Called the Iron Beam, the system is designed to neutralize a range of incoming targets — including unmanned aerial systems, rockets, artillery and mortar rounds — using a 100-kilowatt or more directed energy weapon, said Ran Gozali, executive vice president of Rafael’s land and naval division.

“We actually can focus the beam to the diameter of a coin in a 10-kilometer range,” Gozali said on the sidelines of the International Defence Exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The trade show was the first time that Rafael unveiled a full-scale model of the Iron Beam.

The Iron Beam system will be a game changer, especially for longe range missiles from Iran and her proxies.

However, the best defense is a great offense. We are still waiting for the right leadership that will allow the IDF to go on the offensive and put a total end to the terror war from all terror factions in Gaza.

After Arab terrorists fired 449 rockets into Israel, the IDF struck back heavily at Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.
Today’s rocket barrages targeted Tel Aviv and for the first time, Israel used David’s Sling operationally – successfully. While there is a tense calm, fighting is expected to continue with even Hamas prepared to join the fighting if need be.

As many surveys have shown, Americans tend to have warm feelings toward Jews. But that’s gotten lost in our relentless campaign to expose hate.

(JNS) Good news is boring. If you want excitement, it’s best to focus on things like danger. Media mavens and fundraisers know this: Danger rivets the mind, pumps up the heart and opens pockets.

We see this in the drama surrounding antisemitism. News of a swastika sprayed on a synagogue wall will get breathless coverage and quickly spread through social media. All told, enormous resources and countless initiatives and organizations are now devoted to exposing and fighting this Jew hatred wherever and whenever it rears its head.

Without blinking an eye, we have routinely assumed that the more we expose and fight this hate, the more we will reduce it.

But what if the opposite were true? What if the more we fight and expose the hate, the more we increase it? After all, isn’t that what has happened in recent years? We’ve doubled down and tripled down on our fight and all we hear is that antisemitism is “worse than ever.”

That phrase—worse than ever—is the lifeblood of activism and click-hungry media outlets. It embodies a crisis mentality that animates and energizes both donors and readers.

“People hate Jews” is a lot more attention-getting and lucrative than “people love Jews.”

But how accurate is it?

One of the fallouts of focusing so much on the hate is that it can distort reality, making the problem seem worse than it is. And since people tend to believe the old adage that there’s “no smoke without fire,” our crisis mentality runs the risk of actually encouraging more hatred. (Why do so many people hate Jews? Am I missing something? Should I hate them too?)

So, here’s a thought: What if we turned the tables on “no smoke without fire” and replaced the smoke of hate with the sunshine of affection? In other words, instead of focusing so much on exposing those who hate Jews, how about exposing those who love Jews?

It’s not as if they don’t exist. As many surveys have shown, Americans tend to have warm feelings toward Jews. In fact, in a 2019 Pew survey, Jews were the most liked religious group in America. The study also found that the more Americans knew about Judaism, the more they liked Jews.

That pro-Jewish vibe, unfortunately, has gotten lost in our relentless campaign to expose any sign of hate against Jews. I often wonder if some of those haters ever look at how hysterical Jews can get and tell themselves: “We have them on the run—we’re winning!”

The point is not to stop fighting hate but to shift where we make the most noise. We can fight haters efficiently and legally, as when we push for the IHRA definition of antisemitism, without giving haters the attention they crave. Meanwhile, since we know that Americans already have warm feelings toward Jews and Judaism, why not build on those good feelings?

For example, at a time when loneliness and isolation have reached alarming levels, why not share the human connection of Shabbat with our fellow Americans? Just as everyone loves Thanksgiving, why not promote a weekly “Friday night of gratitude” that will encourage Americans of all stripes to partake in this invaluable Jewish ritual?

There are many other such ideas. The point is to inject more positivity in our conversation with America. We can’t allow complaining about Jew hatred to become our #1 talking point. That can backfire simply because people don’t like complainers. Jews should aim higher than that. The mantra of “ending hatred” may make us feel good, but it’s both a utopian fantasy and a low bar. It feels limiting to tell Americans that our main concern is to “end” something. Isn’t the Jewish way more about starting great things?

“Don’t hate us” is like saying “leave us alone,” as if all we want is to stay in our corners and not engage. But Americans have had warm feelings toward Jews precisely because we love to engage and give back.

Indeed, we’ve given back so much to America because we’re not a minority group that worries only about its own interests. We want what’s best for the Jews, yes, but also what’s best for America.

Our obsessive focus with “ending Jew hatred” risks undermining that altruistic bond. We know that Jew haters (and all haters, for that matter) will never go away. We also know that plenty of Americans have had many reasons to love and admire Jews. In the long run, putting “love of Jews” in the air could well become the smartest way to counter antisemitism and isolate the haters.

It may not be as exciting as yelling danger, but if we’re serious about winning the fight, let’s not rule out the more positive approach—even if it means having to read the occasional boring column.

Last week there was a fascinating Twitter thread/replies by Jason Greenblatt with a comprehensive explanation on international law & international consensus with regards to global conflicts and specifically #Israel.

Democratic congressman Steny Hoyer told reporters in a press conference held in Jerusalem that “Our country is committed to what the UN charter says – that people cannot take land or other countries by force.”

The comment drew criticism from Lara Friedman, the founder of the Foundation for Middle East Peace, who tweeted “Just wow – you can’t parody this stuff.”

Jason Greenblatt, a former White House envoy to the Middle East, took to Twitter to answer Friedman: “I assume your comment is intended to imply that Israel took land (or a country) by force. Whose land (or country) are you suggesting Israel took by force? I’m not asking about fake, meaningless & politically motivated UN, international law” or “international consensus” statements, none of which actually mean anything with regard to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I’m asking for historical fact. Whose land or country? If you answer Palestinian or Palestine (which I assume you will), please explain the historical facts of how you get to this false conclusion. Good for Representative Steny Hoyer for speaking the truth.”

Friedman dismissed Greenblatt’s comments, tweeting “As we contemplate breakdown of post WWII order, former Trump official to makes explicit his view that int’l law is “fake, meaningless & politically motivated”…if applied to Israel. Law/rules for thee [ie, countries I don’t like] but not for me [ie, Israel].”

