Have you noticed that large families are being greatly discouraged these days?  

Our movies, our television shows, our major news networks and even our textbooks encourage us to put off having children for as long as possible and to have very few kids if we do eventually decide to become parents.  Those that choose to rebel against the conditioning and have lots of children are looked down upon and are often ostracized.  

You see, the truth is that the global elite and their minions do not consider human life to be valuable.  Instead, they see us as a giant herd of carbon-emitting bio-machines that needs to be carefully managed.  

In their minds, the more people that there are on the planet the worse "climate change" will become.  And since they believe that "climate change" is the number one crisis facing humanity, they are quite interested in thinning the herd any way that they can.

So a lot of time and effort is being put into convincing women to prioritize "education" and "careers" over motherhood, and ultimately all of that propaganda has been quite successful.

In fact, fewer women in the United States are choosing to have children than ever before...

Just over half of women under 45 are having babies in the US, according to official data that lays bare the country's fertility drought.

From 2002 to 2019, the share of women aged 15-45 with at least one child dropped from 59.9 percent to 52.1 percent, a fall of an eighth.

The figure dropped from 46.7 percent to 39.7 percent among men in the same time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) national survey.

If you look at the numbers, childless women were an enormous factor in the last two national elections in the United States.

Survey after survey has shown that women without children are much more likely to embrace the social and political agendas of the global elite, and when it comes time to vote they tend to show up in very high numbers.

In addition, the CDC has also discovered that Americans are waiting longer than ever to begin families even if they do decide to have children...

Women are having their first child when they are 0.8 years older now than they were in 2002 - with the average age having moved from 22.9 to 23.7 years old.

Men have always had their first child at an older age than women, but they have experienced a similar increase in age when first becoming a parent - from 25.1 to 26.4 years old.

These days, so many women are waiting until their thirties or forties before they start having kids.

But that isn't normal.

Just before Christmas, a stunning video showing the arrest of one U.K. citizen who was silently praying near an abortion facility in Birmingham, England went viral on social media.

Isabel Vaughan-Spruce is a committed Christian, and for years she has made it a habit to pray for the protection of innocent human life in the womb as she walked past, or stood outside, abortion facilities. 

In November, police received a complaint about Vaughan-Spruce and arrived on the scene to question her. Though Vaughan-Spruce and the police officers involved were calm and respectful, the video of their conversation depicts a chilling violation of free speech and religious freedom.

A police officer asks Vaughan-Spruce, who is standing quietly on the sidewalk, "What are you here for today?"

Vaughan-Spruce: "Physically, I'm just standing here."

Police officer: "Okay. Why here of all places? I know you don't live nearby."

Vaughan-Spruce: "This is an abortion center."

Police officer: "Okay. That's why you're standing here?"

Vaughan-Spruce nodded.

Police officer: "Is you standing here part of a protest?"

Vaughan-Spruce: "No, I'm not protesting."

Police officer: "Are you praying?"

Vaughan-Spruce: "I might be praying in my head, but not out loud."

It is after this admission -- the admission that she was silently praying in her head -- that Vaughan-Spruce was asked to go to the police station for questioning. When she declined, she was arrested. 

The incident took place outside of BPAS Robert Clinic in Kings Norton, Birmingham, and Vaughan-Spruce was accused of violating a local "public space protection order" (PSPO). Free speech advocates have rightly labeled such PSPOs "censorship zones."

Birmingham's PSPO expressly prohibits various free speech activities within a certain restricted area around the abortion facility, including peaceful assembly and giving women information on alternatives to abortion. Among the activities prohibited are, "Protesting, namely engaging in any act of approval or disapproval or attempted act of approval or disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services, by any means. This includes but is not limited to graphic, verbal or written means, prayer or counselling ..."

This measure, like others implemented or being considered as legislation across the U.K., is a grotesque violation of basic rights that we expect to be protected in any Western country. Free speech on public sidewalks, including prayer, should have no geographical restrictions. The purported purpose of these measures is to prevent harassment for women seeking abortions. 

Of course, harassment is always wrong and should be illegal, but of course harassment already is illegal in the U.K. Make no mistake, the goal here is not to end harassment -- it is to marginalize (in this case literally) any speech or religious belief that might disapprove of abortion or offer hurting women an alternative to abortion.

Censorship zones around abortion facilities have been hotly debated across the U.K. in recent months. The threats to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of religion from censorship zones are already evident in Vaughan-Spruce's case.

ADF International, a religious freedom legal advocacy group, is representing Vaughan-Spruce. ADF's Lois McLatchie told Nigel Farage on GB News that, "whether this PSPO itself is lawful under international human rights law which protects freedom of religion, freedom of thought, conscience, and belief, and freedom of speech, is another really important question in this case." 

It is disturbing that the insistence of some U.K. politicians on making sure women do not see or hear the thoughts or prayers of pro-lifers and Christians is leading them to potentially violate international human rights law.

Pro-abortion activists have claimed that it is not Vaughan-Spruce's silent prayer that provoked her arrest, but rather her violation of the PSPO. Yet, merely standing in the PSPO area is allowed. It was specifically the act of prayer that was not allowed under the PSPO, and that resulted in Vaughan-Spruce's arrest. This is without question a religious freedom case.

At its core, religious freedom encompasses the ability to hold and live out your faith. That naturally includes praying in public -- especially when your public prayer is done in the privacy of your own head. Free countries must diligently avoid the business of punishing Orwellian thoughtcrimes. 

After her arrest, Vaughan-Spruce stated, "Nobody should be criminalized for thinking and for praying, in a public space in the U.K." Quite right.

Parishioners in the United Kingdom were shocked and appalled in November to hear a University of Cambridge student pontificate during his chapel message that Jesus Christ is transgender. 

Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, was quick to rebuke the absurdity of the claim in a Facebook post, calling the sermon "blasphemous." 

"This is repulsive and shameful," Franklin wrote. "To insinuate that Jesus Christ, the Holy Son of God, is transgender or to sexualize in any way His sacrificial death on the Cross for the sins of mankind is utter heresy."

While chapel speakers on secular university campuses have hardly been known for faithfully espousing God's Word, what's more alarming is an increasing unfaithfulness to the Scriptures by pastors of Christian congregations across the United States.

A 2022 survey of 1,000 Christian pastors across seven major groupings of denominations revealed that only 37% of clergy have a Biblical worldview. Most surprising was the percentage of pastors in evangelical denominations who don't uphold Biblical beliefs. Meanwhile, pastors of nondenominational and independent Protestant churches scored the highest for upholding Biblical beliefs.

"The American Worldview Inventory 2022," conducted by George Barna, director of research with the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University and senior fellow at the Center for Biblical Worldview with the Family Research Council (FRC), analyzed 51 beliefs and behaviors, including salvation through Jesus Christ alone, absolute moral and Biblical truth, human purpose, sanctity of human life as well as other Biblical doctrines.

DEFINING A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

Among evangelical pastors surveyed, 30% said they don't believe that their salvation is based exclusively on confessing their sins through repentance and accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Similarly, 39% of evangelical pastors reject that there is absolute moral truth and instead contend that each individual must determine their own truth. And only 62% agree that human life is sacred, while 37% said that having a faith matters more than which faith you have. 

Defining a Biblical worldview as "a way of experiencing, interpreting and responding to reality consistent with Biblical perspectives," Barna said that only about one in three pastors surveyed interpret the world through the lens of Scripture.

"Only 37% of all pastors of Christian churches in America today have a Biblical worldview," Barna explained during FRC's Pray, Vote, Stand Summit in September. "That's barely one of every three who buy into God's Word to such an extent that their life is driven by Biblical truth. It's appalling. Think about that for a moment. What does evangelical even mean if the pastor doesn't buy into the Scriptures and teach those things to his people?"

Barna said 51% of adults surveyed claim to live according to a Biblical worldview. However, when their beliefs and behaviors are measured by what he calls the "seven cornerstones of a Biblical worldview" only 6% of American adults actually have a Biblical worldview.

Barna's seven cornerstones of a Biblical worldview are:

- God is the eternal, omniscient, omnipotent and just Creator.
- Humans are sinful by nature.
- Jesus Christ grants forgiveness of sin and eternal life when sinners repent and profess their faith in Him alone.
- The Bible is true, reliable and always relevant.
- Absolute moral truth exits.
- Success is defined as consistent obedience to God.
- Life's purpose is to know, love and serve God with all one's heart, mind, strength and soul.

Franklin Graham asserts that an individual with a Biblical worldview looks at the world and sifts all information through the lens of God's Word. "Scripture informs his thinking and behavior, guiding his intellect and moral determinations," he said. "The Bible is the bedrock that undergirds his entire life. 

Over and against every competing worldview, the Bible forcefully declares, 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind' (Romans 12:2). In other words, the only way to see all of life accurately is through the transforming lens of Scripture."

SECULARISM IN THE CHURCH

Yet the prevailing worldview for 88% of Americans, Barna said, is syncretism, defined as a personalized or customized worldview dictated by an individual's preferences, desires and subjective truth claims. "Worldview is important because you do what you believe," he said. "So, if you believe God's truths, you can act upon those truths."

"Because pastors teach what they believe, many churches are becoming centers of syncretism and secular thought," Barna continued. "Perhaps without even realizing it, thousands of pastors have become leaders of a movement away from God, toward narcissism."

FRC President Tony Perkins contends that the survey's findings reveal that secular culture is influencing Christians more than Christians are influencing the culture, and the problem lies in the pulpit. 

"There are many pastors today who are very tentative and hesitant to preach the full counsel of God's Word," he said during the FRC summit. "As a result, we have Christians who are hesitant to live out their faith. We need pastors who understand the Bible and its application to the world in which we live."

"People need the truth of the Word of God that has the power of God to change hearts and lives for eternity," Franklin wrote on Facebook.

"The Bible warns us to beware, 'there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction'" (2 Peter 2:1).

Praying Without Pushback: How Damar Hamlin Showed Americans Will Still Pray

Around the nation, in response to the life-threatening injury to Buffalo Bills football player Damar Hamlin, people prayed. Hamlin's teammates and coaches prayed. Millions of fans joined in prayer, tweeting their support. Even on live TV, sports commentators stopped in the middle of their broadcast to pray.

But this is only natural. During times of crisis, especially life and death crisis, people turn to God.

We know the situation is grave, we know we cannot change things ourselves, and we know that only God -- an all-powerful being who cares -- can turn the tide.

That's why, at such times, people do not turn to atheism. They turn to God.

Praying Without Pushback

Even non-religious people pray. In fact, many agnostics and soft atheists even turn to prayer.

Interestingly, rather than people being up in arms over all these public displays of prayer and religious faith, many have expressed appreciation for these prayerful sentiments.

That's why NFL vet and now TV host Dan Orlovsky was praised for praying on TV rather than lambasted for his act of faith.

To quote him directly (before he bowed his head and closed his eyes and prayed out loud, "Football gave me everything," he said, "And I think in the midst of absolute tragedy last night, we saw some of the beauty of football as well -- that it's brought us all here together. This is a little bit different -- I've heard it all day, like 'Thoughts and prayers.' 

And you just heard Brandon Scherff and Jonathan Allen say that 'all we can do is pray for him,' and I heard the Buffalo Bills organization say that 'we believe in prayer.' And maybe this is not the right to do, but it's on my heart that I want to pray for Damar Hamlin right now. I'm going to do it out loud, I'm going to close my eyes, I'm going to bow my head, and I'm going to pray for him."

And that's exactly what he did, praying with honesty, praying without shame, and praying with explicit trust in God.

What did his co-hosts Laura Rutledge and Marcus Spears do? Did they express their surprise or even displeasure? Did they show their discomfort with his bold act?

Not at all. They also bowed their heads and closed their eyes, adding their respectful amens.

What about his other colleagues in sports and in the media? How did they respond?

It would be expected that faith leaders would commend Orlovsky for praying. And that's exactly what happened.

As expressed by Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, "It is interesting to me as a person of faith that we tend to go to that core place, [at moments of tragedy], that we start talking to God and talking about talking to God."

He added, "I just find that rather refreshing in an affluent culture that has so much that we tend to ignore God that something like this happens and it reminds us of our own mortality and we begin to talk about praying and talking about God... It speaks to the yearning deep inside of us."

People Pray and Prayer Is Welcomed

But to ask again, what about Orlovsky's sports and media colleagues? Were they also happy with him praying on live sports TV?

Yes, many of them were positive on this as well. As one headline announced, "Dan Orlovsky Praised After 'Beautiful' Prayer for Damar Hamlin Live on Air."

Among those quoted in the article were ESPN presenter Ashley Brewer and Super Bowl champion Ryan Clark.

In Brewer's words, "This is amazing, I teared up watching this in my living room today. Proud to call you my teammate & brother in Christ."

This is what happens when, as a nation, we are drawn into a life and death crisis.

This is what happens when, suddenly and unexpectedly, in front of our eyes on TV, the health and well-being of a relative stranger now becomes our personal concern.

This is what happens when we realize that we need help outside of ourselves.

People pray, and prayer is welcomed rather than ridiculed.

We Always Need God

The reality is that we always need God. It's just that, when all is well, we often forget about Him, putting our trust in ourselves and leaving Him out of our thoughts entirely. Many of us even become hostile to faith, doing our best to keep it excluded from public life. And then a crisis wakes us up as we recognize our own frailty and remember that death could be near at any time.

May we not forget these realities as life gets back to normal and, we hope and pray, Damar Hamlin makes a full and even miraculous recovery.

And may those who ignore or even scorn the idea of God think again. Eternity is always just one step away. Then what?

If the Bible is true -- which I am 100 percent sure it is, personally -- one day we will actually give account of our lives to God.

That is a sobering thought.

Let's say that in the next couple of decades our country undergoes dramatic and positive change. There is nationwide repentance and a renewed commitment to Christ among His people. Human dignity becomes more than a slogan. The unborn are welcomed into life, racial and ethnic injustice is curtailed, marriage is recognized for what God intended it to be, and religious liberty is acknowledged as the cornerstone of all freedoms.

Government contracts and freedom expands. Families grow strong and healthy. Economic opportunity and sound fiscal policy join to create widening prosperity. We remedy the drug crisis and criminal violence becomes the extreme exception to a socially peaceful norm.

Add to these things other cherished hopes for our country. Imagine the America that, as a follower of Jesus and patriotic citizen, you believe it should be.

Now, ask yourself this: Will such a place ever exist? And, if it does, will sin vanish? Will human nature, fallen and, as the prophet Jeremiah described it, "desperately sick" (Jeremiah 17:9), become sweet and full of light? And will the vision of America we have just considered be permanent?

This thought-experiment is not intended to deflate hopes for a better nation. We should work and pray to advance those things that reflect God's desire for America and the world.

Yet we are mistaken if we think there will ever be a final resolution to the problems we face or that the contentions of our time will one day be only a distant memory.

Human evil is to life in this world what water is to a sponge. It permeates all facets of our beings individually and existence corporately. This does not mean that everything is sordid and wicked. There is much, much good to celebrate in many arenas of life. 

Christians have eternal redemption in God's Son. Our Creator has blessed us with a beautiful, rich, and colorful world that sustains us. Advances in technology, medicine, and communication are stunning. The good news of Jesus is winning people to Him in the farthest-flung places on the globe.

And as followers of the Savior, we have a deep obligation to stand for those things He most values -- the sacredness of human life and the justice and liberty that are each person's God-ordained due. This means ongoing, persistent engagement with all spheres of public life.

Rather, we cannot forget that sin is both distortive and enduring. It promises and seduces, lying the whole time and turning good gifts into broken ones. For example, sexual intimacy is a great gift. In the context of the covenantal union of one man and one woman, it enables two to become one and provides new generations of God's image-bearers. Yet from abortion to pornography to sexual abuse and more, what God planned for good man uses for selfishness and harm.

On a national scale, America's great promise can and should be better realized, but perfection this side of heaven will never be our lot. Moreover, a culturally friendly Christianity should never be equated with godliness. 

Even if the United States were to embrace expressions of orthodox faith and if our cultural institutions -- the media, the entertainment industry, public education, the business world, etc. -- jettisoned their current allegiance to moral relativism and radical sexual autonomy, sin would remain observant and eager, ready to pounce in ways small and large. As the Lord warned Cain before the first murder, "sin is crouching at the door; its desire is contrary to you" (Genesis 4:7).

Our goal is not an America that will never be. Nor can it be only a society where we feel at ease and unthreatened, luxuriating in the friendliness of our cultural surroundings. Such a place is inherently deceptive. It urges us to forget the crouching presence of sin and softens the sense of urgency compelled by the gospel.

So, we press on, relishing such victories as the end of Roe v. Wade even as we now turn to battles for life in the states, always remembering with the writer of the Book of Hebrews that "here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come" (13:14). For the sake of that city and its King, let's move into 2023 with humble confidence in His eternal victory and a keen sense of our temporal duty to be His instruments.

