Over the past months, while the western media has been obsessed with the latest tweet of President Donald Trump, there have been disturbing developments in the Middle East. Storm clouds are gathering on Israel’s horizon that will one day pose a grave danger to the security of Israel.
In a speech given this June, Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah warned that a future war with Israel, “…could open the way for thousands, even hundreds of thousands of fighters from all over the Arab and Islamic world to participate – from Iraq, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan”.
Nasrallah was not hallucinating.
Over the past years, the notorious Major General Qassem Suleimani, the head of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has been quietly working to create a land bridge from Tehran to the Mediterranean. The first stage of this project is to prop up the brutal regime of Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad.
Since the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War in 2011, Iran has provided the Assad regime with massive financial support, an endless supply of ammunition and weapons and tens of thousands of fighters from its Revolutionary Guard Corps and from its loyal proxy, Hezbollah. In addition, Iran has recruited, trained and deployed thousands of loyal Shia militants from Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere to Syria. Thanks to the more recent addition of Russian air power, the future of Bashar al-Assad now seems secure.

So, for example, if a student is confined to a wheelchair, we make sure the school has the appropriate bathroom facilities and, if there are several floors to the school building, we make sure there is an accessible elevator or lift. But we don't force all the other students to use wheelchair-specific bathrooms, nor do we stop them from using the stairs.
In the same way, if there is a blind student in the school, we do our best to include the child in all possible activities and we have braille materials available. But we don't force the other students to play games with their eyes closed or learn to read braille as well.
Unfortunately, when it comes to transgender activism, the world must be turned upside down to accommodate a struggling child (or adult).

Growing Acceptance Of Microchip Implants

In Sweden, people are abandoning the use of paper money for an increasing number of everyday transactions.
In fact, the amount of hard cash in circulation has decreased by 40 percent in the last 7 years. Sweden is beginning to look at doing away with physical money in favor of a completely digital currency which may include a microchip under the skin.
Commuters in Sweden are an example of trading cash for convenience as several hundred have already been chipped to be able to use the SJ Rail transit system.
The train conductor can then simply read the chip with a smartphone to confirm the passenger has paid for their journey. Another 3,000 have been chipped so that they can have easy access to secure areas of buildings.
Worldwide it is estimated that 20,000 people already have them, using the small devices to swipe in and out of the office, and even pay for food.
Wisconsin company, Three Square Market received lots of press earlier this year when it announced it would provide optional chipping of it's employees.

Christians Outpace FEMA In Aid To Hurricane Victims

Faith-based groups - Christian nonprofits, specifically - have been busy bees of late, providing more aid to hurricane victims than even FEMA, the federal agency that's supposed to swoop to the scenes of natural disasters, assess the situation and speed the recovery and rebuilding process.
Just goes to show: Where charity exists, government is not needed.
Look at this, from the Daily Caller: "Faith-based relief groups are responsible for providing nearly 80 percent of the aid delivered thus far to communities with homes devastated by the recent hurricanes."
The piece cited USA Today, which ran a headline: "Faith groups provide the bulk of disaster recovery, in coordination with FEMA."
Imagine that. When disaster strikes, it's Americans - specifically, Americans of faith - who lend the quickest hands, who provide the most assistance.
As USA Today noted, the Seventh Day Adventists took charge of disbursing bottles of water, diapers, clothing and other material needs.

One of the most troubling aspects about "peace and justice" activism in the current era is that the very same institutions that condemn Israel so vociferously have had a difficult, if not impossible time confronting the terrible misdeeds of the Assad regime in Syria, ISIS in Iraq and Boko Haram in Nigeria with the same force with which they assail the Jewish state.
Yes, they issue condemnations, but their statements are lamentations that really do not approach in ferocity of the ugly denunciations these institutions target at Israel.
In the United States, the problem is most pronounced in liberal Protestant mainline churches such as the United Church of Christ, the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Methodist Church, denominations that have to varying degrees of intensity support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement that singles Israel out for condemnation -- in a transparent effort to eradicate the country by economic means -- while remaining shamefully silent about the genocide of Christians in the Middle East.
We also see a tendency in institutions such as the World Council of Churches, the National Council of Churches, the Vatican and other parts of the Roman Catholic Church, to assail Israel while remaining silent about the problem of jihad.

