The FBI reportedly is secretly targeting supporters of former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election, according to a new report.

During a three-month investigation, Newsweek spoke to more than a dozen current or former government officials specializing in terrorism. The experts revealed that the FBI is covertly monitoring MAGA Republicans because the domestic intelligence agency suspects that Trump supporters are the greatest threat of violence – possibly even capable of starting a civil war.

The in-depth probe reportedly found that the FBI clandestinely created a new category of violent domestic extremists that it intends to target: Make America Great Again followers.


In October 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation created a new subcategory of domestic terrorists labeled AGAAVE – which stands for anti-government, anti-authority violent extremism. The new subcategory is a threat group that is not anarchists, a militia, or sovereign citizen groups.

The new classification is officially defined as "domestic violent extremists who cite anti-government or anti-authority motivations for violence or criminal activity not otherwise defined, such as individuals motivated by a desire to commit violence against those with a real or perceived association with a specific political party or faction of a specific political party."

The outlet reported, "Government insiders acknowledged to Newsweek that although they are not named specifically, the AGAAVE-Other title applies to political violence associated with Trump supporters."


"It was a subtle change, little noticed, but a gigantic departure for the Bureau," according to Newsweek. "Trump and his army of supporters were acknowledged as a distinct category of domestic violent extremists, even as the FBI was saying publicly that political views were never part of its criteria to investigate or prevent domestic terrorism. Where the FBI sees threats is also plain from the way it categorizes them — a system which on the surface is designed to appear nonpartisan. This shifted subtly days after the events of January 6 when it comes to what the Bureau calls AGAAVE."

The FBI said in a statement to Newsweek: "The threat posed by domestic violent extremists is persistent, evolving, and deadly. The FBI's goal is to detect and stop terrorist attacks, and our focus is on potential criminal violations, violence, and threats of violence. Anti-government or anti-authority violent extremism is one category of domestic terrorism, as well as one of the FBI's top threat priorities. We are committed to protecting the safety and constitutional rights of all Americans and will never open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity, including a person's political beliefs or affiliations."

An anonymous senior intelligence official told Newsweek, "We've crossed the Rubicon. Trump's army constitutes the greatest threat of violence domestically ... politically ... that's the reality and the problem set. That's what the FBI, as a law enforcement agency, has to deal with. But whether Trump and his supporters are a threat to national security, to the country, whether they represent a threat of civil war? That's a trickier question. And that's for the country to deal with, not the FBI."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security issued a report to Congress that warned:

The IC assesses that domestic violent extremists (DVEs) who are motivated by a range of ideologies and galvanized by recent political and societal events in the United States pose an elevated threat to the Homeland in 2021. Enduring DVE motivations pertaining to biases against minority populations and perceived government overreach will almost certainly continue to drive DVE radicalization and mobilization to violence. Newer sociopolitical developments -­ such as narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories promoting violence will almost certainly spur some DVEs to try to engage in violence this year.
Newsweek noted that by the FBI zeroing in on Trump supporters, the federal agency "runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter."

Sen. Gary Peters – a Democrat representing Michigan who is chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee – claimed that the FBI isn't doing enough to fight the "full scope of white supremacist terrorist attacks."

President Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed that the MAGA movement is a threat to the country.

In May 2022, Biden said of Trump supporters, "Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history, in recent American history."

In August 2022, Biden said the MAGA philosophy is "like semi-fascism."

In September 2022, Biden said, "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic."

A senior intelligence official who works at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence explained that "Biden's rhetoric on domestic terrorism could goad his opponents into taking more extreme action — particularly those who have lost their faith in elections or believe the system is rigged against them."

"So we have the president increasing his own inflammatory rhetoric, which leads Donald Trump and the Republicans to do the same, which influences the news media, which influences the rhetoric," the official said. "The FBI? It's just in the middle of this mess, probably heading for trouble but mostly left out on a limb by the anger and indifference of the American public."

A female math teacher from Wisconsin Hills Middle School apparently gave the Nazi salute to her class, and then she went on to tell the students to respond with either "Heil Hitler" or "Heil [teacher's surname]."