Greenblatt tweeted back: “On the topics of “international law,” international consensus,” and UN resolutions with respect to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, please watch this speech I made at the UN Security Council nearly 4 years ago. Nothing has changed. Specifically, listen to the part beginning at 3:50. Note that this language was carefully negotiated between me, at the White House, and the US State Department, and very carefully drafted. It reflects reality. It reflects the truth. It doesn’t hide behind meaningless words and slogans.” He attached a transcript of the speech:

“This conflict will not end on the basis of an international consensus about who is right and who is wrong. International consensus might work from time to time when you could actually achieve an international consensus. In the case of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, international consensus has not been achieved. Those who continue to call for international consensus are doing nothing to encourage the parties to sit down at the negotiating table and make the hard compromises necessary for peace. In fact, they are doing the opposite, allowing people to hide behind words that mean nothing. International consensus is too-often nothing more than a mask for inaction.”

“Let us not forget the day when the United Nations could not even find a way to build an international consensus behind the fact that Hamas is a terrorist organization that relentlessly attacks Israelis by incendiary balloons, missiles, attack tunnels, and other means, sometimes while hiding in residential neighborhoods filled with Palestinian families. Hamas, which ghoulishly holds Israeli soldiers, Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul as bargaining chips. Hamas, which imprisons Israeli civilians Avera Mengistu and Hisham Al Sayed. Hamas, a brutal terrorist organization that causes nothing but misery and suffering for Palestinians and Israelis, an organization that continues to vow to destroy Israel. This failure is profoundly shameful. If we cannot even find an international consensus regarding Hamas, is an international consensus really going to end this conflict? And how is it that we can’t find an international consensus that the Palestinian Authority rewarding terrorism and the murder of Israelis, using public funds, some donated by the countries in this very room, is abhorrent and must be stopped.”

“International consensus is not international law, so let’s stop kidding ourselves. If a so-called international consensus had been able to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it would have done so decades ago. It didn’t. This conflict is also not going to be resolved by referencing international law when such law is inconclusive. We’ve all heard cogent arguments, claiming international law says one thing or another about this or that aspect of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Some of those arguments are persuasive, at least to certain audiences, but none of them are conclusive. We will not get to the bottom of whose interpretation of international law is correct in this conflict. There is no judge, jury or court in the world that the parties involved have agreed to give jurisdiction in order to decide whose interpretations are correct. International law with respect to this conflict is a tricky subject that could be discussed and argued for years, without ever reaching a conclusion. So we can spend years and years arguing what the law is and whether it is enforceable and prolong the ongoing suffering, or we could acknowledge the futility of that approach.”

“This conflict will also not be resolved by constantly referencing the hundreds of UN resolutions on the issue. The constant reference to these heavily negotiated, purposely ambiguously-worded resolutions is nothing more than a cloak to avoid substantive debate about the realities on the ground and the complexity of the conflict. The interpretation of one of the most often cited resolutions- Resolution 242 – has been hotly debated over the past half-century that debate has not brought us closer to lasting and comprehensive peace. That debate has not even bridged the gap between those who construe Resolution 242 to call for the so-called right of return and compensation for displaced Palestinians and the fact that the world covers its eyes to the fate of the roughly equal number of Jews who were expelled or forced to flee their homes in Arab countries in connection with Israel’s War of Independence. Resolution 242 may have been drafted and voted upon in a genuine attempt to bring an end to the suffering that all involved in this conflict had endured, but we must acknowledge they have not succeeded.”

“A comprehensive and lasting peace will not be created by fiat of international law, or by these heavily word-smithed, unclear resolutions. The same holds true for the status of Jerusalem. There is no international consensus about Jerusalem, and no international consensus or interpretation of international law will persuade the United States or Israel that a city in which Jews have lived and worshiped for nearly 3,000 years and has been the capital of the Jewish state for 70 years is not today and forever the capital of Israel.”

“Jerusalem is a city of three world faiths. The rights of all who wish to worship at the holy sites in the city of Jerusalem must be protected. It is true that the PLO and the Palestinian Authority continue to assert that East Jerusalem must be a capital for the Palestinians. But let’s remember, an aspiration is not a right.”

Friedman replied “Since we’re pulling things from the archives: Israel Made A Huge Mistake. Trump Is Terrible For The Jews.” Citing an article in the Forward, she said “Almost from the moment of its creation, Israel has chafed under the restrictions placed on it by the rules-based order, most notably with respect to its military conduct in the region and beyond, and to its treatment of land occupied in the 1967 War and that land’s residents. With the breakdown of the peace process over the past decade, and the disappearance of any pretense that Israel wants peace with the Palestinians or intends to ever end the occupation, this chafing has reached a critical point.”

“International law cannot accommodate Israel’s continuing project to change the facts on the ground in the West Bank and East Jerusalem or the ongoing mass human rights violations the occupation entails; Israel’s annexation of territory acquired by military force in 1967 is fundamentally incompatible with the rules-based international order.”

“This context is key to understanding why the majority of Israelis, and a smaller number of right-wing American Jews, apparently have come to believe that Israel would be better off in a world order that tears up the existing rules. For some, this preference seems rooted in an ideology that prioritizes settlements and the expansion of Israel’s borders over all else. Others embrace the simplistic argument that international institutions and law are inherently anti-Israel and therefore not worth preserving.”

Greenblatt commented on the tweet: “Except there is an important distinction between what you are pulling from the archives and what I pulled. Yours was from your own Opinion column. Mine was not just my own opinion from a speech made at the United Nations; that speech was approved by the White House and State Department and, as far as I know, is still US policy. Some archives are more powerful (and true) than others.”

While this would be a welcome step and considered the completion of Israel’s integration into the Middle East, the fact is normalization appears farther off than ever before. What made the Abraham Accords work is that the players saw the Trump administration and America as a solid partner who was willing to remain in the region no matter what.

Tzur Yaniv, whose two brothers were killed earlier this year in an Arab Muslim terrorist attack, celebrated his bar mitzvah alongside their graves in Jerusalem during Israel’s Memorial Day last Tuesday.

