It Time For The IDF To Inflict 'Massive Damage' On Hamas?

As of Sunday evening, four Israeli civilians have been killed after terror groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad launched more than 600 rockets and mortars from Gaza into Israel. By doing so, Hamas and Islamic Jihad commit a double war crime by firing at civilians while hiding behind civilians. 
A delegation of U.S. ambassadors currently visiting Israel published a joint statement in which they said, "Enough is enough!" The statement also read, "Can one imagine rockets falling on Washington, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Bern or Lisbon today without an appropriately strong reaction?"
Efraim Inbar, president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security, mirrored their statement, telling JNS, "Enough is enough."
He said that while Israel "may not be able to 'solve' the intractable protracted conflict," it needs to "restore deterrence eroded over time versus Hamas, signaling to all bad guys in the Middle East that we mean business."
Inbar also said that if targeted killings are not "convincing enough, Israel should escalate its response and "even consider conquering parts of or all of Gaza to eliminate significant parts of the Hamas war machine," which he admitted would likely be rebuilt over time anyway.

Despite a ceasefire in the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib both felt compelled to show their support to Hamas and the other Gaza terrorists in their onslaught against Israel.

The United States declared Hamas a foreign terrorist organization in 1997. In 2007, Hamas declared its intention to to destroy America and called on Allah to annihilate every American.

Palestinian terrorists from Hamas and Islamic Jiahd have fired over 700 rockets into Israel in 48 hours, killing four and injuring at least 234, not including the trauma the rocket barrage the has brought upon the Israeli civilian population - including children.

Muslim Children In Philadelphia Sing About Decapitating Jews

On April 22, the Muslim American Society Islamic Center in Philadelphia (MAS Philly) uploaded a video of an "Ummah Day" celebration to its Facebook page in which young children wearing Palestinian scarves sang: "Glorious steeds call us and lead us [to] the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The blood of martyrs protects us. ... Take us, oh ships ... until we reach our shores and crush the treacherous ones. ... Flow, oh rivers of martyrs!"
A young girl read a poem praising martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Palestine, and she asked: "Will [Jerusalem] be a hotbed for cowards?" Another young girl read: "We will defend [Palestine] with our bodies. ... We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. ... We will subject them to eternal torture."
MAS Philly belongs to the Muslim American Society (MAS), which has 42 chapters in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. The MAS website says that its mission is to "move people to strive for God-consciousness, liberty and justice, and to convey Islam with utmost clarity," and that its vision is "a virtuous and just American society."

Dangerous New Censorship Technique - Facebook Introduces Link Banning

In one of the most disturbing moves by Facebook we've ever seen, the platform banned Alex Jones and other controversial U.S. political personalities for violating the social media company's policies on "dangerous individuals and organizations."
Most of the individuals who've been unilaterally wiped off the face of the largest social media space in the world are far right activists like Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer and Paul Joseph Watson. However, in a seeming move to appease those on the right who advocate for equal censorship, Facebook also banned far left Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
While Facebook has previously banned Infowars from their platform, they allowed personal pages to stay up, but this was apparently too much for the platform to handle. Yes, some of the things Infowars and Alex Jones say are utter nonsense and borderlines on hysteria. The Free Thought Project has -- on more than one occasion -- written entire pieces condemning some of the things said by Alex Jones and the other folks at Infowars.
Never, however, have we advocated for the silencing and banning of any group. But this time, Facebook reportedly went a step further than just banning Infowars content on their website. According to reports, they are promising to ban groups and individuals for merely sharing their content.

False Tsunami Warning Reminds Us Of Revelations Wormwood Prophecy

As the National Weather Service tested its tsunami alert system on Monday, at least one coastal community in New Jersey thought the threat was real.
The National Tsunami Warning Center issued the test tsunami warning at 1:06 p.m. Eastern time. The message was labeled "TSUNAMI WARNING" and included the disclaimers "TEST...Tsunami Message Number 1...TEST" and "...THIS_MESSAGE_IS_FOR_TEST_PURPOSES_ONLY..."
But the Harvey Cedars Police Department on Long Beach Island retransmitted the alert as if the danger from an approaching tsunami was real.
At 1:28 p.m., the department sent a Nixle alert to its subscribers containing the NWS test message and the comment "Tsunami Warning until 02:06PM." That message was also cross-posted to the department's Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Four minutes later, the department followed up with "DISREGARD!!"

Remember that 1980's cough syrup commercial when Chris Robinson said, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV"? I wanted to paraphrase these immortal words when I read what actor Joaquin Phoenix of "Gladiator" fame said about his role as Jesus in the upcoming movie, "Mary Magdalene." 
Phoenix is not the Son of Man, but he plays him on the big screen. His is a very different Jesus than the one we meet in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Judging by the trailer and the press roll-out, the movie will draw heavily on a second-century Gnostic text known as "the Gospel of Mary." In a recent interview with Newsweek, Phoenix slammed early Christianity for not canonizing this and other apocryphal writings about Jesus, saying: "Why was Mary's book not included in the Bible? The stench of blatant sexism," he says, is "inescapable."
Phoenix went even further in another interview: "Somebody made that decision to exclude [Mary Magdalene's] observations and feelings about the life of Christ and her experience. There seems to have been an overt intention to exclude women from that process."
The truth is, no one excluded Mary Magdalene's experiences. Scholars universally agree that she didn't write this so-called gospel. Along with other texts like "the Apocryphon of John," and "the Sophia of Jesus Christ," "the Gospel of Mary" was never recognized by the Church as part of the New Testament.

Pre-Teen "Drag Kids" Highlight Just How Fast Our Culture Has Crumbled

One of the signs that the LGBT movement has successfully moved the Overton Window to an almost unimaginable extent is the phenomenon of "Drag Kids," which features children in heavily sexualized performances in heavily sexualized settings, dressed in drag, dancing provocatively. 
Some performances have included adult men throwing dollar bills at a 11-year-old boy as he danced--and this young boy first appeared in a drag music video when he was six-years-old.
Despite limited backlash, the growing trend of taking children to Pride and the non-stop smut provided by Netflix, TV, and Hollywood seem to have inured much of the adult population to behavior that would otherwise have been considered unacceptable without questions. Stop Using Poverty To Excuse Terrorism

It turns out that the Islamist terrorists who slaughtered more than 350 people in Sri Lanka came from one of that country's wealthiest families. This news will surely come as a surprise to those who have become accustomed to hearing political leaders and pundits claim that poverty is what drives young Muslims to become terrorists.
The whole premise behind the more than $10 billion that the United States gave to the Palestinian Authority from 1994 to 2017 was that Palestinian unemployment will lead to Palestinian terrorism--so we better give them money, and lots of it.
Fortunately, the Trump administration has reduced that aid, at least for now. Tragically, some Democrats in Congress are urging the administration to renew the aid. It seems that they haven't learned anything from history--that is, the long history of well-to-do, educated Palestinian Arabs choosing to become terrorists. Not to mention the physicians and academics who head terrorist organizations.
Every few years, some American reporter in Jerusalem is shocked to discover this reality. I recall how The Washington Post's Jerusalem bureau chief, William Booth, was positively stunned in 2016 when he realized that the latest Palestinian suicide bomber was affluent and educated.
The bomber, Abdel Hamid Abu Srour, "did not grow up in a refugee camp," Booth reported. He was "a Palestinian preppy, the scion of a well-to-do and well-known clan of eight prosperous brothers, who own and operate a string of furniture outlets and are rich enough to take their young sons for holidays in Jordan and set them up with their own shop selling clothes."
One uncle, Mahmoud Abu Srour, told Booth: "We are financially comfortable, you could say very comfortable." At a family gathering to mourn Abu Srour's death, his teenage cousins "wore pricey watches, skinny jeans and fancy sneakers."

