 Trans-Faith Takes Over The Church: Transgender Pastors & Renaming Ceremonies

A pandemic of perversion has engulfed our society as LGBTQ activists demand that we bow down at the altar of moral relativism. But, instead of providing clear Biblical answers to this cultural chaos, many churches have fallen in league with them by aligning the Gospel message to conform with this twisted mindset. 
From non-binary deacons that refuse to accept that they are either men or women to hyper-sexual, church-sponsored drag shows, to transgender baptisms and renaming ceremonies, the assault on Biblical values has intensified. 
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of compassion and salvation but, in some churches, that message has been warped to take the shape of explicit support and even promotion of gender confusion and sin rather than an ethic of faithful marriage between men and women.
The Bible sternly warns against leading little ones astray: "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18.6).

I'm all for environmental stewardship. There's something to be said for a biblically-based ecology. But I find it beyond ironic that a staunchly liberal seminary which supports a woman's "right" to abortion held a special chapel service to make confession to plants. So, it's fine to take the lives of unborn babies in the womb, but we must confess our sins to the plants. May God help us.
On September 17, Union Theological Seminary tweeted, "Today in chapel, we confessed to plants. Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.
"What do you confess to the plants in your life?" they asked.

Ignorance About History Makes A Comeback For America’s Youth

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), a member of "The Squad," is getting some  flack for claiming that millennials are more "informed" and "willing to go to the streets" than the Greatest Generation that endured the Great Depression and won World War II.
She also opined that her own generation "actually takes time to read and understand our history, the history of the labor movement, history of civil rights, history of economics, history of the United States, history of colonialism, and they're not afraid to have those conversations."
Understandably, she left out the Holocaust, given her ill-informed equation of US immigrant detention camps with German concentration camps. The popularity of AOC's ignorance is partly explained by a poll, commissioned by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany released on Holocaust Remembrance Day.
It showed that two-thirds of American millennials surveyed could not identify what Auschwitz is, and that 23 percent haven't heard of the Holocaust or are not sure whether they've heard of it -- twice the percentage of US adults as a whole.
It is often said that the best cure for ignorance -- and contempt for what your parents think -- has always been experience. Even the Greatest Generation had to learn. 
Many as teenagers were attracted to the isolationist "America First" movement of the 1930s. That was before Pearl Harbor and the horrors of World War II taught them a bitter lesson about the necessity of fighting totalitarianism. That life-changing lesson carried over after World War II into the Cold War.

Turkey Seeks To Go Nuclear - Another Trigger For Ezekiel 38?

During the 17 years he has ruled NATO-member Turkey, the country's Islamist strongman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has rarely missed an opportunity stealthily to convert Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's secular, pro-Western establishment into a rogue state hostile to Western interests. 

Erdogan now wants to make it a rogue state with nuclear weapons.
"They say we can't have nuclear-tipped missiles, though some have them. This, I can't accept," Erdogan said in a September 4 speech, rejecting calls to prevent his country from acquiring nuclear weapons while conveniently forgetting that Turkey has signed the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty in 1980. 
In other words, Turkey's elected leader publicly declares that he intends to breach an international treaty signed by his country. Turkey is also a signatory to the 1996 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, which bans all nuclear detonations, for any purpose.
This is not, in fact, the first time Erdogan has voiced an eagerness to make Turkey a nuclear-armed state. As early as 2008 -- when he was the poster child of naïve Western statesmen and intellectuals who believed he was a reformist democrat -- Erdogan said: "Countries that oppose Iran's nuclear weapons should not have nuclear weapons themselves." Despite his use of the plural "countries," Erdogan was apparently pointing his finger at the country he hates the most: Israel.

I just got back from a Mission trip to Haiti last night. If you're not familiar with the conditions there, they are terrible. Everything there is broken. The government, the culture, the land, the economy, the health of the people. Everything.
It's almost as if the land itself if cursed. Even satellite images like the one above (Haiti at left, the Dominical Republic across the border at right) tell a story. Generations of corruption and greed, voodoo practice, a lack of vision, and a lack of education, have kept this country among the poorest in the world. I have been to some of the poorest areas of Brazil and the Dominican Republic but I've never seen the level of poverty and brokenness that I saw in Haiti.
It has an official 80% unemployment rate, but it's really worse than that. Even someone selling vegetables once a week is considered "employed". It's probably more like a 95%+ unemployment rate by real numbers. Most people in the villages eat once every other day. Starvation and malnutrition are common place.

For many girls, these stars are their role models--and those role models are making it very clear that killing pre-born children in the womb is something to celebrate.
Selena Gomez, the formerly squeaky-clean Disney star who once wore a purity ring to let her fans know that she was waiting for marriage, has long swapped out that piece of jewelry with something very different: A "1973" necklace to "honor" Roe v. Wade, the abortion decision that resulted in the destruction of more than fifty million pre-born children in the womb and counting. 
Miley Cyrus, her fellow once-straitlaced Disney alumni, posted a photograph of herself to Instagram wielding an enormous cake with the words "Abortion is Healthcare" written across it with pink icing, her jaws gaping wide to take an enormous bite. 
Both pop stars are now singing a distinctly different tune--and millions of young girls are listening.
Many pop stars have begun to openly campaign against protections for pre-born children in the womb, with Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga all signing a letter produced by Planned Parenthood (which facilitates hundreds of thousands of abortions every year) titled "Bans Off My Body."

Drone Warfare/Terrorism Only Just Beginning

The vulnerability of infrastructure to drone terrorism was just laid bare this week as ten drones launched by Iran-backed militants sparked a huge fire at the world's largest oil processing facility and a major oilfield in Saudi Arabia where over 5 percent of the world's daily supply is produced.
Yemen's Houthi rebels, considered an Iranian proxy force in the region, have claimed responsibility for the attacks at Abqaiq in Buqayq, which contains the world's largest oil processing plant, and Khurais, which contains the country's second largest oilfield.  
The fires have now been brought under control but the disruption is still expected to have an impact on oil prices around the world as the flow of oil is disrupted with some estimates suggesting 50% of Saudi output could be temporarily affected.   
Last week Hamas militants used a drone to drop a bomb on the Israeli side of the Gaza-Israel perimeter fence hitting a military vehicle, marking the first time an attack occurred with a drone piloted from Gaza.
During the same time period Hezbollah shot down an Israeli drone performing reconnaissance over Lebanon and last month Iran shot down a US drone flying over the Strait of Hormuz, almost sparking a larger conflict.
Drone and anti-drone conflict is on the rise worldwide and many experts fear the use of weaponized drones by lone individuals or small groups--some acting as proxies of nation-states, on US soil is only a matter of time.
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have declared unmanned aerial systems, or drones, as one of the greatest national security threats to America -- rating it as severe a concern as cybersecurity hacks, critical infrastructure attacks, and terrorism.
Civilian drones pose a "steadily escalating threat," as the devices are likely to be used by terrorists, criminal groups or drug cartels to carry out attacks in the U.S., FBI Director Christopher Wray previously told a Senate committee.
"The FBI assesses that, given their retail availability, lack of verified identification requirement to procure, general ease of use, and prior use overseas," drones will be used in an attack in the U.S. including "a mass gathering," Wray said.

Some Good News On The Front Lines Of The Culture Wars

Until Jesus returns and sets up His perfect kingdom, the culture wars will continue to rage, and there will be many setbacks along the way. But that doesn't mean there won't be some real victories as well. Let's focus on some positive, recent news.
1) The Number of Abortions in America Continues to Drop.
To be sure, this news is hardly all positive, since hundreds of thousands of babies are still aborted every year in the USA. How excited would we be about a hypothetical headline during World War II that stated, "The number of Jews being slaughtered is declining"? Or, in 1850 in America, "The number of slaves is less today than 20 years ago"?
At the same time, one less abortion means one less baby killed in the womb, and for that, we rejoice.
According to the latest reports, "The number and rate of abortions across the United States have plunged to their lowest levels since the procedure became legal nationwide in 1973, according to new figures released Wednesday" (meaning, September 18, 2019).

Could Benny Gantz Make The Left Love Israel Again?