Hamas member Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha shot dead 21-year-old Hallel Menachem Yaniv and 19-year-old Yagel Yaniv while they were driving through the main Samaria road through the Arab village of Huwara on Feb. 26. Tzur, 13, marked the rite of passage into adulthood wearing a T-shirt with a drawing of his two slain brothers, flanked by his parents, Shalom and Esti, and sisters Rachel and Kama.

This says so much about the Jewish people. Yes, we must mourn on Israel’s Memorial Day. The entire nation of Israel mourns Israeli soldiers who were killed and civilians who were murdered by Muslim Arabs in terrorist attacks. We give ourselves time to mourn. Because we must remember those who gave their lives so that we can continue to live our lives in the holiest land in the world, the Jewish homeland. Our enemies try to break us. But we don’t break. And the fact that a 13 year old and his family can celebrate this important birthday – the age where he has his Bar Mitzvah – at the gravesites of his two murdered brothers is powerful. The Jewish people love life. They will continue to celebrate the milestones and the happy occasions.

But, often, the personal relationships between leaders is overestimated as being the primary issue that leads to friction between leaders. In actuality, it is about basic policy differences where the interests of the two countries simply do not align due to different or clashing ideologies.

When the Soviet Union placed Mikhail Gorbachev in charge of the Politburo in the mid 80’s, in America, much talk ensued about how different Gorbachev was from his predecessors. Chernenko, Andropov, and especially Brezhnev, were the old guard leaders. Gorbachev was younger, seemed more reasonable, and perhaps a thawing in relations could develop. Until Gorbachev, the greatest accomplishment with the Soviet Union that the United States reached was a state of cold detente. That basically meant that the two superpowers were at least talking and making sure to minimize the chances of a colossal misunderstanding that could put the world on the brink of nuclear war. This was indeed a great accomplishment.

But what truly changed the equation was the ideological goal of Ronald Reagan to defeat the Soviet Union and bring them to their knees economically. Reagan was one of very few people – even in the right wing – who actually believed that the Cold War could be won. In the 60’s and 70’s, it seemed like the strife would go on for another century. Nobody expected it to end in the 80’s. The hero was not Gorbachev, and the key to the United States’ success was not the personal relationship between Reagan and Gorbachev.

True, it may have been a more bloody battle if Andropov, Chernenko, or Brezhnev were at the helm. Gorbachev knew that the Soviet Union could simply not sustain the economic buildup to compete with the expensive Star Wars initiative of Reagan. The Soviet Union was indeed defeated by protesters in Poland, East Germany, a massive US economic build up, diplomacy, and Reagan’s ideology that was driven to defeat the Soviet Union. Reagan, like his predecessors worked to loosen the stranglehold on Eastern Europe and other Soviet satellite countries that longed for freedom. But Reagan wanted to win the battle, not just stay ahead of the Soviet Union. His smiling meetings with Gorbachev were actually very frosty meetings that belied Reagan’s iron will to bring the Soviet Union to it’s knees. The United States prevailed and Eastern Europe is now free, outside of Ukraine.

Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s puppet President is treating Israel similarly to the way that Obama treated Israel. The fact that Biden had a warm personal relationship with Netanyahu 15 years ago has not kept Biden from acting in a cold and distanced manner from Netanyahu. Biden is basically continuing Obama’s policies on nearly every issue.

Barack Obama’s ideological goals were made clear at the outset of his Presidency when he spoke in Egypt. Obama was looking to transform the Middle East and the United States. Just like he was and is not a believer in American exceptionalism, he is not a believer in Israel being an exception in the Middle East. The whole idea of Israel being the only true democracy in the Middle East is not something that Obama subscribes to.

Obama sees Israel as an illegal occupier of a foreign entity’s land. He sees Israel as an oppressor. He looks at the right wing leadership of Israel as the main reason that the Middle East does not have justice. He believes that if Israel is forced to withdraw from Judea and Samaria and the area is turned into the State of Palestine, then all of the countries in the Middle East will be happy and accept little Israel.

Obama is wrong on all of the above. The entire idea of a so-called “Palestinian people” is one big fiction that was created to pressure Israel to walk back it’s amazing victory in a defensive Six Day War of 1967. There is no such thing as land of a Palestinian people because there is no such thing as a Palestinian. It is indeed one big lie that was promulgated by terrorists who want to destroy the entire State of Israel. The Arabs in the State of Israel have it better than in any neighboring Arab country. Democracy in Israel is actually solid and the Arabs in Israel enjoy more freedom in Israel than nearly anywhere else in the Middle East.

There is only one true just solution for the State of Israel’s debate with the Arabs in it’s midst. The solution is a completely robust and powerful State of Israel with an Arab minority that has NO weapons, but only administrative control over it’s own municipal decisions. No other solution is just to the indigenous Jewish people in their indigenous Land, and no other solution works in a Middle East that does not play to the same rules as the Western world. Reagan brought the Soviet Union to it’s knees. Israel must bring the Arabs in their midst to their knees.

The Arab minority in Israel understands strength and weakness. They don’t think in terms of justice and rights. Obama and the far left is completely caught up in ideas that are completely irrelevant to the Middle East. Netanyahu must diplomatically and emphatically say to President Biden to go fly a kite. Israel understands it’s own problems and Biden, the President of the #1 superpower in the world should worry about it’s own border chaos and Chinese balloons. Israel knows how to handle itself.

WHAT’S REALLY HAPPENING IN ISRAEL

The protests have nothing to do with judicial reform and everything to do with undoing the results of the last election.

(JNS) When Israeli judicial reform was proposed in January, the left protested, demanding that the legislative process stop so negotiations could take place. It was illegitimate, said the protesters, for the parties who won a majority of the Knesset to use their control to pass a law that didn’t have broad support.

Now the legislative process has been stopped at the direction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Just as the protesters demanded, teams have been appointed and talks scheduled at the president’s residence over the coming weeks.

But the protests have not stopped. What they have done, however, is reveal what they’re really about: Not judicial reform, but undoing the last election.

In Israel, there have been no claims that the last election was tainted by fraud or manipulated by the Russians. The left’s claim is that the people who won the election are bad and should not have won.

In Ashdod, one of the protest leaders—Eliad Shraga, chairman of the innocently named Movement for Quality Government—explained: “We are the light, and Netanyahu and his partners are the darkness. We are democracy and they are dictatorship. We are love and they are hate!”