The 22 trillion dollar debt that the federal government has accumulated gets most of the attention, but the truth is that we would still be 50 trillion dollars in debt even if the national debt was eliminated somehow.  
Today, debt levels are exploding on every level of society.  Corporate debt has more than doubled since the last financial crisis, U.S. consumers are more than 13 trillion dollars in debt, and state and local governments are piling up debt as if tomorrow will never come.  
According to a Federal Reserve chart, the total amount of debt in the U.S. financial system has now reached an astounding 72 trillion dollars.

Why The Liberal Media Don’t Show Sympathy For Murdered Christians

It is difficult to get surprised by the mainstream media's utter ignorance of religion, but last week I spotted a headline that almost seemed to be an intentional parody of that fact. 
It was an Associated Press headline by Nicole Winfield and Colleen Barry, on an article intended to helpfully give context to the events surrounding the fire at the great Paris cathedral: "Tourist mecca Notre Dame also revered as place of worship." The article with that car crash of a title was filed, of all places, from Vatican City.
Following the reaction to the fire at Notre Dame, there were the responses of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to the ruthless massacres of Christians celebrating Easter across Sri Lanka, resulting in the deaths of 321 men, women, and children and the injury of hundreds more. 
While condemnations of the recent atrocities at mosques in New Zealand by a white supremacist killer were specific in naming the ideology that sparked the murders and the faith that made the victims a target, Obama and Clinton responded to the bombing of Christians by Islamist terrorists by referring to an attack on "Easter worshippers," prompting nearly universal mockery and demands that they actually call the victims what they were: Christians, butchered in their churches because they were Christians.

When Jewish and pro-Israel Democrats were put to the test in 2015, most of them failed. Faced with the dilemma of whether to stick with the positions they had articulated for years about the need to confront and stop Iran or to support President Barack Obama's nuclear deal, the overwhelming majority did the latter. The question now is: What will they do when they are given a similar choice in the coming year?
Most Democrats had hoped the debate over Iran ended when Obama slipped approval of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) through a legislative back door rather than being confirmed as a treaty by constitutional means (which, since it would have required a two-thirds vote of approval, would not have been possible). They accepted the notion that the deal couldn't be overturned by unilateral action by the United States even if a future administration withdrew from it.

This coming June, upon the conclusion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Trump administration will supposedly unveil details of its so-called "deal of the century" to bring an end to the century-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Even before its birth, however, many have already been quick to bury the plan. 
After all, many of the relevant parties aren't hiding their reservations, some openly declaring they will refuse to accept it.
The Palestinians are looking on forlornly as their dream of having all their demands of Israel delivered on a silver platter by the international community goes up in smoke. 
While it might seek to meet the Palestinians' desires, the deal of the century is reportedly light-years from the concessions that previous administrations, from Clinton to Obama, were willing to grant them. U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal makes no mention of the creation of a Palestinian state, and also makes no demand of Israel to withdraw from all of Judea and Samaria to pre-1967 borders.
Arab countries, which can't afford to be viewed at home as "selling out" the Palestinian issue for a pittance in American economic aid, will follow in the wake of the Palestinian rejection. Arab rulers would be happy, of course, to bring the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to an end and turn their attention to the real problems afflicting them, such as the Iranian threat or their failing economies. But from there to a willingness to lie on the fence for the Palestinians, Israel and Trump, the distance is great.

New Concerns As Ring of Fire Coming To Life In Heavily Populated Areas

When skyscrapers start moving back and forth, that definitely is not a a good sign.  In recent months, there has been a tremendous amount of seismic activity along the "Ring of Fire", and a couple of significant earthquakes on Monday got a lot of attention because they happened in very heavily populated areas.
Fortunately the damage was fairly limited and only a few people died, but scientists assure us that it is only a matter of time before a killer quake hits a major city.  And considering the fact that hundreds of millions of people live along the perimeter of the Pacific Ocean, when a killer quake does strike we could potentially be talking about a disaster unlike anything we have ever seen before.
Let's start our discussion by talking about the large quake that just hit southern Mexico...
An earthquake in southern Mexico caused tall buildings to sway in the Mexican capital Monday, prompting hundreds of office workers to evacuate along a central avenue temporarily. There were no initial reports of damage or injury.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 and its epicenter was in southern Mexico near the border between Chiapas and Guerrero states. It struck at a depth of about 11 miles (18 kilometers).
Mexico City was literally built on a former lakebed, and the unique geology of the area means that Mexico City feels earthquakes more acutely than other major cities would.
Scientists tell us that one day Mexico City is likely to be absolutely flattened by an extremely large earthquake, and let us hope that day doesn't come any time soon.

Churches Have Become The #1 Target For Hate Attacks

The bombings in Sri Lanka have once again put a spotlight on the rising tide of violence against Christians all over the world.  According to Open Doors USA, an average of 105 churches and/or Christian buildings are burned or attacked every month.  
That is more than three per day, and almost all of those attacks get ignored by the mainstream media in the western world.  
In addition, an average of 345 Christians are killed for faith-related reasons every single month.  
Of course these numbers will soon be out of date, because violence against Christians continues to escalate all over the globe, and the horrifying attacks that we just witnessed in Sri Lanka are a perfect example.  The following comes from CBS News...
A series of eight bombings in Sri Lanka targeting Christian churches and hotels in three cities killed at least 207 people and wounded up to 450 others on Easter Sunday. Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardene described the coordinated blasts as a terrorist attack by religious extremists.

The False God of Feelings: Mayor Buttigieg's Pro-Gay Christianity

I've said before on BreakPoint that if your God never tells you to do anything you don't want to do, your god is probably you. If there were an Americanized translation of the Apostle's Creed for today, it would be something like this: "I believe in God the Father, Almighty, who always supports my feelings."
This kind of self-centered faith is epidemic both within the church and without, in conservative congregations and progressive ones.
The most recent case in point is Democratic presidential candidate and South Bend, Indiana mayor, Pete Buttigieg. At a recent fundraiser, he said of his same-sex "marriage": "[it] has made me a better man [and]...moved me closer to God. If being gay was a choice, it was a choice that was made far above my pay grade."
He then added, somewhat out-of-the-blue: "That's the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand, that if you have a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator."
This was, of course, a political cheap shot. Mike Pence's anti-LGBTQ reputation was secured a long time ago when, as governor of Indiana, he supported religious freedom legislation that sent progressives into hysterics (even though it was a mirror state-level copy of federal legislation that Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy had proposed).
As Mayor Pete and the long list of Democratic presidential contenders gear up for their primaries, they have to pander to their liberal base. And what better way to do that than bashing the guy whose boss you hope to unseat? For his part, Vice-President Pence refused the bait, offering compliments instead for Mayor Pete's years of public service and adding, "He knows me better than that."

"As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe," Copage, who is Black, wrote. "But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin."
Although the article was about the historical accuracy of Jesus' depicted ethnicity (particularly in relation to Church art), white versus person-of-color, this one reference to Jesus' national allegiance became the focus of media debate. At face value, the claim that Jesus was a Palestinian is anachronistic. Palestinian, as a national identity, has never existed. And Jesus was, by all accounts, a Judean who worshipped the God of Israel.

The claim that Jesus was a person of color is not necessarily accurate. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was descended from the House of David who was the offspring of Ruth the Moabite. Moabites, as the descendants of the crimson Esau, were reportedly red-haired and light-skinned.

Does the study of prophecy add value to the lives of believers they could not receive apart from it? Is it worth the effort talk about our future hope despite the controversy that rages over it today?
Yes, absolutely! The Lord provided us with prophecies regarding Israel, the rapture, and Second Coming throughout Scripture; the last book speaks almost exclusively about future things. The volume of space given to prophecy in the Bible tells us its study has great value for us.
Here are five key reasons for talking about the specifics of our hope:
1. PROPHECY CONSOLES US IN THE MIDST OF LOSS AND DESPAIR
I experienced the consoling impact of biblical prophecy at the age of ten when my dad suffered a fatal heart attack. In the midst of my sorrow, the words of 1 Thessalonians 4:12-18 provided much comfort.