The results from Israel's second attempt at electing a government in 2019 are like a jigsaw puzzle whose pieces don't fit. There's no getting around the fact that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the big loser. But it's also true that Blue and White Party leader Benny Gantz didn't exactly win either. 
Though the Blue and White Party is now the largest and leads Likud by two Knesset seats, the parties that will recommend Gantz for prime minister still fall short of a majority, even if the Arab ones are included in the total.
In order for Israel to get a unity government and avoid a third election within a year--an unthinkable disaster that would probably produce an even more dismal result for Netanyahu if he tries to go that route--Blue and White is going to have to go back on its promise not to join a coalition with Netanyahu.
Alternately, the Likud members of Knesset would have to abandon their pledge not to dump the prime minister. Other scenarios involving the haredi parties joining forces with their secular foes or choosing to govern with anti-Zionist Arab parties remain equally implausible.
But let's assume for the sake of argument that by some feat of political magic--or further misjudgments and hubris on the part of Netanyahu that brought the Jewish state all these months of chaos--Gantz does find a way to get the 61 votes that will enable him to govern.
If so, we can be sure that such a turn of events will be greeted with hosannas by the international media and Israel's American critics, both Jewish and non-Jewish. Few figures on the world stage have been as thoroughly demonized as Netanyahu.

The Political Downfall Of Israel's Right-Wing

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fighting for his political career as he continues to get battered by a complicated parliamentary system that he has led for the past 10 years--13 years in total.
Throughout his tenure, a high percentage of Israel's electorate has consistently supported and voted for Netanyahu's Likud Party, with more than 1 million Israelis voting this week for Likud. The high number of votes is significant because they were cast despite of, or perhaps in response to, the ongoing charges against him by Israel's attorney general, Avichai Mandelblit.
In addition to Netanyahu's pending legal woes, it's the right-wing flank--Netanyahu's natural coalition partners--that has been imploding and defecting, now leaving the prime minister short of a parliamentary majority.
In November 2018, a year before the government's term was to end, Avigdor Lieberman resigned his post as defense minister and pulled his six-mandate Yisrael Beiteinu Party out of a stable, right-wing and religious coalition totaling 67 mandates. Lieberman charged that the government (of which he was part) was reacting too weakly to ongoing conflict with Gaza at Netanyahu's instruction.
Lieberman's resignation left the government with a 61-mandate right-wing majority. Rather than continue to lead a narrow government until elections pre-scheduled for November 2019, Netanyahu called early elections in the spring in an effort to strengthen his mandate to continue leading the country while at the same time fighting corruption charges.

When Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and other major social media platforms first emerged, we welcomed them with open arms.  They were a lot of fun and they allowed us to interact with family, friends and society as a whole in ways that we had never been able to do before.  
But they were also extremely addictive, and they rapidly became transformed into dumping grounds for just about everything toxic, negative and malevolent that you can possibly imagine.  Today, many of us spend far more time on social media than we do with real people, and as you will see below, that has enormous implications for our future.

Hong Kong's Lesson For Beijing... And The West

Last week, the government of Hong Kong finally withdrew a proposed extradition law that sparked mass protests which have rocked the territory and rattled Beijing for weeks.
However, if Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam thought that withdrawing the extradition law would end the protests, she was mistaken. Over the weekend, demonstrators continued to rally, march, and wave the U.S. flag, while chanting "Resist Beijing, Liberate Hong Kong!" and--get this--"Pray for us, U.S., pray for us!"
Their chants highlight not only a Christian dimension in their protests, but the potential impact they believe Christianity can have on the Communist Party's dictatorial rule, both in Hong Kong and throughout China.
While the protests were initially sparked by the extradition law, it's clear that deep dissatisfaction with life under Beijing is keeping the flames burning, especially as the Communist Party attempts to strengthen its grip over Hong Kong.

Presbyterian Church Goes Full Nazi With New Boycott

At the Presbyterian Church's 223rd General Assembly in June 2018, commissioners passed an overture calling on Real Estate Maximums (REMAX), an American international real estate company, to end the sale and rental of homes and apartments in the all of Judea and Samaria.
Presbyterian Council Letter: Pure Racism
This initiative was finally acted upon when Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II, Stated Clerk of the Office of the General Assembly of the PC(USA), sent a letter to RE/MAX asking that the company stop operating in Judea, Samaria, and sections of eastern Jerusalem. The letter cited "reputational risks" the company would face should they continue to operate in these areas. 
The Jerusalemite Initiative, a nonprofit organization to empower Arabic speaking Israeli Jerusalemites Christians, wrote a letter Rev. Nelson, protesting the move, describing it as "a display of complete ignorance."
"I'm writing to you as an Arabic-speaking Israeli Christian from the Greek Orthodox Church. I was born and raised in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem and studied at Christian schools in Beit Jala and Bethlehem," Elias Zarina, the Christian Arab co-founder of the Jerusalemite Initiative, wrote. "As a non-Jewish Israeli, I can assure you that any call to boycott any company working in Israel affects and harms also Christians, Muslims and other minorities who live in Israel and are part of the economy, labor market and Israeli society.

I could easily get caught in the weeds because prophecy related details are developing at an unprecedented rate, but I want to keep this post as simple as I can. With that in mind, I've tried to share the most compelling broad strokes of last days Bible prophecy as I paint this picture.

If you're an Israeli mother, then as the school year began on Sunday the thought uppermost in your mind was likely: Will my children be safe in the coming days? Are the bomb shelters ready? Have the teachers been trained to respond to alerts?
At the back of every Israeli mother's mind is a strange phrase: "Color Red." Echoing from loudspeakers, radios, and TVs, this phrase warns residents of towns in the western Negev that they have 15 seconds to seek shelter from incoming rockets. Heard thousands of times in recent years, it has become etched into the Israeli subconscious.

For months now, the world has been transfixed by the stunning images streaming out of Hong Kong. 
There are photographs showing endless masses of people packing the streets, lit up by the omni-present cellphone screens glowing in the darkness, videos of masked young men pulling down facial recognition towers and flashing laser pointers at the police to foil this Orwellian technology, and footage of protestors slamming smoking tear gas canisters into thermoses of mud to neutralize them. 
The protests have now been going on without pause since March, and on June 9 as many as a million people marched through the streets--as much as one-seventh of Hong Kong's population.
To summarize the situation for those who haven't been following these events, Hong Kong is a former British colony that was handed over to the People's Republic of China in 1997 under a deal that would grant this "special administrative state" a "high degree of autonomy" until at least 2047. 
This policy was known as "one country, two systems," and Hong Kong maintained its own judicial, legislative, and executive powers that operate independently of China's pseudo-Communist system.

I'm a child of the 70's and it was definitely a different era. Video games were just entering the scene and we didn't have cell phones, so we had other activities to keep us busy. Most of them were outdoor activities, so we wouldn't break the house or drive our parents crazy, but there were a few indoor activities that were popular in my generation as well. Two that come to mind are: Connect the Dots, and Paint By Numbers.
I loved Connect the Dots because at first it just looked like a bunch of random dots on a page. But as we drew lines from each numbered dot to the next one, a picture would begin to emerge. What at first seemed like unconnected and completely random dots formed into a very clear picture right before our eyes.

Paint By Numbers, on the other hand, was less appealing to me. You could already make out the picture, and the only goal was to mind-numbingly paint all of the 1's blue, all of the 2's red, all of the 3's white. You get the picture (pun intended).

Violent ads for a movie about blue state elitists hunting red state Trump supporters for sport called "The Hunt", have been pulled in the aftermath of the mass shootings.  Studio executives say that they fear the tragedies will eclipse the ultra-dark and violent satire.
TV station ESPN has yanked the trailer without waiting for Universal to make up its mind, opting not to air the clip at all in the next few weeks, according to a source at the station. 
While one Universal insider claimed the studio was standing by producer Jason Blum, who has turned out successful films including the Purge series and Get Out, they characterized the situation as "fluid" and warned things could change "if people think we're being exploitative rather than opinionated."
While many worry about the ads for this movie causing more mass shootings, perhaps we should all be worried about those who created this movie and the thin and violent line we are walking on as a society. 
The film begins with 12 strangers who wake up in a clearing with no idea where they are or how they got there. They soon discover they are "prey" at an exclusive resort called The Manor, where the Liberal uber-wealthy come to hunt human beings--although Hilary Swank's high-end executive (who masterminded the whole thing) scoffs that they should hardly be considered "beings."

Does China believe that we are on the verge of a major global crisis?  
The communist Chinese government has always been very big into planning, and it appears that they have decided that now is the time to hoard food, gold and other commodities.  
Of course in recent days the fact that China is completely cutting off U.S. agricultural imports has made headlines all over the globe, but at the same time China is dramatically increasing the amount of food that it is importing from the rest of the world.  
The end result is actually a substantial surge in Chinese imports, and this is starting to show up in the official numbers.  For example, we just learned that Chinese soybean imports in July were actually up 8 percent compared to last year...
China's soybean imports in July rose 8% from a year earlier, to their highest level in almost a year, customs data showed on Thursday, as importers increased their purchases of Brazilian beans on higher crush margins.
As I discussed the other day, China had already been drastically reducing soybean imports from the United States even before this recent announcement that U.S. agricultural imports were being cut off completely.