Voices Of The Persecuted Church: The Chinese Underground Church

Have you ever wondered what it would be like living in a society that blamed you for their problems? What if being a Christian cost something -- like your popularity, your job, your rights, your family, or your life? This is the stark reality of many Christians overseas, particularly in China, and this type of persecution is foreign to U.S. Christians.

In America, Christians attend worship services without any thought of facing judgment, slander, or persecution. While there is evidence that American society and legislation is becoming more hostile to Christianity, believers by and large do not face anywhere near the same level of threats or persecution that their Christian brothers and sisters see every day in many eastern countries.

Ironically (or perhaps consequently), a nation with arguably the most freedom and prosperity in the world is seeing a steady decline in Christianity. Pew Research reported that 65% of American adults identified as Christian in 2019 (a decrease of 12 percentage points since 2009), and 76% of Baby Boomers identify as Christian while only 49% of Millennials identify as Christian.

Secularization has overtaken much of Europe as well. In Western Europe, where many identify as Christian because of historical religious tradition, most Western Europeans are non-practicing and reject the God described by the Bible. In 1910, 66% of the world's Christians lived in Europe, but in 2010 Europe made up only 26% of all Christians.

Back to Jerusalem

While Christianity is declining in the West, it continues to grow in the East. The percentage of Christians living in Africa and Asia grew from 6% in 1910 to 37% in 2010 and is projected to reach 50% by 2050.

In China today, some experts believe there are 130 to 150 million Christians growing at a rate of 30,000 new believers a day according to Dr. Eugene Bach, co-author of "The Underground Church."

Bach has been a Chinese missionary since 2000 and is part of an organization called Back to Jerusalem (BTJ), a Chinese-based Christian mission organization dedicated to evangelizing the nations between China and Israel. BTJ trains and sends Chinese missionaries to evangelize the primarily Hindu, Buddhist, or Muslim nations in the "10/40 window" where 90% of unreached people groups in the world are located. The BTJ vision began in the 1920s, but the first team of missionaries from China wasn't sent until 2000. Since then, China has sent thousands of missionaries to many countries in the in 10/40 window.

BTJ recently hosted its first Voices of the Persecuted Church conference and invited several missionaries from some of the most heavily persecuted nations in the world: North Korea, Iran, Sudan, and China. According to the Open Doors World Watch List, these countries rank #2, #9, #13, and #17, respectively. These missionaries shared their stories of God's grace through tremendous trials, and they revealed how God is using the faithfulness of the persecuted church to expand the kingdom.

I attended this conference in October 2022 and will share the stories of the speakers in a three-part series. Part one of this series will unveil the circumstances of Christians in China and will focus on the stories of two missionaries from China; part two will focus on North Korea and the story of one missionary who has spent her life serving the citizens of North Korea within the country and refugees fleeing the country; and part three will discuss what churches face in Islamic countries in the Middle East and Africa and will focus on the stories of two Christian women from Sudan and Iran.

A Brief History -- Christianity in China

Christianity has faced many challenges in China since Mao Zedong came to power in 1949. Most Christians in China meet illegally in the Chinese House Church, a vast network of underground churches. Before the rise of the Chinese House Church movement, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) formed a state-recognized church, the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM). Like many tyrannical regimes, the CCP portrayed TSPM as an opportunity to foster patriotism, fight imperialism, and promote freedom of religion. 

Many Christians optimistically bought into this message, and some of the key tenets of communism appeared to align with Christian values -- fostering community, helping the poor, and fighting greed. However, after cutting through the propaganda and examining some of TSPM's requirements, the true colors of communism bleed through the mirage of rhetoric.

In TSPM, "Christian believers must strictly abide by all the laws, regulations, and policies of the Communist Party and the State and strive to be patriotic and law-abiding citizens." To be "patriotic and law-abiding citizens," Christians "must comply with the government's labor codes and strive to contribute to the development of the 'Four Modernizations' established by the Communist Party. 

When scheduled religious activities are in conflict with production and work schedules, the economic activities must take priority" (emphasis added). Additionally, "no unauthorized meeting points are allowed," and Christians cannot "persuade and force others to believe in Christianity," "brainwash teenagers under 18 with religious beliefs," or "bring children under 18 to religious activities."

The prohibition on evangelism continues. Christians cannot "preach their religion outside the church building and specific places which have been designated for religious activities," nor can they "receive self-proclaimed evangelists into their homes, churches or meeting points." There are also additional codes -- which are typically not written but still enforced by the government -- that prohibit baptisms, formal or informal Bible studies, praying for healing, and teachings about the virgin birth, the resurrection of Christ, and the second coming of Christ.

The CCP hunts down Christians who fail to comply with these regulations and gives them two choices: deny Christ by swearing allegiance to the CCP, or refuse to recant and face torture, imprisonment, or execution. For those who choose the former, the CCP rewards them with leadership positions in TSPM and goads them to spy on Christians in the underground churches to reveal key details about their leaders, meetings, and members. This has created deep animosity and distrust between the Chinese House Church and TSPM.

"Do Not Be Afraid; Jesus Loves You" -- Brother Yun

One of the speakers at the conference, Brother Yun, author of the 2002 autobiography "The Heavenly Man," shared his story of overcoming the brutality of the CCP. Yun was born in China's Henan Province in the late 1950s and grew up during Mao's Great Leap Forward, a time of famine, starvation, and intense religious persecution. After God miraculously healed his father of cancer, he surrendered his life to God and hungered to know more about Jesus.

At the time, Bibles were nearly impossible to find in China. Mao's Little Red Book became the new religious text, and anyone who possessed a Bible would face severe punishment from the government. After listening to the advice of a pastor, Yun prayed and fasted for months, pleading with God to bring him a Bible. After 100 days, Yun received a vision of two men pulling a Bible out of a bag of fresh bread and giving him this precious gift, and that same day the same two men came to his home and gifted him a Bible.

Now armed with the Word of God, Yun began memorizing a chapter from the New Testament every day, and eventually he received another vision to preach the gospel to the south and west of his village. This was the beginning of his heavenly call to evangelize the nations. He has faced tremendous suffering and persecution for his commitment to the Great Commission, and he has numerous stories of God's miraculous provision in his life.

Like many of the speakers from the conference, Yun emphasized the simple yet profound truth -- knowing that God loves you with a perfect, everlasting love which casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and this love enabled Yun to conquer some of the most painful and terrifying situations -- imprisonment, torture, separation from family, weeks without food, and intense hatred and ridicule.

He also shared what it means to be called by God. "If there's a calling on your life, you cannot easily die," Yun said. Toward the beginning of Yun's ministry, his mother prophesied that he would not be a martyr for Christ but rather a living sacrifice, and this has proven quite true after nearly 50 years of ministry.

Yun emphasized that living for the Lord is far more important than dying for him. While all Christians must be ready to die for the sake of Christ and the gospel, Christ's call to die daily to ourselves is far more challenging. "To die is very easy," said Brother Yun. "To deny Christ is very easy. But to live for Christ day by day until the last day is very difficult."

"Here I Am! Send Me" -- Pastor Isaac Liu

Brother Yun's son, Pastor Isaac Liu, author of "Son of the Underground," shared his story at the conference as well. When Yun was in prison, he and his wife prayed for a God-fearing son. When Liu's mother became pregnant, the Chinese government ordered her to have an abortion because of her husband's status as an enemy of the state. Just days before her scheduled abortion, she gave birth to a premature baby weighing less than three pounds.

Liu grew up in his father's poor rural village, and he saw his father for the first time when he was four years old. His father charged him to follow Christ faithfully, and Liu was baptized at seven years old. He began is walk with Christ with baptism in a frozen lake late at night in the middle of winter. The church often held baptisms this way to hide illegal religious activity from the Chinese government.

At age eight, he began memorizing one chapter of the Bible each day just like his father, and at age 11, he received a vision from God and began sharing the gospel to the surrounding villages. At age 18, he moved to Germany to start the All Nations Church where he currently serves as a pastor.

As the son of a missionary, Isaac had a direct calling on his life. He grew up with the expectation of serving God, and he didn't always welcome that calling. After turning 13, he prayed not to become a preacher because of the many hardships he faced due to his family's commitment to Christ. His father and mother were imprisoned many times, he went to 11 different schools in 10 years to flee persecution, and he grew up in poverty and isolation -- all because of his parents' calling to serve God. He grew bitter toward God and began to doubt God's goodness and power.

However, he held to the word of God as a teenager, and eventually God won the battle in Liu's heart. He compared himself to Jonah and how God used an unwilling prophet and a terrible sermon to turn the hearts of many to repentance and faith. Liu shared that like Jeremiah, we may have many excuses for why we're inadequate to serve the Lord, but the Lord is simply looking for faithful servants who will simply trust in his power and obey his commands.

"We have millions of excuses," said Liu, "but we must just obey and trust the Lord."

"Wine That Is Pleasing to the Winemaker" -- Eugene Bach

Bach also spoke at the conference and compared the Chinese persecuted church to a Napa Valley vineyard. Bach explained that to make the best tasting wine, the winemaker must restrict the vine's access to water, forcing its roots to grow deep into the soil to obtain more water and nutrients. "Lazy grapes," the large, plump, bland grapes sold at grocery stores, grow on vines that have been overwatered, and while these grapes look the most appealing, they lack flavor and nutrients.

In contrast, the grapes on the struggling vine appear shriveled, but these grapes contain the most flavor and create the best tasting wine. As struggling and deprivation create a flavor of grapes that is most pleasing to the winemaker, the struggling and deprivation of the church creates a flavor of faithfulness, godliness, and obedience that is most pleasing to the Winemaker.

As many of the speakers emphasized, suffering is a gift from God. It is the purifying furnace that purges the dross from the precious gold (1 Peter 1:3-9). It is the pruning of the vine that yields a more bountiful harvest (John 15:1-11), and it is an instrument that molds us into the humble, gentle, and compassionate image of Christ (Philippians 3:7-11). Suffering is a painful and undesirable reality of this world, but perhaps it is the bitter medicine for a Western church diagnosed with a lethal case of secularism.

Three Years In Prison For Saying Men Cannot Get Pregnant?

I wonder how long Europeans will put up with the nakedly totalitarian aims of the transgender movement and the control it increasingly exercises over their ability to speak freely.
Vassilis Tsiartas, widely considered to be one of the greatest Greek soccer stars of all time, was convicted last fall of "transphobic" social media posts objecting to the genital mutilation of children and given a 10-month suspended prison sentence and a 5,000 euro fine due to his "public incitement" of "violence or hatred for reasons of gender identity." It is the first such conviction in Greece.

Kellie-Jay Keen, a mother of four and feminist dissident better known as "Posey Parker," was threatened with arrest in the United Kingdom by the Sussex Police after speaking out against transgender ideology -- the police informed her that she was under investigation for a hate crime because of "words or behavior to stir up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation."

Also in the United Kingdom, a British veteran was arrested during the summer ... over a social media post condemning the transgender movement. "Someone has been caused anxiety based on your social media post. And that is why you're being arrested," police told him as they put him in handcuffs.

And now -- you cannot make this up -- a lesbian filmmaker and actress is under investigation in Norway on criminal hate speech charges because she stated that a man cannot be a lesbian. Tonje Gjevjon was told by authorities on November 17 that her comments about trans activist Christine Jentoft on Facebook -- a biological male identifying as a female -- were the reason she was being investigated. 

Jentoft claims to be a lesbian mother, with Gjevjon responding, "It's just as impossible for men to become a lesbian as it is for men to become pregnant. Men are men regardless of their sexual fetishes."

Similar to cases in Greece and elsewhere, Gjevjon's comments run afoul to a criminal code amendment passed in 2020 that added "gender identity and gender expression" as protected categories under Norway's hate speech laws. Indeed, another woman -- Christina Ellingsen -- has already been accused by Jentoft under these same laws and, if found guilty of "transphobia," could face three years in prison. 

Those found guilty of private remarks under these laws can be fined or jailed for a year; three years is the sentence for public comments.

Gjevjon is defiant, stating that she posted her statement on Facebook to expose the insanity of Norway's hate speech laws, having previously called them discriminatory. "Will the equality minister take action to ensure that lesbian women's human rights are safeguarded, by making it clear that there are no lesbians with penises, that males cannot be lesbians regardless of their gender identity, and by tidying up the mess of harmful gender polices left behind by the previous government?" she asked.

The answer, of course, is no. The late-stage sexual revolution has rejected the very categories that feminists and gay and lesbian activists fought for over decades -- if gender ideology is true, after all, then both sex-based rights and same-sex attraction are simply defunct concepts. Not only is "lesbian" a meaningless category if gender fluidity is true -- so is "woman" and "man." 

The revolution doesn't respect its elders, either. It doesn't matter if someone fought on the front lines of cultural change for years--if they are unwilling to say that men can get pregnant, then it is their turn to be condemned.

This will continue until Europeans collectively decide they've had enough of being bullied. Harry Miller, a docker from Liverpool who was radicalized overnight when the police visited him over "transphobic" tweets, is one example of how to fight back -- and how ordinary people are sick of being beaten down by the agents of transgender tolerance. 

And there are signs that the trans movement's grip may be weakening. But until it breaks, expect to see more people arrested simply for saying obvious things -- such as the fact that the Emperor has no clothes, and we can all see that he's a dude.

Another Year, Another UN Resolution Condemning Israel

A report by UN Watch revealed that in 2022, the United Nations General Assembly approved 15 anti-Israel resolutions as compared to 13 against all other countries combined. 

Russia, which invaded Ukraine amid accusations of human rights violations, garnered six condemnations. North Korea, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Syria, Iran and the US were hit with one resolution each.

Saudi Arabia, China, Lebanon, Turkey, Venezuela and Qatar, which have poor human rights records or were involved in regional conflicts, were not dinged by any resolutions criticizing them.

From 2015 through 2022, including the above, the UN General Assembly has adopted 140 resolutions criticizing Israel and 68 on other countries. 

Since 2015, the General Assembly has adopted 140 resolutions against Israel. In the same period of time, the UN passed 68 resolutions against all other countries combined.

Last week, the General Assembly asked the International Court of Justice to provide an opinion on the legal consequences of Israel's "occupation" of the "Palestinian territories".

From 2006 through 2022, the UN Human Rights Council has adopted 99 resolutions against Israel, 41 against Syria, 13 against Iran, 4 against Russia, and 3 against Venezuela.

On Thursday, the UN Security Council held an emergency session over National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's visit to the Temple Mount earlier this week.

In 2022, EU member states voted for one resolution each to criticize Iran, Syria, North Korea, Myanmar, the U.S. for its embargo on Cuba, and six resolutions on Russia's war in Ukraine. See second table at bottom, showing resolution texts and votes. By contrast, EU states voted for about 10 resolutions on Israel.

These same EU states failed to introduce a single UNGA resolution this year on the human rights situation in China, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Algeria, or 175 other countries.

Jordan Peterson is a psychologist and social media star in Canada.

Further, he's opinionated and does not hesitate to express himself on social media.

For which, a Bob Hoge column at RedState.com explains, he's been ordered into "mandatory social-media communication retraining."

Hoge explains that the College of Psychologists of Ontario "is the body that oversees and sets the standards for the profession of psychology in Ontario and could suspend Peterson's clinical license."

Peterson explained, online, that he's been accused of "harming people (although none of the complainants involved in the current action were clients of mine, past or present, or were even acquainted with any of my clients."

"About a dozen people from all over the world submitted complaints about my public statements on Twitter and podcaster Joe Rogan over a four year period (out of the 15 million who follow me on social media) claiming that I had 'harmed' people (not them) with my views."
 
Elon Musk, who recently restored Peterson to his Twitter platform, responded simply with "!!."

Hoge explained, "Think this Soviet-style thought policing couldn't happen here in the good old US of A? Think again. 

California recently signed into law the anti-free-speech, anti-first-amendment law AB 2098, which allows the state medical board to revoke the licenses of those who spread 'misinformation.' 

The totalitarian measure seems explicitly written to invite abuse; it doesn't take long to realize that Governor Gavin Newsom or one of his functionaries could label any thought they don't like as 'misinformation,' and promptly ruin the career of the person who dared stray from state orthodoxy."

The Daily Mail pointed out Peterson had slammed Canadian lawmakers for banning discrimination on "gender" because it would threaten free speech, said "most people" have "privilege," said men should "grow up," and called a plus-size Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model "not beautiful."

Hoge said, "Notice that none of Peterson's pronouncements promote violence, or incite anyone to take harmful action against anyone else. These are just his opinions, and we used to live in a world where we were allowed to air those."

The report said Peterson has filed a Notice of Application for Judicial Review, a part of an appeal process, with the Ontario Divisional Court.

Newly Elected Congress Is 88% Christian - Will It Make A Difference?

Pew Research Center released a report on the religious composition of the recently-elected 118th Congress.

Christians make up 88% of the voting members of the new Congress compared with only 63% of US adults overall.  469 out of 534 total members self-identify as Christians. 
This is the lowest number since the Pew Research Center began analyzing the religious affiliation of the House and Senate for the 2009-2010 session. Of these, 303 identify as Protestant, 148 as Catholic, 9 as Mormon (CLS), 8 as Orthodox Christian, and 3 as Muslim.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL-R) identified as a Messianic Jew but she has publicly described herself as a Christian.

