Even watching video footage of this is chilling. Can you imagine being there in the moment? The entire thing was nothing short of miraculous.
That moment. Can you imagine if you witnessed it yourself? If you were in Israel when it happened? The Six Day War was miraculous. Especially this moment.
The Six Day War
As seen and told in this video, it was impossible not to feel G-d’s presence during the Six Day War. It was impossible not to recognize the miracles. The whole world witnessed it. Perhaps the most poignant comment was the point made that the State of Israel was born just 3 years after Auschwitz, but the soul of the State of Israel was born 19 years later in 1967.
It is chilling seeing the footage of recapturing the Old City of Jerusalem. After all the other miracles, regaining control over Jerusalem was another gift from G-d.
People talk about miracles that occurred in Biblical times and in the times of the great sages before us, but we must recognize that miracles take place all the time now as well.
Never Stop Thanking G-d
We have to continue thanking G-d, year after year, day after day, for the unbelievable miracles of 1967. We have to thank Him that Jerusalem came back into Jewish hands. You can never thank G-d too much.
Amazing job by the leadership of the Los Angeles communities. May we all celebrate in Jerusalem with all of the Jewish people when the Temple is rebuilt.

How Der Spiegel Covered the Terrorist Car-Ramming In Jerusalem

The German magazine Der Spiegel, which has a history of anti-Israel bias, in late June was at it again, publishing an article that appeared at first to blame the Israeli police for shooting an inoffensive Palestinian.
The story is here. The title of the Spiegel article read: “Israeli soldiers shoot Palestinian at border crossing.”
The title first fixes the meaning in the reader’s mind. In this case, we have Israeli soldiers inexplicably shooting at an inoffensive Palestinian, who appears to have done nothing. Indeed, he was, we assume, likely stopped at the border crossing. That is not what happened. But the title insidiously has done damage to our apprehension of the story.
But then comes more detail in the first two sentences of the story:

A video showed the alleged Palestinian terrorist Ahmad Mustafa Erekat ramming his car into Israeli soldiers. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said Erekat “drove his vehicle quickly towards the direction of a female border police officer who was injured lightly.”

An “alleged Palestinian terrorist”? Apparently aiming his speeding vehicle toward a group of police is not enough to make you a “terrorist.” For Der Spiegel, you are still only “alleged.”

Let’s try a rewrite. First, here’s a much better title: “Palestinian attempting to run down Israeli police is shot.” Isn’t that what happened? And doesn’t it leave a different impression in the reader’s mind than “Israeli soldiers shoot Palestinian at border crossing”? Then comes the first sentence: “A video showed the Palestinian terrorist Ahmad Mustafa Erekat ramming his car into Israeli soldiers.” Use of the word “alleged” is flatly wrong, and the word has been removed. Erekat did drive his car at the Israeli police. It’s on video. There’s no denying it. Der Spiegel is here no different from a reporter who writes that “George Floyd died from an alleged neck-on-knee hold.” There is nothing “alleged” about that, or about what Erekat did. He committed an obvious act of vehicular terrorism, like so many Palestinian terrorists before him.

…When pressed by the Post if Spiegel plans to correct the headline, [Anja zum Hingst, a Spiegel spokeswoman] said “the first sentence of the lead says that the Palestinian quickly approached an official.” She added that “the report is based on official Israeli information. Of course we don’t see anything anti-Israel or antisemitic in this.”

So Erekat “quickly approached an official”? Oh, that’s okay then. But what about the speeding car he was driving?

The report is “based on official Israeli information,” so according to Anja zum Hingst, it can’t be anti-Israel or antisemitic. Of course it can. The report in Der Spiegel is quite different from the “official Israeli information” in what it conveys, beginning with that title – “Israeli soldiers shoot Palestinian at border crossing” and that mention of an “alleged terrorist.”

A sample of other media outlets shows the role of the alleged Palestinian terrorist in the attack on Israeli soldiers. The AP titled its article “Palestinian Driver Killed In Alleged Attack On Israeli Guard,” and an Israeli media outlet used the headline “Driver tries to ram cops near Jerusalem, is shot and killed — police.”…

Though the AP title retains the word “alleged” — the attack was not “alleged” — it does supply the information, as do all the other headlines, about an attempted car-ramming: “Driver…attack on Israeli guard,” “Driver tries to ram cops,” “Palestinian driver who attempted car-ramming”

The Der Spiegel title (we only have that, and the first two sentences of the report) does suggest that for no reason at all Israeli police decided to open fire on an innocent Palestinian driver. “Kind of randomly killed.”

…In an article on the Mena-Watch website, the German journalist, Alex Feuerherdt, accused the Spiegel of “double standards” against the Jewish state. He wrote that “an editorially edited agency announcement appears on the Spiegel website with the headline: ‘Man is said to have stabbed police officers in Glasgow.”’

In reporting on that attack, in Scotland, Der Spiegel described the attack clearly in the headline. Had it taken place in Israel, one suspects the magazine would have written “Israeli police shoot man walking on road” leaving it for the reader to later on discover that the “man on road” had stabbed Israeli police officers.

…He [Feuerhdert] noted that necessity [required] providing context to the readers “about the terrorist means of the Palestinian car-ramming attacks,” adding “that shouldn’t be too much to ask.”

The report should have had this “accurate sequence of events” and information: 1. Palestinian drives car at top speed toward group of police officers, in car-ramming attack.

Car-ramming is a very common tactic used by terrorists against Israelis.
He [Feuerhdert] noted that necessity [required] providing context to the readers “about the terrorist means of the Palestinian car-ramming attacks,” adding “that shouldn’t be too much to ask.”

No, it shouldn’t. Readers of this report in Der Spiegel deserved to be reminded that Muslim terrorists have rammed cars and trucks into crowds of Infidels in Nice, Barcelona, Paris, London, Vienna, Berlin, Antwerp, Stockholm, Edmonton, and New York, as well as in dozens of places in Israel.