As Egypt, the United Nations and other parties are pursuing their efforts to prevent an all-out military confrontation in the Gaza Strip, Hamas and its allies are forging ahead in their development of various types of weapons with which to attack Israel.
The Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad, the second largest armed group in the Gaza Strip after Hamas, recently revealed how it has managed to upgrade the rocket launchers that are being used to attack Israel.
According to the Islamic Jihad's military wing, Al-Quds Brigades, it began developing its rocket launchers in 2007, when Hamas violently seized control of the Gaza Strip after overthrowing the regime of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Twelve years seems like a good time to take stock. What are the achievements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip? They boast about three: improving military capabilities, smuggling weapons and investing millions of dollars in constructing terror tunnels. Iran's money goes to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad war machine -- nothing else. Not hospitals, not schools, and not jobs for unemployed Palestinians.
Take, for example, a report released this week by Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades, which presents the development of rocket launchers as one of the group's major achievements in the past 12 years. "The rocket launchers of the Al-Quds Brigades will remain one of the most important elements of the power we possess," the report boasts. "The rockets will continue to serve as a nightmare haunting the leaders of the [Israeli] enemy."

What are we supposed to think when rather large earthquakes start happening in places that aren't supposed to have large earthquakes?  2019 has been quite a year for seismic activity already, and I understand that we should expect to see earthquakes in diverse places, but if someone told me that the U.S. was just hit by a significant quake one of the last places that I would check would be Kansas.  

The state of Kansas is certainly known for a lot of things, but earthquakes are not one of them, and that is why what we just witnessed is so startling.  

According to the Kansas City Star, one county in central Kansas alone has been hit by 11 quakes within the past five days...

A county in central Kansas experienced a pretty shocking uptick in seismic activity last week -- 11 earthquakes in five days.
It started with a magnitude-2.4 earthquake Wednesday morning just 2 1/2 miles southwest of Hutchinson, Kansas, in Reno County, according to the United States Geological Survey.
There would be 10 more before the week was out.

Last week, following the high profile falling away from faith of Joshua Harris, former Hillsong singer and songwriter Marty Sampson posted this on Instagram: "Time for some real talk...I'm genuinely losing my faith...and it doesn't bother me."

The next day he deleted this post and clarified that he hasn't fully renounced Christianity, at least not yet. Still, he admitted, his faith was quite shaky. He then reiterated his doubts and said that "the majority of a typical Christian's life is not spent considering these things" because they fall into the "too hard basket."

Sampson's claims, I'm sad to say, are not uncommon among young evangelicals. And let me just say this as directly and bluntly as I can: they reveal a failure on the part of the church to take the difficult but essential task of faith formation seriously enough.
As I read through his description of what was happening, I thought to myself, "Which faith is he falling away from?" His words reveal a lot.

Taking the blame for actions undertaken by their governments is part of every ambassador's job. So it's hardly surprising that Ron Dermer, Israel's ambassador to the United States, and David Friedman, the American ambassador to Israel, are being made the scapegoats for the fiasco in which the Jewish state denied entry to two members of the U.S. Congress.

Yet reports that senior leaders of the Democratic Party are considering a formal motion of censure for Dermer and Friedman in the House of Representatives are troubling and not just because such a measure would be deeply unjust to the two men, as well as patently absurd. 

It's that influential Democrats, including some who have been firm supporters of Israel, are so intimidated by Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), and other left-wing members and sympathizers of the so-called "Squad," that they are willing to ignore the bad faith and anti-Semitism of these radicals.
The fact that House Democrats feel obliged to legitimize the efforts of the two BDS-supporting congresswomen rather than simply expressing dismay about the decision marks another step down the road towards a breach between their party and Israel.

It might sound frivolous to attempt to measure happiness. Still, for a Columbia University think tank and two respectable Canadian policy institutes, the measuring of happiness and the ranking of states by a happiness score is serious business.

Judging by the top and bottom countries on the list of 157 states for which scores were recorded, their findings seem plausible.

Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, and Canada boast the highest happiness scores. The list ranks countries by positive characteristics like GDP per capita, the Human Development Index (the aggregate of economic, educational, and life expectancy data), and human freedom and democracy.

The same countries also rank lowest in characteristics universally judged to be adverse to human quality of life, such as crime rate, traffic accidents measured by death and injury, and suicide rate. (The widespread belief that Scandinavian countries suffer from high suicide rates is far from accurate.)
Nor do the states with the lowest happiness scores generate much surprise. Haiti, Botswana, Yemen, Rwanda, Tanzania, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan are all known for their lack of democracy, rampant corruption, and very low levels of economic welfare. 

Most are also notable for their political instability, which -- in the case of Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan -- can be characterized as long-term, full-scale civil wars.

The Socialist Party of America was founded in 1901. It received support from trade unionists, progressive social reformers, populist farmers, and various immigrant groups. But it never did well at the polls, particularly in presidential elections. And its staunch opposition to American involvement in World War I resulted in a large number of defections.
The best showing ever for a Socialist ticket was in 1912, when their candidate, Eugene Debs, received 901,551 total votes, or 6% of the popular vote. In 1920 Debs ran again, this time from prison, and received 913,693 votes, 3.4% of the total.
Socialism rebounded in the 1930s during the Great Depression under the leadership of Norman Thomas, but President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal policies, which introduced America to Welfare-Statism, prevented Socialism from gathering much steam. Later, the party's opposition to American involvement in World War II cost it much of its support.
The party stopped running presidential candidates after 1956 when its nominee won fewer than 6,000 votes. The party decided, instead, to focus its efforts on educational programs. In the early 1970s the party splintered into three main groups, and the original party changed its name to Social Democrats, USA.

World Vision, a multi-billion dollar international charity founded on evangelical Christian principles, has made quite a few deals with the devil. A new terror-funding scandal seems to implicate the organization every few years.

Last month, documents obtained from the U.S. Treasury via the Freedom of Information Act revealed how World Vision used funds from the United Nations to bankroll the Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA), a designated terror finance charity based in Sudan that has raised millions for al-Qaeda in the past. 

This news comes after revelations that World Vision provided U.S. taxpayer dollars to the al-Qaeda-linked group. Moreover, World Vision allegedly sought to strong-arm Treasury into allowing the ISRA project to continue, soliciting congressmen to intervene and threatening litigation.

World Vision has a history of ignoring finance risks. In 2016, Mohammed El Halabi, head of World Vision's Gaza operations, confessed to redirecting $50 million to the terrorist group Hamas. In 2012, World Vision diverted $1.68 million of Australian government aid to a fake Palestinian charity established by the PFLP terror group.

World Vision maintains a strong New York presence, where supporters have largely turned a blind eye to the group's sinister activities. World Vision's partners include three of New York's biggest evangelical churches: Redeemer, Hillsong, and Times Square Church, along with local civil society and non-governmental groups, including Operation Exodus, Crossroads Tabernacle Church, Real Life Church, South Bronx United, Manhattan Bible Church, and Hope for New York.

End Which Occupation?

It seems that just about everyone wants to "end the occupation" in Israel.
The call rings out from the editorial pages of The New York Times and The Washington Post, from pro-Palestinian NGOs, from progressive Jewish organizations, and from presidential candidates. 
Ask someone at random what Israel should do to resolve the longstanding Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and perhaps the answer you're most likely to get is "end the occupation."
It sounds simple enough -- but which occupation are they talking about?
For most Westerners, the answer is obvious: the occupation of the West Bank (acquired by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War).
As it turns out, however, it's not that simple. Contrary to the Western view, for most Palestinians, the occupation is not limited to the West Bank, but consists of "historic Palestine," which includes the whole of Israel.
For many -- if not most -- Palestinians, the occupation began in 1948 when Israel was born, and only continued in 1967 when Israel took over the West Bank. Therefore, they won't be satisfied by anything less than the elimination of the State of Israel.
Don't just take my word for it. Listen to the Palestinians themselves.
In a speech on Palestinian TV in October 2013, Palestinian Authority (PA) leader Mahmoud Abbas stated: "All Palestinian land is occupied -- Gaza is occupied, the West Bank is occupied, the 1948 lands [i.e. Israel] are occupied, and Jerusalem is occupied."
A June 2019 survey of Palestinians conducted by the Palestine Center for Public Opinion confirms the Palestinian perception of the occupation. When asked about ending the conflict with Israel permanently, only 30 percent of West Bankers would approve of a two-state solution. The majority say "the conflict should not end, and resistance should continue until all of historic Palestine is liberated."

