyatar as the correct Jewish-Zionist response to show our enemies that their terror won’t deter us. Our enemies try to destroy and kill, and we respond by building and living.

Following Hamas’ massive rocket attack on Israel, along with wide-scale Israeli Arab Muslim riots that terrorized Jewish citizens across Israel, Jews went into action and reestablished Evyatar again. This time, the community has quickly grown over the last two months, growing to roughly 40 buildings. 50 families have already moved in with another 75 families on a waiting list.

The Israeli Defense minister has already ordered the IDF to destroy the community while PM Netanyahu has ordered him to stop the demolition. Can you imagine? The IDF destroying a JEWISH community? It has happened before sadly, and hopefully, it won’t happen again.

It seems like the Arab Muslims wanted to get in on the attack and attack the community to try to embarrass the State of Israel even more, trying to show that their violence pays off with Israel destroying Jewish communities.

Evyatar will be one of the first challenges for the new incoming prime minister, right-winger Naftali Bennett, at the head of a coalition with anti-Zionist leftist parties as well as the Muslim Brotherhood Ra’am party. He will be pressured by his own Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, to destroy Evyatar and evacuate the 50 families living there. What will he do?

When will there be peace in the Middle East? The answer is quite simple. When the Arabs put their weapons down and stop trying to kill Jews in Israel. When will that happen? It can happen in two different ways. Either the Arabs will lose interest in attacking Jews and Israel or they will feel powerless against the enormous might of the Israeli Armed Forces. It is really that simple. Today, neither of those two conditions stands. So, there is no peace in the Middle East.

The Middle East is not the only place in the world with seemingly intractable problems. The Ukraine has been a bone of contention between Russia and Europe for centuries. Yugoslavia has seen strife between it’s inhabitants for centuries. The Far East has not had a long span of quiet and peace for more than a few decades.

But yes, the Middle East is indeed different. Israel – until recently stood alone against a myriad number of Arab states. But today, it has signed a few peace agreements with the more moderate Arab countries – the type of countries that fear Iran and ISIS more than they fear the State of Israel. But Iran and ISIS still exist today. Iran works with Hamas and Hizbullah – both of whom are perched right next to Israeli border towns – on the southwestern end of Israel and the northern border. They are enemies who’s goal is no different than the goals of ISIS. They want to bring down the West and Israel. If they would have the power to, they would bomb Israel into oblivion. Actually, they have attempted just that. But Israeli and Western technology has since rebuffed those efforts.
The key to peace in the Middle East is Israel’s use of disproportionate force. If Hamas-ISIS and Hizbullah in the North know that for every bomb that they shoot in Israel, they will have 10-20 bombs rained down on their terror bunker network, they will think twice. The bully’s of the world only understand force. Ultimately, they will cry “uncle” and crawl into the negotiating table. That’s how you get to a peaceful resolution in the Middle East.

CNN’s attitudes towards the State of Israel are reflected more via the personality of Christianne Amanpour. She has taken a purely anti-Israel angle since the 1980’s. Now, she is recognized as an authority on nearly every international issue. She never has any trouble finding the way to bash Israel no matter what the issue is. Here she is hoping that the new rival of Benjamin Netanyahu will bash the Israeli policy of vaccinating it’s own citizens first and then vaccinating the Arabs of the Palestinian Authority. But after she realizes that she has met her match and will not succeed in duping Gideon Saar into her trap, she immediately silences him.
The tactic of silencing your interviewee is exactly the opposite of what a good interviewer ought to do. Amanpour is excellent at her craft. But she has an axe to grind whenever it comes to Israel, and is only looking for pro-“Palestinian” and anti-Netanyahu interviewees. This is the key when being attacked by the fake news outlets – don’t give in, but hit back with the facts.
Gideon Saar is one of the younger politicians in Israel vying to be the next Prime Minister of Israel. Although he has established himself as a foe of Prime Minister Netanyahu, they actually agree on many issues. Netanyahu is simply very skilled at keeping any potential up and coming leaders from gaining too much power against him within the Likud Party. So, instead of fighting from within, Saar and others have created their own new party in order to fight from the outside. Saar has served as the Minister of Education, and is considered a heavyweight among the younger generation of Likud Party leaders. Don’t be surprised if he ends up joining a Netanyahu-led government even though he expressly pledged to not do that when announcing his new political party.