After the incident gained traction online, the school decided to send a letter to all families following the incident. The letter that was sent home to all parents was similar to a message that was sent specifically to students and families impacted by the event earlier in the week, according to Fox News.


Fox News Digital apparently received a letter written by Principal Matt Schroede, which was sent to all families of the middle school on Friday. The letter acknowledged that the incident had occurred, and that an investigation was underway.

"Regrettably, one of our teachers made an antisemitic gesture and remark during class that is highly offensive to both Jewish and non-Jewish individuals, something we would not tolerate from any student or staff member at Wisconsin Hills," the letter said.


"Following a complete investigation, it was our determination that the teacher did not intend to cause harm, yet it was a clear violation of our staff professional responsibilities."

The letter went on to say that over the course of the week, "disciplinary action and corrective measures" were put in place, "including antisemitism education," per the report.

"To be clear, the behavior described above is not condoned nor does it represent the attitudes, beliefs, or behaviors of our staff members," the letter said. "As we do with our students, we will hold our staff to the highest standard of professionalism and respond quickly when that standard is not met."

However, an anonymous parent of Elmbrook schools is not convinced that this is an isolated event, noting that this was allegedly "part of a pattern of inappropriate behavior in staff at Elmbrook in the last few years."

The parent reportedly cited a sex survey provided to students, an inappropriate link in an email signature, and explicit books brought into the school that did not adhere to policy guidelines.

A California sheriff's deputy was charged with two felonies on Monday after it was discovered that he was reportedly carrying more than 100 pounds of fentanyl in his vehicle. Prosecutors allege that the deputy may have ties to a Mexican drug cartel.

A Kentucky pastor who’s been preaching for decades offered a simple but powerful blueprint for sharing the Gospel — and a reminder every Christian should heed.
In a world where it’s easy to overthink evangelism and spreading the faith, Bobby Eaton told Kentucky Today his secret to spreading the faith and growing his church is totally centered on the Lord.

“It’s all God,” he said of his evangelistic efforts.

The 77-year-old hasn’t always been a preacher.

“I was a butcher who ran a meat market for 31 years,” Eaton said.

But he eventually realized God had big plans to use him to spread the Gospel.

Eaton, pastor of Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky, described what unfolded 20 years ago when he was asked to fill in for the then-pastor, who was suffering from cancer.

The tiny church had just 20 people in its services, which left Eaton stunned. Based on nearby homes, he expected far more people to be in the pews, Kentucky Today reported.

“I told my wife, ‘That church should be running 150,'” he said. “I took Poplar Grove as a bivocational pastor, and the Lord started blessing. We hit all those neighborhoods. We’ve just kept growing and growing, even though there aren’t many kids in those subdivisions.”

That growth continued and, two decades later, the church now has about 300 people in each service. Membership and church activity have grown under Eaton’s leadership.

Still, he takes no credit, repeatedly telling the outlet it was all God.

As for Eaton’s general ministry skills, he took some classes to hone his craft in evangelism but said he typically keeps the message simple, often using the “Romans Road” tool to share the Christian faith — a simple reiteration of Paul sharing the Gospel in the book of Romans.

And that simple approach to sharing the truth has made a big impact. According to Kentucky Today, in addition to Eaton growing his current church, he also led around 300 people to the Lord during his 13 years on staff at Central Baptist and Immanuel Baptist and while working as a chaplain at Baptist Health.

It’s interesting to see pastors keeping things simple and seeing God work. Eaton is hardly alone in his approach, with other pastors and revivalists sharing similar tactics and stories — journeys that should inspire all Christians to realize the Gospel is enough to change hearts and minds.

As CBN Digital previously reported, North Carolina preacher Ralph Sproles, who has spent nearly seven decades sharing the Gospel, revealed last month the simple secret he believes is crucial to any preacher’s success.

“Just love your people,” Sproles told WGHP-TV. “If you don’t love people, you’re not going to be effective in the ministry.”

Sproles, who is in his late 80s and still preaching at revivals and delivering occasional sermons, said this essential lesson is one every pastor must heed. Showing love for a congregation — and for people more generally — is at the very heart of any successful ministry, he said.

“I’m a hugging preacher,” he added. “I hug people.”