First, they praised the terrorist who murdered a US senator's niece. Then they were chosen by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) to organize her now-cancelled trip to Israel. 

Tlaib's outrageous choice of the pro-terrorist group Miftah to run her trip is a slap in the face of the United States Congress, and deserves to be investigated by the House Ethics Committee.

The fact that Rep. Tlaib chose Miftah to organize her trip is no secret; it was widely reported by major news media outlets. The problem is that nobody is explaining what "Miftah" really is. 
The New York Times, for example, reported only that Miftah is a group "that promotes 'global awareness and knowledge of Palestinian realities.'"
Ironically, one the "Palestinian realities" of which Miftah reminds us is that the Palestinian Authority (PA) regards Palestinian Arab murderers of American citizens as heroes.
The official Miftah website features an essay by one of the group's leaders, Ms. Johara Baker, profusely praising Dalal Mughrabi, the murderer of Gail Rubin, the niece of the late US Senator Abraham Ribicoff, Democrat of Connecticut.
Ms. Baker is not some minor figure at Miftah. At the time she wrote her article praising Mughrabi, she was identified as the group's "Director of the Media and Information Department." Elsewhere on the Miftah website, she is listed with other titles.

Training The Next Generation To Hate - Gaza Summer Camps For Kids
Videos have now emerged of children at summer camp with young boys going through military training, running obstacle courses and crawling under barbed wire with what appears to be live fire overhead.
Many parents of my age remember striving to be able to send their children to summer camp. Now, as grandparents, we see our own children doing the same. 
I believed then, as I do now, that summer camp is a time when children make new friendships--many of which last into their adult years--grow emotionally and learn what we call "people skills."
Somewhere in the boxes that accumulated over the years in our basement are videotapes of our five children at summer camp. We see our kids in various activities--playing baseball and basketball, jumping into the pool, holding the rabbits in the "nature shack," and, the mother of all activities, "color war."

Violent Anti-Conservative Movie "The Hunt" Release Cancelled... For Now

Last week, we reported that Universal Studios was releasing an inflammatory movie called "The Hunt," in which "liberal elites" hunted and brutally murdered so-called "MAGA types." 
After a massive public outcry, Universal today announced that they've canceled their plans to release the "satirical film" in September. 
This comes after the studio temporarily halted marketing following two politically motivated mass shootings in one weekend.
The statement from Universal
The official website for the movie has only the following statement.
While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film. We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.
Variety reports:
Insiders tell Variety that the studio came to the decision alongside "The Hunt" filmmakers. They also said it was a tough decision for the company, but studio leadership ultimately determined that the film could wait. 
Perhaps their decision had something to do with all the people who vowed to boycott the film - and even other films by Universal - after hearing about the outrageously divisive plot of the movie.

Was there a different course the Church in America could have taken to avoid the culture wars? A way to focus on the gospel and transcend controversial moral and political issues? Personally, I would much rather write about Torah than about Trump, about Christ than about culture, about the Holy Spirit than about homosexuality.
Is it possible that, as followers of Jesus, we could have bypassed today's divisive social issues and simply concentrated on the gospel? Or is this making a false dichotomy between gospel and culture?
Without a doubt, our voice should be loudest and clearest when it comes to preaching Jesus as Savior and Lord. Our witness should be strongest when it comes to doing good and demonstrating our faith by our works.
But does that mean that we cannot be good witnesses while standing for justice and righteousness and equity?
Show Me The Scripture Where We're Not Supposed to Be Helping Save Lives
Certainly, we must transcend partisan politics.
We cannot be pawns of a program or a party. We are God's servants, with ultimate allegiance to Him, and all other allegiances must be secondary to that.

Celebrities Lead Charge To Normalize Transgenderism For Young Children

Earlier this week, I took a brief look at how the mainstream media is teaming up with celebrities to normalize transgenderism and to make it appear as if things that we would all be stunned by a mere decade ago are not only acceptable, but downright laudable. 
One of those things, for example, would be parents raising small children as transgender, and embarking on treatments that will have a long-lasting (and probably devastating) effect on them. The media is carefully profiling these new family arrangements (as well as highlighting the fictitious presence of "pregnant men" and other absurdities that the trans activists are demanding that we accept.) 
Here's an example from The Sun:
Parents of two transgender children who were aged five and eight when they transitioned insist their kids are happier than ever. James, 11, and his little sister Olivia, 7, live with their supportive parents, Ben and Sara Kaplan, in Berkeley, California, US. The family say they are sharing their story with the hope of normalising the narrative surrounding trans children - in a country where only 0.3 percent of adults are transgender, according to a 2011 study.
That number, by the way, is spiking so fast that in Great Britain the government of the United Kingdom is launching an investigation into why. But notice here that these parents have decided to come to the media, have their family extensively photographed, and then explain modestly that they are doing this because they see themselves as culture warriors hoping to "normalize the narrative surrounding trans children." I'm sure that'll cost them some party invitations in Berkeley. More:

Riots erupted on the Temple Mount Sunday, as Muslims celebrating Eid al-Adha ("Festival of Sacrifice") attempted to prevent Jews from entering. Police ultimately pushed back against the protesters to allow a record-breaking number of Jews to visit the site.
Hundreds of Jews lined up to visit the Temple Mount on the morning of Tisha B'Av, the day on which Jews mourn the destruction of the Temples in Jerusalem as well as a series of calamities which befell the Jewish people throughout history on the same date.
However, local Islamic authorities on Friday had urged Muslims to converge on the site on Sunday in the hope of preventing Jews from praying there.
"This decision comes after the organizations of the alleged Temple requested the occupation government to allow Jews to break into Al-Aqsa during Eid," the Higher Islamic Commission, the Council for Wakf and Islamic Affairs and the Supreme Council of Fatwa said in a joint statement on Friday
Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Mohamed Hussein also announced Friday that the Eid prayers in Al-Aqsa would be delayed for an hour, to start at 7:30 a.m. instead of 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, with the aim of hindering Jewish access to the site.

Does China believe that we are on the verge of a major global crisis?  
The communist Chinese government has always been very big into planning, and it appears that they have decided that now is the time to hoard food, gold and other commodities.  
Of course in recent days the fact that China is completely cutting off U.S. agricultural imports has made headlines all over the globe, but at the same time China is dramatically increasing the amount of food that it is importing from the rest of the world.  
The end result is actually a substantial surge in Chinese imports, and this is starting to show up in the official numbers.  For example, we just learned that Chinese soybean imports in July were actually up 8 percent compared to last year...
China's soybean imports in July rose 8% from a year earlier, to their highest level in almost a year, customs data showed on Thursday, as importers increased their purchases of Brazilian beans on higher crush margins.
As I discussed the other day, China had already been drastically reducing soybean imports from the United States even before this recent announcement that U.S. agricultural imports were being cut off completely.  
So American farmers were definitely not benefiting from this Chinese import boom, and now that China has decided not to buy any of our crops it is going to be a "devastating blow" for our farmers...

As the culture wars heat up between the American Left and Right, progressive journalists are increasingly falling back on a powerful and succinct statement to push the public into a nostalgia for the Obama years: This isn't normal.
None of this, they write and tweet and blog endlessly, is "normal": Not the erratic presidential tweets, not the belligerent presidential tone, and not what they claim is Trump's "treasonous" behavior. I'm not unsympathetic to many of the arguments being made about civility, decorum, and the rest of the things that keep George Will up at night. But I do think that the media are engaging in a sophisticated game of gaslighting in the meantime.
What the media is doing while shrieking about our vanishing standards of normalcy is waging an all-out war on the idea of the male-female gender binary itself. While they are highlighting the abnormal nature of a president who tweets out spur-of-the-moment policy, they are pushing child drag queens and transgender children and pregnant "men" and "women" with penises as if these things were not an absolutely revolutionary attack on the social fabric of the West.