Warfare is being reinvented. Like a scene out of The Terminator, the future of warfare is destined to include robot soldiers, unmanned aerial assault, and self-driving, weaponized vehicles. An $11 million contract approved by the Pentagon has been awarded to Six3 Advanced Systems.
The US Department of Defense is calling on Six3 to "design, develop, and validate system prototypes for a combined-arms squad." By the year 2025, experts predict that the U.S. military will have more robot soldiers than humans.
According to the U.S. Department of Defense directive, the new American fighting squad is meant to combine "humans and unmanned assets, ubiquitous communications and information, and advanced capabilities in all domains to maximize squad performance in increasingly complex operational environments."
Unmanned, self-driving, weaponized vehicles
The military aims to test a new system prototype by mid 2019. The robotic fleet may include underwater drones and unmanned Army trucks that drive themselves. The Army already has plans to test the unmanned vehicles at the Blue Water Bridge in Michigan.
This will be the first time the Army has ever unleashed self-driving vehicles onto public roads. The test will take place on Interstate 69 highway in Michigan.
"The U.S. military is very likely to pursue forms of automation that reduce 'back-office' costs over time, as well as remove soldiers from non-combat deployments where they might face risk from adversaries on fluid battlefields, such as in transportation," says Michael Horowitz, an expert on weaponized robots.

Debt Nightmare: Will America Finally Wake Up?
When will America finally wake up? The borrower is the servant of the lender, and we now have a colossal 20 trillion dollar chain around our collective ankles.
We have willingly enslaved ourselves, our children and our grandchildren, and yet our addiction is so insatiable that we continue to add more than 100 million dollars to our debt load every single hour of every single day.
The national debt is sitting at a grand total of $20,162,176,797,904.13 at this moment, but now that the debt ceiling has been lifted that number is expected to shoot up very rapidly toward 21 trillion dollars by the end of the year.
The national debt had been held down by accounting tricks to keep it under the debt limit for many months, but every time this has happened before we have seen the national debt absolutely explode back to projected levels once the debt ceiling was raised.
But very few of our "leaders" in Washington seem to care that we are in the process of committing national suicide. There is no possible way that we will be able to continue to be the most powerful economy on the planet if we continue down this road.
During Obama's eight years in the White House, we added more than 9 trillion dollars to the national debt. That certainly improved things in the short-term, because if we could go back and take 9 trillion dollars out of the economy over the past 8 years we would be in an absolutely nightmarish economic depression right now.
But even with all of this borrowing and spending, our economy has still only grown at an average rate of just 1.33 percent a year over the last 10 years.
And by going into so much debt, we are literally destroying the future for our children and our grandchildren.
What we are doing to them is beyond criminal, and people should be going to prison over this. But instead we just keep rewarding these Congress critters by sending the same cast of characters back to Washington over and over again.

Israel Prepares To Confront The Hezbollah-Iran-Syria Axis

A recent purported Israeli airstrike against a Syrian chemical weapons facility has added another layer of complexity to an already combustible situation in Syria.
With the Sept. 7 airstrike of the "Scientific Studies and Researchers Center," believed to be producing chemical weapons and precision missiles in central Syria, fears are growing that Israel may be ready to act with greater impunity against Iranian, Syrian and Hezbollah targets which could ignite a larger regional war in an already devastated country.
At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been holding its largest military exercise in decades aimed at the threat from Hezbollah.
The exercise, involving tens of thousands of soldiers from all branches of the IDF including reserve forces, is overseen by the IDF's Northern Command. The drill simulates a scenario involving a rapid escalation with the Iranian terror proxy Hezbollah that progresses into a full-blown war, necessitating the IDF to defend Israel on all fronts.
Tony Badran, a research fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told JNS.org that Israel's airstrike in Syria and military exercises together shows Jerusalem's "seriousness and resolve, which backs up the statements Israel is making."
Aside from the significance of targeting a possible chemical weapons facility, Israeli strikes near the northwestern Syrian city of Hama is also consequential.
"[Israel's airstrike] was very important. Since the Russian intervention, they have not struck anywhere north of Homs, now they hit near a Russian base where there is frequent Russian activity," Badran said. "The idea is if the Iranians think they are going to establish military installations in close proximity to the Russias to deter the Israelis, they are wrong."
Badran added that Israel will not wait for the Russians and the Americans to cut a deal to accommodate Israel's core concerns.
"Israel is not going to shy away from taking direct action themselves."