As Feuerhdert says, “that shouldn’t be too much to ask.” But apparently, for Der Spiegel, it was.

A High Court judge, Mr Justice Saini, has ruled that statements made by former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn on the Andrew Marr programme in September 2018 could be held to be defamatory of the pro-Israel activist Richard Millett. The ruling means that the case can proceed to a full libel trial.
The case refers to comments made by Mr Corbyn when Andrew Marr asked him about previous remarks he had made about “Zionists” who, he believed, “do not understand English irony”.
At a preliminary hearing on June 23, Mr Justice Saini was asked to determine whether the meaning of Mr Corbyn’s remarks on the show justified a libel action.

Andrew Marr had asked Mr Corbyn about a 2013 speech he had made at a meeting convened by the Palestinian Return Centre. There he had commented on an event in Parliament days earlier, where the guest speaker was the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, Manuel Hassassian.
At the PRC event Mr Corbyn complained that some present at the meeting in Parliament were “thankfully silent Zionists” who had behaved in a “very, very abusive manner” towards Mr Hassassian.
He added that not only did they “not understand history”, but that “they did not understand English irony, either”, despite having lived in Britain for a long time.
In his nine-part judgement, delivered on Friday morning, the judge said: “I find that the words complained of referred to Mr Millett; that they bore a meaning defamatory of Mr Millett as identified above; and I find that the allegations were factual”. He said it was reasonable to conclude that Mr Corbyn’s comments referred to Mr Millett, even though he was not identified by name.

But he refused permission to Mr Millett to amend his claim against Mr Corbyn, by submitting an additional five articles in which the “English irony” speech was discussed.
In his judgement, Mr Justice Saini said, the original five articles referring to Mr Corbyn’s speech, all of which had appeared just a month before the Andrew Marr broadcast, would allow “a reasonable reader when watching the programme to conclude that Mr Millett was one of the ‘two people’ accused by Mr Corbyn. I do not consider memories would have faded. Overall I conclude that Mr Millett’s case has been made out on the basis of the original articles before me”.
Richard Millett’s lawyer, Mark Lewis, said: “The judge rejected the argument that Jeremy Corbyn was not referring to Richard Millett when he defended his ‘irony statement’ on the Andrew Marr programme. The case can now proceed to trial.

The government is facing legal action over its decision to build a national Holocaust memorial and learning centre in a Royal Park next to Parliament.
 
Secretary of State of Homes, Communities and Local Government Robert Jenrick MP is being challenged by the London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust over the process leading to a decision to build in Victoria Tower Gardens, beside the River Thames.
 
 
Jenrick’s department sought planning permission in January 2019 after former Prime Minister David Cameron’s Holocaust Commission, led by former Jewish Leadership Council chair Sir Mick Davis, recommended a national memorial somewhere central.

However a raft of heritage and environmental experts have warned that the damage and congestion that it could cause would outweigh the public benefit.
 
The Trust has played a leading role objecting to plans to build the memorial on “the last piece of publicly accessible land in central London”. The gardens are Grade II listed, sit alongside the Grade I listed Palace of Westminster, and lie partly within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the world-famous Westminster Abbey.
 
Working with other campaign groups, including Save Victoria Tower Gardens and the Thorney Island Society, the Trust has argued that ministers should reconsider the memorial’s location, citing the “undesirable impact” of the chosen design.
 
A planning decision was due to be taken by Westminster Council, which said it was minded not to grant permission, until Jenrick’s department stepped in and took over.
 
Successive prime ministers, including Theresa May, has maintained that the memorial will be built in Victoria Towers Gardens, and the current Conservative Government even made support for the memorial a manifesto commitment.
 
Last month lawyers acting for the Trust argued that the environmental impact of the proposals, which could cause great damage to the root systems of the Park’s 180-year old plane trees, was not carrying sufficient weight in forthcoming call-in inquiry, which is scheduled to begin on 6 October.
 
“The Trust contends that the proposals… represent an exceptionally serious intrusion into a very important green public open space,” argued its lawyers.
 
“The Trust has made clear that that it regards a new Holocaust Memorial with Learning Centre is a good idea, but that Victoria Tower Gardens is the wrong place for what is now proposed. This view is shared with many other objectors, including Westminster City Council and Baroness Ruth Deech.”
 
Deech is one of several Jewish peers to have expressed her objections to the memorial proposals, arguing that the £100 million should be spent on Holocaust education instead.
 
While lawyers for the Trust do not object to the call-in, they have called for a Judicial Review, and the case will be heard by Mr Justice Holgate at the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division.

The last few weeks have seen a herd mentality take hold and misrepresentations about Israel abound. There has been fevered discussion over Israel’s proposed application of civilian law to parts of Area C in the West Bank. The move is consistently misrepresented as “annexation” and a “violation” of international law. Both allegations are false. The misconceptions betray a concerning level of ignorance. Most importantly, they stand in the way of any informed debate about the pros and the cons of the move.

Hamza’s going home! Two-year-old Palestinian has life-saving heart op in Israel
Hamza Ali Mohammed will return to his family in Ramallah after spending two months on a breathing machine after open-heart surgery, supported by charity Save A Child's Heart
A two-year-old Palestinian boy who had a life-saving operation in Israel is set to return home after weeks spent recovering without his parents.

Hamza Ali Mohammed, who was born with potentially fatal congenital heart disease, had open-heart surgery at a hospital in Holon in February, while his parents waited anxiously in Ramallah, unable to travel due to the coronavirus lockdown.


The youngster was only kept alive with the help of a breathing machine as a medical team from the charity Save a Child’s Heart fought to save his life, and this week was finally set to return home after more than two months in critical condition.