She has now told the media that her seven-year-old son Jackson, adopted as a baby in 2012, is actually her daughter. In other words, Jackson is "transgender."
This comes as no surprise to some of the more obsessive observers of Hollywood, who have wondered for years if Theron was raising her son as a girl, fueled by photos of Jackson outfitted in dresses and skirts and sporting long hair and braids. UN Agency Preparing Children For War Against Israel

Elizabeth Campbell, head of the Washington Representative Office for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) wrote a piece on April 5 in The New York Times in response to an April 2 article in the same newspaper by Michael Singh of the Washington Institute of Near East Policy, which characterized UNRWA education as teaching extremism.
Campbell attacked Singh for providing "vague and unsubstantiated criticism" that UNRWA fosters extremism. She called the claim an "old repetition of an untruth," and asserted that the 715 UNRWA-run regional schools present a positive approach to conflict resolution, tolerance and human rights.
The Center for Near East Policy Research in Jerusalem draws different conclusions. The Center has retained Dr. Arnon Groiss, an expert on Arabic-language education, to examine and translate all Palestinian Authority textbooks used in UNRWA schools ever since the Palestinian Authority began producing its own materials in 2000.
In an interview with Groiss at the Center for Near East Policy Research, he said he was "astonished" to read Campbell's description of Singh's criticism as being vague and insubstantial, calling Campbell's accusation "inaccurate and misleading."
Up until 1967, Jordan and Egypt oversaw the education of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, respectively. The books were filled with anti-Israel and anti-Semitic material.
In 1967, Israel continued using the same books, yet deleted the obvious anti-Semitic and anti-Israel parts. The Palestinian Authority replaced Egypt and Jordan in ministry of Palestinian education in 1994 and reintroduced the pre-1967, uncensored books. Due to complaints from Israel, the P.A. proceeded to publish 240 of its own textbooks from 2000-06 to form a curriculum meant to be more balanced towards Israel.
Groiss issued a series of reports, from 2000 until 2010, where he evaluated the newer P.A. curriculum and presented his findings to all donor nations, to the P.A. and to UNRWA.

Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-Minn.) history of egregious antisemitic remarks and dismissal of the Islamist 9-11 attacks as "some people who did something" pale in comparison to her most recent comment which, in a subtle but horrific manner, threatens all of Judeo-Christian Western society.
Omar retweeted a New York Times op-ed by Eric V. Copage, which claimed that "Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin."
"As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe," Copage, who is Black, wrote. "But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin."
Although the article was about the historical accuracy of Jesus' depicted ethnicity (particularly in relation to Church art), white versus person-of-color, this one reference to Jesus' national allegiance became the focus of media debate. At face value, the claim that Jesus was a Palestinian is anachronistic. Palestinian, as a national identity, has never existed. And Jesus was, by all accounts, a Judean who worshipped the God of Israel.
The claim that Jesus was a person of color is not necessarily accurate. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was descended from the House of David who was the offspring of Ruth the Moabite. Moabites, as the descendants of the crimson Esau, were reportedly red-haired and light-skinned.

Yes, absolutely! The Lord provided us with prophecies regarding Israel, the rapture, and Second Coming throughout Scripture; the last book speaks almost exclusively about future things. The volume of space given to prophecy in the Bible tells us its study has great value for us.
Here are five key reasons for talking about the specifics of our hope:
1. PROPHECY CONSOLES US IN THE MIDST OF LOSS AND DESPAIR
I experienced the consoling impact of biblical prophecy at the age of ten when my dad suffered a fatal heart attack. In the midst of my sorrow, the words of 1 Thessalonians 4:12-18 provided much comfort.

Christians are slowly waking up the fact that there is no such thing as privacy and any comments in the public realm that don't line up with the status quo could get them fired.
The latest example is Kristy Higgs of Fairford, Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom who posted opposition on her personal Facebook page to teaching about homosexuality and transgenderism in the nation's schools.
"They are brainwashing our children," Higgs wrote. "Relationships and Sex Education education means, for example, that children will be taught that all relationships are equally valid and 'normal,' so that same-sex marriage is exactly the same as traditional marriage and that gender is a matter of choice, not biology, so that it's up to them what sex they are."

The Trump Administration has been a stalwart defender of Americans' religious liberty. From repealing the HHS mandate, to protecting religious rights in the workplace, and especially the appointment of justices and judges who respect the first amendment, the "more" that was promised by the President after that initial executive order has been delivered.
However, the Administration's actions concerning religious freedom outside the United States is not as impressive as its talk. Last summer's Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom featured spellbinding rhetoric delivered by a "Who's Who" of people who've devoted their lives to the cause of religious freedom. 
The ministerial culminated in a statement called the "Potomac Declaration," which stated, among other things, that "Religious freedom is universal and inalienable, and states must respect and protect this human right."
Remember the scene in the movie "Braveheart," in which Mel Gibson's William Wallace delivers a barn burner of a speech to Scottish forces, whereupon Stephen, his Irish lieutenant, asks, "Fine speech. Now what?"
While Wallace had an answer for Stephen, unfortunately the same cannot be said of the current administration, as WORLD magazine recently reported. "Under [the Trump] administration," WORLD told its readers, "refugee admissions have plunged to historic lows, with persecuted Christians in the Middle East suffering from the fallout."
Just how low? "The number of Middle East Christians admitted into the United States in 2018 fell by a staggering 98 percent from 2016. Christians from countries that Open Doors ranked highest for religious persecution saw a 76 percent decline from 2016 to 2018."

The entire world was absolutely shocked by the massive fire that engulfed the Notre Dame cathedral on Monday.  We are being told that the structure of the cathedral has been saved, but according to CNN the "entire wooden interior of Notre Dame Cathedral has been lost".  
Now that the initial shock of the fire has subsided, the Internet is buzzing with speculation about the origin of the fire.  In the end, there are only two options.  Either this was an accident, or someone intentionally started the fire.  And if the fire was intentionally started, obviously someone had a motive for doing so.
Time columnist Christopher J. Hale set off a firestorm of speculation when he tweeted that a friend who works at the cathedral told him "cathedral staff said the fire was intentionally set"...
Hale deleted the tweet just a few minutes later.
Was he lying about what he had been told?
Coming from a professional journalist, that doesn't seem likely.

"We are committed to the emergence of a European army", German chancellor Angela Merkel pledged in January, backing a plan first launched by French president Emmanuel Macron in 2017. Merkel thus confirmed a position she had voiced in November 2018, when, speaking to the European parliament in Strasbourg, she said: "We have to look at the vision of one day creating a real, true European army."
Members of the opposition Free Democratic Party (FDP) in the German federal parliament (Bundestag) wanted to know what was meant by the term "European army" and submitted this question to the government.
In early March 2019, Die Welt reported the answer and voiced surprised about how long it had taken the government to reply:

We wanted to know if pastors felt limited or pressured when it comes to speaking about controversial topics. Half of Christian pastors says they frequently (11%) or occasionally (39%) feel limited in their ability to speak out on moral and social issues because people will take offense. The other half of pastors say they only rarely (30%) or never (20%) feel limited in this way.