Only one member of the new Congress, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Independent-Arizona), identifies as religiously unaffiliated. Rep. Jared Huffman(D-Calif.) describes himself as a humanist, and 20 are categorized as having unknown religious affiliations.

20 members of Congress have unknown religious affiliations, either because they declined to answer CQ Roll Call’s query or because the answers were inconclusive. 

Pew noted that the Senate and House members are "largely untouched" by the ongoing decrease in the portion of Americans who identify as Christian and the comparable increase in the share of those who say they do not have a religious affiliation.

63% of Americans currently identify as Christian as compared to 78% in 2007. 29% of Americans currently say they are religiously unaffiliated as compared to 16% in 2007. 

33 identify as Jewish, one less than the previous Congress, accounting for 6% of the Congress, as compared to the general population which has a Jewish population of 2%.

Both chambers are dominated by Christians numerically. 268 out of 271 Republicans identify as Christians as compared to 201 of 263 Democrats.

All nine members of Congress who are Mormons are Republicans while Orthodox Christians are evenly split, with four from each major political party. Almost two-thirds (64 percent) of newcomers to Congress are Protestant; a bit more than half (55 percent) of incumbents identify with that branch of Christianity. There are fewer Catholic first-timers than returning members of Congress (22 percent compared with 29 percent).

Despite the similarity of faith - our nation remains divided more than ever and how do we explain the increasing legislation that contradicts scripture?

Prominent Evangelical pollster George Barna says that research shows most Americans blend their Christian beliefs with others to create "a customized worldview that describes what we feel, what we think, what we want, where we want to go, how we want to live".  

Some have called this dangerous adoption of merging beliefs, "buffet style Christianity" - where you pick and choose what you want to believe. 

According to Barna's research this has resulted in less than 6% of Americans actually holding to a Biblical worldview.

Is it any surprise that our political leaders claim the name of Christ but fail to defend Biblical standards and worldviews in legislation?

11 Ominous Predictions For 2023

There is a growing consensus that 2023 is going to be a miserable year for the U.S. economy and for the global economy as a whole.  

In fact, in all the years that I have been writing I have never seen so many big names on Wall Street be so incredibly pessimistic about the coming year.  Of course much of that pessimism is due to the fact that 2022 went so poorly.  

The cryptocurrency industry imploded, trillions of dollars in stock market wealth evaporated, inflation became a major problem all over the industrialized world, and a new housing crash suddenly erupted.  

Considering all of the pain that we have experienced over the past 12 months, it is only natural for the experts to have a negative view of 2023.  The following are 11 ominous warnings that they have issued for the year ahead...

#1 The IMF: "We expect one-third of the world economy to be in recession. Even countries that are not in recession, it would feel like recession for hundreds of millions of people"

#2 Bloomberg: "Economists say there is a 7-in-10 likelihood that the US economy will sink into a recession next year, slashing demand forecasts and trimming inflation projections in the wake of massive interest-rate hikes by the Federal Reserve."

#3 The World Bank: "As central banks across the world simultaneously hike interest rates in response to inflation, the world may be edging toward a global recession in 2023 and a string of financial crises in emerging market and developing economies that would do them lasting harm, according to a comprehensive new study by the World Bank."

#4 Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan: "We're going to have a shallow recession"

#5 Mohamed El-Erian: "Many 'high-conviction' U.S. recession calls are immediately coupled with the assertion that it'll be 'short and shallow.' Reminds me of the behavioral trap 'transitory inflation' proponents fell into last year"

#6 Nouriel Roubini: "No, this is not going to be a short and shallow recession, it's going to be deep and protracted"

#7 Larry Summers: "My sense is that it's much harder than many people think to achieve a soft landing"

#8 Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon: "Economic growth is slowing," Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said at the same conference. "When I talk to our clients, they sound extremely cautious."

#9 Charles Schwab & Co.'s Liz Ann Sonders: "We have to take our medicine still, meaning a weaker economy and a weaker labor market. The question is, is it better to take our medicine sooner or later?"

#10 BlackRock: "Central bankers won't ride to the rescue when growth slows in this new regime, contrary to what investors have come to expect. They are deliberately causing recessions by overtightening policy to try to rein in inflation"

#11 Michael Burry: "Inflation peaked. But it is not the last peak of this cycle. We are likely to see CPI lower, possibly negative in 2H 2023, and the US in recession by any definition. Fed will cut and government will stimulate. And we will have another inflation spike. It's not hard."

As you can see, there is a general consensus that things will be bad in 2023, but there is disagreement about just how deep the coming economic downturn will turn out to be.

If the worst of these forecasts turn out to be accurate, that will actually be incredibly good news.

Because the reality of what we will be facing in 2023 is likely to be significantly worse than any of these experts are currently projecting.

With each passing day, we continue to get even more numbers that indicate that big trouble is ahead.

For example, we just learned that luxury home sales absolutely cratered during the months of September, October and November...

Sales of luxury homes fell 38.1% year over year during the three months ending November 30, 2022, the biggest decline on record, according to a new report from Redfin, a technology-powered real estate brokerage. That outpaced the record 31.4% decline in sales of non-luxury homes. Redfin's data goes back to 2012.

The luxury market and the overall housing market lost momentum in 2022 due to many of the same factors: inflation, relatively high interest rates, a sagging stock market and recession fears.

We haven't seen anything like this since 2008.

And we all remember what the housing crash of 2008 ultimately did to the financial markets.

Normally, the beginning of a calendar year is a time for optimism.  As we look forward to a completely clean slate, it can be easy to forget the difficulties of the previous 12 months.

But this year things seem completely different.

On some level, just about everyone can feel that very challenging times are ahead of us.

Decades of very foolish decisions are starting to catch up with us in a major way.

Our leaders tried very hard to keep the party going for as long as possible, and to a certain extent they were quite successful in doing so.

Our politicians in Washington kept borrowing and spending trillions upon trillions of dollars that we did not have, and that definitely delayed our day of reckoning.

And the Federal Reserve kept the financial markets artificially propped up for years by endlessly pumping giant mountains of fresh cash into the system.

But such foolish measures only made our long-term problems even worse, and now our leaders are losing control.

All of the "mega-bubbles" are starting to burst, and the system is beginning to fall apart all around us.

It is time to turn out the lights, because the party is over.

We all had a lot of fun while it lasted, but now the bill is due and an extraordinary amount of pain is ahead.

The Growing Call For A Global Government And World Leader
It appears that the United States and several other countries that historically have called themselves democracies are as of late been longing for a stronger and stronger leader, not a president, but more like a king. And, those leaders who do already rule countries with almost absolute authority are not really qualified to take these ultimate positions because they inevitably end up falling into megalomania.

For example, Russia's Vladamir Putin started off as his nation's president, but then eventually became a dictator for life. Now he sees himself as an emissary for God with a divine calling to reunite Russian and Ukrainian Orthodoxy. The end step in the path towards megalomania usually is to declare oneself as a god or even the God. 

We see this pattern throughout history. These leaders may start off with the right idea in serving their nation, but soon the power goes to their heads and they quickly begin demanding that the nation instead serve themselves.

There are many examples of such political leaders throughout history. Megalomania is almost the default tendency of mankind. Remember Nimrod who was a great leader back in his day. We learned that he and his descendants tried to create the Tower of Babel. Over and over again in Scripture, we are presented by leaders who set themselves up against God's divine leadership by trying to create their own pagan empires surrounding Israel.

And, in recent years, we've been given a number of examples of leaders who exhibit megalomania. Just in this last century, we've had Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao. The Premier in China right now, Mr. Xi, is obviously heading in the same direction. Throughout human history, there's been Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Napoleon. 

Napoleon was such a megalomaniac that he didn't even deem anybody else worthy of crowning him, so he crowned himself as the emperor of France! Even during the pandemic, many leaders began heartily embracing this authoritarian concept, who ought to have known better.

Megalomaniacs are often portrayed in science fiction. Just look back at Dr. Moreau who was written by H.G. Wells. Moreau had his own island which he ruled with absolute authority. Captain Nemo, to a degree, ruled as captain of his submarine. Then there are television and movies, with characters such as Count Carlos Maria Vincenzo Manzeppi from The Wild Wild West who wanted to rule the world. There are characters like Khan in Star Trek. These characters were written as megalomaniacs.

But, now, we have real people who are no better than these fictional megalomaniacs. Supporters of a new era of kings are actually suggesting that we need a single great leader -- such as the Führer of Nazi Germany -- to embrace worldwide. It's hoped that this messianic figure will lead the nations out of our economic woes. I believe this tide is setting the world up for the prophesied Antichrist.

The Bible prophesied that in the end times the Roman Empire will revive and rise again. What's interesting is that for hundreds of years the Roman Empire started off as a republic. They had representative senators and some citizens could vote, if they came from a certain position. Shockingly enough, the Romans traded their republic in for an emperor. Why? Because Caesar could get things done.

That's why I think we're seeing this emphatic push for a global government. Our societies have grown to include so many people, and the politics have gotten so complex and so gridlocked, especially in times of disasters like when COVID came through. During that time, we heard WHO say we needed a global government to best manage natural disasters, which are currently happening all over the world. And, we read in the Bible that natural disasters will increase in frequency and intensity as the Lord's return draws near. We're tired of all of the bureaucracy and long for a just ruler who can easily cut through the red tape.

When it comes to a global government, I believe based on Scripture that world leadership will first narrow down to a group of men, like kings, and then eventually out of this group of ten men one will rise who will become the prophesied Antichrist. Megalomania will inevitably set in, and he will demand the world to worship him.

Not even ten years ago, when I was talking with some friends about this scenario, we still didn't see a call for global government. But, now that we're past the Pandemic, it seems like there's been a growing call for a global government.

A lot of people are tired of the challenges in getting a decent law passed through our legislatures. Look at our own Congress -- it's completely gridlocked by two parties. Americans don't want to wait for Congress to come up with solutions, or even to write laws, but rather for the Supreme Court to decide policies. We've been letting nine individuals decide what's right and wrong in this nation for decades, whether it's been Roe vs Wade and the legalization of abortion, which the Left wants, along with a whole host of other issues. We've been slowly giving power and authority to a much smaller governmental group.

Likewise, our presidents have begun making law by executive order, such as Biden attempting to erase hundreds of billions of dollars of student loan debt, even though the Executive branch doesn't have that kind of authority, either according to the Constitution or by Biden's own testimony. And yet, he's attempting it because there would be no other way to get that kind of provision passed by Congress. So, people will embrace expanded government in the short term based on their selfish hope of getting what they see will directly benefit themselves.

Biblical Leadership

Jesus talked about selfish versus unselfish leadership when He taught:

Matthew‬ ‭20:25-28‬ ‭KJV - "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."‬‬

Notice Jesus teaches that whoever wishes to become great will be your servant. He's contrasting the attitude that we as Christians should exhibit versus the pagans who are selfishly motivated. The rulers of the Gentiles or godless, lord their power over their people, and great men exercise authority over the weaker. This has always been the tendency of humanity -- to seek out a powerful leader whom they can unify around them.

A Misguided Hope

Westerners have historically looked down upon dictatorships, especially in the Middle East, where powerful religious leaders convince many of their people to follow them right off of a cliff. We think we're smarter than that. We are going to be a republic that represents democratic values. And yet, as of late we've been allowing many of our leaders, not that they are great, but to exert great power over us even when they've been driving us to ruin.

Manufactured disasters coupled the natural disasters have led the world to begin crying out for stronger, centralized leadership. We long for a messianic figure to step up and be the peacemaker. Well, the Bible prophesies in Daniel 9 and Revelation 6 and 13 that such a one-world ruler will indeed rise out of Europe and he will be hailed as a peacemaker. He will come promising to fix the looming global bankruptcy, which almost all economists are saying is coming right around the corner. He'll supposedly even be able to stop the storms and fix the climate.

But, and this is a universal concept, absolute power corrupts absolutely. This coming global leader, whether he starts off already satanically inspired, will eventually be possessed by Satan at the midpoint of the Tribulation, and so the power will inevitably go to his head. By the middle of the coming seven-year Tribulation period, he will demand that the entire world worship him. The Antichrist will be the ultimate megalomaniac.

He certainly will be. The Bible provides an example of the kind of raw power a potential world ruler can gain during a time of trouble. In Genesis, we learn of Joseph who advised Egypt's Pharaoh how to overcome the devastating seven-year famine that he had dreamed beforehand would occur. Joseph advised Pharaoh how over time he could essentially gain control over his entire land and the surrounding nations. Pharaoh traded stored food for money, cattle, land, and eventually people until he owned everything and everyone. The people had been reduced to serfdom slaving for their Pharaoh in order to survive.

Likewise, our well-intentioned efforts to overcome disasters and to provide for our people in need can lead to the elimination of the freedoms that we have long enjoyed. Therefore, we shouldn't look for a great human leader to come and "save" the human race, for his inevitable megalomania will lead the world into bondage.

Rather, we instead should turn to the One who has already provided freedom from sin and death, and that's the one true Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Is Britain On The Path To Becoming A Muslim Majority Nation?

On December 1, 2022, Britain's Office for National Statistics released the latest 10-yearly census, carried out in 2021, showing that the fastest-growing population in England and Wales is Muslims. According to the census:

"For the first time in a census of England and Wales, less than half of the population (46.2%, 27.5 million people) described themselves as 'Christian'..."

"It's not a great surprise that the Census shows fewer people in this country identifying as Christian than in the past," the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, said in response to the findings, "but it still throws down a challenge to us not only to trust that God will build his kingdom on Earth but also to play our part in making Christ known."

The Muslim community in Britain reacted otherwise. Zara Mohammed, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said:

"Whilst the Census does look at religion, the lack of wider religion-specific monitoring prevents us from fully understanding how acute the issue of under-representation of Muslims is in British society.

"These initial figures give us an opportunity to now make meaningful change and create a better Britain for all."

In 2013, British journalist Vincent Cooper wrote: "By the year 2050, in a mere 37 years, Britain will be a majority Muslim nation."

The census taken 2021 has revealed that while fewer than half of people (27.5 million) in England and Wales now describe themselves as Christian, those claiming "No religion" rose by 12 points to 37.2% (22.2 million). Those identifying as Muslim rose from 4.9% in 2011 to 6.5% (3.9 million) in 2021. The next most common responses were Hindu (1.0 million) and Sikh (524,000), while Buddhists overtook Jews (273,000 to 271,000).

Religion seems a far more important part of life for Muslims than for other Britons: it appears central to their sense of identity. According to a report from 2006:

"Thirty percent of British Muslims would prefer to live under Sharia (Islamic religious) law than under British law.... Twenty-eight percent hope for the U.K. one day to become a fundamentalist Islamic state."

An article by Abdul Azim Ahmed, published by the Religion Media Centre in September 2021, admitted that within Britain all the divergent schools of Islam are present -- although Salafism has grown in recent years, particularly among younger Muslims.

Trevor Phillips, former head of Britain's Commission for Racial Equality and Equality and Human Rights Commission, found that the followers of Islam hold very different values from the rest of the society; many apparently want to lead separate lives. "Muslims are creating nations within nations," he said.

Professor Linda Woodhead, a leading academic, said of second-generation Muslim immigrants:

"Now British Muslims were finding their voice with Muslim MPs and confident young people entering higher education, mixing with the many different ethnic Muslim communities and creating a new cultural kind of British Islam with food, clothing, music, and creative places."

Muslims in the UK appear more religious than most other religious groups. While fewer Christians are becoming church members and appear to be losing their faith, describing themselves atheist and non-religious, most Muslims in Britain strictly follow their religion. 

London shows the lowest share of non-religious residents, likely due to it having the highest percentage of followers of non-Christian faiths, including Muslims, who make up 13% of the area's respondents.

A 2015 report cites a survey by NatCen's British Social Attitude Survey:

"NatCen says the Church of England has been in decline for over 30 years and that decline appears to have accelerated over the last decade.

"In 2012, Muhammad had emerged as the commonest first name given by baby boys born in London. The name was also second commonest among new born mail babies across the UK and Wales the same year."

The Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats stated:

"Muslims have in some respects been more successful than others in the UK at passing on their religious beliefs and practices from one generation to the next. Higher rates of intergenerational transmission have been found among Muslims than among Christians, those of other religions, and non-religious people.

"Most Muslim children in the UK learn to read the Qur'an in Arabic, whether they do this at a daily mosque school, at the home of an independent teacher, in their own homes or even on Skype. In addition to the Qur'an and Arabic, many Muslim supplementary schools offer other aspects of Islamic Studies, as well as formal instruction in an ethnic language and culture."

The question is: What teachings are the Muslims across the world, including in the UK, receiving from studying the Quran? The Quran does not tolerate any polytheist, pagan, idolater or atheist -- the latter a group now increasing in Britain, according to the census.