While his mother and father had initially travelled to Israel with Hamza, they had returned to the Palestinian city for a short visit to see family and friends when strict lockdown conditions came into effect, rendering them unable to return to Holon.

“We all became his family,” said Dr Ahmed Amer, a paediatrician at Wolfson Medical Centre, where Hamza was treated in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and in the Paediatric Cardiology Unit.

“The whole medical team became his parents. The nurses did shifts to hold him and play with him. We did not leave him alone for a minute. A child his age and in his condition needs to be hugged and loved in order to recover and get stronger. That’s exactly what we gave him”.

Senior physician Dr Racheli Sion Sarid said the operation was extremely complicated.

“We tried to extubate Hamza a few times after surgery, but he had a hard time breathing by himself. We had to connect him to an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine. It kept him alive for a few weeks.”

Only after another operation in one of his lungs was Hamza able to begin breathing by himself again, and his parents were able to “see” his recovery with Amer sending them photos and updates daily.

“The first few times he saw them on video he began crying and it took us a long time to calm him down”, said Amer. “But he got used to it and we even celebrated his birthday a couple of weeks ago together with his parents on video. We brought a cake and balloons, and he was very happy.”

The toddler is now walking, laughing and playing, and soon he will be ready to return home to his family in the West Bank, prompting an emotional goodbye from the medics. “His story is amazing in many aspects” says Sarid. “It is a story of people, of human beings, helping each other regardless of their origin and religion.”

How do Israel’s police control violence in and around the Old City of Jerusalem? This is a very racially charged issue. The police are absolutely on the front-lines. There are radicalized Arabs who walk in narrow alleyways right next to the security forces. There is a constant state of tension – sometimes low-level, and sometimes, in a major way. Everybody is indeed a suspect. There have literally been thousands of attempted terror attacks in this area in the last few decades.

Outside of the walls is the key. Once the Old City has a terrorist inside of it’s alleyways, it can get very hairy to catch and apprehend a terrorist. So, modern technology is used to carefully observe all of the activity right outside the Old City walls. The officers have one goal – to save lives. They are not focused on the feelings of potential terrorists and on politically correct attitudes. They don’t focus on things like racially profiling. They just look for anything suspicious. This is the key to their success. Technology helps, tons of patience too. But the key is a clear goal to save lives.

As opposed to the progressive attitude that focuses on feelings and fairness of rioters, in Israel, the law and order norms that the police carry out are a given that are accepted as an absolute necessity. This is something that has been taken for granted in many countries. Without proper law and order, the social fabric of a society does indeed fall apart. Police work does require some understanding of delicate situations and does not always need to be handled by force. But as long as things like sanctuary cities and no-police zones are norms in certain areas, chaos will reign. Thank God, Israel is a country where everyone – including the Arabs – understands that chaos is the #1 enemy.

She had earlier appeared to draw a connection between Floyd’s death and Israel during a wide-ranging interview with The Independent, which upon being shared approvingly by Labour’s Rebecca Long Bailey led to the MP’s sacking from the front-bench yesterday amid condemnations from Jewish groups.

A correction was added to the interview, informing the reader the piece was amended to “further clarify that the allegation that US police were taught tactics of ‘neck kneeling’ by Israeli secret services is unfounded.”

A spokesperson for Labour leader Keir Starmer said the interview had “contained an antisemitic conspiracy theory.”

Some MPs, however, defended Long Bailey, including the former shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, who tweeted: “Throughout discussion of antisemitism it’s always been said criticism of practices of Israeli state is not antisemitic.”

Long Bailey later said sharing the piece had not been intended as an “endorsement of all aspects of the article.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1970, an El Al flight took off from Israel, headed for London. The plane was carrying 52 passengers and 11 crew members. Passengers included actress Hannah Meron and actor Assi Dayan, the son of then-Defense Minister Moshe Dayan. Meron and Dayan were going to audition for "Fiddler on the Roof."

At 12:30 the plane stopped in Munich for a connection, and 34 passengers got off. After a short wait in the terminal, the rest of the passengers got on a bus that would take them back to the aircraft. All of a sudden three Arab terrorists boarded the bus, armed with grenades and guns. They tried to hijack the vehicle. Captain Uri Cohen took down one of them, and the grenade the terrorist was holding exploded and blew off his hand. The German bus driver ignored the shouts not to allow the terrorist to board the bus. He opened the doors, and some of the passengers managed to get off, but then one of the terrorists threw a grenade inside the bus. Arie Katzenstein, 32, threw himself on the grenade – saving everyone else, but losing his own life. A total of 11 passengers were wounded, including Meron, who lost her left leg.

The three terrorists – two Jordanians and an Egyptian, all members of Dr. Issam Sartawi's Action Organization for the Liberation of Palestine – were captured by West Germany's security forces. They said they had planned to hijack the aircraft to Libya and demand that Israel release dozens of security prisoners in exchange for the hostages. The terrorists' trial was repeatedly postponed, supposedly for bureaucratic reasons, but really because Germany was in no rush to hold a trial that posed a security risk. All three were released in September 1970 as part of a deal between West Germany and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine that followed the hijacking of three passenger aircraft. Their release paved the way for the slaughter of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

A new study about the West German foreign ministry's attitude toward Israel from 1967-1979 exposes how West Germany buckled to Palestinian terrorism and the key role West German diplomacy played in the country adopting a kid-gloves policy toward the Palestinians.

Author of the study Dr. Remko Leemhuis, acting director of the Ramer Institute for German-Jewish Relations at the American Jewish Committee in Berlin, says that "the Palestinians learned very quickly that in Germany, like other countries, terrorism paid off, and when they extorted the West German government, it would give in."