Yesterday, I told you about a district in northern India where, according to reports, not a single girl was born for three months. The main cause of the shocking gender imbalance we see around the world, and especially in India, is sex-selective abortion. 
In reaction, some of us may be tempted to think, "well, what do you expect from people who worship idols with blue skin and elephant heads?"
That would be exactly the wrong reaction. After all, Western countries have idols, too. Worshiping our idols also coincides with a lack of children, and not just baby girls.
Recently in The Atlantic, Derek Thompson points out that, despite a decade-long economic and cultural boom in our cities, America's urban rebirth is missing actual births. In fact, if current trends continue, the future of American cities is virtually childless.
Take New York City. Last year, for the first time in forty years, the Big Apple's population shrank during a non-recession year. Since at least 2011, the number of babies born in the five boroughs has declined by nine percent. 
In Manhattan, it's dropped 15 percent--again, despite a pronounced economic recovery. At this rate, says Thompson, the city's infant population will halve in thirty years.
Of course, part of this has to do with the rising cost of living in America's cities. Increasingly, the only people who can afford to move there are "rich, college-educated whites without children."

Ironically, it was an anti-Islamist, Kemalist Turkish general who first suggested that Turkey should align its foreign policy with the rising powers of Eurasia -- all of Europe plus Asia. 
It was just eight months before President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) first came to power, and since then, has remained undefeated. The U.S. at the time was busy with the final touches on the military operation that would oust Iraq's dictator, Saddam Hussein, in March 2003.
General Tuncay Kılınç, the powerful secretary general of Turkey's National Security Council, said that Turkey should seek an alternative alliance with Russia and Iran. In November 2002, Erdoğan's AKP came to power, pledging to pursue pro-EU, pro-West, liberal governance, and wrongly accusing Kemalist ideology of being an obstacle against liberal democracy -- an incredible political story, to judge it 17 years later. 
Few observers back then warned that Erdoğan's pro-West façade was fake and his deep adherence to political Islam, an enemy of the Western civilization, would one day urge him to seek non-Western alliances.
Ostensibly, the S-400 vs. F-35 conflict between NATO allies Turkey and the United States is a matter of East-West military disputes, reminiscent of several others the world observed during the cold war. It is not.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the fertility rate in the United States has never been lower than it is right now.  Unlike some of our other problems, this is not an immediate crisis because we definitely have plenty of people.  
The population of the U.S. is currently well over 300 million, and more immigrants keep pouring in with each passing day.  
So we are in no danger of running out of people, but the fact that Americans are choosing to have so few babies is yet another symptom of the social decay that is eating away at our nation like cancer.  
From a very early age, young Americans are being trained not to value marriage, parenthood and the traditional family unit.  
As a result, we are on an extremely self-destructive path, and there is no way that we are going to have a positive future as a country unless we change course.
The fertility rate in the U.S. has been in decline for many years, and just when you thought that it couldn't possibly go any lower, it did...

Based on the Terms of Service, people still own their own "user content" (read: their face). But, FaceApp also owns a never-ending and irrevocable royalty-free license to do anything they want with the photograph. That includes in front of whoever they wish.

Selling your face isn't likely to cause life-altering repercussions. However, as PhoneArena's Peter Kostadinov said, "You might end up on a billboard somewhere in Moscow, but your face will most likely end up training some AI facial-recognition algorithm."
FaceApp isn't the only company to collect user's data. Facebook has been doing the same for years. As a result, we now know that the data that is collected is rarely used for assumed purposes. 
Furthermore, that data is not always stored securely, which can make the average individual vulnerable to hackers and identity theft.

Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) say that they are going to Israel and "Palestine" in order "to learn" about the region. Israel has granted the women permission to enter the country, notwithstanding the overwhelming evidence that their trip has only one purpose: to strengthen the hand of people and organizations that share these women's desire to attack Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people.
But just because Israel has let them in doesn't mean its leaders have to sit passively by while Tlaib and Omar use the country as a backdrop for their personally designed advertisements for Hamas and Hezbollah; their accusations of apartheid, genocide, and all other things repugnant; and their program to eliminate Jewish self-determination.
On the contrary, as any fair-minded person knows, none of the things these women claim to believe about Israel is actually correct. So Israel has this one potent weapon on its side: the truth. Israel should use it with these two hate-filled politicians. Israel should invite these American officials to the places that make it absolutely clear that everything important they claim to believe about Israel and its enemies is wrong.
Here's a suggested itinerary:
The SodaStream factory. Moved from the disputed territories because of vicious BDS movement protests, where it employed more than 100 Arabs working alongside Jews -- at wages far in excess of what Arabs could earn in Jordan, Gaza, Egypt, or any Arab town in the territories themselves -- SodaStream insisted on continuing to employ as many of its Arab workers as possible in its new factory inside the Green Line. Efforts by those boycotting Israel had exactly one effect on these people: They helped to dis-employ dozens of Arabs who are not able to reach the new location.
The Hamas tunnels. Let Israel help Tlaib and Omar "learn" by seeing firsthand what Hamas has done with millions of dollars it poached from international aid sent to Gaza, which was instead spent constructing tunnels designed for use by Hamas "fighters" -- men trained not to confront enemy combatants, but to invade towns inside Israel proper and murder civilians in cold blood. While they're at it, they might want to visit the thousands of dunams of scorched Israeli farmland caused by the weekly "peaceful protests" along Gaza's border with Israel.

Why Hezbollah Truly Threatens Israel

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah recently issued a new threat to Israel's cities and sensitive sites, boasting of his terror organization's ability to hit targets deep inside the country.
The threats came in a televised speech, serving as a reminder of the ambitious arms race that the Shiite terror army is engaged in, with the massive assistance of its state sponsor Iran.
The Lebanese Hezbollah is the world's most heavily armed non-state actor, and its surface-to-surface firepower arsenal -- estimated at around 150,000 projectiles -- is larger than most state armies.
The IDF's main war preparations focus on the offensive and defensive operations needed to deal with this threat.
On July 12, Nasrallah told the Al-Manar television station, which is affiliated with his terror organization, that Hezbollah has improved its offensive capabilities. Displaying a map, he threatened strikes on strategic Israeli targets including Ben-Gurion International Airport, the Dimona nuclear facility, a power plant in Hadera, Ashdod sea port, and ammonia tanks in the city of Haifa. Hezbollah makes no distinction between civilian and military targets, and has made the goal of terrorizing Israeli civilians a top priority in future wars.
Nasrallah also threatened to hit the IDF headquarters in the heart of Tel Aviv, as well as a series of air force bases.
Hezbollah built up its arsenal by smuggling projectiles into 200 southern Lebanese villages, as well as launch sites in the Bekaa Valley in east Lebanon. Americans are losing trust in each other, in the government, and in the media, according to a concerning new survey.
Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that conducts public opinion polls and social science research and informs the public about issues, attitudes, and trends shaping the world. The organization recently published a new report called Trust and Distrust in America, which reveals that Americans think declining trust in the government and in each other is making it harder to solve important problems.
Confidence in the government and in each other is shrinking.
"Two-thirds of adults think other Americans have little or no confidence in the federal government. Majorities believe the public's confidence in the U.S. government and in each other is shrinking, and most believe a shortage of trust in government and in other citizens makes it harder to solve some of the nation's key problems," the report states.

As I write this article, I am awaiting the verdict of my appeal to YouTube after receiving the first strike in our channel's history. Yet, in my heart, I do not feel that I am being tested. I feel that YouTube is being tested.
Allow me to explain.
It's common to refer to the social media giants -- Google and YouTube and Facebook and Twitter and their associates -- as the "masters of the universe." (From another angle, we could add Amazon into this mix.)
They have incredible reach and power, and they can make you or break you at their whim. They can bring down (or promote) individuals or organizations. And, if Dr. Robert Epstein's congressional testimony is accurate, they have the potential to influence presidential elections.
That is power. That is influence. That is dominance.

Summer Camps For The Next Generation Of Terrorists

No one is born a terrorist or a jihadist fighter, it must be learned, and Hamas understands this all too well. Hamas recently announced the opening of its annual summer training camp for children that attracts an average of 100,000 children and teenagers each year. 
The month-long terrorist training camps, each of which runs for about a week, are funded and organized by Hamas, the Palestinian Authority and formerly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This year's theme will be the Great March of Return, according to promotional information published by Hamas.
The slogan for this year's summer camps is "I am returning to my homeland" and the central purpose is to indoctrinate Palestinian youths with the "concept of return" as well as provide them with the tools to continue their attacks on Israel into the next generation. 
Photos posted in promotional material on the camps' Facebook page show maps labeled with the pre-1948 names for cities now inside Israel. Children sit in rapt attention as they are taught that they have an ancestral right to return to Israel as a conquering force. 
Open to both girls and boys, each camp is an intensive week of indoctrination in religious jihadist ideology centered on the destruction of Israel and sessions of military training in guerilla warfare and urban combat tactics. In addition to previous years' lessons in using assault weapons, abducting civilians, setting IED's and attacking IDF positions to take hostages, this year the campers will take part in activities inspired by the Great March of Return.