Sproles also spoke about the importance of intentionally vocalizing his care and feelings for others, noting doing so is an expression of true faith and devotion.

“I tell people I love them,” he said. “When I see them at church, I say, ‘I want you to know I love you,’ because they don’t hear enough of that. That’s what the Christian life is about.”

The White House made clear in the official transcript of the octogenarian's remarks that contrary to Biden's announcement of a $40 billion investment, the actual sum will be $40 million.

According to the White House's fact sheet, what Biden meant to announce were "plans to expand the U.S. Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative, working with Congress, to provide more than $28 million, and to request from Congress an additional $12 million, to support secure, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure in the Pacific Islands."

This error has prompted Reuters and other outlets to issue corrections.

Acronyms may be the least of the president's concern.

Axios reported that Biden and his campaign are working hard on a "critical project for his re-election bid: Make sure he doesn't trip."

Biden, who indicated last October that he "could drop dead tomorrow," has reportedly been working with a physical therapist to improve his balance and has been wearing tennis shoes more often to avoid taking another header.

Democrats, including a handful inside the administration, regard a Biden face-plant in the weeks before the November 2024 election as a nightmare scenario.

With a supermajority of likely voters and two-thirds of Democrats already certain that Biden is too old to seek a second term, his campaign is desperate to avoid a repeat of his June 2023 fall at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado; his February 2023 fall when climbing up the stairs to Air Force One while leaving Poland; his near-fall in May 2023 while descending stairs in Japan; his June 2022 stumble when attempting to mount stairs ahead of his interview with corporate script-reader Jimmy Kimmel; his March 2021 fall when scaling the unimpeded stairs to Air Force One; and other such incidents.

White House spokesman Andrew Base characterized Axios' report as fitting "an unfortunate pattern of media attempting to sensationalize something that has long been public, rather than covering the president's very real achievements for hardworking Americans."

The president's handlers have to worry about more than Biden's verticality.

The New York Post noted that recent gaffes have proved to be embarrassing both at home and abroad.

For instance, while at the United Nations last week, Biden appeared confused, stumbled into a Brazilian flag, then appeared to unwittingly snub Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by forgoing a handshake.

TheBlaze previously reported that the 80-year-old president has also raised concerns after exhibiting signs of dementia — mistaking his sister for his wife; repeatedly confusing the names of disparate nations; and and relying upon cue cards for instructions on how to execute basic functions.

Disney might be running out of ideas for movies, but that doesn’t mean the company won’t keep making them.

One of its latest films is an upcoming live-action remake of “Snow White,” which is pretty plainly another disaster in the making.

The remake will star Rachel Zegler as Snow White. She has stressed that the cartoon is completely unacceptable by today’s standards and her version will correct the original’s “issues.”


“It’s extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for,” Zegler told cameras in a recent interview about the upcoming film.

Lauren Chen is fairly certain that with an attitude like that, this movie is going to be a “huge box office flop.”

Not only is her attitude surrounding the original poor, but Chen notes that Zegler playing Snow White is “essentially brownwashing a traditionally European character who is basically known for having fair skin.”

In addition, the beloved Seven Dwarves were written out of the script, “because apparently it’s considered politically incorrect to give little people acting jobs,” Chen adds.

While promoting her new film on the red carpet, Zegler also told reporters that the original story featured a man who “literally stalks” Snow White, so they “didn’t do that this time.”

While there is no “stalker” in the film, there is a man who plays her love interest. However, according to the actress, it’s still not a love story.

“I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s actually going to be, but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful,” Zegler said.

Basically, the film won’t resemble the original at all.

“Even if you are a huge Snow White fan out there and you’re willing to overlook all of these other things, you’re still probably not going to like this movie because they are essentially stripping it of anything that would have made it quintessentially Snow White,” Chen comments.

In 1942, when he was 25, Byrd formed a new Klan chapter in Sophia, West Virginia, and in 1944 Byrd wrote to segregationist Senator Theodore Bilbo, a Mississippi Democrat: “I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.” Byrd claimed he left the Klan, but racism never left Byrd.