"That conclusion clearly comes from conversations that representatives of the federal foreign ministry held with representatives of the Palestinians. Despite the Palestinians' friendly conduct, they made it clear that if the people they were talking to didn't do what the PLO wanted, the Palestinians couldn't promise that there wouldn't be more terrorist attacks on German soil. The German side was afraid of that.

"What is horrifying to me is that the German Foreign Ministry never held any discussion about finding a firm response to the Palestinian extortion. No one said, 'We won't let terrorists or Palestinians extort us.' They threw up their hands and freed terrorists.

Leemhuis says Germany could have responded differently.

"I found a document from the American State Department that stated explicitly that the US could talk to the PLO, but for that to happen, it had to meet certain conditions, such as recognizing Israel's right to exist," he says.

When West Germany and Israel launched diplomatic relations in May 1965, most Arab countries severed ties with Bonn and approached East Germany, instead.

Leemhuis says that establishing relations with Israel was a "disaster" for West German foreign policy.

"Official talk about balanced relations with Israel and Arab states was a trick intended to hide the [German] foreign ministry's true position, which was biased in favor of the Arabs," he says.

"The Arabs controlled the most important resource for the world economy, oil, whereas the small Jewish state didn't have much to offer. What's more, Israel was a liberal democracy, and all the Arab states were dictatorships who were making daily threats to wipe it out. So even then, it wasn't really possible to treat the two sides equally."

Arab terrorism against Israel, via Palestinian organizations, increased after the Arab countries that fought Israel were trounced in the 1967 Six-Day War. The terrorist groups focused on attacks outside Israel's borders, hoping to shake up its international position. The first such attack on West German soil was perpetrated in September 1969, when terrorists threw a grenade at the Israeli Embassy in Bonn. Luckily, no one was wounded.

Five months later, the El Al plane was attacked in Munich, heralding the start of Palestinian air terrorism in Europe. Only 11 days after the attempted hijacking in Munich, a bomb exploded in the cargo hold of an Austrian airplane that took off from Frankfurt and was headed to Tel Aviv, with a stopover in Vienna. The pilots managed to land in Frankfurt and avoid a major disaster. Terrorists also sent a bomb through the German postal system that was supposed to be sent on an El Al flight. But the package was placed on a Swissair plane and detonated in Swiss airspace, killing 74 passengers and crew.

Three days later, Germany's ambassador to Jordan reported that one of his aides had met with Issam Sartawi. The ambassador wrote that he had approved the meeting so that Germany could "better assess the danger that Sartawi's organization posed to German citizens in Jordan."

Sartawi expressed regret at how the attempted hijacking in Munich had played out, but said that his organization had chosen West Germany because it was very "pro-Israeli" and stressed that the attack had been designed to force the West German public to re-think the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and that he could not guarantee that his group would not decide to buck his instructions and carry out more attacks there.

The embassy aide promised to take steps to ensure that the German media did not report attacks by Sartawi's organization "inappropriately" and did not spread suspicion of Arabs and Palestinians.

German diplomacy waved a white flag. Sartawi ended the meeting with a tempting offer, expressing his willingness to avoid more attacks on German soil and against German institutions if the three members of his group who were arrested in Munich were released.

A short while later, Israel's foreign minister, Abba Eban, paid his first official visit to West Germany. He urged his hosts to hold Arab governments accountable for their support for the PLO and its terrorist activity. A few days passed, and Germany's ambassador to Jordan met with King Hussein. According to a report he sent to the German Foreign Ministry, he did not devote a single word of the meeting to the fact that Jordan was hosting the terrorist organization that had attacked the El Al plane in Munich.

In July 1970, that same ambassador met with a senior official in the Fatah organization. Leemhuis is almost certain that the Fatah official was Ali Hassan Salameh, who would eventually become a leader of the Black September group, which murdered the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics.

The ambassador reported that he had told Salameh that Germany had stopped all weapons shipments to Israel and that the Germany government, particularly then-Chancellor Willy Brandt, were consistently working toward a neutral German position in the Middle East and that the government wanted to show the Palestinians that it desired good relations with them.

Palestinian terrorist attacks were not limited to Germany. In July 1970, terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine hijacked an Olympic Airlines plane, demanding the release of seven terrorist imprisoned in Greece. Athens gave in. That September, the PFLP hijacked three more planes – TWA, Swissair, and Pan Am flights – to secure the release of terrorists. Two of the three hijacked planes were forced to land in Amman, as was a British plane that was hijacked later that month.

Terrorists were holding American, Israeli, German, and Swiss citizens hostage in Jordan. The separated the Jews from the rest of the passengers and demanded that terrorists imprisoned in Israel and in western Europe be released. The German government immediately signaled its willingness to meet their demands, and even pressured Israel to cooperate, sending a diplomat to meet in London with a representative of the World Jewish Congress, where he voiced concern that the deal did not include the Jewish and Israeli hostages.

Fearing a military mission to free the hostages, the terrorists moved them to various secret locations and blew up the aircraft. Attempts by the Red Cross to mediate failed, and the clock was ticking to a clash between the Jordanian army and the Black September group.

The German government decided to send the secretary-general of the ruling social-democratic party, Hans-Jurgen Wischnewski, a fervent supporter of the Algerian independence movement who had extensive connections in the Arab world, to Amman. Jerusalem saw him as pro-Arab. After a Red Cross delegation left Amman, Wischnewski met with Abu Maher Ghneim, one of the founders of the PFLP, who informed him that his group was willing to negotiate with each of the countries involved, separately.

Wischnewski urged Brandt to make an immediate announcement that Germany would be releasing the terrorists behind the Munich attack. Germany's ambassador to Jordan also kept up the pressure.

On Sept. 30 the terrorists were let out of Germany.

From 1968-1984, 48 of the Palestinian terrorist attacks in Europe were carried out on German soil. The deadliest was the slaughter of the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972 by eight members of Black September.