Peace Activist Defends Paying Palestinian Terrorists

Lara Friedman is the president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace. Previously, she was the director of policy and government relations at Americans for Peace Now.
Since Friedman clearly loves peace so much, you would think that she would be against anything that promotes violence.
But, as with many Middle East topics, words like "peace" do not mean what you might think they do.
Here is what Friedman wrote in The Nation last month:
Funding for families of those killed or imprisoned by Israel represents a critical social safety net. Removing it would amount to collective punishment, illegal under international law and viewed by most of the world as immoral.
Yes, Friedman is saying that forcing the Palestinian Authority (PA) to stop paying the families of terrorists would amount to "collective punishment."
It's almost hard to respond to an argument so ridiculous, but obviously this wouldn't be collective punishment -- it would be basic justice.
Friedman tries to justify her position by claiming that since so many Palestinians have been imprisoned, these payments are really more like social programs than rewarding terror:
It is a fact that Israeli military forces detain an extraordinary number of Palestinians, often for long periods without any due process. Many are convicted in military courts that have nearly a 100 percent conviction rate.

According to Palestinian sources, Israel has arrested 40 percent of the male Palestinian population since 1967. This is in addition to Palestinians killed while attacking, or accused of attacking, Israeli targets.
First of all, her source for that "40 percent" statistic is a complete and utter lie that Addameer has been pushing for years. The group has absolutely no polls, studies or statistics to support this lie. It is pure propaganda.
Secondly, the Palestinian payments are for families of current prisoners -- of which there are only around 6,000 -- plus the families of "martyrs" who died while killing, or trying to kill, Israelis. The PA also pays salaries to prisoners who have been released.
Indeed, the Palestinian law to pay salaries to families of prisoners defines prisoners as "anyone incarcerated in the occupation's prisons for his participation in the struggle against the occupation."
The PA isn't claiming that these prisoners are imprisoned for no reason, as Friedman implies in her article. Instead, they are proud of their "struggle," which is a code word for "terrorism."
Friedman's arguments are fundamentally pro-terror. This is a curious position for someone who pretends to be pro-peace.

Biltz believes the upcoming sign on Sept. 23 is precisely what this passage is referring to.

"The woman clothed with the sun is the constellation Virgo and represents the nation of Israel," he explained. "The 12 stars represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Interestingly, the constellation Leo, the lion, which is above Virgo, is made up of nine stars. The lion represents specifically the tribe of Judah. It just so happens this year during the Days of Awe, three planets will join the constellation Leo making up 12 stars. Virgo will be clothed with the sun, and the moon will be under her feet, fulfilling this sign to precise detail."

Furthermore, said Biltz, contemporary events on Earth are also precisely fitting with biblical prophecy.

Biltz cited Luke 21:25, which says: "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring."

"The next verse also refers to how ‘the powers of heaven shall be shaken.' Look what happened immediately after the solar eclipse at the beginning of the month of repentance," he said. "We have the sea and the waves roaring loud and clear because of Hurricane Harvey. Not only that, the eclipse was on the 21st and the hurricane was the 25th. This event has been directly tied to this verse in Luke 21:25! Talk about predicted in the Bible!"

"God said there would be signs in the sun, moon and stars and Yeshua [Jesus] confirmed there would be signs in the heavens in the end of days before the Messiah comes.

"I'd caution I don't ever predict what will happen, so much as connect the dots after they have happened. It is also important to remember prophecy has multiple fulfillments. Still, though I would not say this is definite; I would suggest that the imminent beginning of the Tribulation is definitely a big possibility."

But why should believers care about what is happening in the sky? Isn't looking for such signs uncomfortably close to the practice of astrology?

Biltz points out Scripture itself speaks of the importance of signs in the sky. He also says there is a critical distinction between astrology and what he calls "biblical astronomy."

"Biblical astronomy has nothing to do with astrology," Biltz said. "The devil likes to pervert everything God does as a way of sidelining believers. In astrology, it's all about you and interpreting the signs in the sky about how it affects your life. In biblical astronomy, it's all about God. It's an entirely different focus. God even stated the heavens are declaring the glory of God."