“Netanyahu, like a man who runs from the truth, knows deep inside that he is not fit to be the prime minister. He knows he doesn’t reach the minimum ethical bar to be prime minister. He knows he’s corrupt, he knows he’s ethically rotten and he knows he doesn’t lead by example,” Shraga proclaimed.

The reason for the protests, Shraga honestly stated, is that the officeholders chosen by “the people” are, in the opinion of the protesters, bad. The protests are being held to throw those elected officials out of office by making it impossible for them to govern the country.

The protesters have never been opposed to any specific legislative proposal. Yair Lapid and Gideon Sa’ar, like many other members of the current opposition, are on record supporting judicial reform. What they are opposed to is the results of the last election. They are convinced that the people who won should not have won, and that the voters who chose these people have no right to do so. Because democracy.

In this, they have an unqualified ally in the Supreme Court, which disqualified Aryeh Deri from serving as a government minister. Deri had been put in power because his party won 400,000 votes. The Court disqualified him on the simple and honestly stated grounds that those votes had been cast unreasonably. It was unreasonable, said the Court, for Deri to be a government minister. So, they ordered his removal from the cabinet.

The protests have tainted even the IDF, encouraging refusals to serve that are explicitly based on the refusers’ belief that the people elected simply should not have won. The soldiers are being encouraged to think they can refuse to serve until that bad choice has been undone. Ehud Barak said exactly this at a Chatham House talk last week. It doesn’t take a Henry Kissinger to figure out that this is a recipe for self-destruction in very short order.

Over the last 2,000 years, the Jewish people have not much experience in governing themselves, and it shows. The people driving events are unembarrassed about saying out loud what they really think. Though they cry “democracy,” their protests are intended to disenfranchise those pesky ignoramuses who vote unreasonably. People who genuinely believe, and are arrogant enough to say, “we are the light” are simply refusing to allow a government to operate if it’s chosen by anybody else.

This is what’s happening in Israel and why it’s happening. Zman lakum, Jewish people. Time to wake up.

The conflict over judicial reform is really a battle between the two blocs of Israeli society.
(JNS) What’s really going on in Israel?
What are the massive demonstrations and disruptions in the streets, the revolt of the reserve pilots and the countless testimonials and petitions in Israel and the U.S. about?

They aren’t just about changing the balance of power between the Israeli Supreme Court and the elected government and Knesset. If they were, the parties could soon reach a compromise that would maintain a degree of judicial review and protect minority rights without prioritizing them over the survival of the Jewish state.

But that’s not what’s really going on. What’s going on is a power struggle between two blocs in Israeli society.

On one side, which I will imprecisely label “the left,” are the legal, judicial, academic, artistic and media establishments, along with much of the upper class, based mostly in the center of the country. This alliance is supported by the Biden administration and liberal American Jewish denominations. Insofar as it has a spokesperson, it is Yair Lapid.

On the other side, which I call with equal imprecision “the right,” are Orthodox Jews, Mizrachim, Russian speakers, the lower classes and residents of Israel’s periphery. The right is larger than the left, but the left’s control of the media and the legal system weighs heavily on the scales. The undisputed champion of the right is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel was a one-party state from its founding until 1977, when disgust with the Labor government’s failure to prepare for the Yom Kippur War and the accumulated anger of the Mizrachim at their paternalistic and exclusionary treatment resulted in Menachem Begin’s election as prime minister. When the left returned to power, it foisted the Oslo Accords on a generally unwilling public, which then endured the horrifying terror attacks of the second intifada.

That was virtually the end of left-wing governments in Israel. From then on, successful coalitions would be formed by the center and the right, many of them led by Netanyahu.

The left was shocked by Begin’s victory and depressed by Netanyahu’s continuing success. They realized that, due to demographic trends, they were unlikely to win a Knesset majority again. But they retained control of the legal establishment and used it to “protect” the country against the “excesses” of right-wing governments.

During the late 1980s and 1990s, the legal establishment arrogated more and more power to itself. For example, legal advisors throughout the government were given veto power over any official action. This veto need not be based on whether the action was illegal, but on whether it was unreasonable.

In another historic move, the Supreme Court handed itself the power of judicial review. In 1995, for the first time, it overturned a law passed by the Knesset.

Soon, the judiciary began to interfere in issues that were more political than legal. This gave rise to the demand that limits be set on its power. Were it not for one thing, that might have happened quietly, in a way that would be acceptable to both sides.

That one thing is Netanyahu. More specifically, the left’s hatred of him. As a result of this, what should have been a matter of discussion and compromise has become a conflict between the country’s two major blocs.

This is what lies behind the well-financed campaign against judicial reform. This campaign is dishonest and hysterical. If the reforms pass, opponents say, the justice system will be destroyed and Israel will become a fascist dictatorship. The economy will be wrecked, capital and tech workers will flee, the army will not fight and Israel will become a theocratic state soon to be overrun by her enemies.

This is nonsense. Even if the reforms are enacted in full, the situation would be no different than it was prior to the 1980s. If a compromise version of the reform were to pass, democracy in Israel would be enhanced, not damaged.

None of the reform bills have passed more than the first of three readings, so there is plenty of time to negotiate and compromise, and the government is willing to do so. The opposition, however, refuses to talk unless the process is frozen. The coalition believes that if the process is frozen, it will never be thawed, and insists that there can be negotiations during the normal legislative process.

In the meantime, opponents are ramping up their disruptions to the point that there are real fears of serious violence. The opposition sees blood in the water—Netanyahu’s—and can’t face the prospect of losing their veto power over the actions of any right-wing government. They have decided to keep their foot on the gas in the game of chicken until Netanyahu and his coalition blink.

What should happen is for the grownups in the opposition to work out a compromise with the government that will restore judicial balance without harming either side or the nation. This is perfectly possible.

What might happen is that the left has unleashed forces that cannot be controlled. In that case, the game of chicken could end in a fiery head-on collision.

Pointing out the absurdity of everything going on is an effective tool. Actually, it may be the only effective tool left. So few people seem to have an open mind to the norms that exist in the world today that pointing out the ridiculousness of everything is the best method of combating the new norms.