Abbas Between Rock & Hard Place After Israeli Elections

The top ranks of the Palestinian Authority are greatly disappointed by the results of the general elections on April 9. The hope of P.A. leader Mahmoud Abbas and the Fatah leadership that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be defeated by Benny Gantz, leader of the Blue and White Party, was dashed and ended in disappointment.
Senior PLO official Saeb Erekat expressed this view when the final results of the elections were announced by stating, "The Israelis have voted 'no to peace' to preserve the current situation. They have said 'no to peace and yes to the occupation.' "
The P.A. leadership was careful throughout the election campaign not to issue statements that could have been interpreted as interference in the elections in Israel and helpful to Netanyahu. However, every child in the West Bank and Gaza knows that the Palestinian leadership wished for Benjamin Netanyahu's downfall. 
On April 9, Abbas played the supposedly "neutral" game when he said during a tour of a Ramallah hospital, "We are watching what's happening with our neighbor, and we hope they will take the right path towards peace."

As a society we appear to be really dropping the ball, because the numbers indicate that American boys are deeply struggling in just about every area.  
Many professionals are pointing to a "crisis of fatherhood" as one of the key factors, and as I pointed out the other day, approximately a third of all U.S. children are now being raised in a home without a father.  
Of course this negatively affects our girls as well, but there is something about that lack of a masculine role model that seems to particularly hurt boys.  
However, the lack of a traditional family structure cannot explain all of the numbers that I am about to share with you.  As you will see, we are facing a crisis that will not easily be solved.

If I've heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times, from both Jews and Christians: "If you believe in Jesus, you're no longer Jewish. You were Jewish. You're not Jewish anymore."
Actually, I am Jewish and I do believe in Jesus.
You can call me a Messianic Jew.
You can call me a Jewish Christian.
I am, most certainly, both.
Christians will often quote Paul's famous words from Galatians 3:28 to buttress their point. There Paul wrote, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (KJV).
Using this same logic, a man who believes in Jesus is no longer a man and a woman who believes in Jesus is no longer a woman. Or a slave who believes in Jesus is no longer a slave and a free person who believes in Jesus is no longer a free person.
In practice, that would mean no men's meetings or women's meetings in our churches. Or no men's or ladies' rooms in our church buildings. (You get the idea.)

Busted: Thousands Of Amazon Employees Listening To Alexa Conversations

Amazon employs thousands of people to listen in on what people around the world are saying to their Alexa digital assistant, according to what is sure to be a Congressional hearing-inspiring report by Bloomberg, which cites seven people who have worked on the program.
While their job is to "help improve" NSAlexa - which powers the company's line of Echo speakers - the team "listens to voice recordings captured in Echo owners' homes and offices," which are then transcribed, annotated and fed back into the software in order to try and improve Alexa's understanding of human speech for more successful interactions. In other words, humans are effectively helping to train Amazon's algorithm.
In marketing materials Amazon says Alexa "lives in the cloud and is always getting smarter." But like many software tools built to learn from experience, humans are doing some of the teaching. 
The listening team is comprised of part-time contractors and full-time Amazon employees based all over the world; including India, Romania, Boston and Costa Rica.
Listeners work nine-hour shifts, with each reviewing as many as 1,000 audio clips per shift according to two employees from Amazon's Bucharest office - located in the top three floors of the Romanian capital's Globalworth building. The location "stands out amid the crumbling infrastructure" of the Pipera district and "bears no exterior sign advertising Amazon's presence."
While much of the work is boring (one worker said his job was to mine for accumulated voice data for specific phrases such as "Taylor Swift" - letting the system know that the searcher was looking for the artist), reviewers are also listening on people's most personal moments.
Occasionally the listeners pick up things Echo owners likely would rather stay private: a woman singing badly off key in the shower, say, or a child screaming for help. The teams use internal chat rooms to share files when they need help parsing a muddled word--or come across an amusing recording.
Occasionally Amazon listeners come across upsetting or possibly criminal recordings - such as two workers who say they listened in on what sounded like a sexual assault.

When leaders of Tammany Hall--the legendary Democratic machine that ran New York City for more than a century--would be confronted with an occasional electoral setback, their usual response was to deride it by claiming that if their handpicked candidates didn't win, then "it ain't democratic."
That's pretty much the reaction of much of the Democratic Party to the results of Israel's election. Prominent Democrats have greeted the victory of the man who was the bitter foe of President Barack Obama and, just as bad, the close friend and ally of President Donald Trump with a mixture of dismay and horror.
More to the point, they view the judgment of Israel's voters--the majority of whom voted for either Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party or other slates that were pledged to support his bid to lead the next government--as not merely wrong, but contrary to what is good for their country.
We're all entitled to our opinions about the outcomes of elections. But this revulsion on the part of Democrats for the democratically expressed will of the Israeli people is likely to widen the divisions in their party about attitudes regarding the Jewish state. 
Even more troubling is that it increases the likelihood that support for Israel will be an issue in the 2020 presidential election. That will accelerate the crackup of what is already a rapidly eroding bipartisan coalition in favor of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won a decisive electoral victory at the polls despite tying with main rival Benny Gantz, former chief of staff in the Israel Defense Forces. 
While both the ruling Likud Party and challenging Blue and White Party each are scheduled to receive 35 mandates in the 21st Knesset, the results are not nearly as close as the 35-seat figures would indicate.
For Netanyahu, who faces possible indictments for breach of trust in the coming year, the Israeli voting public gave the embattled 10-year prime minister an unequivocal endorsement. 
Likud received more mandates than during any previous election in which Netanyahu has led the party--a stunning five-mandate increase over the party's total in the 2015 election.

The average American consumer is "tapped out" when it comes to their debt load. As a matter of fact, just about everyone in the world is in the most amount of debt they have ever been in, in history.

According to Forbes, that little tidbit is "interesting" because total U.S. consumer debt, including revolving and non-revolving debt, now stands at more than $4 trillion, the most ever. To ensure that there is no misunderstanding of any kind, please say these words out loud, slowly and clearly: Michael Brown is not comparing homosexuality to pedophilia. Michael Brown is not calling homosexuals pedophiles. Michael Brown is not comparing a mutually consensual, adult relationship to an abusive, adult-child relationship.
All clear?
What I am comparing is an illogical justification of homosexuality that can just as easily be used to justify pedophilia.
Please allow me to explain.
In the past, I have demonstrated how advocates of "man-boy love" have used the identical arguments that gay activists have used, specifically:
1) Pedophilia is innate and immutable.
2) Pederasty is richly attested in many different cultures throughout history.
3) The claim that adult-child sexual relationships cause harm is greatly overstated and often completely inaccurate.
4) Consensual adult-child sex can actually be beneficial to the child.
5) Pederasty should not be classified as a mental disorder, since it does not cause distress to the pederast to have these desires and since the pederast can function as a normal, contributing member of society.
6) Many of the illustrious homosexuals of the past were actually pedophiles.
7) People are against intergenerational intimacy because of antiquated social standards and puritanical sexual phobias.

The number of Americans who identify as having no religion has risen 266 percent since 1991, to now tie statistically with the number of Catholics and Evangelicals, according to a new survey.
People with no religion - known as 'nones' among statisticians - account for 23.1 percent of the U.S. population, while Catholics make up 23 percent and Evangelicals account for 22.5 percent, according to the General Social Survey.
In other words, the "nones" are now officially the largest religious group in the United States.
At one time it would have been extremely difficult to imagine that one day the "nones" would someday surpass evangelical Christians, but it has actually happened.

Canadian Tribunal Fines Man $55,000 For Misgendering

We told you this was coming. We warned you it would happen. We were not crying wolf. We were telling you the truth. And now it is here, as a headline announces: "Canadian tribunal fines Bill Whatcott $55,000 for expressing Christian views on 'transgenderism.'" 
In other words, Whatcott called a biological male (who identifies as a female) a "biological male." That was his crime.
What a miscarriage of justice. What an assault of freedom of speech and expression.
John Carpay, president of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedom, defended Whatcott, noting in protest that, "The Supreme Court of Canada has long held that freedom of expression is the lifeblood of democracy." But not when it crosses the lines of transgender activism. Freedom halts there.
Carpay added, "Society is full of people with diverse views and the Tribunal's decision undermines the foundational principles of the free society and jeopardizes the health of Canada's democracy."