Lempert told Frost that Biden wanted the United Kingdom to settle its dispute with the E.U. even if that meant making “unpopular compromises.”


She suggested that in his robust negotiations with the E.U., Frost was threatening to undermine the 1998 Northern Ireland “Good Friday” peace agreement.

The row centers on part of the Brexit deal with the E.U. known as the Northern Ireland Protocol, which resulted from the British government’s desperate attempt to untie a Gordian knot created by the Good Friday Agreement.

That agreement brought to an end years of terrorist violence between Northern Ireland’s majority Protestants and its Catholic minority, and against the British who had tried to keep the peace in this province of the United Kingdom.

Crucially, it involved an open border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The agreement thus created a delicate balance between its guarantee to Northern Ireland’s Protestants that the island of Ireland would not be unified without their consent, and the simultaneous impression for Catholic Republicans of one seamless Irish territory of which the open border was a key feature.

Since the Republic of Ireland remains in the E.U. while Northern Ireland left it along with the rest of the United Kingdom, the problem arose of trade checks with the province that the E.U. would now require.

In order to avoid creating a “hard” border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland, the British government decided instead to leave the province inside the E.U.’s economic “single market.” This meant making the required E.U. checks on goods traffic between Northern Ireland and the British mainland.

This effectively created an invisible economic border down the middle of the Irish Sea, thus abandoning Northern Ireland’s Protestant Unionists to an anomalous limbo land. The only way through this political minefield was for people of good faith in Brussels and Dublin to adopt the lightest of touches to border trade controls.

According to Frost, the E.U. has been insisting instead on an over-the-top application of these controls, thus risking reigniting violent Protestant agitation.

Into this complex and potentially incendiary situation has waded Joe Biden. He is insisting that Britain cave into the E.U.’s demand for the protocol to be applied to the letter on the basis that this is needed to preserve the Good Friday Agreement. What he fails to grasp is that, according to a key architect of that peace deal, Lord Trimble, the protocol itself subverts and undermines that agreement.

Accordingly, he wrote this week, the E.U.’s false claim that it was protecting the agreement in its fight with Britain was stirring up Protestant anger and rising tensions on the streets.

Yet Biden is actually backing that claim. Far from promoting peace, what he is advocating will instead further increase the risk of renewed sectarian violence in the province.

The similarities with his approach to Israel are striking. Over Northern Ireland, he is blackmailing Britain into abandoning its legal and moral obligations to the province’s Protestants and imperiling their security.

As seen in the recent hostilities between Israel and Hamas, when the United States demanded an Israeli ceasefire even while rocket barrages from Gaza were still being fired at Israeli towns, Biden also tries to pressure Israel into undermining its security and its defense of its people.

His administration’s approach to both these flashpoints is based on a chronic failure to acknowledge reality.

Emotionally invested in Northern Ireland through his own Irish Catholic ancestry, Biden twists the facts to the Catholic narrative and totally ignores Britain’s legal and moral duty towards the Protestant community.

While he personally supports Israel, the administration he has created refuses to acknowledge the existential nature of Palestinian rejectionism. These officials view the Arab war against Israel instead through the distorting prism of moral equivalence, which twists the facts to indulge the Palestinians who aim to destroy it.

Just as Biden’s interference threatens to undermine the Good Friday Agreement, his administration’s interference in the Middle East by re-empowering the Palestinians, appeasing Iran, and trying to drive a wedge between Israel and Saudi Arabia threatens to undermine the most important development for peace in the region for a century: the Abraham Accords.

Indeed, according to The Washington Free Beacon, the Biden administration won’t even use this term, ordaining that the accords be referred to only as “normalization agreements.”

This petulance and spite towards a historic agreement that has made a mockery of the Foggy Bottom consensus on Israel and the Palestinians tells us that the Biden administration’s attitude to the Middle East is based not on realism or pragmatism, but on emotion and ideology.

It shows that the administration will deny hard facts in order to preserve fantasies, such as Palestinian “victimhood” and the illusory two-state solution, that define today’s progressive identity.