Biltz contends the signs in the sky are a message from God urging repentance. The recent solar eclipse, in particular, was a message to America.

"I believe solar eclipses over nations is God's way of warning that nation to turn back to godliness," the pastor said. "God is not willing that any should perish but all turn back to Him. The sun shines and the rain falls on everyone, both the righteous and the ungodly. We are not to point the finger and blame people as much as each and every one of us are to seek God and find comfort in His presence."

And Biltz argues the flood of extraordinary signs both in the heavens and on Earth means the time to repent may be running out.

"I believe, as the Bible states, that when we see these things we should be looking up in expectation that our redemption is drawing near," he told WND.

Danger Signs For Israel Coming From Parts Of Trump Administration

Israel and its supporters in the West are seeing danger signs coming from parts of the Trump Administration. Since taking office, the camp that views Israel as a liability and "root cause" of Islamic extremism has been gaining ground.
That camp is at odds with those who view the Islamist ideology as the root cause and believes it must be defeated for there to be peace in the Middle East.
State Dept. Report Blames Israel, Exonerates Palestinian Authority
The biggest danger sign for America's best ally in the Middle East came with the recent release of the State Department's annual Country Reports on Terrorism. It blamed Israel for sparking terrorism while applauding the Palestinian Authority's counter-extremism efforts.
The report frames Palestinian terrorism as a response to Israeli misconduct, with no attribution to an Islamist ideology or culture with a genocidal desire to wipe Israel off the map. Palestinian terrorism is essentially presented as a form of "resistance" motivated by legitimate grievances against Israeli actions. In other words, the terrorists are misguided freedom fighters.
The identified "continued drivers of violence" are listed as a "lack of hope in achieving Palestinian statehood, Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank, settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, the perception that the Israeli government was changing the status quo on the Haram Al Sharif/Temple Mount, and IDF tactics that the Palestinians considered overly aggressive."

China Tips Its Hand: How It Would Prevent A US Attack On North Korea

The unanswered question of the past several weeks is "What would China do to prevent a US attack on North Korea?"
Well, the Chinese began to answer that question with military exercises and deployment of air defense forces designed to expand the roles of anti-missile units in size and scope of territory defended.
RT News released an article on September 6 entitled China carries out live-fire exercise fending off 'surprise' overseas attack, and here is an excerpt:
"Earlier this week, China's envoy to the UN has once again urged all parties to the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula to return to dialogue. Saying that the situation in the region is falling into a vicious circle, he said that "China will never allow chaos and war on the peninsula," Xinhua reported.
Alongside Moscow, Beijing has been calling for implementation of a "double freezing" initiative, designed to cease both missile launches and nuclear tests by Pyongyang, and large-scale military exercises by Washington and Seoul.
The US has rejected the joint Russia-China plan, and has been discussing further deployment of military equipment including aircraft carriers and strategic bombers to the area. Beijing has repeatedly expressed growing concerns over the build-up close to its borders, saying it further destabilizes the situation in East Asia."
As can be seen from that last sentence, the US rejects these measures, because it compromises the effectiveness of a US attack and/or invasion.
In the bigger picture, it also solidifies defensive anti-missile countermeasures for Russia and China, slowing the attempted encroachment with the goal being capitulation to US and Western hegemony.
The attempt to begin sanctions against China further exacerbates the situation, and instead of a "reset," relations between Russia and the US are at an all-time low since the Cold War ended.
Russia and China would both back North Korea for the simple reason of preventing the US from gaining further foothold in their respective spheres of influence.
Although the President has revealed over this past weekend that "nuclear consequences" could be part of the response or initiative taken against North Korea, the nuclear option is not a viable one.
Radiation from any nuclear strike against North Korean facilities or bases would affect both China and Russia, and possibly South Korea.

Sept. 11, 1565

In 1565, Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent dominated the Mediterranean, with intentions of not only invading Sicily, Sardinia, Majorca, and southern Spain, but Rome itself. The only thing standing in his way was the small rocky Island of Malta just south of Sicily, defended by the Knights of Malta.

In March of 1565, Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent sent Algerian Admiral Dragut to Malta with 200 ships and 40,000 Muslim soldiers, including 6,500 elite Janissary troops. Dragut stated: "Unless you have smoked out this nest of vipers, you can do no good anywhere."