Clarion Project has discovered that a private Islamic school in Dearborn, Michigan is linked to diehard supporters of Hezbollah and the Iranian regime. The school teaches students from kindergarten through 9th grade.
Great Revelations Academy was founded in 2015 by open supporters of Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah. By their own admission, the school's founders are dedicated to spreading his message.
Fadlallah was a supporter of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran and is considered to be a key inspirer of Hezbollah. Some go so far as to describe him as the terrorist group's "spiritual leader."
Fadlallah supported the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marines barracks in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. Marines (who were serving as peacekeepers) as well as 58 French troops and six civilians.
In 2005, he reiterated his support for suicide bombings against Israel. When he died in Lebanon in 2010, Hezbollah called for three days of mourning. Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei sent his condolences.

Despite repeated comments in which she repeated hateful anti-Semitic tropes, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) escaped even the mildest slap on the wrist from her congressional colleagues. But it turns out that Kalman Yeger won't get off so easy.
Yeger, a member of the New York City Council who represents a heavily Jewish district, is in trouble for offending New York's Arab and Palestinian community with remarks that some have interpreted as Islamophobic. 
But unlike Omar--around whom many Democrats circled the wagons in order to prevent offended Jews and pro-Israel members of Congress from forcing her off the House Foreign Relations Committee--it looks as if members of his own party are abandoning the Brooklyn Democrat.
What did Yeger do? He denied the existence of a country named "Palestine," as well as earlier casting doubt on the authenticity of the Palestinians themselves.
That was enough to draw the opprobrium of fellow Democrats City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Mayor Bill De Blasio. The two asserted that if Yeger didn't retract his comments, he should be booted off the New York legislative body's Committee on Immigration. Yeger has refused to back down, with the kerfuffle leading to a noisy standoff outside his Brooklyn office, where demonstrators and counterdemonstrators exchanged insults. Late on Monday, the Council's leaders made good on their threat and removed Yeger from the committee.

In a landmark case, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has been forced out of the San Diego Unified School District.
A lawsuit was brought against the district for partnering with CAIR and allowing the Islamist organization to run a discriminatory, unconstitutional propaganda program in its schools.
The court agreed with this assessment.
The program in question gave Muslim students special privileges and gave CAIR the power to change the district curriculum to make sure Islam was looked upon more favorably.
Students and parents were made to watch biased videos, CAIR officials were allowed to teach students and teachers about Islam and students were trained "how to become allies with Muslims students."

We have never seen catastrophic flooding like this, and the NOAA is now telling us that there will be more major flooding for at least two more months.  On Thursday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned that "historic, widespread flooding" would "continue through May".

Following President Trump's proclamation recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights on Monday, Prime Minister Netanyahu compared the American leader to Cyrus the Great. While Trump's words and actions deserve our appreciation, comparisons to Cyrus are premature.
During the signing ceremony at the White House, Prime Minister Netanyahu established the historical significance of the Golan decision. "In the long sweep of Jewish history," declared the Prime Minister, "there have been a handful of proclamations by non-Jewish leaders on behalf of our people and our land: Cyrus the Great, the great Persian king; Lord Balfour; President Harry S. Truman; and President Donald J. Trump."
This was not the first comparison of a US president to the Persian king.
President Truman was the first when he actually compared himself to Cyrus. Introduced at a dinner by his friend Eddie Jacobson as the man who "helped create the State of Israel", Truman cried, "what do you mean, helped create? I am Cyrus! I am Cyrus!"
Cyrus the Great (600-530 BC) was the founder of the Persian Empire who expanded his kingdom into the largest empire the world had yet seen during his 30 year reign. From a historical perspective he is known for his many achievements, but the Bible reembers him fondly for a very specific reason.
Cyrus was the Persian king who defeated the Babylonians after their destruction of the First Temple in 586 BCE. According to the Bible, one of his first acts was to reverse the damage caused by the Babylonians:

For so long, it appeared that socialism had definitively failed in practice and had lost its appeal as an economic ideology. 
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) had crashed; its Eastern European satellites had escaped in the 1990s; China had transitioned from socialism to state capitalism beginning with the economic reforms of 1978 and has carried on energetically ever since; communist Cuba had declined to an offshore holiday resort for Canadians and Europeans, and socialist Venezuela totally collapsed. 
In a 1989 essay entitled "The End of History?", Francis Fukuyama argued that, in the events mentioned above, we were witnessing "an unabashed victory of economic and political liberalism."

Socialist parties have, of course, been present in many European countries throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, and at some time and in some countries, have been dominant. But they have tended to be "pink" rather than "red," and have generally favoured welfare state policies rather than the takeover of the means of production; at the moment, most European countries are currently struggling to stay on life-support. The British Labour Party, for instance, abandoned state ownership of the means of production in a 1993 revision of Clause IV of its constitution.

When Jonathan Edwards preached his famous sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," he compared human beings with spiders, dangling by a thread over the fires of God's just judgment, upheld only by His mercy.

The scheme, in which fifty people were charged by the FBI with cheating to get unqualified students into some of the nation's most prestigious schools, is merely the latest in a long line of similar incidents. According to The New York Times:

Between 1992 and 1996, several hundred people paid between $2,000 and $9,000 for the answers to tests used to gain admittance to graduate school. Expert test-takers in New York would memorize the answers and relay them via phone to testing sites in Chicago and Los Angeles, where the answers would be carved in code into pencils given to students.

From 2008 to 2011, twenty students from five schools on Long Island were paid $500 to $3,600 to take the SAT and ACT for other students. The scheme prompted the requirement that students provide a photo ID when signing up for tests.

The Kodaiji Temple (a 400-year old Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, Japan) made world headlines this month when they unveiled a sutra-chanting android named Mindar. Mindar is modeled on a Buddhist deity named Kannon. 
Worshiped throughout Japan, Kannon is known as the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. Tradition says Kannon takes different forms to help people. Now, the Temple proclaims Kannon has taken the form of an android.
In an effort to appeal to younger generations, Kodaiji Temple administrators teamed with Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, head of intelligent robotics at Osaka University. Ishiguro created Mindar, a robot with a human-like silicon face and hands, who is pre-programmed to recite The Heart Sutra - a revered Buddhist text. 
Temple visitors can ask the robot questions, and using artificial intelligence, Mindar answers in Japanese while English and Chinese subtitles appear on the wall behind it. With built-in cameras, Mindar makes eye contact with questioners, creating the illusion it's alive and interacting with people. 
In case you're wondering, this isn't the first Buddhist foray into robotics. In 2016, a Chinese Buddhist Temple unveiled a robot monk named Xian'er - a 24-inch bald robot draped in yellow robes. Xian'er could answer simple questions and featured a touch-screen display on his chest. 
In 2017, a company in Japan unveiled a robot Buddhist priest programmed to chant at funerals. These robots are less complex than Mindar, but the concept is the same. So what makes Mindar truly different? It's Mindar's human likeness, interactivity, and one other trait - people worship it. That's right. You can see the video here. It is also one of the religious prophecies of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and his successor, the current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that Israel will be eventually erased from the face of the earth.