Under The Radar, The Detransitioner Movement Is Surging

With the explosive phenomenon of gender dysphoria continuing to ripple across America's youth, a related but much less highlighted trend is simultaneously occurring -- a movement almost completely ignored by the mainstream media. New studies are now emerging showing that the "detransitioner" movement is far larger than what is commonly acknowledged, with detransition rates nearing 30% in some instances.

The phenomenon of "gender dysphoria" (the condition of being mentally distressed due to a perceived mismatch between one's gender identity and one's biological sex) has seen a colossal increase among children in the United States over the last five years. 

A recent investigation by Reuters found that a minimum of 121,882 minors in the U.S. between the ages of 6-17 were diagnosed with gender dysphoria between 2017 and 2021, while admitting that this is probably an "undercount." In 2021 alone, they tallied 42,167 diagnoses, an almost 70% increase from the previous year.

But thousands of young women and men who once identified as the opposite sex -- many of whom attempted a "gender transition" by ingested drugs and undergoing elaborate surgical procedures to impersonate the opposite sex -- are now rejecting the transgender identity and are once again embracing their natural sex.

As reported by The Post Millennial, new studies are showing that the rate of individuals who detransition away from a trans identity is occurring at paces that far exceed what the legacy media is reporting. At the Re/Detrans Canada event held at York University in Ontario last month, researchers presented a number of studies that showed detransition rates ranging from 2% to almost 30%. 

Three other studies from England show rates between 6.9% and 9.8%. Another yet to be published study of 774 young Canadians and Americans revealed that 16% had halted gender transition treatments, citing "health concerns, change in identity, and cost."

These rates contrast sharply with the "less than 1%" rate that is constantly trotted out by transgender activists and the media. As noted by The Post Millennial, other cultural indicators also point to a swelling detransitioner movement. Reddit, an online discussion forum that in early 2022 was the 9th-most-visited website in the world, has a "Detrans" chatroom (or "Subreddit") which currently has over 40,000 members.

Online accounts and testimonies of young women and men who have detransitioned from pursuing a gender transition opposite from their biological sex have exploded in the last five years, and distinct similarities are emerging from among many of these testimonies. While the causes for gender dysphoria are often complex and multifaceted, cultural and institutional influences beholden to a pro-transgender ideology have become primary contributors to the confusion over biological sex that is occurring among thousands of adolescents.

Here is a sampling of 20 testimonies from among the hundreds of detransitioners who have publicly shared their stories. The power that social media has to shape the minds of young people who have experienced abuse and are looking for affirmation is readily apparent in these accounts, along with the potent influence that medical and psychiatric professionals have in pushing their young patients down a path of gender transition drugs and surgical procedures that often create irreversible physiological harm.

Daisy Strongin spent seven years from age 15 to 22 attempting to transition from female to male. It began when she immersed herself on the internet due to depression from low self-esteem. "Chances are the kid who is spending 14 hours a day on the internet probably doesn't have a lot of in-real-life friends, and so they probably feel alienated. I mean, that's how I felt," she said. She soon discovered the world of "genderqueer" and "gender fluidity" on social media sites and began closely following "trans influencers." Strongin began getting testosterone injections and eventually underwent a double mastectomy. 

Soon, however, she began feeling remorse for her decision. "It just got so hard to look in the mirror because I felt more of a disconnect between my mind and my body than I did before," she said. "I felt like I was in some kind of weird gender purgatory." She now rejects gender theory and gender identity, calling it "a scam." Strongin is now 24 and newly married with an infant son.

KC Miller began taking testosterone at 16 and underwent a double mastectomy only six months after starting the injections. She says that she was introduced to gender ideology through influencers on YouTube. After noticing that the testosterone treatments were causing severe hair loss, she decided to detransition. She now admits that "social contagion" played a role in convincing her to transition. "The more detransitioners that speak out, the more that will feel comfortable to come forward," Miller says. "We're going to see a huge wave."

Chloe Cole went on puberty blockers and testosterone at just 13 years old. She had been diagnosed with autism and ADHD at age 7 and spent a lot of unsupervised time online, where she was exposed to gender ideology. When she began questioning her gender identity, she was fast-tracked by medical personnel into transitioning, and her parents were pressured to sign off on it. 

She underwent a double mastectomy at 13 and still suffers medical complications to this day five years later. Cole soon came to regret her decision and has now become a spokesperson to advocate for protecting children from undergoing transition procedures. She also launched a support group for detransitioners called Detrans United.

Helena Kerschner struggled with "depression, isolation, self-harm, an eating disorder, and suicidal thoughts" as a young teen. At 13, she was exposed to gender ideology through Tumblr. At 18 she began taking testosterone and soon began having fits of uncontrollable anger, eventually resorting to going to a psych unit where she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and psychosis. Seventeen months later, she decided to stop taking testosterone, and her symptoms immediately stopped. Kerschner noted that no medical professionals suggested that the hormones could be causing the symptoms.

Camille Kiefel experienced a traumatic event in her childhood, and she subsequently felt uncomfortable and vulnerable as a female and desired to look more androgynous. After being exposed to gender identity ideology in college, she began to identify as nonbinary, but not as transgender. "I struggled with severe mental illness and suicidal ideation," she says. 

After only two appointments with mental health workers, they recommended she receive a double mastectomy. The procedure caused her to suffer from acute distress, and she is now suing the health care professionals for what she calls an "abhorrent misdiagnosis." "I just don't want what happened to me to happen to someone else," she says.

Grace Lidinsky-Smith described a euphoric feeling when she started taking testosterone. She soon went ahead and also had both of her breasts removed. But afterward, she described having "intense, suicidal despair." She eventually stopped taking hormones and started using her birth name again. "It became important to just accept myself as myself," she said.

Cat Cattinson began taking hormones and described it as "one of the better antidepressants I had taken." But after three months, her voice dropped dramatically. "Nothing was coming out except air and squeaks," she said. She soon stopped going to social events and singing onstage, which had previously been one of her passions. After believing that transitioning would solve her depression, she soon discovered that it actually made it worse. Cattinson was able to find an online community of detransitioners and stopped taking hormones.

Keira Bell grew up in a troubled home in the U.K. and didn't have very many friends in her adolescent years. She decided she wanted to be a boy at 15, but what she says was really going on was that she was "insecure in my body who had experienced parental abandonment, felt alienated from my peers, suffered from anxiety and depression, and struggled with my sexual orientation." 

She went to a National Health Service clinic, which put her on puberty blockers at 16, testosterone at 17, and a double mastectomy at 20. "I was an unhappy girl who needed help," she writes. "Instead, I was treated like an experiment." After deciding to detransition, she sued the NHS clinic that treated her and won her case.

KathyGrace Duncan grew up in an abusive household and began to believe it was "unsafe" to be a woman. She began taking hormones at age 19 in the early 1980s and changed her name to Keith. Eleven years later, she was challenged by a fellow churchgoer and decided to start detransitioning. Duncan now works as a women's ministry leader to help women reclaim their femininity in a time of identity crisis in our culture. "It's time for women to break the mold. We don't have to look feminine, we just need to draw it out," she explains.

Walt Heyer was dressed in girls' clothes as a four-year-old boy repeatedly by his grandmother. He was later sexually abused by his uncle, which made him not want to be male. He would cross-dress and wish he was a girl. As an adult, he began living two separate lives as a married man and as a cross-dresser. He eventually decided to undergo both top and bottom gender transition surgery at age 40, and his marriage soon ended. 

After eight years of living as a woman, he found himself still distressed about his gender identity. He eventually got counseling for his emotional trauma and received healing. He detransitioned at age 50 and now provides support to other detransitioners through numerous authored books and his com ministry.

Elle Palmer had a traumatic online sexual experience as a young teen which she says greatly shook her confidence and self-worth. She started taking testosterone when she was 16 but started losing her hair, and soon decided to stop. "If I had been going to a good therapist, if I had been going to school, if I had had friends and had meaningful relationships with people outside of the internet, I know that I would have been able to reconcile my female identity with myself the way that I was," she says. "I was just living so disconnected from my body and so disconnected from who I really was."

Luka Hein suffered from mental health issues at age 15 in which she experienced discomfort with her body. A therapist encouraged her to come out as transgender, and by 16 she underwent a double mastectomy. Her parents had been told that she was at high risk of suicide if she did not transition. She has also undergone changes to her voice and body as a result of hormones. Now 20, she regrets listening to the doctors, who she says manipulated and misled her into irreversible damage to her body.

Laura Becker was diagnosed with a developmental disorder as a child, which today falls under the autism spectrum. She was also "verbally, emotionally, and psychologically" abused. She began having social anxiety and attempted suicide. She also began viewing pornography, which gave her a "misogynistic view of women." She began identifying as "genderqueer" after finding influencers on the social media site Tumblr. 

A psychiatrist diagnosed her with gender dysphoria after only two visits and said she was of "sound mind" to get a double mastectomy. She also began taking testosterone which "escalat[ed] her feelings of desperation and hopelessness." She came to regret her decision and is disappointed with the medical guidance she received. "There is a lot of bad therapy out there," she says.

Abel Garcia was raised by his grandparents and says he "didn't have a male role model in my family." The transient lifestyle he grew up with made it difficult to make friends. He learned about transgenderism on social media. When he came out to his parents, his father forced him to see a prostitute to "cure" him. The experience traumatized him. He saw a therapist and was "astounded at how quickly his therapist affirmed him as transgender, despite his mixed feelings." 

He began taking estrogen and had breasts surgically implanted on his chest. Three months later, he realized he had made a mistake. He has since suffered from a plethora of health complications as a result of taking estrogen. "We should obviously give people the actual help that they need, instead of affirming this illusion that they have and that we are feeding to them," he said.

Laura Beth Perry Smalts believed she was a man born in a woman's body and felt she "just needed to fix the body." She began to take male hormones and underwent a double mastectomy and hysterectomy. She later regretted her decision and married a man. She is now "deeply troubled by the lack of medical oversight and the ease with which young people are able to obtain opposite-sex hormones and surgeries." "It's so maddening when I look back. ... Where were the doctors willing to say, 'Hey, wait for a second, this is really not good for your body?'" she asks.

Dagny began experiencing gender dysphoria when she was around 12 after experiencing discomfort with her developing body. She was heavily influenced by people she met on social media who encouraged her to identify as trans. According to LifeSiteNews, "she no longer wishes to 'transition, and is distressed that other young people with gender dysphoria think they have no other choice. 'It's time to change that,' she said. 'It's time that we become aware of how much pain and negativity this narrative is causing.'"

Michelle Alleva experienced intense bullying at school as a child, and the trauma led to very low self-esteem. She began to find community online at places like Tumblr, where she connected with an LGBT community. After initially identifying as asexual, she developed feelings of wanting to change her body, and she received constant reassurance online that she should begin a gender transition. She started testosterone at age 20 and underwent a double mastectomy two years later. 

After an initial mental high, she soon began experiencing intense depression. She was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Three years later during the pandemic, she experienced a breakthrough and realized that her transgender identity was not solving her mental health problems and began to detransition.

Arianna Armour was adopted by Christian parents and went to church every Sunday, but faith did not take hold in her life, and she began to identify as a lesbian at age seven. She spent the next 14 years identifying that way before spending two years identifying as transgender. She had lost her faith and was suffering from depression and drug addiction. She was invited to come back to church in 2019 and decided to let go of her transgender identity after spending time in prayer and reading Scripture. "It all came down to a choice," she says. "I decided to follow Christ."

Samuel Jordan grew up in a Christian household and dreamed of becoming a pastor. But he was sexually abused by a friend's family member at age eight. After repeated abuse, he began exploring homosexuality as an adolescent. After a broken relationship with his mother who passed away soon after and his father moving in with another woman, Samuel found solace in the homosexual community, and soon began identifying as a woman and received breast implants. 

But after dropping out of college, he needed a place to stay and was taken in by a friend on the condition that he return to church. After experiencing a reconversion during a church service, he detransitioned and had the implants removed. "God told me 'You just gotta say yes, and I'm going to show you that I am God enough to fix it,'" he says.

Jeffrey McCall was bullied as a child, and by age 15 was living a homosexual lifestyle. When his relationships with other men ended and left him unfulfilled, he turned to drug abuse to cope. Eventually his inner turmoil led to him taking on a transgender identity as "Scarlet." This led to a continued pattern of promiscuity with other men and performing at drag shows. He eventually came into contact with two mentors, a college professor, and a pastor, who encouraged him in his faith journey, despite continuing to live a double life outside of church. 

One night, he broke down and asked God, "Will I ever live for you?" He heard God reply, "Yes, you will live for me." McCall soon gave up his transgender and homosexual lifestyle. "It was a lot to handle," he says. "I had to explain to people that it wasn't about becoming 'straight.' It was a choice not to follow sin. The alcoholic, transgender, homosexual, prescription drug life I had was not what God had created me for."

Here we are at that time again where I get out my prediction hat and give my replay of the year past, but also my predictions for the year ahead. These are just MY predictions based on my understanding of both geopolitical and biblical goings-on. I'm not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet. Neither am I a date-setter, or the son of a date-setter. Again, I'm just giving you my opinion as to where I think things are heading for the upcoming year.

As we close out the Year of our Lord 2022 and get ready to enter into 2023, we do so with perhaps the greatest trepidation that I've ever witnessed in my short time here on the planet. Just days after Christmas, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention republished a "self-assessment tool" urging teachers, administrators, school health staff, and others to become an "awesome ally" by advocating for LGBT causes in school.

The document cites multiple LGBT activist groups, including a division of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

"School administrators: Our LGBTQ inclusivity self-assessment tool can help you quickly gauge inclusivity at your school," the CDC's Division of Adolescent and School Health posted on Twitter on Tuesday. "See your score today and learn ways to increase inclusivity."

Economic conditions just keep getting worse.  As we prepare to enter 2023, we find ourselves in a high inflation environment at the same time that economic activity is really slowing down.  And just like we witnessed in 2008, employers are conducting mass layoffs as a horrifying housing crash sweeps across the nation.  

Those that have been waiting for the U.S. economy to implode can stop waiting, because an economic implosion has officially arrived.  The following are 15 facts that prove that a massive economic meltdown is already happening right now…

#1 Existing home sales have now fallen for 10 consecutive months.

#2 Existing home sales are down 35.4 percent over the last 12 months.  That is the largest year over year decline in existing home sales since the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

#3 Homebuilder sentiment has now dropped for 12 consecutive months.
#4 Home construction costs have risen more than 30 percent since the beginning of 2022.

#5 The number of single-family housing unit permits has fallen for nine months in a row.

#6 The Empire State Manufacturing Index has plunged “to a reading of negative 11.2 in December”.  That figure was way, way below expectations.

#7 In November, we witnessed the largest decline in retail sales that we have seen all year long.

#8 Even the biggest names on Wall Street are starting to let workers go.  In fact, it is being reported that Goldman Sachs will soon lay off approximately 4,000 employees.

#9 The Federal Reserve is admitting that the number of actual jobs in the United States has been overstated by over a million.

#10 U.S. job cuts were 417 percent higher in November than they were during the same month a year ago.

#11 A recent Wall Street Journal survey found that approximately two-thirds of all Americans expect the economy to get even worse next year.

#12 A newly released Bloomberg survey has discovered that 70 percent of U.S. economists believe that a recession is coming in 2023.

#13 Inflation continues to spiral wildly out of control.  At this point, a head of lettuce now costs 11 dollars at one grocery store in California.

#14 Overall, vegetable prices in the United States are more than 80 percent higher than they were at this same time last year.

#15 Thanks to the rapidly rising cost of living, 63 percent of the U.S. population is now living paycheck to paycheck.

In a desperate attempt to get inflation under control, the Federal Reserve has been dramatically increasing interest rates.

Those interest rate hikes are what has caused the housing market to crash, but Fed officials insist that such short-term pain is necessary in order to tame inflation.

But meanwhile our politicians in Washington are busy creating more inflation by borrowing and spending money at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented in our entire history.

This week, an abominable 1.7 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill is being rammed through Congress, but not a single member of Congress has read it.

The bill is 4,155 pages long, and U.S. Senator Rand Paul just held a press briefing during which he wheeled it out on a trolley…

After the grossly bloated $1.7 trillion Omnibus spending bill advanced in the Senate by a vote of 70-25, GOP Senator Rand Paul held a press briefing during which he wheeled in the “abomination” on a trolley and demanded to know how anyone would be able to read it before the end of the week.

Paul, along with the only other dissenting Senate Republicans Mike Braun, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, and Rick Scott highlighted how ludicrous the fast tracking of the bill has been.

Unfortunately, this absurd spending bill has broad support on both sides of the aisle, and that just shows how broken Washington has become.

Our system of government has failed time after time, and our politicians continue to spend money on some of the most ridiculous things imaginable.