In the West Bank, a number of factions, militias and armed terror organizations have been thinking for a while now about the day after the leadership of Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas comes to an end.
Competition over the question of who will fill in the power vacuum that will be left behind has ignited a power struggle, though it is one that has so far largely raged beneath the surface and away from the spotlight.
In addition to Hamas's plans to exploit the instability to strengthen its presence, elements within the rival Fatah camp could also find themselves in a face-off against one another.
"Leaders do not like to raise successors," Professor Boaz Ganor, founder and executive director of the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya, told JNS. "It apparently is seen as 'bad luck' that shortens the political life of the leader when a new leader grows in his shadow. 
This is the explanation for why Abbas has been and is making a large effort to prevent any Fatah senior Fatah operative from standing out and to be thought of as a 'natural successor' for the leadership."
Ganor recalled that Abbas's predecessor, Yasser Arafat, operated in a similar manner, appointing several deputies and preventing any of them from amassing too much power, even encouraging occasional rivalries between them.

The battle for our children's hearts and minds continues at public libraries across the nation as Drag Queen Story Hour expands and becomes even more alarming.
St. John's Library in Portland Oregon is one example where "Story Time" has evolved beyond reading pro-gay and pro-transgender books as little kids were permitted to frolic on the floor and lie on top of a man dressed as a woman.
Parents are so desperate to prove they are LGBT friendly that they would allow their children to crawl on top of a random stranger.  So, what is the next event these parents will be taking their children to in order to prove their pro-LGBT credentials?
How about a topless swim for ages 12-24, with gender inclusive changing rooms and all parents banned.
The event, called "Youth All-Bodies Swim", had been scheduled to take place this past Sunday in Langley, British Columbia. According to the event details, it gave an open invitation to all "youth" ages 12-24 stipulating only that "anything from the waist down" was required to be covered. 
Gender inclusive change rooms would be open to all. Parents and guardians, however, were informed they would not be allowed to stay.

US Returns To Key Military Base Used In Previous Middle East Wars

The U.S. military is following many of the exact same patterns that we witnessed during our previous wars in the Middle East, and that even includes setting up shop at a key military base deep in the heart of the Arabian peninsula.  After the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, the U.S. military abandoned Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, but now they are back.  
Hundreds of U.S. troops are already there working hard to get the base operational, and as you will see below, a tremendous amount of new construction is planned.  The base covers "well over a hundred square miles", and so it has more than enough room to serve as a central hub for a new Middle East war.  
Tensions with Iran have escalated dramatically over the past few weeks, but apparently somebody anticipated that the U.S. would need to use this base even before then, because according to NBC News U.S. troops were already arriving back in June...
In June the U.S. military began moving equipment and hundreds of troops back to a military base in Saudi Arabia that the U.S. deserted more than 15 years ago, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the deployment.
Over the coming weeks the deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base, intended to counter the threat from Iran, will grow to include fighter jets and Patriot long-range missile defense systems, the officials said. The Patriots have already arrived at the base and should be operational in mid-July, while the aircraft are expected to arrive in August.

Chinese Christians Need Refuge: Will We Welcome Them?

When the Communist Party took over mainland China in 1949, there were an estimated 5 million Christians. Three-plus decades of severe persecution under Mao nearly succeeded in eradicating Chinese Christianity.
Nearly. By 1976, less than four decades after Mao's rise to power, Christians in China numbered between 60-80 million. That's a low estimate. The actual number could be even higher.
As Evan Osnos of The New Yorker wrote a few years ago, "as I traveled around China, I stopped being surprised by my encounters with Christians."
Today, as we've discussed many times on BreakPoint, the Communist Party is cracking down on religious minorities, including Christians. Among the reasons is that Chinese leader Xi Jinping has embraced a Mao-like cult of personality.
The current crackdown includes raids and even bulldozing churches, arresting pastors, and discrimination in employment against people holding religious beliefs.
Given this increasingly hostile environment, it shouldn't surprise anyone that, as Fox News recently reported, many Chinese Christians are fleeing the country. Included in the report was the story of Liao Qiang, a member of the Early Rain Covenant Church, which was raided in December 2018. More than 100 of its members were taken into custody. 
After the raid, as she told the Associated Press, Liao's daughter had to "report her whereabouts to police using social media whenever she left her home." And she was informed that "her safety would not be guaranteed."
This caused Liao to conclude China was no longer a safe place for him or his family. So he fled with them to Taiwan, with hope they will be allowed to enter the U.S. as refugees.

A lot has been written about how the BDS movement is gaining traction as a mainstream and acceptable cause on American college campuses. In fact, the news is endless.
Here's a recent example: a professor at San Francisco State University is under scrutiny for using the department's official Facebook page to promote BDS, a movement that seeks the destruction of the world's only Jewish state.
But what needs to be examined in all this coverage is just how these organizations influence our brightest students, and encourage the unwitting and well-meaning to join their cause.
A little over a year ago, my family took in a homeless high school senior in the months before he departed for college. He was good friends with my son, and a good kid who kept his head up and stayed out of trouble -- in spite of suffering multiple childhood traumas.
In his short life, he endured his parents' divorce, his mother's death, alleged abuse and neglect at the hands of his father, and finally, being abandoned by his father at age 17. He is a resilient young man with a cheery, friendly, positive attitude. In high school, he maintained a stellar grade point average, and was a student leader in extracurricular activities.
He had a close circle of friends, many of them Jewish. Though raised in a Christian family, he took much interest in Jewish traditions and culture. He didn't mind moving into our kosher home, and even looked forward to Shabbat dinner, where we placed our hands on his head just as we do our own children to offer the weekly blessing.

In 1970, Hal Lindsey published The Late Great Planet Earth. The book sold millions of copies and introduced a generation to the miraculous fulfillment of end times bible prophecies in our day and time. 
Coming on the heels of World War II, the rebirth of Israel, the Six Day War, and widespread societal upheaval, many were convinced the rapture would take place before the end of the decade. But the 1970's came and went, and Jesus did not return. 
Then, in the 1980's and 1990's, numerous bible prophecy books with titles like "Countdown to Armageddon" and "Final Warning" sold all over the world. Again, many people were convinced Jesus would return before the end of the century. Yet Jesus didn't come. 
Then the world experienced Y2K, the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the phenomenal success of the Left Behind series. Once again, it seemed as though Jesus would return at any moment. But once again, he didn't. And then something happened. Complacency set it.

While the loudest voices in our culture continue to insist that men and women are interchangeable, science is offering more evidence than ever that the two sexes are anything but interchangeable. 
Nowhere is this uniqueness more apparent than in the distinct and very real transformations that both men and women undergo on becoming parents.
Of course, having children changes a woman--both body and mind--but it turns out men experience changes, too. They may not be as outwardly obvious as those in women, but they are dramatic and life-altering.
Writing at The New York Times, Oxford anthropologist Anna Machin cites a decade of findings on how men are designed to respond physically, emotionally, and neurologically to the arrival of a baby. And those changes, she observes, aren't the same as those seen in women.
For example, a five-year study of over 600 men in the Philippines found that those who became fathers experienced a significant drop in testosterone--the hormone associated with male aggression, strength, and sex drive.
While this may herald the arrival of the stereotypical "dad-bod"--which I may or may not know something about--it also marks a critical transition in a father's behavior. Lower testosterone makes way for a cast of new hormones that draw him toward his partner and infant, and encourage him to participate in "caregiving and baby-related household tasks..."

War Drums - Hezbollah Deploys Forces Along Israel's Northern Border

Hezbollah is reportedly deploying its forces on the Lebanon-Israel border, The Daily Beast reported over the weekend, linking the move by the Iranian-backed Shi'ite terrorist group to the rising tensions in the Persian Gulf.
According to the report, while the majority of the deployment has taken place on the Lebanon-Israel border, Hezbollah has also bolstered its forces in the Syrian Golan Heights.
A Hezbollah commander The Daily Beast identified only as "Samir" said the group was feeling the bite of the sanctions the United States has imposed on Iran, which he said have cut into Hezbollah's budget. The salaries of Hezbollah fighters have been cut in half, according to the report.
Hezbollah is "ready to initiate hostilities--if and when Tehran deems that necessary," said Samir. "The sanctions now have us preparing for dealing with the Israeli front. ... We will fire the first shot this time," he said.
He further boasted that Hezbollah has new drone capabilities and new anti-aircraft and anti-naval weapons acquired in Syria, alongside a more seasoned fighting force. He emphasized the importance of the Lebanese terrorist group's positions in the Syrian Golan, which he said give it the ability to open a second front against Israel
According to the report, Samir is in charge of 800 fighters on Lebanon's border with Israel.