Very few people are truly open to having an open-minded discussion on matters of feelings and gender. The best decision to impact on young people today is to fight the battle on two battlegrounds – the schools and social media.

The school boards should be places that parents make it clear that they will not compromise on their values – period. Teachers, and especially principals with values that espouse fake concepts such as transgenders and cancel culture for anything that is not a radical woke value, should have no chance of running schools or teaching in a classroom. As important as reading and writing is, it is more important that classrooms not be places that children’s minds are polluted. Boys and girls, yes – they are two different categories, should be safe from woke radical parents trying to convince them that their gender is a matter of choice like flavors in an ice cream store.

Freedom is under attack in the entire Western world by a culture of cancelling anything that is not a radical woke value. The social media fight will only be won via slick and humorous short videos – spread far and wide – that display the ridiculousness of radical woke values.

The FBI has been politicized in a major way. This is actually not a new concept. But today, more things become revealed to the public than in past decades.#

J. Edgar Hoover dominated the FBI for so long and was so entrenched in his position that nobody questioned to what extent he had weaponized the FBI as his own political tool. Much of what the FBI did certainly enhanced the security apparatus of the United States of America. But no historian today will argue that J. Edgar Hoover was not politically motivated to preserve his hold on his own power structure.

Today’s FBI should probably be turned around completely into a more transparent government body. But that is of course very challenging as the very nature of the FBI is one that handles covert information gathering programs in order to protect national security.

It is indeed a tricky business – one that will always be filled with overstepping the lines of legal and extralegal. There is no way around that. However, what should be done is a non-political body, ideally from the Judiciary, should be tasked with making sure that lines are not broken that will endanger national security by having any government body accrue too much power. Checks and balances that slow down but don’t strangle government agencies are a blessing for democracy and freedom.

The now famous Pentagon leaks released by Jack Douglas Teixeira, an American airman in the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard in early April of 2023 show how the USA and its allies are heavily invested in the Ukrainian conflict – with US special forces working on the ground in Ukraine in active combat roles.

While the MSM has helped the government downplay the leaks, the damage has already been done. Although the leaks did not mention the US involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline attack, the MSM has covered that up in the same way it has about any US premeditated involvement or provocation that caused the Russia to invade Ukraine.

Longtime investigative journalist Seymour Hersch who broke the Watergate story, released what has become a scathing reveal on America’s direct involvement on the Nord Stream pipeline attack. The article published on Substack on February 8th of this year, paints in detail how the USA planned to take out the NordStream pipeline well in advance of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Hersch writes in his now famous article: “Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible.”

Hersch details the plot and strategy on exactly how the USA carried out the NordStream bombing.

Why has the managing editors of America’s leading newspapers sidelined Hersch’s assertions?

Today is Israel’s Remembrance Day. This is when the nation commemorates all those who have fallen in battle defending it against its attackers, and remembers also all those Israeli civilians who have been murdered by Arab terrorism.

Since the State of Israel was established in 1948, 24,213 men and women have been killed in military service and 4,255 men, women and children have been murdered in terror attacks. To put these losses in proportion, in 1948 Israel had 806,000 people; today, its population is approaching 10 million. In America, the population during that period has risen from around 130 million to 336 million, and in the UK from 50 million to 67 million.

Today is an emotional day for Israel. This morning, when the siren sounded at 1100, traffic in the streets came to a halt and people stood and bowed their heads. Thousands of Israelis have visited the cemeteries to remember slain family members, recite prayers and join in the nation’s collective mourning and respect.

This annual demonstration of solidarity in grief over the dreadful price paid by Israel’s never-ending struggle to survive always generates high emotion. Today, this has been heightened still further by the terrible divisions laid bare during the last four months of uproar over the government’s judicial reform programme — which today also produced a few protests at these most solemn events.

This evening, Israel will pass seamlessly from a day of extreme sadness to the start of Independence Day, when it celebrates the rebirth of the Jewish national home in Israel. For Israelis, rejoicing over that astonishing achievement is necessarily anchored in the awareness that is never far from the surface — that the price they have paid to be citizens of their own country has been agonisingly steep.

That price is still being paid, as Israelis continue to be regularly attacked and murdered and their young conscript soldiers continue to be sent into harm’s way to defend their country against enemies bent upon its extermination.

Far too many in the west, however, get Israel’s unique predicament precisely the wrong way round. Swallowing wholesale the Palestinian Arabs’ propaganda, these westerners fail to acknowledge the Palestinian Arabs’ medieval and Nazi-style Jew-hatred and their true agenda of exterminating Israel. Regarding them ignorantly and wrongly as the displaced rightful inheritors of the land, the west supports and funds them while demonising and delegitimising Israel, whose unique claim to the land is based firmly on historical fact and international law.

The true nature of the Palestinian Arabs’ agenda is regularly laid bare by the invaluable website Palestinian Media Watch. Unfortunately, few in the west even know of its work. Earlier this month PMW’s director, Itamar Marcus, was interviewed for The Hungarian Conservative by Sáron Sugár, a research fellow at the Budapest-based think tank, the Danube Institute. In order to bring Marcus’s crucial insights to greater public attention on this day of mourning for the slain of Israel, I am reproducing here a lightly edited version of that interview. The passages in bold are my own emphasis.

[Question]: Could you tell us about how and why Palestinian Media Watch was founded?

[Marcus]: Palestinian Media Watch was founded soon after the signing of the Oslo Accords to find out what the Palestinian Authority was teaching its people, especially its children, about Jews, Israel, and peace. We very quickly discovered that there were two distinct worlds: the English language world for foreign consumption and the Arabic language world for its own people, and there was no resemblance between the two. Whereas in English and in foreign capitals, the PA presented itself as peace-loving, to its people all the statements in Arabic and the actual activities of the PA pointed to a strategy of hate and terror that aims to continuously weaken Israel, eventually leading to Israel’s destruction.

[Question]: At the end of 2022, you published a report titled ‘Teaching Terror to Tots’. The report is dedicated to the memory of Dalya Lemkus, a 26-year-old Israeli woman who was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in 2014. The Palestinian Authority-issued children’s magazine, WAED, teaches Palestinian children that her murder was ‘a heroic car ramming’ and that the terrorist who murdered her ‘has the most beautiful smile’. What were some of the most disturbing examples of how WAED indoctrinates children to the hatred of Israeli Jewish people, and what impact do you believe this kind of education has on the attitudes and behaviour of young children exposed to it?