The man responsible for the planning and execution of the attacks was the man Germany's ambassador had met within Jordan, Ali Hassan Salameh.

Then-director of the Mossad, Zvi Zamir, who had been sent to Germany to track the attempts to rescue the athletes, asked his German counterpart what the German authorities intended to do with the terrorists who remained alive, since the Palestinians could hijack a Lufthansa plane and force the Germans to free them. The head of Germany's spy agency said he couldn't guarantee that scenario wouldn't occur.

During the attack on the Olympic village, Brandt publicly criticized Arab nations, but his foreign minister, Walter Schell, rushed to clarify that the attack was "one instance" of terrorism for which the "governments of certain countries were not responsible."

The day after the murder of the Israeli athletes, Germany's ambassador to Egypt, Hans-Georg Stelzer, send a long letter to his superiors in which he recommended that Germany refrain from any harsh criticism of Arab countries, because they had no influence on acts of terrorism.

In a later message, Stelzer even asked that Germany show understanding of the terrorists: "Even if we must condemn the actions of the Munich terrorists, the Arab position must be understood … they see idealistic young people who were acting out of desperation at the crisis situation in their homeland."

Leemhuis cites the "coldness and lack of empathy" with which the German authorities responded to the Munich Olympics massacre.

"They said, 'Life goes on,' without any feeling for the significance of the attack and its historical importance to the Israelis. The documents don't show an ounce of any horror, or that any of the functionaries in the Foreign Ministry opposed the official approach and wanted to demand that the Palestinians be held responsible," he says.

"They [the Foreign Ministry] knew that Black September was part of the PLO, and that in contrast to Yasser Arafat's lies, the organization did not operate on its own. But none of that made any of the German diplomats pull away; it made them want to talk with the PLO, thinking that by doing so they could prevent terrorist attacks in Germany. That idea has guided all of [Germany's] contact with the PLO," Leemhuis observes. 

 Leemhuis discovered a document from October 1972, issued less than a month after the massacre, which clearly shows that the German Foreign Ministry knew about Black September's ties to Fatah and that the new terrorist organization was designed to provide camouflage that would allow Fatah to avoid responsibility for terrorist acts committed by its members.

"The Fatah leadership wants to avoid any harm to the esteem in which it is held, to its good name, and to its stature," the document reads.

The interior minister of Germany at the time, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, outlawed activity by Palestinian student activists and deported hundreds of illegal Arab residents, as well as ordering strict border checks for Arab citizens entering West Germany. But the Foreign Ministry opposed these steps and they were eventually canceled.

According to Leemhuis, "The Foreign Ministry wasn't worried about relations with Israel at all, just with the Arab image in West German media. There was no sense of guilt about the negligent developments that led to the deaths of nine athletes in the failed rescue attempt [two others were killed in the Olympic village itself]. The prevailing belief was that Germany had done everything correctly, no mistakes. Even Israel's response was relatively placating. Golda Meir was very careful in her criticism," he notes. (Meir was very close to Brandt and did not want to endanger his chances of re-election in November of that year).

It took little time for Zamir's prediction to be fulfilled. On Oct. 29, 1972, Palestinian terrorists indeed hijacked a Lufthansa flight that was en route to Frankfurt from Damascus, with planned stops in Beirut, Ankara, and Munich. The hijackers demanded that the three terrorists arrested after the murder of the Israeli athletes be freed. The West German government agreed that same day, and the three were flown to Libya. The terrorists let the hostages go.

Even today, some claim that the hijacking had been coordinated between the PLO and the German government as a way of allowing the Germans to avoid trying the terrorists in court. Leemhuis has found no confirmation of that theory, but says that in 2009, one of Brandt's close advisors told a German paper that he saw the idea as "legitimate."

The day the terrorists were released,   the director of the Middle East Desk in the German Foreign Ministry sent a telegram to the Israeli government which read, "In regard to the accusations that our government has given in to the Palestinian guerrilla fighters and is thereby encouraging more actions of this type, it should be said that the federal government cannot make a decision that would put the lives of the passengers and crew of the hijacked plane in danger."

The telegram ended with the observation: "These are the results of a conflict, and both sides have a responsibility to reach a solution."

Israel was outraged that the terrorists had been freed. Eban summoned the German ambassador to Israel for a rebuke, telling him that Germany had handed the terrorists a "great victory."

As this was unfolding, the Israeli ambassador to Germany, Elyashiv Ben-Horin, was summoned to a meeting with the German foreign minister, who told him that West Germany's policy on the war against terrorism had not changed, but that the government had no choice other than to release the terrorists.

Germany's capitulation paved the way for formal relations between West Germany and the PLO, which demanded a mission in the West German capital, to be housed in the offices of the Arab League.

The Palestinians also asked the Germans to help fund the PLO.  A telegram sent on Feb. 28, 1973 by Helmut Radius, head of the Middle East Department in the German Foreign Ministry, ordered the transfer of 50,000 marks to support the Wafa news agency, which disseminated Palestinian propaganda. Radius also issued instructions that the purpose of the funds be hidden to avoid diplomatic complications, although there is no confirmation that the money was actually transferred.

None of the German diplomatic correspondence made any mention of the Holocaust. According to Leemhuis, "historical responsibility did play any role in the German Foreign Ministry's position toward Israel. After the compensation agreement of 1952, the German diplomats said, 'That's it, the matter of the Holocaust is closed. We paid, and from this moment on, history will not play any part.'"

Leemhuis also points out anti-Semitic accusations made at the time that Israelis and Jews wanted to profit from the Holocaust, after Israeli diplomats made repeated references to Germany's history with the Jews.

"It shows the coldness that characterized German foreign policy, as well as the ignorance about the suffering of the survivors and about historical responsibility. It's chilling to see how soon after the Holocaust the German diplomats moved on, while stressing the historic trauma that the establishment of the state of Israel caused to the Arabs. In other words, history played a role as it met their needs," he says.