Israel itself is currently in the throes of unprecedented political convulsions. On Sunday, Benjamin Netanyahu’s 12-year stint as prime minister is set to end when an improbable coalition of rightists, leftists, centrists and the Arab Ra’am Party is due to be sworn in as Israel’s government.

With no one able to say with certainty that such a coalition will even endure, it’s impossible to predict what its policies will be. No one can say whether the rightists will abandon principle and allow themselves to be held hostage by the left; or whether the left will swallow right-wing policies to stay in power; or whether the Ra’am leader really will abandon his Islamist holy war against Israel and settle for the pragmatic priority of improving the lot of Israel’s Arab citizens.

Despite these unknowables, there are hopes in the progressive world that the very existence of such a coalition will soften Western hostility to Israel and break down barriers with the Biden administration.

Yet whatever the coalition does, Western hostility won’t dissipate because it is based on an irrational hatred that treats any concession Israel may make as merely a further sign of its innate perfidy.

As for the Biden administration, stuffed with officials who either hate or are indifferent to Israel and the Jewish people, the only Israeli policies that would break down such barriers are those that would leave Israel twisting in the genocidal wind.

In Northern Ireland the Republican Sinn Féin Party, which has a history of rank anti-Semitism, promotes the left-wing Israel demonization agenda, while the Republic of Ireland is one of the most extreme anti-Israel countries in Europe. In stark contrast, Northern Ireland’s Protestants have long been strong supporters of Israel. They identify with the Israelis’ struggle against existential foes, global disdain and perfidious “friends.”

With the Biden administration’s perverse interference in their own affairs, further endangering their security while doing the same to the Israelis, these two causes are now joined at the hip against an America that has lost the geopolitical plot.

Jeremy Corbyn has sparked renewed fury after telling Cambridge University’s debating society that former Jewish MP Luciana Berger “was not hounded out of the Party.”

Appearing before the Cambridge Union the ex-Labour leader was responding to a comment by the society’s President Joel Rosen who had asked him what he had done to stop the Liverpool Wavertree MP from being “hounded out” of the party.


Corbyn’s responded by saying: “Luciana was not hounded out of the party.

“She unfortunately decided to resign from the party.”


The Islington MP then added he was not suggesting Berger was wrong to quit Labour.

He recalled how he had appointed her as his shadow minister for mental health and said they had worked well together.

Corbyn added:”We gave her all the support she needed and deserved.”

The ex-leader said people had been prosecuted as a result of the abuse Berger was forced to endure.

But he then added:”She received appalling abuse, Diane Abbott received appalling abuse – and so did Dawn Butler.”

At one stage Corbyn was given the opportunity to reflect on his meetings in the past with terrorist sympathisers and Holocaust deniers.

But sources at the debate said rather than offer genuine regret he merely repeated his regular claim to be a committed anti-racist.

Asked about his reluctance to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism in full, Corbyn denied he did not listen to the Jewish community while he was leader.

He repeated his concerns about examples in the definition that are alleged to stifle debate on Israel and the Palestinians.
Corbyn said the debate over Palestine “should and never would I hope descend into any antisemitism on those issues.”

Another Jewish Labour member Jack Lubner, was also applauded by many in the audience, as he outlined his frustrations at Corbyn’s past record.

Rosen told Jewish News after the debate: “After five years enduring an institutionally antisemitic party I was struck that Mr Corbyn didn’t take the opportunity to take even a modicum of responsibility for the unlawful discrimination and harassment perpetuated by the party he led.”

Another attendee said that despite being an overwhelming non-Jewish audience there was considerable anger amongst most in the room over Corbyn’s failure to comprehend any past failings.

Elsewhere in the debate Rosen recalled his own experiences of being a Labour Party member and allegations of antisemitic conduct from party members.

He said for wearing a kippah he feared he would be subjected to harassment and abuse when attending Labour members.

At one stage Rosen recalled the words of Andrew Murray, chief of staff at the Unite union, who said Corbyn did not understand antisemitism properly.

Corbyn said he represented many Jews in his Islington constituency and that they were among his supporters.

Asked how he reconciled the “lived experiences” of Jewish members in Labour, Corbyn said he had set up the party’s governance and legal unit to tray to deal with these issues.