The following examples that were pulled out of the 1.7 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill were discovered by the Heritage Foundation…

-$1.2 million for “LGBTQIA+ Pride Centers”
-$1.2 million for “services for DACA recipients” (aka helping illegal aliens with taxpayer funds) at San Diego Community College.
-$477k for the Equity Institute in RI to indoctrinate teachers with “antiracism virtual labs.”
-$1 million for Zora’s House in Ohio, a “coworking and community space” for “women and gender-expansive people of color.”
-$3 million for the American LGBTQ+ Museum in New York City.
-$3.6 million for a Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia.
-$750k for the for “LGBT and Gender Non-Conforming housing” in Albany, New York.
-$856k for the “LGBT Center” in New York.

And have you noticed that our politicians often prefer to push these types of bills through just before major holidays when hardly anyone is paying attention?

No matter who we send to Washington, the story remains the same.

As long as our politicians are borrowing and spending trillions of dollars that we do not have, Fed officials won’t be able to win their war against inflation.

The Fed can send interest rates into the stratosphere, but inflation will continue to remain high because our politicians insist on showering the nation with giant mountains of cash.

We should all be deeply, deeply offended by what is happening, but most Americans simply do not know enough to care.

But once economic conditions get even worse than they were in 2008 and 2009, the majority of the U.S. population will become extremely angry.

Of course things could have turned out much differently if we had made better decisions during the years leading up to this crisis.

Unfortunately, we have run out of time to change course, and that means that a tremendous amount of pain is ahead for all of us in 2023.

One Day After An Ominous Warning, California Coast Hit By Enormous Earthquake

This wasn't "the Big One", but hopefully it will serve as a wake up call for millions of California residents.  The magnitude 6.4 earthquake that just struck northern California killed two people and caused quite a bit of damage, but scientists have been persistently warning us that someday a massive earthquake will hit the region that will be absolutely catastrophic.  

In fact, just one day before the magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit northern California, we were specifically warned that someday a very large quake in northern California could cause "thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in damage".  The following was posted by the Daily Mail on December 19th...

Seismologists say San Francisco is due a devastating earthquake in the not-too-distant future - potentially causing thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in damage.

The United States Geological Survey predicts there is a 51 percent chance of a magnitude 7 quake hitting within the next three decades - releasing energy equivalent to around 1,000 atomic bombs.

A quake of that magnitude would ruin buildings, shut off electricity and vital communications, and cause huge wildfires, according to government modeling.

So is it just a coincidence that a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the region just one day later?

Maybe.

According to Fox News, the quake that just hit Humboldt County caused substantial damage "to roads and homes"...

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office warned in an alert of "widespread damages to roads and homes" reported throughout the county after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake shook the northern California coast early Tuesday morning.

"Due to a large earthquake, widespread damages to roads and homes are reported throughout Humboldt County. Be prepared for aftershocks. Check gas and water lines for damages or leaks. Exercise caution if traveling," it said in a tweet.

This is the largest earthquake that the state has experienced in quite a while, and one local resident says that the shaking lasted for about 15 to 20 seconds...

Jimmy Eller, who claims to live in the county, tweeted: "That earthquake was insane. A good 15-20 seconds of shaking."

Those that have felt the ground violently shaking under their feet will never forget the sensation.

Another local resident that has lived in the region for 65 years claims that this latest earthquake is the biggest one that she has ever been through...

Diana McIntosh, 69, said the temblor woke her up inside her home in an apartment complex in central Humboldt County.

"It felt like north and south rocked back and forth, and it kept getting bigger and bigger. I heard banging, things crashing and glass shattering," said McIntosh, who lives alone in her apartment off the freeway near the Pacific Ocean.

McIntosh, who said she has lived in the Eureka area for 65 years, called it the biggest earthquake she has ever experienced.

"I was screaming," she said. "The way that it shook ... I've never felt anything like that in my life."

So was this the main event, or is an even larger earthquake eventually coming?

Nobody really knows, but so far there have been approximately 80 aftershocks...

Up to 80 aftershocks rattled parts of Northern California after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the area early Tuesday, according to California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Director Mark Ghilarducci.

The largest aftershock was a 4.6 magnitude quake which happened in Rio Dell, which he described as one of the "hardest hit areas."

Hopefully things will settle down for at least a little while.

But as I discussed last month, we have seen a lot of very unusual earthquakes lately.

And as I discussed earlier this month, volcanic activity has also been on the rise all over the globe.

We are witnessing a tremendous amount of instability all over the planet, and this is particularly true in high risk zones.

Of course the entire west coast of the United States sits directly along the Ring of Fire, and I have been warning for years that there will eventually be extremely catastrophic seismic events that will permanently alter the geography of the coastline.

Scientists have been issuing similar warnings.  In addition to warning about what could happen to northern California, they have also pointed out how vulnerable southern California, Oregon and Washington are...

A 2008 scenario said a magnitude 7.8 quake could cause nearly 2,000 deaths and more than $200 billion in economic losses. Big quakes in Los Angeles are particularly devastating because the soil holding up the city will turn into a "bowl of jelly," according to a post published by catastrophe modeling company Temblor.

Another scenario warns that a stretch of coast in Oregon and Washington state is capable of producing an earthquake much more powerful than the ones California is bracing for. Parts of coastline would suddenly drop 6 feet, shattering critical bridges, destroying undersea communication cables and producing a tsunami.

Thousands are expected to die, but local leaders are considering projects that could give coastal residents a better chance at survival.

But most people that live along the west coast are not interested in such warnings.

Thankfully, the U.S. Geological Survey has now developed a system that gives people advance notice when an earthquake is coming.  In fact, it worked as designed during this latest event...

Some Bay Area residents were promptly woken up by a ShakeAlert app notification 10 seconds before a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Humboldt County early Tuesday morning. At 2:34 a.m., emergency officials released an alert via the ShakeAlert system operated by the U.S. Geological Survey telling people to drop, cover and hold on for an earthquake that occurred about 8 miles offshore of Ferndale, a town more than 250 miles north of San Francisco.

The alert was sent to some 3 million people in Northern California, and the system successfully operated as emergency service crews hoped, said Mark Ghilarducci, director of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

A 10 second warning may allow you to drop and cover, but if a giant tsunami is racing toward the coastline a 10 second warning won't do you much good at all.

The experts assure us that it is just a matter of time before a massive seismic event kills vast numbers of people along the west coast.

But for the moment, ignorance is bliss, and most people that live in the region will continue to pretend that everything is just fine.

5 Global Flashpoints Which Could Absolutely Explode During Early 2023

Will 2023 be a year when extremely destructive conflicts erupt all over the world? We are certainly already living in a time of "wars and rumors of wars", and tensions are approaching the boiling point in a number of key global flashpoints right now
If several more major conflicts were to suddenly begin next year, we could potentially witness an extended period of geopolitical instability that would be unlike anything that we have ever witnessed.  It is easy to start wars, but it is much harder to end them.

#1 Serbia

Are you ready for another war in the Balkans?  Ethnic tensions have risen to the highest level in more than two decades, and the president of Serbia just convened an emergency gathering of his national security council...

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has met his national security council as tensions rise in Kosovo between the authorities there and ethnic Serbs.

On Saturday a stun grenade was thrown at EU police in north Kosovo, where Serbs form a majority, and local police exchanged fire with unknown groups.

Ethnic Serbs set up road blocks after Kosovan police were deployed in a dispute over car number plates.

Some in the region now believe that war is "inevitable", and Kosovo is already asking NATO to step in and intervene...

At a news conference in Kosovo's capital Pristina on Sunday, Prime Minister Albin Kurti asked the Kosovo Force (KFOR), a NATO-led international peacekeeping force, to guarantee "freedom of movement," as he accused "criminal gangs" of blocking roads.

A fragile peace has been preserved in Kosovo since it declared independence from Serbia in 2008 following the 1998-99 war in which NATO intervened to protect Kosovo's Albanian majority. Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence.

#2 The Disputed Border Between China And India

On Tuesday, we learned that there has been yet another violent clash along the hotly disputed border between China and India...

Soldiers from India and China clashed last week along their disputed border, India's defense minister said Tuesday, in the latest violence along the contested frontier since June 2020, when troops from both countries were killed in a deadly brawl.

Rajnath Singh, who addressed lawmakers in parliament, said Friday's encounter along the Tawang sector of eastern Arunachal Pradesh state started when Chinese troops "encroached into Indian territory" and "unilaterally tried to change the status quo" along the disputed border near Yangtze.
The Chinese just can't seem to stop provoking India, and a full-blown conflict between the two nations could escalate out of control very rapidly.
Let us hope that does not happen, because both China and India possess nuclear weapons.

Mass surveillance is the Deep State's version of a "gift" that keeps on giving...back to the Deep State.

Geofencing dragnets. Fusion centers. Smart devices. Behavioral threat assessments. Terror watch lists. Facial recognition. Snitch tip lines. Biometric scanners. Pre-crime. DNA databases. Data mining. Precognitive technology. Contact tracing apps.

What these add up to is a world in which, on any given day, the average person is now monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways by both government and corporate eyes and ears.

Big Tech wedded to Big Government has become Big Brother.

Every second of every day, the American people are being spied on by a vast network of digital Peeping Toms, electronic eavesdroppers and robotic snoops.

This creepy new era of government/corporate spying--in which we're being listened to, watched, tracked, followed, mapped, bought, sold and targeted--has been made possible by a global army of techno-tyrants, fusion centers and Peeping Toms.

Consider just a small sampling of the tools being used to track our movements, monitor our spending, and sniff out all the ways in which our thoughts, actions and social circles might land us on the government's naughty list, whether or not you've done anything wrong.

Tracking you based on your phone and movements: Cell phones have become de facto snitches, offering up a steady stream of digital location data on users' movements and travels. For instance, the FBI was able to use geofence data to identify more than 5,000 mobile devices (and their owners) in a 4-acre area around the Capitol on January 6. This latest surveillance tactic could land you in jail for being in the "wrong place and time." 

Police are also using cell-site simulators to carry out mass surveillance of protests without the need for a warrant. Moreover, federal agents can now employ a number of hacking methods in order to gain access to your computer activities and "see" whatever you're seeing on your monitor. Malicious hacking software can also be used to remotely activate cameras and microphones, offering another means of glimpsing into the personal business of a target.

Tracking you based on your DNA. DNA technology in the hands of government officials completes our transition to a Surveillance State. If you have the misfortune to leave your DNA traces anywhere a crime has been committed, you've already got a file somewhere in some state or federal database--albeit it may be a file without a name. 

By accessing your DNA, the government will soon know everything else about you that they don't already know: your family chart, your ancestry, what you look like, your health history, your inclination to follow orders or chart your own course, etc. After all, a DNA print reveals everything about "who we are, where we come from, and who we will be." It can also be used to predict the physical appearance of potential suspects. It's only a matter of time before the police state's pursuit of criminals expands into genetic profiling and a preemptive hunt for criminals of the future.

Tracking you based on your face: Facial recognition software aims to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. Coupled with surveillance cameras that blanket the country, facial recognition technology allows the government and its corporate partners to identify and track someone's movements in real-time. One particularly controversial software program created by Clearview AI has been used by police, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to collect photos on social media sites for inclusion in a massive facial recognition database. 

Similarly, biometric software, which relies on one's unique identifiers (fingerprints, irises, voice prints), is becoming the standard for navigating security lines, as well as bypassing digital locks and gaining access to phones, computers, office buildings, etc. In fact, greater numbers of travelers are opting into programs that rely on their biometrics in order to avoid long waits at airport security. Scientists are also developing lasers that can identify and surveil individuals based on their heartbeats, scent and microbiome.

Tracking you based on your behavior: Rapid advances in behavioral surveillance are not only making it possible for individuals to be monitored and tracked based on their patterns of movement or behavior, including gait recognition (the way one walks), but have given rise to whole industries that revolve around predicting one's behavior based on data and surveillance patterns and are also shaping the behaviors of whole populations. One smart "anti-riot" surveillance system purports to predict mass riots and unauthorized public events by using artificial intelligence to analyze social media, news sources, surveillance video feeds and public transportation data.

Tracking you based on your spending and consumer activities: With every smartphone we buy, every GPS device we install, every Twitter, Facebook, and Google account we open, every frequent buyer card we use for purchases--whether at the grocer's, the yogurt shop, the airlines or the department store--and every credit and debit card we use to pay for our transactions, we're helping Corporate America build a dossier for its government counterparts on who we know, what we think, how we spend our money, and how we spend our time. 

Consumer surveillance, by which your activities and data in the physical and online realms are tracked and shared with advertisers, has become big business, a $300 billion industry that routinely harvests your data for profit. Corporations such as Target have not only been tracking and assessing the behavior of their customers, particularly their purchasing patterns, for years, but the retailer has also funded major surveillance in cities across the country and developed behavioral surveillance algorithms that can determine whether someone's mannerisms might fit the profile of a thief.

Tracking you based on your public activities: Private corporations in conjunction with police agencies throughout the country have created a web of surveillance that encompasses all major cities in order to monitor large groups of people seamlessly, as in the case of protests and rallies. They are also engaging in extensive online surveillance, looking for any hints of "large public events, social unrest, gang communications, and criminally predicated individuals." 

Defense contractors have been at the forefront of this lucrative market. Fusion centers, $330 million-a-year, information-sharing hubs for federal, state and law enforcement agencies, monitor and report such "suspicious" behavior as people buying pallets of bottled water, photographing government buildings, and applying for a pilot's license as "suspicious activity."

Tracking you based on your social media activities: Every move you make, especially on social media, is monitored, mined for data, crunched, and tabulated in order to form a picture of who you are, what makes you tick, and how best to control you when and if it becomes necessary to bring you in line. As The Intercept reported, the FBI, CIA, NSA and other government agencies are increasingly investing in and relying on corporate surveillance technologies that can mine constitutionally protected speech on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in order to identify potential extremists and predict who might engage in future acts of anti-government behavior. 

This obsession with social media as a form of surveillance will have some frightening consequences in coming years. As Helen A.S. Popkin, writing for NBC News, observed, "We may very well face a future where algorithms bust people en masse for referencing illegal 'Game of Thrones' downloads... the new software has the potential to roll, Terminator-style, targeting every social media user with a shameful confession or questionable sense of humor."

Tracking you based on your social network: Not content to merely spy on individuals through their online activity, government agencies are now using surveillance technology to track one's social network, the people you might connect with by phone, text message, email or through social message, in order to ferret out possible criminals. 

An FBI document obtained by Rolling Stone speaks to the ease with which agents are able to access address book data from Facebook's WhatsApp and Apple's iMessage services from the accounts of targeted individuals and individuals not under investigation who might have a targeted individual within their network. What this creates is a "guilt by association" society in which we are all as guilty as the most culpable person in our address book.

Tracking you based on your car: License plate readers are mass surveillance tools that can photograph over 1,800 license tag numbers per minute, take a picture of every passing license tag number and store the tag number and the date, time, and location of the picture in a searchable database, then share the data with law enforcement, fusion centers and private companies to track the movements of persons in their cars. 

With tens of thousands of these license plate readers now in operation throughout the country, affixed to overpasses, cop cars and throughout business sectors and residential neighborhoods, it allows police to track vehicles and run the plates through law enforcement databases for abducted children, stolen cars, missing people and wanted fugitives. Of course, the technology is not infallible: there have been numerous incidents in which police have mistakenly relied on license plate data to capture out suspects only to end up detaining innocent people at gunpoint.

Tracking you based on your mail: Just about every branch of the government--from the Postal Service to the Treasury Department and every agency in between--now has its own surveillance sector, authorized to spy on the American people. For instance, the U.S. Postal Service, which has been photographing the exterior of every piece of paper mail for the past 20 years, is also spying on Americans' texts, emails and social media posts. 

Headed up by the Postal Service's law enforcement division, the Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) is reportedly using facial recognition technology, combined with fake online identities, to ferret out potential troublemakers with "inflammatory" posts. The agency claims the online surveillance, which falls outside its conventional job scope of processing and delivering paper mail, is necessary to help postal workers avoid "potentially volatile situations."

Now the government wants us to believe that we have nothing to fear from these mass spying programs as long as we've done nothing wrong.

Don't believe it.

The government's definition of a "bad" guy is extraordinarily broad, and it results in the warrantless surveillance of innocent, law-abiding Americans on a staggering scale.

Surveillance, digital stalking and the data mining of the American people--weapons of compliance and control in the government's hands--haven't made America any safer. And they certainly aren't helping to preserve our freedoms.

Indeed, America will never be safe as long as the U.S. government is allowed to shred the Constitution.

Reflecting back on 2022, I found myself in the same yearly predicament. How do we select ten top stories of the year when, in reality, there were one hundred ten prominent happenings during the year as the last days wind down? Let me share some that I feel are worth discussing. All of them have prophetic implications.
1. The Rise of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Cabal and their Rush to Global Government
Ten years ago, had you heard of Klaus Schwab? How about Yuval Noah Harari? Were you tracking them even five years ago? Of course not. Today many are aware of this crowd and their one-world intentions. A lot of our readers understand this is the true shadow government. Revelation 13 outlines their scheme well.