When Israel Hayom asks Leemhuis whether the fact that many West German diplomats lived Nazi Germany influenced this approach, he says that while he has not looked into the personal background of the diplomats, "when you read their anti-Semitic comments, it's obvious that the influence of the Nazi period played a role."

"The open anti-Semitism in the documents surprised me. The functionaries felt they could write these things, knowing that it wouldn't bother anyone. And who knows what they said about Jews and Israel in conversation … I was amazed that there was no objection to these positions. The Six-Day War, the attacks in Munich, the Yom Kippur War … none of these changed their thinking," he says.

A new report into online extremism has warned that thousands of pieces of violent antisemitic material are being disseminated on social media.
The Community Security Trust (CST) sounded the alarm on reams of “easily accessible, extreme and violent” videos, memes and posts it said were discovered across at least four social media platforms.
The Jewish charity detailed its findings in its latest report entitled Hate Fuel: the hidden online world fuelling far right terror, which it said was shared with police, government and counter-extremism officials.

The document, seen by Jewish News, was not made public due to the extreme nature of the material it contains.
Social media posts found by the Jewish charity included material blaming the Hungarian-American philanthropist George Soros and the wider Jewish community for recent anti-racism protests around the world.
The CST said it produced the report amid concerns over the “quantity and spread” of the material, which it warned poses an urgent threat to Jewish communities.

British Jews are being asked to join an online commemoration service to fallen Jewish servicemen and women next week in place of the usual in-person service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

The Jewish Military Association (AJEX) will hold a virtual service on Sunday 28 June at 11am during National Armed Forces week, with a variety of online interviews and events in the days leading up to the ceremony.

This year is filled with notable anniversaries, including the 75th anniversary of VE day and VJ Day and the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, but the pandemic had meant that face-to-face events are impossible.

AJEX said it was “even more determined than ever” to gather together online from home to reflect on the contribution of those who served, as it launched its series interviewing both veterans and serving personnel from Sunday 21 June.

AJEX Patron Sir Malcolm Rifkind, a former defense secretary, praised the organisation for its work, saying: “The needs of the many veterans change over the years but the tireless work that AJEX delivers continues to assist them.”

 Rifkind will speak at the ceremony, together with Army Chaplain Rabbi Reuben Livingstone, AJEX chair Mike Bluestone, Board of Deputies’ president Marie Van der Zyl, as well as young students.

“When we heard the National Memorial Arboretum was closed, we knew we had to create a different kind of event,” said Bluestone. “We look forward to seeing the community coming together for this memorial week which is so vital to help us honour those who have fought for our freedom.”

The issues today among the young African American population is not systemic racism. This is what so many networks will speak about. But as Roman J. Israel explains, “They are not locking up the 7 year olds.” So, why is this the case? It is because of the breakdown of the family unit in the United States. Is this due to a breakdown of family values in the United States in general? Perhaps. In many big cities today, there are astoundingly high numbers of broken families. This is not due to systemic racism, but due to systemic family breakdown. It is not merely an issue among black people. It is an issue that crosses all races and colors.

The next time that someone says that the United States is a racist country, remember the following facts: The northern states in the United States fought against the Confederacy in order to remove slavery from the United States. This was led by a white president. The United States voted into law the Civil Rights Law in order to change the norms of disrespect and discrimination against black people. This was done by a majority of white voters in Congress and the Senate. Oh and yes, it was enforced by a majority of white men in the police departments across the United States. This had ramifications that brought up the norms of respect and openness to the entire world for black people.

And one more thing, Barack Obama was elected President of the United States – twice. When the African American population deals with their core issues that start in the home, then there won’t be any need for policemen and policewomen – many of whom are African American – to make sure that neighborhoods are not burned down and looted.

Policemen give up their time, their energy, and sometimes their lives. They devote themselves to helping and protecting others. Have some of them made mistakes? Of course. Should some of them never have joined the police force to begin with? Definitely. But does that mean all policemen and women throughout America are bad people? If you think that, it is absolutely absurd. It dishonors those men and women who have dedicated their lives to others. The numbers and statistics do not show that policemen are bad or racist. Taking one horrific incident and blowing it out of proportion is wrong.

A Palestinian “expert” appeared on official PA television, repeating a libelous claim that has become the battle-cry of terrorists. The “expert” managed to fit several other false claims into his few minutes in the spotlight including misidentifying the Muslim building that stands on top of Solomon’s Temple.

Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), a media watchdog that focuses on Palestinian anti-Israel propaganda, reported on the Arabic language program that was broadcast last month on the official Palestinian television network. The program was an interview featuring Expert on international law Dr. Ibrahim Al-Rabi, who was described as an “expert on international law.”

Official PA TV reporter: “There is construction work taking place under the Al-Aqsa Mosque to build the alleged Temple of Solomon…”

Expert on international law Dr. Ibrahim Al-Rabi: “Regarding this [Western] wall that the Jews claim is the remains of the Temple of Solomon – it must be understood that UNESCO has said that this wall has no connection to Jews, but is rather an Islamic heritage. In other words, it is subject to Palestinian rule and the Jews have no right to it.”

Unfortunately, Dr. Al-Rabi’s claim concerning the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is accurate. UNESCO has indeed passed several resolutions claiming that there is no connection, historical or religious, between the Jewish people and their holiest site. 

Dr. Al-Rabi’s claim is, however, erroneous regarding a few points. The claim that the Temple Mount has any significance to Islam is inaccurate and deeply insulting to some branches of Islam. Jerusalem only took on any significance in Islam in the late 8th century when the Bedouin Muslims prevented the Damascus Muslims from making Haj (pilgrimage) to Mecca. As an alternative destination for Haj, the Damascus Muslims decided on Jerusalem, adding a Hadith (oral commentary) shifting the scene of Muhammad’s Night Journey to Jerusalem in order to justify their decision.