[Marcus]: The fundamental purpose of WAED magazine is to raise a generation of children who hate Israelis and Jews, feel obligated to fight and kill Israelis and Jews, and will be willing to kill themselves in the process. WAED’s fundamental messages are that Israelis are foreign colonialist invaders, and therefore, Israel has no right to exist. Israel is coined as the ‘thieving entity’, and Israelis are demonised as the ‘Jewish invaders.’ Fatah proclaims it will destroy Israel by ‘liberating Palestine from the thieving Zionist entity’. Israel’s destruction is packaged in various euphemisms such as: ‘the period of Zionism will eventually pass’ and ‘The Zionist invaders will go to the garbage can of history,’ after which the Jews will all be expelled. Fatah presents Algeria as the historical precedent: ‘Algeria’s experience assures that the Jewish settlers in Palestine will disappear in the end.’ The Palestinian ‘absolute right’ to destroy Israel creates the ‘right’ to use terror, which they call the ‘…right to wage an armed struggle to take back its stolen homeland’. This PA/Fatah education will be the driving force for Palestinian hate and terror for another generation.

[Question]: At the end of January, a 13-year-old resident of East Jerusalem shot a Jewish father and son in the City of David quarter of Jerusalem. The fact that a teenager carried out a terror attack in Jerusalem and became a ‘martyr’ showed that Palestinian children are taught to hate and kill Israelis in East Jerusalem as well. Is there a chance to reach these Palestinian children to make them learn the reality and the truth before their parents sacrifice them for the Palestinian cause?

[Marcus]: The most effective way to reach Palestinian children and undermine the PA’s hate education is to have joint activities between Palestinian and Israeli children. Israel, for years, has tried to promote these kinds of activities, and when they do happen, they are successful. Unfortunately, the Palestinian Authority prohibits them for the simple reason that they are not interested in having their children stop hating Israelis. Just the opposite is true. The Palestinian Authority does everything in its power through its education and activities to demonise Israelis and Jews and to guarantee that its children will grow up hating Israelis and Jews. The only way to save Palestinian children is to have the international community influence their education, the media, organise summer camps, and youth activities and teach them the meaning of peace. Of course, this will never happen, which is why the future for these kids is very bleak.

[Question]: The European Union has been one of the biggest donors of the Palestinian Authority, giving 1.152 billion euros in financial support between 2021 to 2024. In late 2021, EU Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi vetoed the financial support as he proposed conditioning of the some 9 million euros of the EU aid to the PA reforming its textbooks. He has also been a great advocate for the studying of and reporting on Palestinian textbooks in the EU and was recognised for his efforts with the European Jewish Association’s Jerusalem Award at the end of 2022. Is the EU’s financial assistance being used for its intended purposes, or is it supporting Palestinian terrorism?

[Marcus]: The Palestinian Authority would never be able to promote and support terror without the EU’s support. The PA promotes terror even among its children, rewards terrorist murderers in prison with high salaries of up to 12 thousand shekels a month—which is four times the average Palestinian salary. The PA supports terror before the fact, rewards terror after the fact, and promises its people that it is their destiny to destroy an internationally recognised democratic UN member state, Israel. Any other government in the world with this intense terror support not only would be refused funding but would be designated as a terror organisation. The willingness of the EU, the US, the UN and other Western countries to give financial support to the PA is interpreted by the PA as a pass from the international community for them to murder Israelis. In my view, Hungary should come to the EU not just with examples of the schoolbooks but with the complete picture of all the fundamental problems with the Palestinian Authority as I am describing them here, so the EU would be embarrassed and eventually would stop funding the terror-promoting PA.

[Question]: In 2022, the UN passed 15 resolutions against Israel and only 13 against the rest of the world. Unlike most state members of the UN, Hungary voted ‘no’ to most resolutions that condemned the Jewish state and promised it would stand with Israel these years as well. How do you evaluate the Hungarian government’s efforts to support the State of Israel?

[Marcus]: Hungary is a beacon of goodness and decency in a world of intense hatred towards the state of Israel. Certainly, many European countries have convinced themselves that they support the state of Israel and care about its future survival. It’s very likely that most of the European public cares about the state of Israel. Still, any country that genuinely cares about Israel would not financially support the murderers of Israelis and a Palestinian leadership that openly states that their long-term strategic plan is Israel’s destruction in stages. We would like to increase Palestinian Media Watch’s work with the Hungarian government so that the leaders can have all the evidence they need to work within the EU to expose these truths about the PA that I have just elaborated. I meet with members of European parliaments and governments regularly, and the PMW documentation and evidence have a strong impact. It is most effective when the European leaders I have met continue to use the evidence in broader circles.

[Question]: One of the most common complaints against Israel is that the settlement movements in the West Bank are the ‘obstacles to peace’. These complaints usually don’t mention the Palestinian Authority and Hamas’s main responsibility in the conflict. What is the real obstacle to peace, and what would need to change to end the conflict?

[Marcus]: Israel has no illegal settlements and is not building in Palestinian territories. All relations with the Palestinians must be based on signed agreements. According to the Oslo Accords, Israel has the international legal right to build everywhere under its jurisdiction which is where settlements are created. All construction is being done in Area C of Judea and Samaria/West Bank, which according to all the agreements with the PLO/PA, is 100 per cent Israeli land unless it is otherwise designated in future agreements. Moreover, the Oslo Accords, which are the implementation of UN resolution 242, grant Israel the absolute ‘right to live in peace within secure and recognised boundaries free from threats or acts of force.’

What happened when Israel started giving the Palestinians land? Literally, every metre of land that Israel gave to the PA, both in Gaza and in the West Bank, has been turned into terror bases. The Palestinian Authority’s security services, which were armed by the international community and are supposed to stop Palestinian terrorists, have become a driving force of Palestinian terror, and this is confirmed by the PA themselves. The Palestinian leader, Fatah Nablus Secretary Muhammad Hamdan, said last month on official PA TV that ‘more than 1,500 [recent] military operations (i.e., terror attacks) against the Israeli occupation were led by the Fatah Movement members and the PA Security Forces members.’ The PA security services, together with Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah and other terror organisations like Hamas, have murdered more than 2,000 Israelis, with attacks that were launched from the lands that Israel gave them following the Oslo Accords. Accordingly, Israel has already given too much land, and now has borders that are already insecure. Israel therefore, has no further obligations to give more territory to the Palestinian Authority terror entity and its terrorist security services. To do so would be signing the death sentences of countless more Israelis.