Rosen then read out Andrew Murray’s assessment of the left-wing failure on antisemitism and the struggle of those such as Corbyn to view Jews in the same was as other minorities.

“I don’t agree with Andrew’s characterisation of what he perceives my views to be. He’s never had that discussion with me. He knows me quite well and I was surprised to read that in his book. ”

Corbyn said it was “unfair” to suggest he did not understand the Jewish community.

He said:”I represent a very mixed constituency – included within that many Jewish people.

“Within that would be many Jewish people – both those who would be followers roughly of the position of the Board of Deputies, and followers of Jewish Socialist Group, Jewish Voice For Labour – a very large number of people, more in Hackney than my area from the Charedi community, who actually do suffer serious poverty.”

Corbyn also claimed he had inherited a “dysfunctional party” that was poor at tackling antisemitism when he became leader.

He said this was why he appointed Baroness Chakrabarti to conduct her report.

Corbyn that said “it is hard to track down” some of those who hide behind false names on social media to abuse people. He added this made it hard to determine if they were Labour members.

Corbyn added: “No antisemitic or racist stuff is ever done in my name. I would not tolerate or never allow it.

“Let’s get that clear.

The Islington MP then added he was not suggesting Berger was wrong to quit Labour.

He recalled how he had appointed her as his shadow minister for mental health and said they had worked well together.

Corbyn added:”We gave her all the support she needed and deserved.”

The ex-leader said people had been prosecuted as a result of the abuse Berger was forced to endure.

But he then added:”She received appalling abuse, Diane Abbott received appalling abuse – and so did Dawn Butler.”

At one stage Corbyn was given the opportunity to reflect on his meetings in the past with terrorist sympathisers and Holocaust deniers.

But sources at the debate said rather than offer genuine regret he merely repeated his regular claim to be a committed anti-racist.

Asked about his reluctance to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism in full, Corbyn denied he did not listen to the Jewish community while he was leader.

He repeated his concerns about examples in the definition that are alleged to stifle debate on Israel and the Palestinians.
Corbyn said the debate over Palestine “should and never would I hope descend into any antisemitism on those issues.”

Another Jewish Labour member Jack Lubner, was also applauded by many in the audience, as he outlined his frustrations at Corbyn’s past record.

Rosen told Jewish News after the debate: “After five years enduring an institutionally antisemitic party I was struck that Mr Corbyn didn’t take the opportunity to take even a modicum of responsibility for the unlawful discrimination and harassment perpetuated by the party he led.”

Another attendee said that despite being an overwhelming non-Jewish audience there was considerable anger amongst most in the room over Corbyn’s failure to comprehend any past failings.

Elsewhere in the debate Rosen recalled his own experiences of being a Labour Party member and allegations of antisemitic conduct from party members.

He said for wearing a kippah he feared he would be subjected to harassment and abuse when attending Labour members.

At one stage Rosen recalled the words of Andrew Murray, chief of staff at the Unite union, who said Corbyn did not understand antisemitism properly.

Corbyn said he represented many Jews in his Islington constituency and that they were among his supporters.

Asked how he reconciled the “lived experiences” of Jewish members in Labour, Corbyn said he had set up the party’s governance and legal unit to tray to deal with these issues.

Rosen then read out Andrew Murray’s assessment of the left-wing failure on antisemitism and the struggle of those such as Corbyn to view Jews in the same was as other minorities.

“I don’t agree with Andrew’s characterisation of what he perceives my views to be. He’s never had that discussion with me. He knows me quite well and I was surprised to read that in his book. ”

Corbyn said it was “unfair” to suggest he did not understand the Jewish community.

He said:”I represent a very mixed constituency – included within that many Jewish people.

“Within that would be many Jewish people – both those who would be followers roughly of the position of the Board of Deputies, and followers of Jewish Socialist Group, Jewish Voice For Labour – a very large number of people, more in Hackney than my area from the Charedi community, who actually do suffer serious poverty.”

Corbyn also claimed he had inherited a “dysfunctional party” that was poor at tackling antisemitism when he became leader.

He said this was why he appointed Baroness Chakrabarti to conduct her report.

Corbyn that said “it is hard to track down” some of those who hide behind false names on social media to abuse people. He added this made it hard to determine if they were Labour members.