2. The Stirring Up of the Spirit of the Antichrist
We all see the new lawlessness and rebellion in every aspect of society! Its current overdrive was sparked in my hometown, Minneapolis, in May, 2020 with the George Floyd ordeal. Now police forces are reduced, criminals face no bail, and prosecutors encourage more lawlessness. But the spirit of the Antichrist is everywhere--in our government, in our schools, and more. It is priming the pump for the real Antichrist.

At the same time, Jews are under attack in many countries. Assaults have increased over 100% in the last year. New York City attacks against Jews are up 125% in the last year. The "people of the book", Jews and Christians, are hated as the Bible foretold.
8. The Rise of Strong Delusion and Global Deception
How else do you explain the rage that girls can become boys and boys can become girls? That men can join women's sports and change clothes in the ladies' locker rooms? And that all of this is totally normal and healthy? Trans-identifying kids in the U.S. have increased by almost 1,000% in the last two years. How do you explain the love of killing a baby in the womb, at any stage of life, with a torturous procedure? God will not tolerate this much longer!
9. Running Amok: Apostasy in the Church
It would take a three-hundred-page book to summarize the current state of the church now. In the last two years, thousands have gone "woke", seeker-sensitive, and more. Social justice has replaced salvation. Many teach that the church will make the world a better place--even perfect. The sheep are trying to find a solid church--and one that talks about issues of the day and Bible prophecy. Many churches want to tell people they can have their best life now.
10. The Staggering Rise of the Paranormal and Occult, Called Sorcery in the Bible
The world, and some in the church, are dancing with the devil. Social media encourages this and provides a platform. Even Christians dabble in things they know they shouldn't. Then there is the blatant--the Commonwealth Games last summer that featured the re-creation of the Tower of Babel and a woman riding a beast--with many bowing down to the beast. This is all leading to rampant sorcery talked about in Revelation, and there it is combined with drugs.

What did you think the last days would look like? Believe the Bible when it calls our times perilous and filled with people possessing selfish, reckless motives. God is orchestrating events to wind up this amazing drama known as the Church Age. The last act may be on display. Expect a trumpet and a shout any day. (I Thess. 4:16)

Who Is Purposely Sabotaging Power Plants All Over America?

Someone has been attacking power plants all over the country, and federal authorities are trying to determine who it is.  In recent days, we have seen significant sabotage on both the east and west coasts, and so it can't just be one individual that is responsible.  

During the first eight months of this year, there were a total of 106 attacks on the electrical grid in the United States, and that represents the highest number ever recorded in a single year.  

Hopefully authorities will be able to get to the bottom of this mystery, because winter will soon officially begin.  If power goes out in your neck of the woods for an extended period of time during the months ahead, what will you do?

Nobody is trying to claim that the string of attacks that we have been witnessing is "accidental", and ABC News is reporting that "federal authorities are investigating" this very disturbing trend...

Federal authorities are investigating a number of recent reported acts of sabotage on utility companies, a senior law enforcement source told ABC News.
The move comes in the wake of substations being riddled with bullets in North Carolina, leaving tens of thousands without power for days.

After the incident, the utility companies reached out to federal authorities in recent days to investigate, the source said.
The recent incident in North Carolina was particularly alarming.
At approximately 7 PM on Saturday night, gunfire erupted at two electrical substations in Moore County.  Officials are calling this "an intentional and coordinated attack"...

Duke Energy restored power to all of its North Carolina customers Wednesday evening, four days after 45,000 customers were left in the dark after what officials have said was an intentional and coordinated attack on two substations in Moore County. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields has said a motive for the attack is not known. It is also not clear what kind of protective measures were in place to prevent such an assault.

So who is to blame?
Well, these days authorities seem to have a rule for this sort of thing.  When in doubt, blame the right-wing people.
Apparently a drag show was going on at the same time that the attacks on the substations happened, and so investigators are now focusing on that angle...

An LGBTQ nonprofit in North Carolina had set up a drag show at the Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines on Saturday night around the same time when the electric facilities were targeted with gunfire around 7pm.
The incident led to officials declaring a state of emergency as about 32,000 southeastern residents were left without power until Thursday.

Investigators are now determining if the backlash the 18 or older show received leading up to the performance led to the targeted attack.

That theory may or may not turn out to be accurate, but what about all of the other attacks that have been taking place all over the nation?

Just a few days prior to the sabotage in North Carolina, two electrical substations in the Portland area were attacked...
Two power substations in the Portland metro area have been deliberately damaged, utility companies say, with both incidents preceding targeted gunfire that damaged substation equipment in North Carolina, leaving thousands without power.

Portland General Electric and the Bonneville Power Administration each had a separate substation location in Clackamas County attacked.
Did the same people that shot up substations in the Portland area hop on a plane and fly to the east coast so that they could shoot up some substations in North Carolina?
Of course not.
Something very strange appears to be happening, and a federal law enforcement memo that has been made public makes it sound like these attacks are definitely being planned in advance...

A federal law enforcement memo revealed that the Pacific Northwest substations have described attacks using 'handtools, arson, firearms, and metal chains possibly in response to an online call for attacks on critical infrastructure.'
'In recent attacks, criminal actors bypassed security fences by cutting the fence links, lighting nearby fires, shooting equipment from a distance or throwing objects over the fence and on to equipment,' read the memo.
Who in the world would want to do something like this?
According to the Department of Homeland Security, "domestic extremists" have had "specific plans to attack electricity infrastructure since at least 2020".

Of course when they say "domestic extremists", they really mean "right-wing extremists".

But is that what is really going on here?
In recent years, left-wing extremists have sabotaged and attacked far more buildings in the United States than anyone else has.
And to be honest, it could just as easily be a foreign terror group or intelligence agents from a hostile country.
At this point, we just don't know.
But what we do know is that the number of attacks on our electrical grid has been rising.  The following comes from NBC News...

Nearly 600 electric emergency incidents and disturbances were caused by suspected and confirmed physical attacks and vandalism on the electric grid in those nine years, the reports show. There have been 106 attack or vandalism incidents from January through August 2022, which is the latest the Energy Department data tracks. Among the years reviewed by NBC News, 2022 is the first that reached triple digits and it only contains eight months of data.

We are a nation that is absolutely teeming with "soft targets", and I expect that we will see these attacks become even more frequent during the years to come.
And that will especially be true as more major wars erupt around the globe.
There are so many people out there that hate us, and we have a very deeply divided nation right now.
So let us hope that authorities all over the country take action to ramp up security at critical infrastructure such as power plants.

Unfortunately, that probably won't happen any time soon.
That means that it is imperative to have a really good back up plan for when the power goes down in your area for an extended period of time.

'Hidden' Derivatives Could Crash The Entire Global Financial System

If you thought that the collapse of FTX was something, just wait until the entire global financial system comes crashing down all around us.  Most people just assume that the system is being managed by rational people that behave in rational ways, but of course countless investors assumed the same things about FTX.  

Sadly, the global financial system has slowly but surely been transformed into the largest casino in the history of the world.  It is a colossal Ponzi scheme, and once in a while authorities give us a little peek into what is really going on behind the curtain.

For example, this week the Bank for International Settlements released a report that warned that 65 trillion dollars in "hidden" currency derivatives could potentially be a major threat to the stability of the entire system...

There's a hidden risk to the global financial system embedded in the $65 trillion of dollar debt being held by non-US institutions via currency derivatives, according to the Bank for International Settlements.

In a paper with the title "huge, missing and growing," the BIS said a lack of information is making it harder for policy makers to anticipate the next financial crisis. In particular, they raised concern with the fact that the debt is going unrecorded on balance sheets because of accounting conventions on how to track derivative positions.

Last year, the total value of all goods and services produced in the entire world was just 96 trillion dollars.

So we are talking about an amount of money that is almost unimaginable.

Everything will be okay as long as financial conditions remain relatively stable.

But BIS analysts warn that "the next time dollar funding liquidity is squeezed" we could have an enormous crisis on our hands...

"Off-balance-sheet dollar debt may remain out of sight and out of mind--but only until the next time dollar funding liquidity is squeezed," the analysts write. "Then, the hidden leverage in pension funds and insurance companies' portfolios . . . could pose a policy challenge."

So let's hope that such a scenario does not materialize any time soon.

According to the BIS report, banks outside the U.S. are particularly vulnerable...

For researchers at the BIS, it's the sheer scale of the swaps that's worrying. They estimate that banks headquartered outside the US carry $39 trillion of this debt -- more than double their on-balance sheet obligations and ten times their capital. Accounting conventions only require derivatives to be booked on a net basis, so the full extent of the cash involved isn't recorded on a balance sheet.

"There is a staggering volume of off-balance sheet dollar debt that is partly hidden, and FX risk settlement remains stubbornly high," said Borio, head of the monetary and economic department at the BIS.

When this thing finally implodes, there isn't going to be enough money in the entire world to fix it all.

But don't worry.

The "experts" are telling us that everything is fine.

Meanwhile, more of our largest corporations are planning layoffs.  According to the Wall Street Journal, this even includes PepsiCo...

PepsiCo is reported laying off headquarter workers, The Wall Street Journal reports.

A person familiar with the matter told the Journal that hundreds of jobs are being cut in the head office of the North American snacks and beverages divisions.

Employees in Purchase, N.Y., Chicago, Ill. and Plano, Tex. are said to be impacted.

I thought that PepsiCo was doing well.

I guess not.

But don't worry.

The "experts" are telling us that everything is fine.

This week some of the biggest names in the mainstream media have also announced layoffs...

Hundreds of media industry staffers were laid off this week during a brutal period that saw Warner Bros. Discovery, Gannett and others slash headcount as economic uncertainty plagues news organizations.

Gannett, a newspaper juggernaut that owns dozens of local media outlets along with USA Today, began its latest round of layoffs on Thursday. The cost-cutting effort impacted roughly 6% of the company's news workforce of about 3,440 employees.

I can't remember ever seeing such a wave of layoffs at our largest media companies.

But don't worry.

The "experts" are telling us that everything is fine.

Of course the truth is that everything is not fine.

Economic conditions are deteriorating all around us, and the ripple effects are being felt everywhere.

According to Fox Business, even Las Vegas is feeling the pain...

Inflation is taking its toll on Sin City as fewer tourists are visiting the gambling Mecca, and those who do spend less than usual, according to a new report.

The University of Las Vegas business school released a report forecasting the city's economic outlook between 2022 and 2024 and noted that its economy turned grim in June of this year, according to Fox 5.

"Interest rates have gone up. And we know that we know that prices are going up as well. And that's what the Fed is trying to get their hands around and solve. So it may be that the Fed's policies is having an effect not only nationally, but it's also affecting our economy locally," one of the study's authors, Professor Stephen Miller, told the outlet.

2008 and 2009 were incredibly difficult years for Las Vegas.

Now those that run businesses in Sin City are bracing for another extended downturn.

In all my years of writing, I have never been more concerned about the short-term economic outlook them I am right now.

It is very likely that 2023 will be a really hard year for the U.S. economy, and of course this comes at a time when the entire globe is being hit by crisis after crisis.

For ages we have been warned that a day of reckoning would eventually be coming, and now it appears that day of reckoning has already arrived.

There is certainly nothing wrong with hoping for the best.  But there is also wisdom in getting prepared for the worst.

Pentagon Report - China's Nuclear Buildup Could Overtake America

The Pentagon's new China Military Power Report provides troubling insights on the extent of the growth of the communist regime's nuclear arsenal. It describes a nation bent on multiplying its nuclear forces.

First and foremost, the 2022 report reveals that China could field 1,500 nuclear weapons by 2035. This effectively would equal the nuclear arsenal of the United States, which deploys around 1,550 nuclear weapons (as limited by the New START treaty with Russia).

Last year's report estimated that China would have 1,000 warheads fielded by 2030, but this new assessment indicates China's intent to achieve nuclear parity with, or surpass, the U.S.

Second, the new report states that China's nuclear buildup--which already had been described by the commander of U.S. Strategic Command as a "strategic breakout"--has accelerated.

It's worth recalling that in 2020, the Pentagon estimated that China would double its stockpile of about 200 nuclear weapons over the decade. The 2022 report now states that China has already done so--in just two years.

Indeed, this acceleration matches the prediction from Adm. Charles Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, that "whatever the time estimate that the intelligence community gives you on anything from China, divide it by two and maybe by four and you will get closer to the right answer."

These updated estimates also remind Americans that we don't know when China will stop this nuclear expansion, and that it would be unwise to assume the regime will stop at 1,000 warheads by 2030 or even 1,500 by 2035. Given China's ambitions to become a top military power and supplant the U.S. on the world stage, what's to stop it from soaring past parity with the U.S. and trying to achieve nuclear superiority?

Yet the United States currently doesn't have the nuclear forces designed to deter a Chinese nuclear threat of this size. The size and composition of the U.S. nuclear deterrent was designed around 2010, based on assumptions of a more benign threat environment than the one we see today.

At that time--when decisions about the future U.S. nuclear force were made--China was expected to maintain its historic "minimum deterrence" strategy. No one predicted the rapid nuclear expansion we're seeing today. As nuclear threats continue to grow, so does the concern that U.S. nuclear forces may not be sufficient to meet the demands of the new and dynamic threat environment.

Third, the Pentagon report notes China's deliberate effort to expand warhead production. In particular, it highlights Beijing's increasing capacity to produce plutonium, the nuclear material required for a nuclear weapon.

Access to plutonium has been regarded by some analysts as a limiting factor for China's nuclear program. But the Pentagon report indicates that China is determined to remedy this. Although the report doesn't describe China's warhead production in detail, it estimates a deployed force of 1,000 warheads by 2030 growing to 1,500 fielded warheads by 2035; this could suggest a rough production capacity of around 100 warheads per year in the 2030s.

This would be significant.

By comparison, the U.S. lacks the ability to produce nuclear warheads because it doesn't have the capacity to produce plutonium pits, which compose the core of any nuclear weapon.

The U.S. currently is working to reconstitute its ability to produce plutonium pits, with the goal of producing 80 pits per year. But this capability isn't expected to be fully operational until 2032 at the earliest.

In short, the Pentagon report suggests that China still will possess a larger warhead production capacity even if the U.S. fully achieves its own production goals.

What's more, the goal of producing 80 pits a year is based on the need to replace existing weapons before they age out. The U.S. does have a substantial number of warheads in reserve, but those would require new plutonium pits as well. In other words, U.S. plutonium pit production only will enable the U.S. to replace its existing forces while China's weapons production will increase its arsenal dramatically.

A Chinese advantage in capacity to produce warheads provides President Xi Jinping a path to nuclear superiority, should he choose to pursue it. The U.S., for its part, would have few options to respond if China decided to continue building beyond 1,500 warheads.

Climate Change Restrictions And Lockdowns? They Are Already Starting

I suppose that we should have known that this was inevitable.  After establishing a precedent during the pandemic, now the elite apparently intend to impose lockdowns for other reasons as well.  What I have detailed in this article is extremely alarming, and I hope that you will share it with everyone that you can.  

Climate change lockdowns are here, and if people don't respond very strongly to this it is likely that we will soon see similar measures implemented all over the western world.  The elite have always promised to do "whatever it takes" to fight climate change, and now we are finding out that they weren't kidding.
 
Over in the UK, residents of Oxfordshire will now need a special permit to go from one "zone" of the city to another.  But even if you have the permit, you will still only be allowed to go from one zone to another "a maximum of 100 days per year"

Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn't. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.

Are residents of Oxfordshire actually going to put up with this?

I never thought that we would actually see this sort of a thing get implemented in the western world, but here we are.

Of course there are a few people that are loudly objecting to this new plan, but one Oxfordshire official is pledging that "the controversial plan would go ahead whether people liked it or not".

This sounds very similar to a plan being implmeneted by Australia's Commonwealth Bank (CBA) which has partnered with Cogo, a "carbon management solutions" company, to implplament a new feature that links purchases to a customer's carbon footprint and warns them when they are going over the average.

The bank gives the customer the option to "pay a fee" to offset their carbon footprint, with the average listed as 1,280 kilograms, a long way from the 'sustainable' figure of 200 kilograms.

A person's carbon footprint is calculated and then an 'equivalent' metric is show to make the customer feel guilty about it, such as "8 trees being cut".

"By combining our rich customer data and CoGo's industry-leading capability in measuring carbon outputs, we will be able to provide greater transparency for customers so that they can take actionable steps to reduce their environmental footprint," CommBank Group executive Angus Sullivan said in a statement.

The bank has promised to refine the calculation down to showing how much CO2 individual purchases are responsible for.

While initially presented as a handy way for someone to track their consumption habits and the supposed impact they have on the environment, some fear that such schemes could one day become mandatory and place limits on purchases of customers who exceed their 'carbon allowance.'

As we previously highlighted, allied with climate lockdowns, technocrats want to exploit hysteria over climate change to increase financial control over individuals.

Such a proposal was presented in the science journal Nature by four environmental "experts" as a means of reducing global carbon emissions.

Everyone would be issued with a 'carbon allowance card' "that would entail all adults receiving an equal tradable carbon allowance that reduces over time in line with national carbon targets."