For the ever-dwindling minority of Christians who remain in the Palestinian territories, many are recluses -- bound by political and social pressures that have jeopardized their right to live out fundamental aspects of their faith, and have resulted in severe violations of their basic human rights.
A report published in January by the faith-based watchdog group OpenDoors USA, ranked the Palestinian territories #49 within its annual assessment of regions of the world with high levels of Christian persecution. The data reveals that of its five million inhabitants, only 46,600 Christian Arabs remain in the West Bank and Gaza combined.
In August 2016, I had the opportunity to visit one of the few evangelical Christian outposts in the Palestinian territories -- a congregation of just 300 Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem.
Our American Christian delegation gathered in the church hall as senior pastor Steven Khoury explained that their ministry has persisted for over three decades despite continual threats to his own life and to the members of his congregation. Since its founding in 1980, First Baptist Church of Bethlehem has been the site of nearly 15 bombings, countless death threats, and a tragic casualty -- Khoury's own brother, who was stabbed while entering a vehicle outside his home.
The issue of religious tolerance and human rights remains a widespread problem in the Middle East, one brought to light by several NGOs and watchdog groups since the early 2000s. In recent years, mainstream media outlets like CNN, Reuters, and the BBC have begun regularly reporting on attacks on Coptic Christians in Egypt, religiously-motivated genocide in Yemen, and suicide bombings aimed at Christian villages in Lebanon.

January 22, 2019 marked the 46th anniversary of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that continues to tear at our national conscience. That was the date when the Roe v. Wade case legalized abortion throughout the United States.

Some well-informed Americans may be aware of China's horrifying "Social Credit System" that was recently unveiled as a method of eradicating any dissent in the totalitarian state. 
Essentially freezing out anyone who does not conform to the state's version of the ideal citizen, the SCS is perhaps the most frightening control system being rolled out today. 
That is, until you consider what is coming next.
Unbeknownst to most people, there appears to be a real attempt to create a system in which all citizens are rationed their "wages" digitally each month in place of a paycheck, including the ability to gain or lose money. 
This system would see any form of dissent resulting in the cut off of those credits and the ability to work, eat, or even exist in society. It would not only be the end of dissent but of any semblance of real individuality.
Here's how the Social Credit System operates in China.
First, however, for those who are unaware of the Social Credit System as it operates in China, we should briefly describe just what has taken place there. The Social Credit System in China isn't merely a punishment for criticizing the state as is the case in most totalitarian regimes, the SCS can bring the hammer down for even the slightest infraction such as smoking in a non-smoking zone.
One summary of the SCS can be found in Business Insider's article by Alexandra Ma entitled "China has started ranking citizens with a creepy 'social credit' system -- here's what you can do wrong, and the embarrassing, demeaning ways they can punish you," where Ma writes,
The Chinese state is setting up a vast ranking system that will monitor the behavior of its enormous population, and rank them all based on their "social credit."
The "social credit system," first announced in 2014, aims to reinforce the idea that "keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful," according to a government document.
The program is due to be fully operational nationwide by 2020, but is being piloted for millions of people across the country already. The scheme will be mandatory.
At the moment the system is piecemeal -- some are run by city councils, others are scored by private tech platforms which hold personal data.
Like private credit scores, a person's social score can move up and down depending on their behavior. The exact methodology is a secret -- but examples of infractions include bad driving, smoking in non-smoking zones, buying too many video games and posting fake news online.
The article points out that violating the "social code," can result in being banned from flying or using the train, using the internet, decent schooling, getting a job, staying in hotels, and having your pet taken away. China is also taking advantage of the mob mentality by branding violators as "bad citizens."
Almost everyone one of these "punishments" have already taken place in China as of the writing of this article and the country has announced its plans to have the system fully in place and functioning by 2020.

Over the past week, Senior Colson Fellow Glenn Sunshine has taken to Facebook to do something that much of the mainstream media--to its discredit--has neglected to do: alerting people to what is happening to Christians in places like Nigeria.

Last summer on BreakPoint, I talked about the violence targeting Christians in what's known as the "middle belt" of Nigeria. The population of Nigeria is almost evenly divided between Muslims and Christians. That religious split largely follows geographic lines: The northern part of the country is predominantly Muslim, the eastern and southern parts of the country heavily Christian.

   

 
The "Middle Belt" is, as you probably guessed, ethnically and religiously diverse. In this part of the country, Christians have been on the receiving end of a campaign that Open Doors calls "religious cleansing," that is, an attempt "to eradicate Christianity" from the region.
One of the most notorious Islamist groups in the world, Boko Haram, is responsible for killing thousands of Christians and displacing countless more in northern Nigeria. But Boko Haram isn't the only group targeting Christians there.
In late June, Christian leaders claimed that "over 6,000 persons--mostly children, women and the aged--have been maimed and killed in night raids by armed Fulani herdsmen." The Fulani are an ethnic group that are overwhelmingly Muslim, and for the record, their raids are not always at night.
In their statement, Nigerian Christian leaders also complained about the "continuous abduction of under-aged Christian girls by Muslim youths..." These girls "are forcefully converted to Islam and taken in for marriage without the consent of their parents."

While Open Doors calls what is happening in the Middle Belt "religious cleansing," Nigerian Christian leaders have called it genocide, and not without good reason. Under the International Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, genocide consists of action intended to destroy in whole or in part, "a national, ethnic, racial or religious group."

Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) has a lot of "firsts" to her credit. She is the first Palestinian Arab elected to the U.S. Congress. She is one of the first two Muslim women to be elected to Congress. And now she is the first member of Congress to make a fraudulent claim about her own grandmother in order to score points against Israel.
Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union with Jake Tapper" on March 17, Tlaib was asked about her claims that "racism" and "Islamophobia" were the real motives behind the widespread criticism of the recent anti-Semitic remarks by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Rep. Tlaib responded to Tapper that both she and Omar had become "an easier target" because they are "very vocal against human-rights violations, especially in the country of Israel ... we are coming from a place of personal experiences, as being people of color, with my living grandmother in the West Bank in the occupied territories, that we want to be heard and we want to be seen."
Notice the crucial role that Grandma plays in the congresswoman's argument. Tlaib knows that if she is perceived as just another Israel-basher, her attack on alleged Israeli "human-rights violations" would carry no weight. So, she has to prove that she has some special insight or connection, something that gives her claims credibility. That's where Grandma comes in.

For several decades, Christians have speculated on whether or not the European Union is the final world empire outlined in the Bible. The Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation point to a revived Roman Empire that will appear in the end times (Daniel 7:23; Revelation 17:10).

I'm going out on a limb. I'm about to make a bold prediction. Contrary to the prognostications of Beto O'Rourke, the world will not end in 12 years. At least not by climate change. There. I said it.
Now, it's possible that the Lord will choose to return in 12 years. But that's another story.
In the age of climate change hysteria, the end-of-the-world clock is already ticking. And it's ticking fast.
"The scientists are unanimous on this. We have no more than 12 years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis," O'Rourke said. "Can we make it? I don't know. It's up to every one of us. Do you want to make it?"
This over-the-top, apocalyptic, climate change rhetoric deserves a skeptical response. The question is: Will it get the skeptical, critical response it deserves, or will the hysteria reach a fever pitch?

Yes, by that I mean the leader of the UK's Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, who in his nearly four years at the helm, has taken an extreme left turn along the progressive highway. With the recent midterm elections in the United States, an American analog has been discovered within the Democratic Party.

A comfortable majority of Americans continue to sympathize with Israel over the Palestinians in 2019, according to the annual World Affairs survey published on Wednesday by top polling firm Gallup.
"Americans' overall views toward Israel and the Palestinian Authority have changed little in the past year, with roughly seven in 10 viewing Israel very or mostly favorably and two in 10 viewing the Palestinian Authority in the same terms," a Gallup analysis of the poll stated.
The latest poll "finds a slight softening of Americans' partiality toward Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, particularly among moderate/liberal Republicans and, to a lesser extent, liberal Democrats," the analysis said.
Conducted during the first ten days of February -- nearly a month before the present row in Washington, DC, over antisemitic comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in relation to US support for Israel -- the poll also showed that Americans remain largely unmoved by the Palestinian case against the Jewish state. "Twenty-one percent view the Palestinian Authority favorably, identical to last year and similar to the finding most years since 2010," the Gallup analysis said.
Gallup's figures for 2019 reveal that 69 percent of Americans have a "mostly" or "very" favorable view of Israel; in stark contrast, 70 percent hold a "mostly" or "very" unfavorable view of the Palestinian Authority.