[Question]: At the Danube Institute, we launched a research project titled ‘Attacks on Christian Communities and Institutions’ in which we’re planning to do fieldwork in six countries from the Middle East to Africa and Europe. One of our fieldwork trips is going to be in Jerusalem, Jordan, and the Palestinian territories. How do Christians live in Israel compared to the West Bank, and why do many Christians who live there blame only Israel and not the Palestinian Authority and terrorist organisations for their suffering?

[Marcus]: The Christians of Bethlehem and the West Bank thrived under Israel. Under Israel, Christians made up approximately 70 per cent of the population of Bethlehem. The PA’s Islamic supremacist ideology, which it passes on to its people even though it denies this internationally, has led to so much anti-Christian hate and terror that Christianity is being decimated in the Palestinian areas. The Christian population of Bethlehem today is close to 10 per cent. All the rest have run away to South America and Europe. Of course, Christians in the West Bank have to blame Israel for the destruction of the Christian population because to openly blame the criminal PA could mean their death sentences. There are Palestinian Muslims who PMW works with who agree completely with PMW’s messages because they sincerely want peace with Israel, and they can tell only their very closest friends that they want true peace with Israel. They are afraid they will be arrested and tortured if the PA police ever finds out about their real opinions.

[Question]: What is the situation of Christians in Israel compared to the West Bank? Is it likely that those extremely radical Jewish representatives in the government who proposed ‘anti-missionary’, anti-Christian legislation could gain more power?

[Marcus]: Israel is the only country in the Middle East where Christians thrive in every aspect of life and enjoy equal rights. If you look at Muslim countries in the Middle East or Africa, it can be seen how Christians are persecuted and massacred on a monthly basis. I’m always shocked that the Christian leadership around the world and the mainstream media are so silent about the sufferings of persecuted Christians, but when it comes to Palestinians blaming Israel for Christian persecution, the whole world is screaming. The anti-Christian law that was proposed recently was immediately withdrawn. Similar legislation has been proposed for many years but it has never reached a stage of even having to vote on it and was immediately withdrawn each time. Israel will always embrace its Christian residents as equal citizens, and the few extremists who may want to damage relations will never succeed.

[Question]: Even though it’s the holy month of Ramadan for Muslim communities, on 1 April, a Palestinian driver hit three Israelis south of Bethlehem in a ramming attack. It’s one of the many terror attacks carried out by Palestinians against Israeli Jews this year. Whenever there is a terror attack, Palestinians celebrate it with fireworks or distributing sweets. Why do you think the mainstream media does not cover the whole truth and mainly supports the Palestinian side of the conflict?

[Marcus]: Most people involved in the media are not merely interested in reporting what’s happening but are activists with an agenda or a cause. Supporting a strong and powerful democracy like Israel is not a cause that the media wants to promote. They need to find the underdog. So, they chose Palestinians and have twisted the murderous hate and terror that the PA promotes into proof that the Palestinians are suffering at the hands of Israel. After all, they say: why would Palestinians kill innocent Israelis if they weren’t suffering at the hands of Israel. But of course, all they really have to do is look at the Palestinian ideology as the PA expresses it to its own people, and they would see that the PA promotes vicious antisemitism, hatred of Jews, and denies Israel’s right to exist. Israel has been the victim of Palestinian terror for decades and still has offered the Palestinians statehood numerous times. But since the truth doesn’t fit the storyline that the activist agenda-driven media have created, the truth is ignored. The media have decided that presenting the Palestinians as victims of Israel is a good storyline that sells. Once they have created that narrative, they’re unwilling to let any facts change the story, and some are even willing to defend Palestinian terror.

[Question]: Many people predict that the conflict might escalate into a Third Intifada. What is your take on that?

[Marcus]: The Palestinian Authority right now is very weak. Mahmoud Abbas is personally very weak; over 80 per cent of the population in all the polls suggests that he, and his government are corrupt and close to 80 per cent have been wanting him to resign for years. He was elected in 2006 for five years; and since then, he’s never allowed elections. The weaker he gets, the more he promotes terror, as many dictators have done throughout history. His goal is to trigger the equivalent of a small Intifada, have regular terror, and force Israel to go into the Palestinian cities to kill terrorists, which he hopes will redirect the anger from him towards Israel. That’s why we’re seeing intense incitement among the Palestinian leaders.

PMW regularly reports on all the statements by Fatah and PA leaders who are calling for violence, and historically, whenever the Palestinian Authority is weak, its leaders start violence. Yasser Arafat started the Second Intifada in October 2000 when he had lost the support of the Palestinian people, and only 22 per cent of the population felt that there was positive democracy and human rights in the Palestinian Authority. Arafat had spent years using donor money to build a terror infrastructure and started the Second Intifada when it was politically helpful.

Tragically, he was successful as a terror leader. Because of Israel’s naïve trust that the Palestinian leadership had changed, the PA, Fatah and Hamas were able to send hundreds of suicide bombers into Israel and murder 1,200 people. Today Israel has learned from its mistakes and won’t let the conflict turn into an Intifada like the first ones. There could be terror for an extended time because Abbas wants it, but it won’t reach the level of the Second Intifada. Interestingly, since the Palestinian Authority is afraid that Hamas will take over the West Bank, it regularly tells Israel as part of a ‘security cooperation’ where Hamas is organising so the Israeli army can neutralise the terrorists in time. However, the PA isn’t doing it to benefit of Israel.

Five people were wounded in a car-ramming terror attack near Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market on Monday afternoon, police and medics said.


One man later underwent surgery for his life threatening injuries and doctors were continuing to fight to save his life, said Dr. Alon Schwartz, head of trauma at Shaare Zedek hospital.

A woman in her 30s was listed in moderate condition with injuries to her limbs and will likely also require surgery, Schwartz said.