The authors make it clear that the program would be a "national mandatory policy."

Carbon units would be "deducted from the personal budget with every payment of transport fuel, home-heating fuels and electricity bills," and anyone going over the limit would be forced to purchase additional units in the personal carbon market from those with excess to sell."

Of course, the wealthy would be easily able to afford the offsets, and many of them are directly invested in the trading mechanisms that the scheme would be based on.

The proposal makes clear that the means of measuring a person's uptake of carbon units for travel would function "on the basis of the tracking the user's movement history."

The authors note that mass compliance with COVID-19 lockdown regulations has greased the skids for further intrusive tyranny and that, "people may be more prepared to accept the tracking and limitations related to PCAs to achieve a safer climate" as a result.

Ouch.

Meanwhile, France has decided to completely ban certain short-haul flights in an attempt to reduce carbon emissions...

France can now make you train rather than plane.

The European Commission (EC) has given French officials the green light to ban select domestic flights if the route in question can be completed via train in under two and a half hours.

The plan was first proposed in 2021 as a means to reduce carbon emissions. It originally called for a ban on eight short-haul flights, but the EC has only agreed to nix three that have quick, easy rail alternatives with several direct connections each way every day.

This is nuts.

But if the French public accepts these new restrictions, similar bans will inevitably be coming to other EU nations.

In the Netherlands, the government is actually going to be buying and shutting down approximately 3,000 farms in order to "reduce its nitrogen pollution"...

The Dutch government is planning to purchase and then close down up to 3,000 farms in an effort to comply with a European Union environmental mandate to slash emissions, according to reports.

Farmers in the Netherlands will be offered "well over" the worth of their farm in an effort to take up the offer voluntarily, The Telegraph reported. The country is attempting to reduce its nitrogen pollution and will make the purchases if not enough farmers accept buyouts.

"There is no better offer coming," Christianne van der Wal, nitrogen minister, told the Dutch parliament on Friday.

This is literally suicidal.

We are in the beginning stages of an unprecedented global food crisis, and the Dutch government has decided that now is the time to shut down thousands of farms?

I don't even have the words to describe how foolish this is.

Speaking of suicide, Canada has found a way to get people to stop emitting any carbon at all once their usefulness is over.  Assisted suicide has become quite popular among the Canadians, and the number of people choosing that option keeps setting new records year after year...

Last year, more than 10,000 people in Canada - astonishingly that's over three percent of all deaths there - ended their lives via euthanasia, an increase of a third on the previous year. And it's likely to keep rising: next year, Canada is set to allow people to die exclusively for mental health reasons.

If you are feeling depressed, Canada has a solution for that.

And if you are physically disabled, Canada has a solution for that too...

Only last week, a jaw-dropping story emerged of how, five years into an infuriating battle to obtain a stairlift for her home, Canadian army veteran and Paralympian Christine Gauthier was offered an extraordinary alternative.

A Canadian official told her in 2019 that if her life was so difficult and she so 'desperate', the government would help her to kill herself. 'I have a letter saying that if you're so desperate, madam, we can offer you MAiD, medical assistance in dying,' the paraplegic ex-army corporal testified to Canadian MPs.

"Medical assistance in dying" sounds so clinical.

But ultimately it is the greatest lockdown of all.

Because once you stop breathing, you won't be able to commit any more "climate sins".

All over the western world, authoritarianism is growing at a pace that is absolutely breathtaking.

If they can severely restrict travel and shut down farms today, what sort of tyranny will we see in the future?

Sadly, most people in the general population still do not understand what is happening.

Hopefully they will wake up before it is too late.

More Professing Atheists & Humanists Legislating Morality From Public Office

Atheism and humanism are on the rise, as the number of elected members filling state and federal seats who profess no belief in God increases from only five before 2016, to upward of 70 after the most recent election cycle -- a sharp shift from the Judeo-Christian values that have defined America since its founding. 

The Center for Freethought Equality (CFE) sees this increase as progress towards a "safer, saner, stronger, and more secular America," celebrating "continued gains for the humanist and atheist community in the electoral arena."

Atheism "rejects the existence of God or any gods." Humanism "is a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism or other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good," or simply put, in the American Humanist Association's tagline, the belief that "Good Without God," is achievable.

The CFE recently highlighted newly elected representatives and senators in state legislatures across the country, as well as Eric Sorensen, a "spiritual but not religious" Democrat from Illinois elected to Congress in November. On Capitol Hill, the Democratic Congressional Freethought Caucus seeks to promote secularism through their representation and legislation, touting "separation of church and state."

By the end of the 117th Congress, 88% of members now identify as "Christians," and 8% identify with other religions or "other," Pew Research finds. As for the rest of America, the numbers show that more than 70% identify with the Christian faith, nearly 6% with a non-Christian faith, and a rapidly rising 22% in the "religious nones" category.

FRC's senior fellow for the Center for Biblical Worldview Joseph Backholm argues that the increase in atheists and humanists elected to public office is nothing new. "This dramatically understates the reality," he told The Washington Stand. "This might be a rise in people who profess to be atheists or humanists. But in reality, you've had thousands of state legislators and legislatures governing like atheists and humanists for a very long time."

Despite the number of legislators that claim Christianity, Backholm says these figures are deceptive from a worldview standpoint. "The value system that atheists propose is that there is no truth outside of ourselves," he continued to TWS. "We are left to our own minds to determine what is right and wrong and what the best thing is to do. 

There are tens of millions of people in America who would check the box of being some kind of a religion, but that's exactly how they live their life. And there are thousands who govern in precisely that way. So, I would argue that more than half of the people within a religious affiliation in Congress govern, think, and live exactly the same way that humanists do."

Everyone operates from their worldview, according to Backholm, who maintains that "there's no such thing as a moral vacuum." And, as more professing atheists and humanists take leadership positions in America, Backholm says people can expect them to legislate accordingly. "Humanism is just a different kind of religion. It starts with the assumptions that we are in charge of ourselves ... and so we give ourselves meaning ... and that is a set of assumptions that leads them to believe a whole range of things about economic policy, civil rights, and the morality of particular laws."

While humanists insist that law and morality can remain mutually exclusive, Backholm argues that every lawmaker legislates morality according to their respective worldview. "Every humanist is trying to legislate morality. They just get their morality from Freud or Oprah or TikTok or elsewhere; religious people get their morality from their religion from the Koran or from the Bible or from the Torah. So everybody has a very clear sense of right and wrong. ... We have different backgrounds, and we have different beliefs, but everyone is legislating morality."

Backholm says that the Democratic Party is already reflecting atheistic and humanistic values in their policies. "They have already enthusiastically and holistically embraced all the ordinary assumptions of humanism and secularism, which is we are in control... accountable, and responsible, to no one other than ourselves, where doing what makes you happy is the path to happiness. ... Those are the fundamental assumptions of everything that they've been trying to do for a generation. 

That's the founding assumptions of the abortion movement, trans movement, same-sex marriage movement -- the idea that the planet is what is good and we are the problem ... as opposed to the biblical idea that we are the crown of God's creation and intended to rule and subdue the earth that He gave to us for our blessing. Everything that God said is good."

In the United Kingdom, Christianity has already become a minority religion, with a third of people now falling into the "religious nones" category. As for America, Backholm told TWS that humanity follows a well-worn cycle that repeats itself. 

"We see the nation of Israel go through this dozens of times throughout the Old Testament where they have brief moments of prosperity because of their obedience to God, and then they get comfortable in their prosperity and they end up rebelling, rejecting God, and suffering the consequences of that," he explained. 

"This is an old story that always ends up the same, where you end up destroying yourself because of your rebellion, then you get desperate enough to return back to God, then things get better. And that is how the story inevitably ends until Jesus comes back and fixes it all."

As America drifts in the direction of the U.K.'s trajectory, bending towards atheistic and humanistic ideologies, Backholm says there is one thing Christians in America can know for sure. "The founding principles of humanism will never be proven to be true because they violate the very truths that God has built into nature," he told TWS.

Digital Currency Sooner Than You Think - 90% Of Central Banks Getting Ready

Central bankers and international corporate financiers have long been pretending to hate the very concept of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, while at the same time investing heavily in blockchain technologies and infrastructure.  

The purpose of the ruse is not clear, but more than likely it was an attempt at mass reverse psychology - "We don't like crypto and digital currencies because we supposedly have no control over them; free market proponents should embrace them blindly because that is how you will beat us."

In the meantime, while major banking firms are investing billions into various blockchain products, central banks and global institutions like the BIS and IMF have been developing their own systems.  In fact, the BIS notes with enthusiasm that around 90% of central banks around the world are already in the process of adopting CBDCs.

But why would anyone want to use government and establishment bank-controlled cryptocurrencies when they have access to Bitcoin and dozens of other coins that are supposedly independent?  Why trade freedom for more centralization?

First, existing cryptocurrencies are not as free as many people believe, with ample government tracking of blockchain transactions in place for years, the notion of the completely anonymous crypto user is a bit of a fantasy, and the idea that a product such as Bitcoin is going to "bring down" the central banks is becoming less realistic by the year.

Second, the crypto market is highly unstable, in part because it is still very limited.  While crypto use in America is higher than most other countries with around 12% of people using it as an investment (not as a currency), the rest of the world is mostly uninterested with an estimated global footprint of around 4%.  Of that 4% only a handful of people actually own the majority of the market; these people are known as "whales" and they have the ability to tip the market up or down with little effort.

This happens in many other trade commodities and paper currencies also.  The point is, crypto is not immune to manipulation.

Third, crypto is enticing to people because of the quick profits that can be had, but massive losses are also a danger.  The overall crypto market has plunged by $2 trillion in the past year alone - over 60% of its value.  The implosion of huge trading companies like FTX also undermines the stability of the market, and usually it's the average investor that ends up suffering the consequences.

All of these factors and more can be used by banking elites as a rationale for the implementation of CBDCs and global regulation of crypto trading.  And, if the bloodbath in existing coins continues, people may even welcome CBDCs as a "safe" investment or currency system.

The investment losses in blockchain products, along with the scandals in exchanges, is a rather convenient opportunity for the banking establishment to promote their own currencies as a replacement.  In the wake of the FTX event, multiple international banks including JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have called for government regulation and a shift over to CBDCs.

The US House has scheduled hearings on FTX with an emphasis on regulation.  In Europe, globalist Christine Lagarde and the ECB are calling for global cooperation on monitoring and controlling cryptocurrencies.  Lagarde wants a "digital Euro" to take the place of existing coins and blames FTX and the larger market losses on lack of oversight.

Numerous crypto analysts are also demanding regulation, calling crypto "broken and useless" until governments step in to mediate (control) trade.  This is the exact opposite of what crypto activists originally intended over a decade ago when Bitcoin was in its infancy, and digital trade back then was sold as some kind of revolution against the banking oligarchy.  However, it's easy to see where this is all going.

It means even more pervasive centralization.  With paper currencies at least there is true anonymity, but with CBDCs the existence of the blockchain ledger precludes any and all privacy in trade.  

Not only that, but the institutional ability to cut off people from their wealth and economic access is going to be profound.  If you think corporate- and government-led cancel culture is bad now, just wait until they can freeze your digital accounts at a moment's notice because of something you said on social media.  And, in a cashless society there are few alternatives beyond some kind of black market.

CBDCs mean the total death of any economic freedom the public has left, and central banks are exploiting disasters like FTX to make that death happen even faster.

Many people say that today is no different than any other time in history. "Sure, things look bad now, but this was also the case during World Wars I and II. Things have a way of working out so that things eventually return to some semblance of normal."

I understand why many question Jesus' soon return given the fact that it's been two thousand years since He promised to return.

In spite of the long wait, I'm convinced that Jesus' appearing is imminent because of the myriad of signs telling us that the Tribulation period is right on our doorstep.

I have compiled a list of 12 signs that tell us we are rapidly running out of normal.

If you are weary of waiting and long for the day when you will meet Jesus in the air, I am writing to encourage you; He's coming soon.

If you doubt that the Rapture will happen anytime soon, please take some time to review the following points:

1. ISRAEL'S MIRACULOUS REBIRTH AS A NATION

Did you know that Isaac Newton predicted that Israel would reappear as a nation? Based on his in-depth study of the books of Daniel and Revelation, he made that startling prediction over 250 years before it happened.

Newton correctly recognized that the fulfillment of biblical end times prophecies requires Israel's renewed existence. He also wrote that Israel would build a third temple once it became a nation.

On May 14, 1948, Israel miraculously became a nation again. The amazing rebirth of Israel fulfilled the words of Isaiah 66:8, which predicted that it would happen in a "day." Only God could resurrect a nation that had not existed for two-thousand years, supernaturally protect it amid countless wars, and bring it to a place of prosperity such as Israel enjoys today. 

Did I mention that only God could do such a thing?

Israel's remarkable rebirth makes today different than any time previous to May 1948.

2. THIRD TEMPLE FEVER

Scripture tells us that the antichrist will defile a still future Jewish temple (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). In a recent article, The Biblical Necessity of a Third Jewish Temple, I demonstrate why the building of the third Jewish temple is a necessity for the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

If we can trust the words of Scripture, there must be a third temple in Jerusalem by the midpoint of the coming seven-year Tribulation. That's when the Bible says the antichrist will desecrate it. Do we see evidence today that this will happen? Absolutely!

Just ten years ago, few people could have imagined today's passion in Israel for the building of their temple. Did you catch the celebration in Jerusalem when the five perfect red heifers arrived there from Texas? The Law requires one perfect red heifer for the purification of the temple and its priests.

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has spent over thirty years researching and preparing furnishings for the third temple. They are currently training Levites to serve as priests in it.

The Israeli government is planning infrastructure for the coming temple, which includes a train that will run from the Ben Gurion Airport to the temple mount as they expect a great many visitors will want to visit the new temple. Israel plans to complete this rail system in April of 2023. 

This alone makes 2022-2023 far, far different.

3. KICKING AND READY

In October, I wrote Globalism, War, Economic Turmoil, Devaluing Human Life -- The Day of The Lord Is Looming. In it, I provided evidence for just how close the world is to the conditions described in Revelation 6:1-8. These verses describe what's commonly referred to as the "four riders of the Apocalypse." They are kicking in their stall, ready to start their trek across the planet.

Revelation 6:8 says that the death toll from the chaos caused by these riders will total one-fourth of the world's population, which today would be two billion people.

World events today demonstrate just how easily the seal judgments could result in such a high death toll.

4. DIGITAL CURRENCY

If people can buy and sell goods on a cash basis, it would be impossible for the antichrist to control commerce in the way that Revelation 13:16-18 predicts.

The fulfillment of this prophecy requires the elimination of cash, and that is precisely what we see in our world.

The New York Federal Reserve in the U.S. recently began a twelve-week pilot program evaluating the use of a digital dollar using credit card companies and global banks. Leo Hohmann, a blogger, author, and investigative reporter, wrote this about the coming digital currency:

"I believe the new Central Bank Digital Currency, or CBDCs, will make their debut in 2023. And this digital currency will tie in directly with the digital health certificates on people's cellphones in what will become a personal dossier on every individual, tracking and monitoring their movements and behaviors."

The normality of using cash for purchases is slipping away and with it any privacy regarding our finances. The digital currency will enable governments to monitor how we spend our money and soon after that, they will control it. 

Both India and China are rapidly moving toward a digital currency.

5. DIGITAL HEALTH PASSPORTS

At the November 2022 meeting of G20 nations in Indonesia, leaders of the largest economies in the world agreed to work together to implement a "digital health passport" that will begin by tracking everyone's vaccine status and expand from there.

This is also an absolute necessity for what the antichrist has planned for the latter half of the Tribulation. His system must instantly recognize whether one truly has his mark on them, and it will.

Below is the path that elite powerbrokers of our world have laid out for the future:

Eliminate cash through a worldwide digital currency

Combine one's online identity for banking with a digital health passport

Monitor all spending, which is simple with the coming Central Bank Digital Currency

Reward or punish people based on their spending habits

Totally control all spending

Implement what we refer to as the mark of the beast (Revelation 13)

We already see many of these things in China.

6. MARK OF THE BEAST TECHNOLOGY

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, along with the development of gigantic computer databases, also makes today unique from any other previous time in history.

Prior to these technical advances of the past dozen years or so, the antichrist would have needed an exceedingly large number of people in every nation on earth in order to enforce the requirement of his mark for all buying and selling. It would have been impossible.

Now, with recent advances in AI and the 5G global network, the technology exists for one person to set the parameters and thus control commerce everywhere in the world. These technical innovations not only make the fulfillment of Revelation 13:16-18 possible, but also increasingly likely when one considers the agenda of the globalists!

7. IS IT REALLY HUMAN?

How will the coming man of lawlessness exercise the complete control over the earth's population such as we see in Revelation 13 and elsewhere in Scripture? The answer is transhumanism. 

Transhumanism is the combination of humans with machines and it's not only something that the antichrist needs, but it's also a high priority of the WEF and all the many nations that are now committed to its Great Reset.