Queen Elizabeth I of England is said to have remarked: "If the Turks should prevail against the Isle of Malta, it is uncertain what further peril might follow to the rest of Christendom."

The Knights of Malta were led by a 70-year-old Frenchmen, Jean Parisot de la Valette. Pleas for reinforcements went out across Europe, but defense seemed futile. La Valette addressed his men: "A formidable army composed of audacious barbarians is descending on this island. These persons, my brothers, are the enemies of Jesus Christ. …"

La Valette continued: "… Today it is a question of the defense of our faith – as to whether the Gospels are to be superseded by the Koran. God on this occasion demands of us our lives, already vowed to his service. Happy will be those who first consummate this sacrifice."

The Turks attacked again and again, even reducing one of their fortresses to rubble, but the Knights kept fighting, resolved to save Western Civilization. Finally, Dragut was killed and the Muslims sailed away on Sept. 11, 1565.

Sept. 11, 1683

Another major event happened on Sept. 11. Sultan Mehmed IV sent over 138,000 Muslim Ottoman Turks to surround Vienna, Austria, led by General Mustafa Pasha. For two months they starved the 11,000 Hapsburg-Austrian defenders.

Sultan Mehmed IV sent the message to Austrian King, Leopold I: "Await us in your residence … so we can decapitate you."

Polish King Jan Sobieski gathered 81,000 Polish, Austrian and German troops and led a surprise attack on Sept. 11, 1683. They made one of the largest charges in history, 38,350 cavalry and dragoons. Soldiers had made wings for their backs which made a thunderous noise when they charged, causing the Turks to flee in confusion.

Upon entering the abandoned Turkish tents, Sobieski found bags of beans – coffee beans – revealing how Turks could fight day and night. The beans came from Ethiopia, the one African country which stayed Christian, and the Muslims called them infidels or "cafir," from which the word "coffee" was derived.

The legend is that Pope Clement VIII was petitioned to declare coffee "the drink of the devil" due to its association with Muslims, but the Pontiff tasted it and stated: "This devil's drink is so good, we should cheat the devil by baptizing it."

Shortly after the victory of Vienna, Polish General Koltschizky opened Vienna's first coffeehouses and coffee quickly spread across Europe. The Pope and European leaders hailed Jan Sobieski as the "Savior of Western Civilization." The humiliated Muslim army beheaded General Mustafa Pasha and sent his head back to Sultan Mehmed IV in a velvet bag.

Hilaire Belloc (1870-1953) wrote in "The Great Heresies" (1938): "Less than 100 years before the American War of Independence a Mohammedan army was threatening to overrun and destroy Christian civilization. … Vienna was almost taken and only saved by the Christian army under the command of the King of Poland on a date that ought to be among the most famous in history – September 11, 1683."

Sept. 11, 1697

Muslim Ottoman Turks dominated Belgrade, Serbia, since 1521. In 1691, Austria helped free Belgrade, but Muslim Ottoman Turks recaptured it and razed the city's buildings to the ground. The Serbian Orthodox Patriarch led thousands to flee to the Austrian Hapsburg Empire in the first "Great Serbian Migration."

Habsburg Prince Eugene of Savoy led the Holy League to counter-attack. Losing 500 men, they killed 30,000 Turks in one of the Ottoman Empire's worsts defeats in history – the Battle of Zenta, Sept. 11, 1697.

President Theodore Roosevelt wrote in his 1916 book, "Fear God and Take Your Own Part": "From the hammer of Charles Martel to the sword of Jan Sobieski, Christianity owed its safety in Europe to the fact it … could and would fight as well as the Mohammedan aggressor."

Sept. 11, 2001

Islamic terrorists hijacked passenger jets. Two were flown into New York's World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon and one crashed in Pennsylvania.

President Bush stated: "Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended."

That evening, President Bush stated: "Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. Pictures of planes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger."

President Bush continued: "America was targeted … because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. … I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve. … I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me.'"

On Sept. 13, 2001, President Bush stated: "In the face of all this evil, we remain strong and united, ‘One Nation Under God.'"