Jerusalem approved export licenses for two Israeli companies to sell electronic warfare systems with a range of some 40 kilometers (25 miles) that could be used to defend against drone attacks.

“Israel is assisting Ukraine in the defense and civilian fields. Every request is being reviewed according to the defense export policy to Ukraine. We won’t elaborate on that for national security and foreign policy considerations,” the Defense Ministry said.

Russia has continued to sour in its relations with Jerusalem over the latter’s seeming movement towards the Western block on Ukraine. Russia has repeatedly warned Israel not to arm Ukraine. Intelligence Minister Gamliel, who hosted Pahlavi, welcomed his “brave decision” to visit Israel, adding, “The crown prince symbolizes a leadership different from that of the ayatollah regime, and leads values of peace and tolerance, in contrast to the extremists who rule Iran.”

At the “Heroes and Martyrs Remembrance” ceremony on Monday at Yad Vashem, the Crown Prince said that it was his “duty” to attend the event and honor the Holocaust victims.

Right now Israel is experiencing a crazy and dangerous protest movement.

Unfortunately, more and more public statements are being publicized of IDF reserve soldiers openly called to no longer serve in the IDF, with some pilots even saying that they would not attack Iran if ordered to defend Israel.

Yesterday, Israeli Defense Minister Galant who campaigned on the importance of judicial reform, not only did not put an end to the insubordination of army officials calling to no longer serve, but he legitimized their insubordination by appeasing it and calling to stop the necessary and just reform. In reaction to that colossal and dangerous precedent, Prime Minister Netanyahu fired him as Defense Minister.

In addition to that, last night, the political left took to the streets, caused chaos and even closed down the major highway in Tel Aviv, with the support of high-level police officers in charge of Tel Aviv.

Now heads of Universities, Hospital directors and workers unions are planning on shutting down the country unless the law to neuter the veto power of Supreme Court judges to choose other Supreme Court judges is stopped.

Unfortunately, the left is showing that they are willing to destroy the country over a law that takes away veto power from the Supreme Court judges in choosing new Supreme Court judges. And for that they are screaming the end of democracy, failing to realize that their actions are the epitome of destroying democracy! Even opposition party leader Benny Gantz today said that he would sit and negotiate the judicial reform. However, the political left had over 10 weeks to sit and negotiate, yet instead of negotiating they decided to create absolute chaos, calling for removing money from Israel, asking foreign countries to isolate Israel diplomatically, and even supporting IDF soldiers to refuse to serve, as a tactic to protest the very just reform that they could have peacefully negotiated!!!

Understand, this protest movement is not about judicial reform, it’s about overturning a democratically elected government.

This is a political terror protest campaign. Period.

Again, making quite clear that it’s those protesting the judicial reforms who are destroying Israeli democracy. Protesting is fine, but calls to support the destruction of the country unless your demands are met, is no longer protesting.

Barack Obama has always been a good speaker. He mixes his personal story with ideological content effectively and understands well how to communicate and push forward initiatives. But Harris lacks one key element – genuine depth – and it comes out nearly every time she speaks.

Many of the Presidents of the United States in the 20th century were not known for extraordinary depth when they spoke. But, nearly all had genuine depth. Ronald Reagan, who was the President when Kamala Harris came of age, was an extremely effective speaker who knew how to skirt a tough issue better than nearly anyone else. Many thought that he was not a particularly intelligent President. They were wrong. He had depth and focus and never wavered on the matters he set out to achieve.

Reagan wanted to defeat Communism – not merely contain it. He wanted to lower taxes and shrink the central government and achieved all of his goals. He was so focused that even in the waning years of his Presidency, when he was slowing down, he continued his focus on his goals and basically led the United States to victory in the Cold War against Communism.

There were other Presidents who did not communicate as well as Reagan, Kennedy, Clinton, or FDR – all of whom were great communicators. Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H. Bush, LBJ, and Richard Nixon were never the best communicators. But, each came with messages that would define their Presidencies and their legacies. Ford brought a more unifying business as usual form of leadership following the tumultuous sixties and impeachment of the President. Carter found his focus during his Presidency as the human rights President. George H. Bush was the voice of prudence during the fall of Communism and the Persian Gulf War. LBJ expanded government programs massively and pushed through civil rights initiatives that changed America. Nixon worked to stabilize the Far East and bring America out of Vietnam while not giving in to Communism.

Kamala Harris is nothing like any of these great people who were not great communicators. There are no signature issues or ideas that she focuses on. She is not even convincing when she speaks about Joe Biden. Everyone remembers what she said on the debate stage when she attacked him mercilessly and almost brought down his chance for election.

The Democrat Party must search for other leaders – even if it means looking outside of the political sphere. Businessmen and businesswomen are often better options than politicians for High Office.

Finland announced that it is seeking to purchase Israel’s David’s Sling missile defense system in a deal worth some $344 million.

“The David’s Sling system will extend the operational range of Finland’s ground-based air defense capabilities significantly,” the statement said.

“This acquisition will create a new capability for the Finnish Defence Forces to intercept targets at high altitude. At the same time we are continuing the ambitious and long-term development of Finland’s defense capability in a new security environment,” said Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.

Ukraine has been trying to buy this same system from Israel, but under Russian pressure, Israel has balked in selling to the war torn country.

Its leadership sees Israel in helping it fend off Iranian influence from the South. In return, Israel can hope to gain another foothold in encircling the Iranian regime.

Eli Cohen’s visit comes at a critical time in order to show that Iran may have broken Saudi Arabia’s spirit, but it may not be able to hold off the coming Israeli onslaught from the South in UAE to it North in Azerbaijan and now Turkmenistan.

As the rhetoric continues to heat up between Israel and Iran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi threatened to wipe Israel our in a fiery speech.

“Enemies, particularly the Zionist regime, has receive the message that any tiny action against (our) country will prompt a harsh answer from the armed forces, which will accompany the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv,” Raisi said.

While this is nothing new for Iran, it comes at a time when Iranian backed forces have launched attacks from Lebanon and Syria – an indication that an expanded war is upon Israel.

Israel for its part is realizing its time it must be prepared to attack Iran on its own – especially when Saudi Arabia and UAE appear to be seeking normalization with Iran.