Instead, the board game now comes with a voice-controlled, artificial intelligence device shaped like a top hat to help control the digital transactions.
Countries from around the world have been eager to implement a cashless society but none have moved as fast as Sweden.
Notes and coins now make up less than 1 percent of Sweden's economy which is ironic considering it was the first European country to issue modern banknotes, in 1661.
"No cash accepted" signs are now the norm in shops across Sweden as payments go digital and mobile but many Swedes want to take it to the next level as they blend tech with the human body.
Microchip implants that give people the ability to conduct financial transactions, monitor their health and even replace keycards to allow them to enter offices and buildings are the new rage as thousands have already been implanted.

Global Earthquakes 3 Times Above Normal - Dozens More Hit The Ring Of Fire

Within the last 48 hours we have seen large earthquakes going off like firecrackers all along the Ring of Fire.  As you will see below, a magnitude 6.1 quake just hit Japan, a magnitude 6.6 quake just hit Australia and a magnitude 7.3 earthquake just hit Indonesia.  
And of course all of this comes just about a week after southern California was hit by the two largest earthquakes that it has experienced in more than two decades.  
So is all of this shaking unusual?  
Just a few moments ago, I pulled up the most recent data from Earthquake Track, and what I discovered is more than just a little bit alarming.  Looking at the entire globe, we have averaged 193 earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater per day so far in 2019.  That is very high, but it pales in comparison to what we have witnessed over the last week.  
Within the last seven days, our planet has experienced an average of more than 677 earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater per day.  That means that the number of global earthquakes right now is more than 3 times above normal.
And the number of very large earthquakes is at a frighteningly high level as well.  According to the USGS, there have been 121 earthquakes of at least magnitude 4.5 around the world within the last seven days, and that includes the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that just hit Japan.

Persecution of Christians in the Middle East is now close to "genocide", a UK-commissioned report just revealed. The same threat has also become critical for Christian communities in Africa.
Some say it began in Algeria in the 1990s, when 19 monks, bishops, nuns and other Catholics were killed during the civil war. Since then, in Nigeria, Christian faithful have been massacred in their churches; in Kenya, Christians have been killed in universities; in Libya, Christians have been beheaded on beaches; in Yemen, nuns have been assassinated and in Egypt, massive anti-Christian violence is prompting an exodus. It is the new African archipelago of persecution.
Distressingly, these Christians have been finding themselves in the blind spot of the West: they are "too Christian" to get the Left's attention, but too far away for the Right. Africa's Christians are orphans. They have no "allies", John O'Sullivan writes.
Christian families recently fled the city of Diffa, in Niger, after Boko Haram delivered the message: "You have three days to go or you will be killed!". "There is no Christian anymore in this town", someone reported to the non-governmental organization, the Barnabas Fund.

Left-wing political activist Linda Sarsour angered many on Saturday when she tweeted that Jesus was a Palestinian.

'Jesus was Palestinian of Nazareth and is described in the Quran as being brown copper skinned with wooly hair.'
Sarsour, a Brooklyn-born Muslim of Palestinian immigrant parents, based her description of Jesus on the Koran, in which Jesus appears prominently. Her response was perplexing as Sarsour, whose parents, like Jesus, were born in Israel has very pale skin.
Many twitter responses pointed out the anachronistic nature of her statement, noting that there has never existed a political entity called Palestine and at the time Jesus lived, Bethlehem where he was born and Nazareth where he lived were parts of Israel. Others pointed out that both of Jesus' earthly parents were Jewish. Sarsour responded that Palestinian is a nationality (despite not having an actual country) and not a religion.
She added that "Jews lived with Palestinians in peaceful co-existence before there was a state of Israel." This statement is grossly inaccurate, ignoring Palestinian pogroms against Jews under the British mandate. It also ignores the roots of Palestinian under Haj Amin al-Husseini, an enthusiastic ally of the Nazis and supporter of the Holocaust.

The great enemy of the radical transgender movement is science. Biological realities can be stubborn, and no amount of human tampering can change those realities.
When it comes to compassion, we have plenty of that.
We want to see people freed from their internal pain. We want to see them find resolution for the emotional torment they're experiencing. We want our friends and co-workers and family members, especially our children, to be happy.
But no amount of compassion can change biological and chromosomal realities. That is why the transgender movement is starting to hit a wall. Science is against it.
Again, as I've stated many times, we're not talking about those who are intersex. That is, those who suffer from a biological or chromosomal abnormality. We're talking about biological and chromosomal males who believe they are females, or vice versa.
Far More Research Needed, Doctors Say
Now, physicians in England are speaking up.
As the Daily Mail reported on July 6, "The Royal College of General Practitioners [RCGP] has issued an unprecedented warning over NHS treatments for children which pave the way for a sex change."
Yes, "In a powerfully worded 'position statement', the highly influential RCGP says there is a lack of 'robust evidence' about the long-term effects of 'puberty blockers' that stop the body maturing, and cross-sex hormones.
"And it says there needs to be far more research into the pros and cons of treatment, including medical intervention being compared with a 'wait and see' approach."

Left-wing political activist Linda Sarsour angered many on Saturday when she tweeted that Jesus was a Palestinian.

'Jesus was Palestinian of Nazareth and is described in the Quran as being brown copper skinned with wooly hair.'
Sarsour, a Brooklyn-born Muslim of Palestinian immigrant parents, based her description of Jesus on the Koran, in which Jesus appears prominently. Her response was perplexing as Sarsour, whose parents, like Jesus, were born in Israel has very pale skin.
Many twitter responses pointed out the anachronistic nature of her statement, noting that there has never existed a political entity called Palestine and at the time Jesus lived, Bethlehem where he was born and Nazareth where he lived were parts of Israel. Others pointed out that both of Jesus' earthly parents were Jewish. Sarsour responded that Palestinian is a nationality (despite not having an actual country) and not a religion.
She added that "Jews lived with Palestinians in peaceful co-existence before there was a state of Israel." This statement is grossly inaccurate, ignoring Palestinian pogroms against Jews under the British mandate. It also ignores the roots of Palestinian under Haj Amin al-Husseini, an enthusiastic ally of the Nazis and supporter of the Holocaust.

As Hamas Loses Terror Tunnels, Faction Takes To Air & Sea

The discovery of the latest cross-border Hamas tunnel this week stretching from the Gaza Strip into Israel is a reminder of the fact that Hamas will soon lose this attack capability.
The tunnel was discovered during the construction of Israel's underground barrier, which is designed to block the path of Hamas's diggers. The subterranean wall uses sensors that send alerts to the Israel Defense Forces if Hamas attempts to dig in Israel's direction.
Since the end of the summer 2014 conflict between Israel and Hamas, the IDF has discovered 18 cross-border tunnels, using advanced detection systems, and more recently, through the construction of the underground wall.
The 40-mile-long barrier is due to be complete by the end of this year. When it will be done, armed terror squads from Gaza are expected to lose the ability to sneak under the Israeli border to conduct killing and kidnap missions in future wars.
Yet Hamas's military wing still has a complex network of defensive combat tunnels, which run under Gaza. This "underground city" enables terror cells to move around out of sight of the Israeli Air Force, and transfer personnel and weapons around the Strip, particularly in the event of an Israeli ground offensive.

Global Earthquakes 3 Times Above Normal - Dozens More Hit The Ring Of Fire

Within the last 48 hours we have seen large earthquakes going off like firecrackers all along the Ring of Fire.  As you will see below, a magnitude 6.1 quake just hit Japan, a magnitude 6.6 quake just hit Australia and a magnitude 7.3 earthquake just hit Indonesia.  
And of course all of this comes just about a week after southern California was hit by the two largest earthquakes that it has experienced in more than two decades.  
So is all of this shaking unusual?  
Just a few moments ago, I pulled up the most recent data from Earthquake Track, and what I discovered is more than just a little bit alarming.  Looking at the entire globe, we have averaged 193 earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater per day so far in 2019.  That is very high, but it pales in comparison to what we have witnessed over the last week.  
Within the last seven days, our planet has experienced an average of more than 677 earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater per day.  That means that the number of global earthquakes right now is more than 3 times above normal.
And the number of very large earthquakes is at a frighteningly high level as well.  According to the USGS, there have been 121 earthquakes of at least magnitude 4.5 around the world within the last seven days, and that includes the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that just hit Japan.