In 1967, Byrd voted against the confirmation of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1991, when embattled Bush nominee Clarence Thomas pushed back against the “high-tech lynching of uppity blacks,” Byrd dismissed it as a “diversionary tactic.” Then-Senator Joe Biden joined the former Ku Kluxer in voting against Thomas. Nearly 20 years later, Biden was still looking up to the man who, in his view, not only elevated the Senate but embodied it.

“Robert C. Byrd was a parliamentary library, a keeper of the institution of the Senate, and he was the institution itself,” Biden said. “For a lot of us, he was a friend, and he was a mentor and he was a guide” — though within limits. As Biden explained, when he ran for president in 1988, Byrd told him, “I don’t want any senators running for president because you never come back and vote when I need you.”

As Biden said, “So I made a promise that no matter where I was, if he called me and said he needed my vote, I’d drop whatever I was doing and I’d come. And I kept the commitment.” The former Ku Kluxer’s wish was Joe Biden’s command, and the Delaware Democrat also had a soft spot for segregationists.

Biden praised Sen. John Stennis, known for long-standing resistance to civil rights, and worked with Sen. Jim Eastland against busing. Attorney Abbe Lowell argued the "financial impact on government resources and the logistical burden" of Biden traveling from California to Delaware means he should be allowed to enter his "not guilty" plea remotely. Lowell called the demand a "common-sense request" and said that opposition to it is "puzzling."

But prosecutors sharply disagreed.

In a response filed on Wednesday, prosecutors argued that "if 'convenience' was a legitimate basis to warrant virtual proceedings, every defendant would ask for them in every case."

"An in-person hearing is important to promote the public’s confidence that the defendant is being treated consistently with other defendants in this District and in other Districts," prosecutors said. "Given the serious felony gun charges at issue in this case, this Court should have an opportunity to assess the defendant in a live setting when discharging its obligations ... and considering recommendations for conditions of release."

What did Judge Burke rule?
Burke denied Biden's request.

The judge said he understands why Biden wants to appear by video but said upholding the integrity of the court is more important.


"Although initial appearances in criminal matters are often short in duration, our Court has always considered them to be important," Burke explained. "In part, that is because the hearing is one of the few occasions in a criminal case when a defendant physically appears in our Court, before a judge — in a setting that helps to emphasize the 'integrity and solemnity of a federal criminal proceeding[.]'"

In fact, Burke said he cannot remember another instance — aside from during the COVID-19 pandemic — when a defendant was allowed to skip his initial court appearance.

"That has been the case as to defendants of all types, regardless of their location or personal circumstance!" Burke said.

"In the end, the Court agrees with both Defendant and the Government that Defendant should not receive special treatment in this matter — absent some unusual circumstance, he should be treated just as would any other defendant in our Court," the judge explained. "Any other defendant would be required to attend his or her initial appearance in person. So too here."

Biden is due in court for his initial appearance and arraignment on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was promptly fact-checked on Tuesday after spewing a "complete falsehood" about greenhouse gas emissions.

At a House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources hearing on the Biden administration's "mismanagement of the federal onshore oil and gas program," Ocasio-Cortez claimed that nearly one-quarter of U.S. "carbon pollution" comes from oil and gas drilling on federal lands.

"As it stands, nearly a quarter of the United States' current carbon pollution comes from fossil fuel production on federal lands and waters," she claimed.


But according to Kathleen Sgamma, president of the Western Energy Alliance, the New York Democrat is wrong.

Not only did Sgamma open her testimony by calling out Ocasio-Cortez for her "complete falsehood," but with data in hand, Sgamma corrected the record.

"I just want to start off by correcting something the ranking member said in her opening statement. She claimed that oil and gas production on federal lands is responsible for about a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions," Sgamma said.

"That's based on a misreading of a USGS study of greenhouse gas emissions," she explained. "And if you actually look at the numbers, production on federal lands and waters accounts for 0.6% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions — not 'nearly a quarter.' Even the Interior Department stopped using that number after I simply pointed out the numbers from the USGS report."

Democrats often claim that a sizable chunk of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions come from drilling on federal lands to justify their push to end drilling on federal lands.