Did you know that Joe Biden recently signed an executive order requiring Americans to comply with the push for transhumanism?

Transhumanism is a necessary for controlling people in the coming kingdom of the antichrist.

8. THE SOON ARRIVAL OF ONE-WORLD GOVERNANCE

The books of Daniel and Revelation predict that in the last days a worldwide government will exist and that for a short time, the antichrist will rule over it (Daniel 7:23-25 8:18-26; Revelation 13:1-18).

The UN's Agenda 2030 is all about establishing a global governance by 2030 if not well before that year. The Great Reset of the World Economic Forum (WEF), also known as Build Back Better, is the economic companion of Agenda 2030 and both groups have united in their push to establish a one world government. 

The rapidly forming one-world government only remains a secret to those who don't want to believe that it's happening.

9. THE WORSHIP OF CREATION RATHER THAN THE CREATOR

In the book of Revelation, we see the presence of a one-world religion under the leadership of the false prophet. 

Do we see the rise of such a unified religion today? Absolutely! The stage is fully prepared.

In November 2022, religious leaders from all over the world reenacted the giving of the Ten Commandments. However, the top ten things on their minds consisted of worshipping nature, that of preserving their god. Combating climate change has become the religion bringing together many diverse faiths as they worship the creation rather than the Creator.

10. WHEN THE WORLD WOBBLES

Since 2001, the earth's magnetic north pole has been moving. An article on the Forbes Magazine website, Earth's Magnetic North Pole Is Shifting Dramatically From A Powerful Tug Of War, discussed how this shift has speeded up in recent years. 

Why do I include this in the list of 12 signs? It's because of warnings of what happens when the pole shift may reach forty degrees. That's the point at which the north and south poles will swap places. 

What's so significant about this?

The Bible tells us that during the Tribulation period, the world will wobble (see Isaiah 24:19-20 and Revelation 6:12-17). I find it more than a little curious that what many predict will happen at the time of the pole shift matches what these prophetic passages say will happen during the Day of the Lord. It's much more than a coincidence.

11. YOU DON'T REALLY BELIEVE THAT DO YOU?

2 Peter 3:2-4 says that scoffers will arise in the "last days" that will mock our hope in Jesus' soon return. Jude 17-18 also warns of "scoffers" that will come in the last days that will ridicule our hope.

This time has surely arrived! 

It's commonplace today for people to mock our hope in Jesus' soon appearing. Sadly, even believers and leaders of churches have also joined the chorus of naysayers.

It's because of this mocking that I included two chapters on church history in my book, The Triumph of the Redeemed. Scoffers today use the relative newness of the word "Rapture" to reject the event that Paul describes for us in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11, and Titus 2:11-14. It's as if the term itself discredits the words of the apostle in these passages. 

Such mocking is all about Satan deceiving people into believing that there's no such event as Jesus' appearing to take His church to glory. Don't fall for his lie.

12. PERILOUS TIMES ON STERIODS ARE HERE

We live during a time of perilous times on steroids. While the characteristics of this that Paul lists in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 have always been evident in some ways since the time he wrote, they now define our world just as the apostle said they would in the last days.

More than at any previous time, we see these nineteen characteristics abounding throughout the world. This is something I have written about many times.

RUNNING OUT OF THE OLD NORMAL MEANS THAT JESUS' GLORIOUS NEW NORMAL IS EVER SO CLOSE

Just as with King Belshazzar of Babylon, the handwriting is on the wall (see Daniel 5). Perhaps the end will not come as swiftly as it did for this ancient king (the Medes and Persians killed him just hours after Daniel interpreted God's message). The signs, however, reveal that God's judgment will soon fall on this world. After the Rapture of the church, God's wrath will devastate the world.

The good news is that the glorious new normal that Jesus is bringing will last forever.

When Jesus returns and reigns over the earth from Jerusalem, we will experience life in a glorious kingdom as we reign with Him for a thousand years. This will be a "new normal" worth celebrating (and we surely will), but the future is even brighter and more joyous! Revelation 21-22 describes the most blissful set of circumstances imaginable. 

Refuse to be satisfied with the fake "new normal" that the world offers. Once we meet Jesus in the air and return to glory with Him, what we see then will make our very best days in this life seem mundane and boring.

Waiting In The Wings For An Economic Collapse - The Digital Dollar

Are you ready for the government to monitor what you buy and sell on a daily basis?  Because that is what could happen if you start using the new "digital dollar" that they are now testing.  
Of course using the new "digital dollar" would be voluntary at first, but what if it eventually becomes mandatory?  

The use of physical currency continues to decline year after year, and some governments in Europe have already taken radical measures to phase out the use of cash.  Many among the elite consider digital currencies to be the key to a whole new era of strict governmental control over the way that we live our lives, and there would be so much potential for abuse.

On Tuesday, an extremely ambitious 12 week test of the "digital dollar" was publicly announced.  As you can see, some of the biggest companies in the financial world are participating...

Global banking giants are starting a 12-week digital dollar pilot with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the participants announced on Tuesday.

Citigroup Inc, HSBC Holdings Plc, Mastercard Inc and Wells Fargo & Co are among the financial companies participating in the experiment alongside the New York Fed's innovation center, they said in a statement. The project, which is called the regulated liability network, will be conducted in a test environment and use simulated data, the New York Fed said.

When asked about his firm's participation in the project, a Citigroup executive sounded very enthusiastic...

"Programmable US dollars may be necessary to support new business models and provide a foundation to much-needed innovations in financial settlements and infrastructure," Tony McLaughlin, managing director for emerging payments and business development at Citigroup's treasury and trade solutions division, said in a statement. "Projects like this, that focus on the digitization of central bank money and individual bank deposits, could be expanded to take a broader view of the opportunity."

This is something that the Federal Reserve has been working on for a long time.

Back in January, the Fed released a "much-anticipated discussion paper" on the possibility of a "digital dollar", and they invited the public to comment on the paper for four months...
In January, the Fed took a first step toward weighing the use of a central bank digital currency when it released its much-anticipated discussion paper and opened a four-month public comment period to receive input.

The paper said that a CBDC could streamline cross-border payments and could further enshrine and preserve the dominance of the dollar's international role, including as the world's reserve currency
Obviously the Fed did not meet with too much resistance during that stage, and so now they are moving on to fully testing the "digital dollar" that they have come up with.
The fact that they are going to spend an enormous amount of time, money and energy testing this new "digital dollar" strongly indicates that they already have plans to introduce it.

The "digital dollar" would be very similar to Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies.

But instead of a decentralized system, the government would control the currency and would have the ability to track every single transaction.

And as Michael Maharrey of Schiff Gold has noted, there would even be the potential for the government to "turn off" the ability of certain individuals to make purchases...

Imagine if there was no cash. It would be impossible to hide even the smallest transaction from government eyes. Something as simple as your morning trip to Starbucks wouldn't be a secret from government officials. As Bloomberg put it in an article published when China launched its digital yuan pilot program, digital currency "offers China's authorities a degree of control never possible with physical money."

The government could even "turn off" an individual's ability to make purchases.

We don't want the government to have that much power over our lives.

Thankfully, some members of Congress are sounding the alarm.  In fact, Senator James Lankford has actually introduced a bill "which would require the U.S. Treasury to keep printing and coining money if the government issues an official digital currency"...

On September 29, Republican Senator James Lankford introduced the No Digital Dollar Act, which would require the U.S. Treasury to keep printing and coining money if the government issues an official digital currency.

Lankford said in a news release: "While some Oklahomans are open to digital currencies, many still prefer hard currency or at least the option of hard currency. There are still questions, cyber concerns, and security risks for digital money. There is no reason we can't continue to have paper and digital money in our nation and allow the American people to decide how to carry and spend their own money. As technology advances, Americans should not have to worry about every transaction in their financial life being tracked or their money being deleted."

Unfortunately, that sort of a bill is extremely unlikely to get through Congress.

Most of our leaders seem quite eager to explore the "possibilities" of implementing such a system.
And as we have seen over the past few years, those with authoritarian tendencies are not afraid to push the envelope to frightening extremes.
In an article for MaineWire, Steve Robinson listed several hypothetical scenarios that we could potentially see if a "digital dollar" starts being used on a widespread basis...
1.) To protest governmental limits on personal freedom, liberty activists stage a peaceful protest around the nation's capital. That nation's leader, wanting to quell the protest and protect his power, instructs his Minister of Economic Control to reduce the protesters' CBDC balances by 50 percent everyday until the protest ends. The protest ends shortly after the message pings on the CBDC smartphone app.
2.) Economic growth is lagging, and the economists in the federal government suspect it is because consumer spending isn't strong enough. People are saving their money, rather than spending it. To fix this problem, the Ministry of Economic Control announces a new year-long negative interest rate for all CBDC accounts. Unspent balances of CBDC will be reduced by 10 percent every month. As a result, no one saves, every one spends, and the economists have saved the economy.
3.) You're at the grocery store picking up some ribeye steaks because some friends are coming over for a barbecue. When you get up to the counter, there's a problem. The cashier says the payment isn't going through. You check the CBDC app on your smartphone. There is an alert: "You have exceeded your monthly carbon credit usage; please remove the following items from your grocery cart in order to proceed..."
4.) You want to pick up a new firearm for hunting season, so you swing by the local sporting goods store. But when you go to transfer CBDC credits for the purchase, you're denied. The trusty CBDC app explains: "We've detected activity on your social media accounts that suggests you are at risk of causing harm to yourself or others. You are prohibited from purchasing a firearm for one year."

Once we open the door to this sort of tyranny, there is no telling where it could potentially end.

So we should strongly denounce all efforts to introduce a "digital dollar" while we still have the opportunity to do so.

Unfortunately, most of the population is still deep in a state of sleep, and so the elite are moving their agenda forward very rapidly.

Will An Economic Pearl Harbor Destroy America?

On December 7, 1941, Japan caught America by surprise when it attacked the U.S. naval base in Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. Japan sought to destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Fortunately, that attack didn't destroy the United States. But the future may not be so kind. Why? 

Because the U.S. is setting itself up for a modern day Pearl Harbor - one from which it will never recover. And it won't be the result of a military strike. It will be the result of an economic one. To understand what's coming (this attack is already underway), we need to understand our history.

The Bretton Woods System

In 1944, the Bretton Woods Agreement established the financial rules and monetary system governing western nations. The system required participating nations to guarantee convertibility of their currencies into U.S. dollars at a fixed rate with the dollar convertible to gold by foreign governments. This essentially put the world on a type of gold standard via the U.S. dollar.

This system served the world well until the late-1960's, when it became clear the United States was printing dollars without the gold needed to back up those dollars. Out-of-control government spending via a host of new government social programs and the war in Vietnam threatened to deplete U.S. gold stockpiles. 

So on August 15, 1971, President Nixon "temporarily" closed the gold window (it's never been reopened) - terminating the convertibility of dollars into gold. This made the dollar a fiat currency, meaning it wasn't backed by anything of value. To prevent runaway inflation, the United States brokered a deal with Saudi Arabia which effectively set up a new world monetary system.

The Petro-Dollar System

Following the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the United States found itself the target of an OPEC oil embargo as a result of the military aid it provided to Israel. Oil prices quadrupled. With the dollar no longer tied to gold, inflation soared as the U.S. continued to run annual budget deficits. 

Facing these headwinds, in 1974 the U.S. brokered a deal with Saudi Arabia to stabilize the dollar. The U.S. agreed to buy oil from Saudi Arabia and defend the kingdom militarily, while also providing military aid and equipment. In return, Saudi Arabia (and the rest of OPEC) agreed to sell oil only in U.S. dollars and use those dollars to buy U.S. debt, effectively supporting both the dollar and U.S. deficit spending.

For nearly five decades, the U.S.-Saudi relationship held up well. The United States successfully defended Saudi Arabia in Operation Desert Shield in 1990-1991, and Saudi Arabia continued to sell oil in dollars. But in recent years, the U.S.-Saudi relationship has started to fray, and over the past 18 months, it's all but fallen apart. That means the days are numbered for what remains of the petro-dollar system.

A Critical Turning Point: August 2021

Exactly fifty years to the day from when Nixon closed the gold window, the Taliban entered Kabul and the Afghan president fled the country. In hindsight, this event struck a fatal blow to the petro-dollar system. The petro-dollar is still alive, but it won't last much longer. Why?

The U.S. abandoned its allies. It left Americans behind enemy lines and allowed those who assisted America to fall into the tortuous hands of the Taliban. In the face of such a betrayal, is it any surprise Saudi Arabia might begin to question U.S. commitment to its security? The U.S. showed itself to be an unreliable partner. Russia was quick to capitalize. Unnoticed by many in the western media, Russia brokered its own security deal with Saudi Arabia, undermining the petro-dollar and threatening its future.

The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Fast forward to February 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine. In response, the U.S. and its allies imposed sanctions on Russia, froze Russian assets, and kicked Russian banks out of the international financial messaging system, SWIFT. This served as a major wake-up call to the nations of the world. 

Just as America's abandonment of Afghanistan made every nation question America's commitment to its allies, U.S. actions against Russia made the nations of the world realize what would happen if they ended up on America's "bad list." They now understand the risk of holding too many U.S. treasuries or of being too reliant on an international financial system dominated by the U.S. dollar. The result? These nations are now willing to explore (if not actively seek) an alternative to the dollar.

BRICS

In 2006, Brazil, Russia, India, and China (the BRIC nations) held the first BRIC Summit. The goal was to increase cooperation and explore opportunities for economic growth between these growing nations. In 2010, South Africa joined, and the coalition took on the moniker BRICS. Since then, BRICS has worked to create an alternative to the SWIFT payment system as well as a commodity-backed currency to challenge the U.S. dollar. 

As 2022 draws to a close, a host of additional nations have expressed interest in joining the BRICS coalition. Among them are some of the most important producers of oil and natural gas - Nigeria, Iran, Argentina, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia. The latest nation to express interest? Saudi Arabia.

The Coming Destruction of the U.S. Dollar

If BRICS creates its own commodity-backed currency as an alternative to the U.S. dollar, and all the nations expressing interest join BRICS, it will destroy the dollar. Those nations represent over 50% of the world's population and an even larger share of the world's commodity production. If oil starts trading in other currencies... If the dollar loses its reserve currency status... If international trade is conducted in fewer and fewer dollars - meaning demand for dollars drops while supply remains the same - then a flood of dollars will return to the United States. 

This will cause massive inflation, a collapse in confidence in the U.S. dollar, and major destruction throughout the American economy. Interest rates will skyrocket, and the four pillars of American wealth - stocks, bonds, dollars, and real estate - will collapse in real terms. The U.S. will no longer be the world's financial center. Its power will erode significantly.

CBCDs

Then what? Once the petro-dollar ends, and the dollar experiences massive inflation or even hyperinflation, a new monetary system will have to take its place. Will it be the new BRICS currency or something else? We don't know for sure. But in all likelihood, it will be built on blockchain. 

Many believe if BRICS creates a new commodity-backed currency, that currency won't be convertible into the underlying commodity. Instead, the commodities will be pledged and anchored to the new currency via blockchain technology. Meanwhile, central banks openly discuss their plans to replace today's national currencies with central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). 

Either way, a "great reset" is coming to the global financial system, and digital currencies will take over. When they do, government will wield unprecedented power. With such power, not only will government be able to track everything you buy or sell, it will be able to kick you out of the economic system - just as the Bible says.

What's Coming to the World

When government-sponsored cryptocurrencies replace paper currencies, individual freedom and liberty will disappear. Governments will be able to "turn off" your cryptocurrency or reprogram it to determine how you can use it. For instance, if your social credit score isn't high enough, they can reprogram the currency in your account to only work within five miles of your home or limit it to the purchase of specific "pre-approved" items. 

Ultimately, if you do something the government doesn't approve of, they'll be able to shut down your ability to buy and sell all together. The Canadian government already showed its willingness to do this when it cut off financial access to anyone who supported the Canadian trucker protest. 

The Bible says this is precisely what will happen in the end times. The Antichrist will establish a global system of commerce. His system will play a part in every economic transaction on earth. It will be so dominant, no one will be able to buy or sell anything without the Antichrist's approval (Revelation 13:17). 

Does this sound like something far off in the future? It's not. It's fast approaching. We see the foundations of the Antichrist's economic system coming into place today. The U.S. dollar will soon lose its status as the world's reserve currency, and the world will be one step closer to the mark of the beast system.

It's yet another sign we live in the season of the Lord's return. We just experienced a global pandemic (Luke 21:11). A global famine is on the horizon (Matthew 24:7). Israel is back in the land (Jeremiah 23:7-8). The Jewish people are back in Jerusalem (Luke 21:24-28). And the Gospel is being preached throughout the world (Matthew 24:14). 

Make no mistake. The tribulation, the Antichrist, and global government are part of the world's immediate future. But don't despair, this also means the return of Jesus is part of our immediate future (Revelation 22:20). And His is an everlasting kingdom (Daniel 2:44) with no more death or crying or pain (Revelation 21:4). So keep your eyes fixed on Him!