Last February 15 marked the four year anniversary of the martyrdom of 21 Christians--20 Coptic Orthodox from Egypt and one Ghanaian.  It was commemorated by several groups, including Coptic Solidarity, which summarized the event in a February 15, 2019 statement:
This week in 2015, 21 men were brutally beheaded on a Mediterranean beach in Libya, by members of ISIS. They had been captured by ISIS a few months earlier and pressured to renounce their faith in Christ and convert to Islam.
These 21 modern martyrs chose their faith and love for Jesus Christ over the opportunity to extend their mortal lives....  All were given the opportunity to convert to Islam to save their lives, yet each chose the love they had for Jesus above the love they had for their families and own lives. 
Reportedly, the Ghanaian captive on seeing the faith of his fellow Coptic Orthodox captives chose their faith and death over saving himself.
Inasmuch as the 21 martyrs should be remembered and commemorated, the fact is, they are ultimately modern day reflections of an ancient (and ongoing) phenomenon that permeates nearly fourteen centuries of history: Muslims slaughtering Christians who refuse to renounce Christ and embrace Muhammad.
Indeed, this very week, the Eastern Orthodox Church commemorates 42 other Orthodox Christians who were also beheaded 1,170 years before half their number--the 21 Copts/Ghanaian--were executed under very similar circumstances.  Known as the 42 Martyrs of Amorium, their story follows:

According to the best available data, the most reliable predictor of children's ongoing church attendance is how consistently their own father attends.
In a classic article at Touchstone, Robbie Low describes stunning research by Swiss demographers that compares families in which one parent, both, or neither regularly attended church. In households where only the mother went to services every week, a minuscule 2-3 percent of children grew up to do the same. 
In households where both father and mother attended, that number jumped to 33 percent of their children, with a further 41 percent coming to church irregularly. Only a quarter of kids whose mom and dad both made church a priority dropped out entirely. Clearly, dad makes a difference.

A chilling quote is often attributed to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin: "One death is a tragedy. One million deaths are a statistic." Stalin is alleged to have said this in the days leading up to one of the largest man-made disasters and mass-murders in history: the 1932 Ukrainian famine.
It may be that the quote actually dates back even earlier, to a 1916 anarchist periodical. Either way, the line captures the awful reason that mass-murders like Stalin's are so often overlooked or ignored while they're happening. 
As the anarchist periodical explained, we tend to find the starvation of one child more shocking than the starvation of a million children because our minds are simply "unable to grasp" death on such a scale. "Suffering," said the publication, "is so intimately personal a thing that it must be explained through the personal equation, if at all."
Anyone who wants to truly communicate the horror of killing needs to do more than cite statistics. They have to tell stories. This holds true for any atrocity, including one that has claimed more lives than even the highest estimates of Stalin's regime.

The buzz around microchip implants was ratcheted up a notch recently with a demonstration at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona where a man volunteered to to have a chip inserted under his skin, and another showed off how to make payments using his chip insert.
One of the volunteers, Edgar Pons said he decided to have an RFID chip implanted under his skin because it contained credentials to open the door to his house.

As Pons was undergoing the procedure, Alex Rodriguez Vitello, a physicist, engineer, curator and explorer at Barcelona-based technology company Alpha, said;
"The chip is the size of a grain of sand or two and it's covered in a material that is biocompatible so our body doesn't degrade it over time."
During the presentation at the MWC 2019 -- organized by Spanish bank Sabadell, a man named Pau who had already been fitted with a chip, made a payment by placing his smartphone over the skin covering the chip.
"What we have been seeing now is what the future of payments could be," said Anna Puigoriol, a financial services manager at Sabadell.
This chip implant is the same technology that allows you to use Apple Pay or Samsung Pay at more technologically inclined outlets today. Banks are considering its deployment but are proceeding cautiously due to privacy and tech concerns.

'Queer Theory' Scholar Confirms Indoctrination Goal Of Gay Clubs In Schools

Earlier this week, a Catholic blogger tipped me off on Twitter, sending me the link to a PhD thesis published earlier this month titled, "Gay-Straight Alliances and Student Activism in Ontario Public Secular and Catholic High Schools," written by Alicia A. Lapointe of the University of Western Ontario. 
Lapointe's thesis essentially confirms what many parental rights advocates have been pointing out for years: That the prime function of GSAs is not simply to be a "support group," as LGBT activists have claimed. Rather, these groups are intended to be a way of promoting a specific ideological agenda within the school system, especially within the Catholic school system.
Lapointe is up front about this, laying out her thesis as an "in-depth examination of the educative and activist function of the GSAs in two public and two public Catholic Ontario secondary schools," which she conducts through the lens of "queer theory," "critiquing the heteronormative underpinnings of schooling" as well as scrutinizing the "cisnormative infrastructure." 
Not only does Lapointe lay out the activist role of GSAs within the Catholic school system, but she expresses frustration throughout her work whenever she feels that this activism is being inhibited by Catholic doctrine, and advocates directly for the ideologies she seeks to promote to be integrated directly into the school system. Brussels & The Myth Of The 'Lone Wolf' Terrorist

At around 3:30 in the afternoon on May 24, 2014, a man wearing a baseball cap and armed with a Kalashnikov rifle and handgun stormed the Jewish Museum in Brussels and opened fire. 
The attack lasted less than 90 seconds, but it ended the lives of Emanuel and Miriam Riva (an Israeli couple on holiday from Tel Aviv), and a French woman named Dominique Sabrier. A young Belgian man who worked at the museum, Alexandre Strens, was critically wounded and taken to a hospital, where he died on June 6.
The suspect, Mehdi Nemmouche, a 29-year-old French national of Algerian origin, was arrested six days later in Marseille, after a continent-wide manhunt. French Deputy Prosecutor Ine Van Wymersch said at the time that the perpetrator "probably acted alone, was armed and well prepared."
Her assessment was rapidly shared across international media outlets, and Nemmouche was classified as a so-called "lone wolf" -- an individual that acts alone, and performs an act of terror separate from any named group.
However, the killer was anything but a "lone wolf." In an interconnected world, so-called "lone wolf" jihadists are almost always part of a lethal pack. And they will continue prowling for prey, undeterred, until we recognize them as such.
Nemmouche had previously spent a year in Syria, where he fought with the Islamic State and was known as a notorious torturer of prisoners. He had a history of criminal activity, although not related to terrorism, and previously served five years in prison for armed robbery, during which he was likely exposed to radical Islamic teachings. Just three weeks after his release in September 2012, Nemmouche traveled to Syria to join the Islamic State, and eventually returned to Belgium in 2013.

Losing Hope: Drug, Alcohol, & Suicide Deaths Hit Record Levels

For the third year in a row, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control, American life expectancy dropped.
The last time this happened was a century ago, in the years 1915-1918, years marked by our entry into World War I and the outbreak of the "Spanish Flu" pandemic, which killed 675,000 Americans.
This time, neither war nor pestilence is behind the drop in life expectancy. The threats are not external, but internal.

The biggest factors behind the drop in life expectancy among Americans over the last three years are drug overdoses and suicides. In 2017, more than 70,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, and approximately 45,000 people intentionally took their own lives.
These deaths, along with alcohol-related deaths, have been dubbed "deaths of despair" by researchers Anne Case and Angus Deaton.
The "despair" referred to by Case and Deaton is largely economic, resulting from diminished job prospects and other personal disappointments. As Case put it, "Your family life has fallen apart, you don't know your kids anymore, all the things you expected when you started out your life just haven't happened at all."
As a result, people turn to alcohol and drugs to ease their pain. An increasing number take their own lives.
Certainly, Case and Deaton's explanation is partially true. But it doesn't explain the 30-percent rise in suicide rates among 15-to-24 year-olds, who haven't experienced these kinds of disappointments. Nor does material deprivation explain why the suicide rate among African Americans and Hispanics is only about a third that of white Americans despite being, on average, poorer.