Corbyn added: “No antisemitic or racist stuff is ever done in my name. I would not tolerate or never allow it.

“Let’s get that clear.

Nearly every major leader of every country that visits Israel visits the Western Wall and Yad Vashem – Israel’s National Holocaust Museum. It is very rare to see Arab leaders visiting Yad Vashem. But the world is now a different place. Seeing Arabs – in kaffiyehs – saying the words, “Never Again,” should move anybody wo cares about the future of Israeli-Arab relations.

The Trump Administration and the Carter Administration have one thing in common. They engineered major peace agreements between Arab countries and Israel. Jimmy Carter is no friend of Israel, but he must be given credit for helping Egypt and Israel avert any further wars from 1979 onward. It hasn’t been a warm peace, but it has held.

Donald Trump helped Israel and the smaller Arab countries that have major economic incentives to work with Israel to sit at a table and make major economic agreements that would bring the countries together for a brighter future. Ten years ago, nobody would have thought that United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and hopefully soon – Saudi Arabia, would sit down and iron out agreements with the State of Israel to advance stability in the Middle East.

Arab leaders who visit Yad Vashem is an historic event – any way you look at it. Netanyahu, Trump, and especially the Arab leaders who have turned over a new page, deserve enormous credit for these giant steps forward in the Middle East.

Another anti-Semitic hate crime in Brooklyn. The hatred keeps growing. The antisemitism isn’t stopping. This man threatened three religious Jewish boys, saying he was going to stab and kill them. He pulled out a knife and waited for them outside. Before police showed up, he fled. The police took a report and are looking for the suspect.

What is happening throughout the world is not a joke. And we cannot considered all these antisemitic attacks isolated attacks. It is happening too often to be considered “isolated.” These events are not rare events.

Jews are scared to walk the streets alone. Many feel they need to look over their shoulders while they walk. What century are we living in? And we are talking about places like America here! How is there so much hatred in the world? How do so many people still not feel that all lives are valuable?

If this happened against people of any other race or religion, the world would go wild. But when it’s against Jews, the world seems so silent.

With only days remaining to Netanyahu’s tenure as Prime Minister, the attack may be a parting shot at the Iranians who believe they have now gotten the better of Israel by at lasting Netanyahu. Still, the attack coordinated with Gantz may also be a message to the USA that despite the change in government, the Bennett-Lapid policy on Iran is no different.

The Biden administration is pushing forward with its appeasement of the Mullah’s in hopes that it can lure them back to the 2015 nuclear deal. Israel has stood steadfast against this and despite the tonal differences between Netanyahu and Gantz when it comes to dealing with the Americans, actions against Iranian forward bases in Syria will remain the same.


The next government may not differ with Netanyahu when it comes to Iran, but it is world’s apart when it comes to Judea and Samaria, Israeli Arabs, and Religion and State. Most observers do not believe the new government will last long.

There was indeed an area in the Land of Israel that was called Palestine. Jews and Arabs referred to the area as Palestine. But Jews never referred to themselves as anything but Jews and Arabs referred to themselves as Arabs. There was never an idea of a separate Jewish identity called Palestinian Jews or a separate national identity of Arabs who referred to themselves as Palestinian Arabs. That is a marketing concept that was created by anti-Jewish Arabs who decided to invent a nationality in order to create a narrative that anti-Israelis could gather around to pressure Israel.

How did the fiction of a distinct Arab nationality, a so-called “Palestinian” entity become so accepted among so many? The true answer is that the new anti-Semites, the anti-Israel crowd needed a banner to fight for. The “rights” of a persecuted minority was the perfect fiction to create that would justify all Western oriented people to care about the “poor Palestinian” children. That is why no matter how horribly the Arabs treat their own children – by teaching them to be terrorists at the age of 3 or 4 years old – that is overlooked. It goes against the anti-Israel narrative. But to blame Israel for not turning the other cheek when Hamas-ISIS terrorists rain missiles on it’s towns and cities – filled with Jewish children – is blatant anti-Semitism. Let it be said loud and clear. Anyone who blames Israel for missiles that Hamas-ISIS shoots at Israeli children is a terrorist supporter.