Persecution of Christians in the Middle East is now close to "genocide", a UK-commissioned report just revealed. The same threat has also become critical for Christian communities in Africa.
Some say it began in Algeria in the 1990s, when 19 monks, bishops, nuns and other Catholics were killed during the civil war. Since then, in Nigeria, Christian faithful have been massacred in their churches; in Kenya, Christians have been killed in universities; in Libya, Christians have been beheaded on beaches; in Yemen, nuns have been assassinated and in Egypt, massive anti-Christian violence is prompting an exodus. It is the new African archipelago of persecution.
Distressingly, these Christians have been finding themselves in the blind spot of the West: they are "too Christian" to get the Left's attention, but too far away for the Right. Africa's Christians are orphans. They have no "allies", John O'Sullivan writes.
Christian families recently fled the city of Diffa, in Niger, after Boko Haram delivered the message: "You have three days to go or you will be killed!". "There is no Christian anymore in this town", someone reported to the non-governmental organization, the Barnabas Fund.

Qatar's vision for America is now being peddled through our children's classrooms, targeting a pliable population and one with a long shelf life.
Beyond its media empires and bought-off D.C. influencers and think tanks, Qatar has set its sight on the next generation of Americans. 
In the last 10 years, Qatar has given over $30 million to public schools and over $1.4 billion to universities including: Georgetown, Texas A&M University, Arizona State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard University and dozens more.
Funding universities isn't just about charitable giving that trickles down to the benefit of academia. Although we might like to think that academia is more insulated from political pressure  than other sectors of American society, in fact, college campuses have become a breeding ground for irrational emotional outbursts that only tolerate the pre-scripted narrative of political correctness.
However, even that is a generous description. In truth, the problem began much earlier.

Dem Presidential Candidate Wants To Reverse US Embassy In Jerusalem

Former U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, who is running for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, said on Friday that, if elected, he would undo U.S. President Donald Trump's relocation of the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem--the first candidate running next year for the highest office to explicitly say so.
"We have to have a two-state solution, and I believe the administration made a mistake to move the embassy to Jerusalem," the former two-term Pennsylvania congressman told JNS. "That will be a major impediment, if not a permanent impediment, to try to get a two-state solution" to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he said.
"We need to move the embassy back out of Jerusalem, but with the understanding that, ultimately, I believe we need to have the capital be there," he continued. "But it needs to be worked out in a two-state solution and then our embassy needs to be there."
"I believe you should always engage."
Candidates who have said that, if elected, they wouldn't move the embassy back to Tel Aviv include South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg; spiritual guru and author Marianne Williamson; former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper; Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.); and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock.
However, said Sestak, "if an error has been made" in moving the embassy, "it should be corrected and then we should proceed forward of making sure that we can achieve a two-state solution."

Every few years attempts are made at removing "In God We Trust" from US currency but, as in other years, the Supreme court has rejected the most recent case attempting to prove the entanglement of state and religion with currency.
In a previous ruling, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the Establishment Clause of the Constitution doesn't force the government to purge itself from all religious reflection.
"Precluding general references to God would do exactly that," the federal appeals court ruled.
In Canada, the government has been more than willing to communicate politically correct progressive messages by means of what is being called the "Gay Loonie".
Canada's gold-colored $1 coin is affectionately called the "Loonie" from the Loon bird that adorns its cover design.  However, the Canadian mint has now released a commemorative Loonie to mark the 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of gay sex in Canada.
Perhaps recognizing the challenge of how to memorialize legal sodomy on a coin, the Mint opted to celebrate this milestone with a more coy "stylized rendering of two overlapping human faces . . . the two faces will form one whole face in front view composed of two eyes with eyebrows, a nose, a mouth and two ears with a small hoop earring on the left ear."  There are also rays emanating from the men that give the image a "holy aura". No doubt, we are to assume they are rainbow rays.

Anti-EU Sentiment May Not Be Able To Stop United States Of Europe Superstate

After weeks of frenzied backroom wrangling, European leaders on July 2 nominated four federalists to fill the top jobs of the European Union. 
The nominations -- which must be approved by the European Parliament -- send a clear signal that the pro-EU establishment has no intention of slowing its relentless march toward a European superstate, a "United States of Europe," despite a surge of anti-EU sentiment across the continent.
Following are brief profiles of the nominees for the top four positions in the next European Commission, which begins on November 1, 2019 for a period of five years.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission
German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, the daughter of a prominent EU official, has been nominated to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as the next president of the European Commission, the powerful bureaucratic arm of the European Union. 
Von der Leyen, of the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU),  has called for the creation of a European superstate. "My aim is the United States of Europe -- on the model of federal states such as Switzerland, Germany or the U.S.," she said in an interview with Der Spiegel. She has also called for the creation of a European Army.
At the same time, however, von der Leyen has been roundly criticized at home and abroad for her performance as German defense minister. During her tenure, Germany's military has deteriorated due to budget cuts and poor management, according to Parliamentary Armed Forces Commissioner Hans-Peter Bartels.

Irish Bill Would Punish 5 Years In Prison For Doing Business With Israel

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar and his governing Fine Gael party oppose a bill that would make it a crime for Irish citizens to import or sell anything produced by Israelis in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). 
Varadkar may wisely be pressuring politicians who voted in favor of the Control of Economic Activity (Occupied Territories) Bill to examine the possible negative consequences for Ireland's national interest if the bill becomes law.
The bill, introduced by Irish Senator Frances Black and crafted to impose a prison term of up to five years or a 250,000 euro fine on any Irish citizen who violates it, is now being studied by a joint committee of both houses of the Irish legislature. Varadkar's party is likely counting on arguments submitted by Irish organizations opposed to the bill to persuade some of its supporters to reconsider their initial vote. 
In addition, Perhaps Varadkar and Fine Gael will be able to persuade enough of the 14 abstaining senators in the Upper House -- where the vote in July 2018 was 25-20 in favor, and in late January 2019 in the Lower House (Dáil) 75-45 in favor -- to oppose it.
All of the major opposition parties -- the Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin and the Independents -- back enactment of the legislation. Recently, a group of Irish activists urged Ireland to boycott the 2019 Eurovision song contest, hosted by the Jewish state this year.
One leading supporter of the bill is Gerry Adams, the former head of Ireland's Sinn Féin, the political wing of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), which used terrorist tactics to try to force the British out of Northern Ireland.

Archaeologists Discover Ancient Biblical City Of Ziklag

The Israeli Antiquities Authority, Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Macquarie University of Sydney, Australia, have announced the discovery of what they believe is the biblical city of Ziklag, the Philistine city in which according to the Bible the young David took refuge from King Saul.
Ziklag is mentioned in the Bible multiple times in relationship to David, who the Bible states received sanctuary in the city along with his army, with the permission of Achish, King of Gat. 
The site is also believed to be the place from which David left to journey to Hebron, where he was anointed King of Israel and ruled for seven years before ascending to Jerusalem.
Later on, Ziklag is mentioned in the Book of Nehemiah as a center for Jews returning from the Babylonian exile.
Over the years of archaeological searches for the city, numerous alternative locations were proposed but none met all the required criteria. 
The excavations at the current site, called Khirbet a-Ra'i, began in 2015 and uncovered some 10,700 square feet in the Judean foothills between Kiryat Gat and Lachish, according to the press release put out by the IAA and the Hebrew University.

Researchers say the location is unique because it contains evidence of continuous settlement, including signs of a Philistine community and King David-era Jewish settlement, in keeping with the required criteria for Ziklag. 
Moreover, the site shows evidence of having been destroyed by a massive fire, which is how Jewish Ziklag was brought down at the hands of the Amalekites.
Findings at the site include massive stone structures with bowl- and oil-lamp offerings beneath the floors, consistent with Philistine civilization.
Nearly 100 pottery vessels for storing oil and wine, identical to those found in the fortified Judean city of Khirbet Qeiyafa, which has been identified as the biblical city of Sha'arayim, were also located amid evidence of the ancient fire at the site and carbon-dated to the time of King David.