Tensions between Israel and Hamas are surging again, following a string of attacks from Gaza and Israeli retaliation airstrikes.
The reason for the deteriorating is ultimately simple: Hamas is struggling to manage Gaza economically, it refuses to divert funds from its military wing to civilian needs, and the Strip's infrastructure is eroding at an alarming rate.
All of these factors add up to a potential implosion in Gaza, which could mean that the Islamist regime will find itself facing an internal revolt. To avoid this fate, Hamas is doing what it has tried to do for an entire year: escalate the security situation, and ratchet up the pressure on Israel and other regional actors, though stop short of triggering a war.

Palestinians Uses International Women’s Day To Glorify Female Terrorists

To mark International Women's Day, Palestinian Authority TV broadcast an interview with the director of the Palestinian Women's Union in Gaza, Amal Hamad.
Instead of discussing the achievements of Palestinian women or the inequality that they suffer in Palestinian society, Hamad chose to highlight that Palestinian women have played an important role in violence and terror, what she calls the "Palestinian national struggle."
"We have had female martyrs, wounded and prisoners. ... The women were the first to take part in the battle. That is why we also have female martyrs--Shadia Abu Ghazaleh (i.e., terrorist, prepared bombs for terror attacks), Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children), Wafa Idris (i.e., first female suicide bomber, murdered one), Ayyat Al-Akhras (i.e., youngest female suicide-bomber, murdered two), Darin Abu Aisheh (i.e., female suicide bomber, wounded three) ... "
Indeed, the female Palestinian murderers do enjoy a special position in Palestinian society. Terrorists Shadia Abu Ghazaleh and Dalal Mughrabi both have P.A. schools named after them. All the terrorist murderers she mentioned are the focus of constant attention and glorification.
Focusing the attention on the Palestinian female murderers obviously deflects attention from the real problems faced by Palestinian women. One female P.A. TV reporter instructed the viewers "who use beatings and violence to solve their marital problems" to "carefully read" and "obey" the Koran's "religious rules for beatings":

Court Ruling: Opposing Child's Transgenderism Is Committing

The day is rapidly approaching here in Canada when the transgender ideology will entirely trump the rights of parents. 
We're seeing that with the sex education curriculums in schools, we're seeing that in several provinces in regard to parents being able to seek therapy that helps their children become comfortable in their own bodies if they suffer from gender dysphoria, and now a truly terrifying judgement has been passed down from British Columbia's top court. 
A British Columbia Supreme Court judge ruled that a 14-year-old child has the capacity to consent to their own medical treatments, specifically to receive hormone injections to "transition".
The child's father had sought to block medical treatments until a fuller hearing could take place on the implications of the treatment, saying he believes his child does not understand the risks and consequences involved, and he is concerned about the harm that can come to the child.
The father, who says the case is not about transgenderism but is about parental rights, is planning on appealing the court's decision.
Perhaps the most chilling declaration from the judge's statement is that any attempt to persuade the child to abandon treatment ... "shall be considered to be family violence" under the B.C. Family Law Act.

Amazon Crosses A Very Dangerous Censorship Line

With the news last week that Amazon has banned Mohammed's Koran: Why Muslims Kill for Islam, co-authored by British activist Tommy Robinson and Peter McLoughlin, Amazon has crossed a very dangerous and precarious line.
Two immediate questions come to mind. First, why ban a book critiquing Islam when a host of other books critiquing - no, harshly attacking - other religious faiths are available on Amazon? Second, why ban this book and not other books that critique Islam? Why draw the line here?
When McLoughlin, who helped expose the "grooming" crimes committed by some British Muslims, received word that the book had been removed from Amazon, he wrote, "This is the twenty-first century equivalent of the Nazis taking out the books from university libraries and burning them.
"Can you think of another scholarly book on Islam that has been banned by Amazon? Mein Kampf is for sale on Amazon. As are books like the terrorist manual called The Anarchist Cookbook."
Yet Mohammed's Koran gets banned?
According to Robert Spencer, who has authored scholarly works critiquing the Koran, Robinson and McLoughlin's book "endeavors to illustrate how violent jihadists justify their actions by referring to Islamic texts and teachings -- and that's all. Robinson and McLoughlin call for no violence. Their book is accurate."
Indeed, one could readily ask, if their book was banned by Amazon, why not ban Spencer's related books, such as: The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion; or, The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran; or The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (And the Crusades); or The History of Jihad: From Muhammad to ISIS? (Note that this last title, released in 2018, is currently #1 on Amazon under the category, "Muhammad and Islam.")

Palestinians: Marching Backwards As Israel Prepares For Elections

Israelis are scheduled to head to the ballot boxes on April 9 to vote for a new parliament (Knesset). This will be the fifth general election in Israel since 2006.
The Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, on the other hand, have, since 2006, failed to hold a single election for their parliament, known as the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC).
Since its inception in 1994, the Palestinian Authority (PA) has held only two legislative elections: the first in 1996 and the second in 2006. The PLC is elected for four years only, but political rivalries among Palestinian factions have blocked any agreement on holding the vote on time.
Since 1994, the Palestinians have also held only two presidential elections: the first in 1996 and the second in 2005. Yasser Arafat won the first election with 88.2% of the vote. His only opponent was a Samiha Khalil, a prominent female charity worker, who got only 11.5% of the vote.
Mahmoud Abbas won the second presidential election, which took place on January 9, 2005. After winning 62% of the vote, he was elected to a four-year term as the new president of the PA. The 83-year-old Abbas was one of seven candidates who ran in the election.
Israel has held seven general elections since the establishment of the PA in 1994, and has since elected five prime ministers: Shimon Peres, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert. The Palestinians, by contrast, have only elected two presidents in the past 25 years: Arafat and Abbas.
At this stage, it seems unclear whether the Palestinians will manage to hold the long-overdue presidential and parliamentary elections. Abbas has just entered his 15th year of his four-year-term, while the Palestinian parliament has been inoperative since 2007, the year Hamas violently seized control of the Gaza Strip.
Abbas recently decided to dissolve the Palestinian parliament. His decision drew sharp criticism from several Palestinian groups, including Hamas. Abbas's political rivals have condemned his move as "illegal and unconstitutional." Abbas says he wants to hold new elections for the parliament and has instructed his government and the Palestinian Central Elections Committee to start preparing for the vote.
It is anyone's guess as to how Abbas will hold parliamentary elections when Hamas and other Palestinian groups are saying that they will boycott the vote. Under the current circumstances, Abbas may have to hold the elections solely in the territories under the control of his PA in the West Bank, and not the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

For the third year in a row, the US News & World Report annual international survey has found Israel to be the eighth most powerful country on the planet. The ranking was arrived at following responses from 21,000 people in four separate global regions.
The most powerful countries are categorized based on their alliances, global and cultural influence, economy, and entrepreneurship. Unsurprisingly, the United States was ranked as the most powerful nation in the world. It was followed by Russia, China, Germany and the United Kingdom rounding out the top five.
Israel's ranking put it behind European powerhouse and former imperial power, France, and Japan, but ahead of two Middle Eastern rivals, Saudi Arabia, which ranked ninth and the United Arab Emirates, ranked 11th. South Korea was considered the world's 10th most powerful nation.

It's been a relatively quiet year for jihadists in the West. This, combined with the military fall of the Islamic State, has led politicians and pundits alike to declare a victory of sorts: ISIS is defeated, they announce, or they condemn concerns about potential Islamist terrorist attacks as racist "Islamophobia."