But it's simply not true. What is true, according to the USGS report cited at the hearing, is that "emissions from fossil fuels produced on Federal lands represent, on average, 23.7% of national emissions." But that doesn't mean drilling on federal lands is responsible for those emissions.

In fact, as Sgamma explained, the extraction of fossil fuels on federal lands accounts for a minuscule amount — 0.6% — of greenhouse gas emissions.

So where does the difference come from? As the Western Energy Alliance explains, the "vast majority" of emissions related to fossil fuels extracted from federal lands "comes from the end-use combustion of fossil fuels, not from the extraction."

It's the entire life cycle of those fuels, then — from extraction to combustion at their end point — that accounts for anything near what Ocasio-Cortez claimed.

A man from Mount Juliet was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in prison for reportedly extorting and threatening several minors into performing sex acts on camera. In addition to the prison sentence, the man will also have a lifetime of supervised release.
The Department of Justice released a statement on Thursday that said Caleb D. Jordan, 22, met three minors online through a video game platform. He reportedly told the minors — all of whom were between 11 and 14 years of age — that someone was coming to "get them" and threatened to kill or sexually assault their parents if they did not create videos of themselves performing sex acts.
The statement said Jordan told the minors to perform and record specific sex acts and used the children to create nearly 400 sexually explicit videos, some of which depict the victims crying or in visible distress.

The attacker refused to leave, and rushed toward Brian.

Brian kicked him in the chest, sending him backward down the steps to enter the house.

The attacker ran away, and Brian ran to his truck to get his phone and call the police.

Moments later, the attacker returned … holding a metal pipe.

Commentary: Grisham’s anti-gun order would have left my wife and me defenseless
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham last week suspended laws allowing law-abiding citizens to carry firearms, either openly or concealed, in Albuquerque for 30 days. Her reason? A “public health emergency” stemming from a rash of deaths, including that of an 11-year-old boy.

The order is plainly unconstitutional and will not accomplish what the governor claims it will — namely, a reduction in gun violence perpetrated by criminals who don’t abide by concealed-carry rules in the first place

The good news is that the people of New Mexico are not sitting still for the governor’s outrageous, unconstitutional power grab. Even state Attorney General Raúl Torrez, a fellow Democrat, said Tuesday the governor’s order does not “pass constitutional muster” and that he would not defend it in court. A federal judge on Wednesday issued a temporary restraining order blocking the order from being enforced.
But that shouldn’t be the end of the story. Gov. Grisham needs to be held accountable.

Having nearly bled to death from a robber’s gunshot wounds in Albuquerque, New Mexico — saving myself and my wife by returning fire with my own legal handgun — I have a unique perspective on Grisham’s ill-conceived anti-gun decree that deprives law-abiding citizens of their right to self-defense.

Grisham’s order pole-vaults over the fine line between reason and insanity. She has trashed the U.S. Constitution and abandoned the people of New Mexico.
A review of her record confirms the troubling facts: She is a moneyed, politically well-born bureaucrat with no sense of the real world. She showed herself to be untrustworthy, as the House Ethics Committee discovered when she served in Congress. There are more recent reports of campaign finance sleight-of-hand. And during the COVID-19 lockdowns, the Democratic governor flouted her own rules, held in-person meetings, and spent thousands of dollars on booze and luxury goods such as Wagyu beef.

But the worst of it is that she already has failed in her job as governor and chief law enforcement officer of New Mexico by allowing rampant lethal criminality to flourish.

Instead of fixing the problem, she has tried to camouflage her inability to protect her constituents by declaring, in a Hillary Clinton-style “What difference does it make?" moment, that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution is “optional” simply because she says so.

She has chosen to disarm the entire law-abiding population of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County at the precise moment when danger from armed criminals is the greatest.

Whose side is she on exactly?

If I had the chance to meet Gov. Grisham, I would ask if she’s ever faced the muzzle of a pistol in the hand of a drug-crazed criminal.

Well, I have. In Albuquerque, on the night of June 30, 2015, in a hotel room as I emerged from the shower wet, naked, and shivering from the air conditioning.

Has she ever been shot by a criminal threatening her spouse? Well, I have. I was shot three times. Two of those 9mm rounds entered and exited my body, which left me with five bleeding wounds.