Sept. 11, 2012

The U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights, written with the help of Eleanor Roosevelt, was adopted by the U.N. General Assembly, Dec. 8, 1948. Without referencing the "Creator" as the source of rights, like the U.S. Declaration of Independence, the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights includes articles such as:

Article 18. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief.

This conflicted with Islamic Shariah law which imposes the death penalty for anyone leaving the Islamic religion.

Many articles in the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights were rejected by the leaders of 57 Islamic countries, who formed their own group called the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, or OIC. In 1990, OIC passed the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, affirming Shariah law as supreme, with:

the death penalty for those leaving Islam
punishing women who are victims of rape
allowing men to be polygamous
permitting wife beating
censoring speech insulting Islam
On Dec. 12, 2011, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton began a three-day closed door meeting with the OIC, promising to support their Istanbul Process to universally "criminalize" speech insulting Islam, effectively enforcing "dhimmi" status on non-Muslims worldwide.

By definition, the Christian Gospel insults Islam. If someone in a Shariah controlled country proclaims Jesus Christ more than a prophet – but also the Son of God who died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world – it would mean the death penalty. In fact, all speech contrary to Islam insults Islam.

At the end of the meeting, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stated: "The Istanbul Process initiated with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton … must be carried forward."

Clinton added: "We now need to move to implementation."

In the following months, Hillary Clinton's State Department ignored repeated requests for security by Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya. He was killed with several others in the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012.

The night of the attack, Secretary Clinton's State Department blamed a video, and the shortly after sent memos to YouTube and Google recommending they censor speech insulting Islam, consistent with promises made at the OIC Istanbul Process meeting.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice added to this narrative, as did President Obama when he told the U.N. General Assembly, Sept. 25, 2012: "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam."

The U.S. supported the Muslim Brotherhood's ousting of Egypt's President Mubarak. Then U.S. weapons were used to oust Libya's President Gaddafi.

Requests made by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act revealed emails of weapons being moved from Benghazi in a "Fast and Furious" gun-running style program to arm Muslim fighters in ousting Syria's President Assad. This is part of a larger plan remove current leaders in order to reestablish an Islamic Caliphate.

When Russia came to Assad's defense, the Muslims armed and trained by the U.S. attacked into Syria and Iraq, calling themselves ISIS, and proceeded to torture, rape, behead and displace hundreds of thousands.

Was The Temple Really Located On The Temple Mount?

In recent years, Bob Cornuke and Dr. Ernest Martin have proposed that the Temple was not actually located on what we today call the Temple Mount.
While the idea certainly is novel, is it really plausible in the light of Biblical and archaeological evidence?
Does it fit with the predictions of Bible prophecy?
Dr. Ernest Martin's Temple Theory
In 1867, archaeologists made the stunning discovery that the original City of David was located to the south of - and outside of - the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Taking this research further, Dr Martin suggested that
1. The Temple needed water to rinse away the sacrifices. It therefore had to be located close to Jerusalem's only water source - the Gihon spring in the City of David - rather than at the modern 'Temple Mount'.
2. Furthermore, Dr. Martin pointed to Jesus' prediction of 'not one stone being left upon another'. He proclaimed that the massive stones left in the Western Wall contradict Jesus' words if the Temple Mount was the site.
3. Primarily based on these two main ideas, Dr Martin proclaimed that the Temple must therefore have been located in the City of David and not on the Temple Mount
4. Finally, building on references from Josephus, Dr Martin made the case that the massive structure today known as the 'Temple Mount' was rather the Roman Fortress of Antonia
The implications of this theory when it comes to Bible Prophecy are dramatic. If this theory was true, it could open the way for the rebuilding of the Temple without sparking World War 3!
While proponents of the theory are excited about this possibility, does it actually fit the Biblical and archaeological evidence?

Who are you going to believe – the Bible or a flashy, new-age spiritual guru who makes up the rules as he gets wealthier and more famous?
That's what it came down to for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who just couldn't get his arms around the concept of hell.
I get it. It's a tough one. He struggled with it. Almost every believer has.
No one wants to think about a loved one, a close family member, a dear friend who never turns away from sin and toward God.
Yet, there it is in the Bible – 54 times, 31 times in the Old Testament, 23 times in the New Testament and 15 times out of the mouth of Jesus Himself.
Rodgers met celebrity Rob Bell, the former mega-pastor, now one of the media's favorite turn-to "Christians," who embraces same-sex marriage and a brand of pop-spiritualism that is seemingly defined more on how the church appeals to the world than how the church can be the salt and light to the world. Bell offered the Packers a chapel service and distributed some of his books.
Never mind what Jesus said. Rob Bell tells people what they want to hear.
Bell doesn't believe in a literal hell. And Rodgers told ESPN he found comfort in that assurance.