The source of the Muslim holiday of “Isra” (journey) and “Mi’raj” (ascension, literally ‘ladder’) and the entire Muslim claim to Jerusalem as a holy site is based on a story in the Quran. According to the Quran, Muhammad traveled from Saudi Arabia to “Al-Aqsa” (the far mosque).  From there, he ascended to Heaven, returning to Earth the next day. 
Dr. Al-Rabi is also mistaken about the Muslim structures on the Temple Mount. Al-Aqsa is the silver domed mosque on the southern end of the Temple Mount compound. The site of Solomon’s Temple is now covered by a shrine (not a mosque) with a gold dome, called Qubbat al-Sakhrah by the Arabs.

PMW described this claim of Israeli construction under the Temple Mount as “one of the most lethal recurring Palestinian Authority libels.”

The black hand strikes again. It is no surprise that Urooj Rahman would be involved with Soros-funded leftist groups supporting the “Palestinian” jihad. The left and the global jihad are united in their hatred of the United States and Israel, and their determination to bring both down.

One of the two lawyers accused of trying to torch an NYPD cruiser during protests that engulfed Brooklyn over the weekend spent a summer in the West Bank as a fellow and intern with radical Palestinian activist organizations.

Two attorneys, Colinford Mattis, 32, and Urooj Rahman, 31, reportedly were caught attempting to distribute homemade molotov cocktail devices to protesters who were clashing with police near the 88th Precinct in Fort [sic].

“Rahman attempted to distribute Molotov cocktails to the witness and others so that those individuals could likewise use the incendiary devices in furtherance of more destruction and violence,” a witness was quoted as saying to authorities in a detention memo from federal prosecutors for the Eastern District of New York.

Rahman was captured in a photo obtained by the New York Daily News wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh on her face and holding a makeshift Molotov cocktail. The keffiyeh, a chequered black and white scarf, has become a symbol of Palestinian nationalism.

Rahman is a graduate from Fordham University law school. In 2014, she did a summer fellowship internship program at the Israel based Mada Al-Carmel’s Arab Center for Applied Social Research in a partnership program with Palestine Works.

The Mada Al-Carmel center is heavily financed by George Soros through his Open Society Foundations.

NGO Monitor lists some of the radical organization’s political advocacy. The center co-authored the “Haifa Declaration” which calls for a “change in the definition of the State of Israel from a Jewish state” and accuses Israel of “exploiting” the Holocaust “at the expense of the Palestinian people.”

The September 2011 edition of Mada al Carmel’s journal Jadal focused on “Boycotting Israel: Between Theory and Practice.”

As part of her Soros-backed fellowship at the Mada Al-Carmel center, Rahman spent a week with the radical Palestine Work organization.

“Each day includes presentations and workshops led by attorneys and human rights advocates, as well as field visits to human rights flashpoints, such as East Jerusalem, Hebron, the Jordan Valley,” the site states.

Rahman wrote an article for Fordham’s human rights newsletter upon her return to the U.S., describing attending a flashpoint anti-Israel protest against Israeli troops.

The article, titled, “Witnessing occupation, apartheid and resistance in Palestine/Israel” may be instructive in understanding her mindset and alleged criminal actions over the weekend.

She wrote (emphasis added):

I witnessed this oppression quite vividly on my initial visit to the West Bank. I was greeted by heavily armed Israel Defense Force soldiers (aka the Israeli Occupational Force) ushering people through Qalandia Checkpoint, one of the main points of entry into Ramallah in the West Bank from Jerusalem and a potent symbol of Israeli occupation. While taking part in one of the largest protests in the West Bank since the second intifadah this past July, I saw how peaceful protests at Qalandia (and other places) can turn into violent clashes when IDF soldiers provoke violence using tear gas, stun grenades, rubber-coated steel bullets and, often, live ammunition at civilians exercising their free speech. Over 40,000 strong, this protest was composed of youth, families, women, men, children and grandparents, all of whom marched together from the center of Ramallah to Qalandia checkpoint on the road to Jerusalem. What started out as a peaceful demonstration of resistance to the occupation and in solidarity with fellow Palestinians in Gaza—who were at this time facing aerial bombardment while under an occupational blockade with nowhere to escape—turned into an all-out clash. Young Palestinians were forced to resort to throwing rocks, their only form of self-defense, as IDF soldiers fired tear gas and skin-penetrating bullets into a peaceful crowd.”

Rahman expressed similar sentiments about the U.S. In a 2015 article for the same newsletter, she claims “militarized over-policing goes hand-in-hand with the gentrification of neighborhoods in New York City and throughout the country.” Rahman argues that “the process of gentrification runs its course with the help of institutionalized racism,” aided by police targeting of black and brown communities to pave the way for proponents of gentrification….

Christian Leader Broadcasts Truth
Maybe many Christians already knew what Pastor Hagee said, but it is obvious that many did not. Otherwise, a Christian leader like him would not have made a video broadcasting such a message to his Christian followers.

The problem is that even people who say they believe in the Bible and G-d choose to deny the truth about Israel. They brush over what G-d says and what He wants regarding the Jewish people. And Pastor Hagee wants those people to know that you cannot deny the Bible and G-d like that. It is anti-Christian!

Winston Churchill said, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened” (Forbes).

Lack of Information?
It seems impossible that in today’s world where information is so readily available that people have never come across the truth about Israel. It seems impossible that they have never heard what the Bible says or that they have never seen it with their own eyes.

It’s true – maybe the lies are more blaring. Maybe you have to open your heart and your ears to the truth. Maybe you need to seek guidance from a religious leader. But it is most definitely available. So, Pastor Hagee is telling you: G-d owns Israel. G-d gave Israel to the Jewish people. Look to the Bible for guidance and truth. The Bible will not mislead you.