Does she have any idea what bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds feels like? Well, I do. And I know what nearly bleeding to death sounds like. I will never forget the sickening sound of my blood splattering on that motel room floor.

It’s safe to say Gov. Grisham doesn’t know about any of that, and as long as she has her taxpayer-funded armed protective detail, she never will.

And I hope she never has to.

Had Grisham’s decree been in force that night in 2015, my pistol — and one carried by my very brave wife, Lynne Russell — would have been locked away, and we would have been forced to defend ourselves with our bare hands, surely with tragic results: our deaths, in two large pools of blood.

Thank God Grisham was not in office then! My wife was able to slip one of the weapons to me, and when the gangbanger opened fire, I returned fire. The bad guy was not expecting a former soldier whose military training from four decades earlier kicked in. The assailant was left with fatal wounds in both lungs, his sternum, and his jaw. The laptop computer he tried to steal and was holding against his gut took three more rounds. That four-second firefight was the end of the road for the criminal.

But for me, it was the beginning of a fight for life, with 10 surgeries and a long recovery. I still have bullet fragments in my leg.

If Grisham faced the same situation, would she rather have a pistol with which to defend herself or go like a sheep to the slaughter?

Depriving people of their rights in the name of “public health” will result in needless tragedy and death. My wife and I know this all too well. If Gov. Grisham had had her way in 2015, I doubt I could have written this.

Hunter Biden indicted on felony gun charges, faces up to 25 years in federal prison

Special counsel David Weiss has secured an indictment against Hunter Biden on three counts of felony gun charges.
Court documents show that a grand jury indicted Biden on two felony charges for allegedly lying on an ATF Form 4473 when he purchased a Colt Cobra revolver in October 2018. That is the same firearm that Hallie Biden, the widow of Hunter's older brother, allegedly discarded in a trash dumpster

The third count alleges that Biden illegally possessed the firearm while being the user of illegal narcotics.
If convicted, Biden faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in federal prison.

Last week, Weiss filed court documents indicating that an indictment was forthcoming. That itself was significant news because less than three months ago, Weiss had announced a sweetheart plea deal for the first son. That deal included a pretrial diversion agreement with Biden for the gun charge. That agreement would have allowed Biden to avoid prosecution if he abided by its stipulations.

But that deal fell apart in late July when a federal judge questioned the constitutionality and unusual nature of the deal, which included a broad immunity agreement.

And what makes the indictment significant is that it encompasses both crimes that Biden allegedly committed.
Initially, Weiss only accused Biden of being the user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 922(g)(3). Now, however, Weiss asserts that Biden not only broke that federal statute but also alleges he broke 18 U.S. Code § 922(a)(6) when he allegedly lied on the ATF form.

Meanwhile, the indictment is likely to set off a new legal battle between Weiss and Biden's attorneys, who claim the diversion agreement remains in effect. Prosecutors, on the other hand, say it never took effect because a U.S. probation officer never signed it.

And the indictment is likely not the last of Biden's legal troubles.

After the plea deal collapsed in July, a federal court agreed to vacate the tax charges that Weiss had filed against Biden as part of the original deal. Weiss told the court he planned to refile criminal charges against Biden in other jurisdictions, likely the venues where the alleged crimes took place: the Central District of California and the District of Columbia.

A court date has not yet been set for Biden. The court has issued a summons.

Abbe Lowell, Biden's attorney, said in a statement the indictment "presents a grave threat to our system of justice."

As expected, prosecutors filed charges today that they deemed were not warranted just six weeks ago following a five-year investigation into this case. The evidence in this matter has not changed in the last six weeks, but the law has and so has MAGA Republicans’ improper and partisan interference in this process. Hunter Biden possessing an unloaded gun for 11 day was not a threat to public safety, but a prosecutor, with all the power imaginable, bending to political pressure presents a grave threat to our system of justice.

We believe these charges are barred by the agreement the prosecutors made with Mr. Biden, the recent rulings by several federal courts that this statute is unconstitutional, and the facts that he did not violate that law, and we plan to demonstrate all of that in court.
Lowell, however, did not present any evidence of "improper and partisan interference."