Knowing the Truth and Sharing it
It is one thing to know the truth internally. It is another thing to share it. And especially if you are a person who has the ability to influence many others, it is even more important to share the truth publicly. You never know whose mind you can change and who you can convince to finally see the truth.

Many of the Arab countries believe that no good has come from having a Jewish state. This is untrue, there have been many good things that have come from Israel. There are many countries that see Israel as the cause of all the problems in the Middle East.


Although Israel has enemies, it also has many friends. Israel sends aid to countries and helps when countries are in need. There are many good things in the world thanks to Israel. So think hard before you call Israel your enemy.

IDF Elite
There are many IDF Elite units, many that regular citizens don’t even know about. These soldiers have been chosen to perform special tasks. Additionally, they work tirelessly to protect the citizens and defend the country of Israel.

Furthermore, no one said being a soldier would be an easy task and for these soldiers, it is most definitely not. After such intense training, these soldiers become like brothers to one another. They’ve gone through an experience that not many other people have. They have a deep love and a strong connection to the land of Israel. Seeing these soldiers train so hard I would not want to be on the wrong side of Israel. They have one of the greatest armies.


Finally, these young men and women spend days away from their families and loved ones. We can not thank them enough for the work that they do.

Wow.

It looks like this is really going to happen, and Israeli settlers in the areas that are going to be annexed will greatly celebrate once it happens.

But at the same time we will see a massive outpouring of fury from the Palestinians and their allies.

In the south, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are not strong enough to invade Israel, but they will almost certainly start firing rockets toward Israel in retaliation.

In the north, Hezbollah has more than 150,000 missiles aimed at Israeli cities right now, and Hezbollah was on the brink of a new war with Israel even before talk of annexation became public.

In the West Bank, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has already voided all previous agreements with the United States and Israel because of this pending annexation, and he is warning that there will be grave consequences if it actually happens.

Needless to say, most of Israel’s Arab neighbors are vehemently opposed to any annexation as well, and Jordan’s King Abdullah has even warned of “a massive conflict” if Israel does not back down…

More than two weeks after Jordan’s King Abdullah issued what can only be described as the sternest warning to Israel if it goes ahead with its annexation plans, Jordanians and Israelis are still wondering how Amman will react if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does go ahead with his intention to annex parts of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley as early as July.

In his May 15 interview with German magazine Der Spiegel, the king warned of “a massive conflict” between Jordan and Israel “if Israel really annexed the West Bank in July.”

For such a long time the Middle East has seemingly been on the brink of war, and this could potentially be the trigger that finally pushes everyone over the edge.

Of course Netanyahu would never be pushing for annexation unless the Trump administration was willing to support it.

And it turns out that the Trump administration has made it abundantly clear that support for annexation will only be given if Netanyahu is prepared to fully accept Trump’s plan to permanently divide the land of Israel…

According to the Trump plan itself and senior U.S. officials, including Pompeo, Israeli annexation is dependent on acceptance of the entire plan, especially its agreement to conduct direct negotiations with the Palestinians for at least four years. During this period, Israel is asked to freeze all construction and demolitions in the territory earmarked for the Palestinian state, as well as possibly in other areas. The plan also includes the establishment of a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem neighborhoods and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

That certainly puts a different spin on things, doesn’t it?

As I have discussed previously, Trump’s plan would double the amount of territory currently under Palestinian control and would permanently divide the city of Jerusalem.

At this moment in history, the little nation of Israel has once again taken center stage, and what happens next is going to have staggering implications for all of us.

If a major war erupts in the Middle East and Donald Trump is still the president of the United States, it is quite likely that the U.S. would side with Israel in such a war.

But if Joe Biden wins in November, that would probably not be the case once he is in the White House.

In any event, it appears that war is coming.  Benjamin Netanyahu is a man of his word, and I believe that he is quite serious about beginning the annexation process on July 1st.
 
And there is no way in the world that the Palestinians and their allies will allow annexation to go unchallenged.

It does not look like either side is going to back down, and so that means that we are on a course toward military conflict.

And once war starts, it may not be so easy to stop.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is warning Israel of the consequences of annexing territories in Judea and Samaria, emphasizing that Turkey will not permit “Palestinian land” to be granted to anyone.

In a video message to Muslims in the US on the occasion of the holiday of Eid Al-Fitr, Erdogan said Turkey is monitoring Israel's plan to annex land while ignoring Palestinian sovereignty and international law.

Erdogan also said that in the eyes of Turkey, the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is a red line for Muslims worldwide.

According to a report by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and State, Turkey has been increasing its presence in eastern Jerusalem, as can be seen from the appearance of the Turkish flags flying there. Its influence can also be seen in restaurants and local clothing stores.

The report also notes that Turkish support for Hamas in Gaza also explains the emergence of Turkish flags among Palestinian Arab protesters on the Gaza border, and that Turkey uses the guise of Muslim "tourism" to gain a foothold on the Temple Mount and other holy sites, possibly with the goal of taking over them.

The coalition agreement between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz, which stipulates that the government can apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria this coming July, has caused an uproar in the Arab world.

The plan has been condemned by the Palestinian Authority, which says that an application of sovereignty by Israel would be “illegal”.

The PA has received the backing of the Arab League, which said several weeks ago that an Israeli proposal to apply sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria constituted a "new war crime" against the Palestinian Arabs.


Saudi Arabia last week denounced Israel’s plans to apply sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria, saying it “denounces any unilateral actions, and any violations of internationally- sanctioned resolutions or any measures that might undermine the chances of resuming the peace process to achieve security and stability in the region.”

Jordan has threatened to review its relationship with Israel if the Jewish state goes ahead with plans to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