Human Sexuality And The Spirit Of The Age

More than 125 years ago, The Chautauquan, a scientific journal, first posed a question that we're all familiar with: "If a tree were to fall on an island where there were no human beings, would there be any sound?" People have debated the answer to that question ever since.
Today I want to raise a different question: If a group puts out a statement on an important subject and very few people take notice, and those who do are all virtually disagreeing, was anything really said?
Usually, the answer is "no." But in the case of a recent statement, the opportunities for teaching and clarification are enough to warrant an exception.
The statement was put out by a group calling itself "Christians United in Support of LGBT+ Inclusion in the Church." The statement's animating conviction is that "A new day is dawning in the Church, and all Christians are being called to step out boldly and unapologetically in affirmation and celebration of our LGBT+ siblings as equal participants in the Kingdom of God."
What follows are a series of affirmations and denials. What's being affirmed is the new sexual orthodoxy expressed in theological language that's completely untethered from either Scripture or two millennia of Christian teaching. Not surprisingly then, what's being denied is the teaching of Scripture, tradition, and even nature itself.
This denial is present in the very name of the group--specifically, the term "LGBT+, which prompts an obvious question "Plus what?" The polyamorous? What about the "Otherkin," people "who socially and spiritually identify as partially or entirely non-human?"
The "+" is a reminder that, to a large extent, the selling of the new sexual orthodoxy from the very beginning has been a case of "bait and switch."

Americans, including many Christians, have been swayed by sentiments such as "you can't help who you love," and Lady Gaga's "born this way."
What they don't understand is that this was only the tip of an ideological iceberg whose goal was about a lot more than "civil rights, tolerance," or even "legitimacy." It was, as a 1993 (!) cover story in the Nation put it, the possibility of "changing America forever" by "altering the way we all live, form families . . . and understand the very meaning of identity."
Remember that scene in Star Wars where Han Solo is told that the reward for returning Leia and Luke to the Rebel Alliance would be "more than you can imagine." He replied, "I don't know. I can imagine quite a lot." In a world where "the very meaning of identity" is up for grabs, what the statement calls the "wide spectrum of unique sexualities and gender identities" seems limitless.

No sooner had the Nashville Statement on biblical sexuality been issued then we began to hear a common refrain from the left. "This is another sign that the religious right is dying!
This statement represents the last gasp of the old, antiquated guard! It's time to say good bye and good riddance! Let's welcome the new thing the Spirit is doing!"
In reality, it is the religious left that is dying, while those who uphold Scripture are seeing blessing and increase around the globe. Before I back up this statement, here's what some "progressive" Christian leaders are saying.
Writing for the Huffington Post, seminary Professor Greg Carey at Lancaster Seminary scornfully claims, "Their public audience shrinking, their public presence waning, and their credibility shot to hell, the Christian right needs attention."
His article is titled, "The Nashville Statement and the Decline of the Religious Right," and he concludes with this salvo: "In the end we're stuck with a meaningless document. It adds nothing to the conversation that hasn't been said. If anything, its fake compassion increases the agony of LGBT Christians.
All that's accomplished by this document is a little press for the religious leaders who signed it, a whiff of air time for the disenfranchised. The Statement underscores the obvious: in the age of Trump, the Christian Right has lost its moral authority. These guys -- they're almost all men - may be have a spiffy website, but nobody's listening."

The president got off to an impressive start in a ground-breaking keynote speech he made four months after his inauguration at the Arab Islamic American Summit held in Saudi Arabia in May 2017.
The summit was true to his promise of convening an international conference to halt the spread of radical Islam.
Trump delivered a bold speech in which he clearly laid out to the heads of Muslim states that they had arrived at a pivotal moment:
It is a choice between two futures - and it is a choice America CANNOT make for you.
A better future is only possible if your nations drive out the terrorists and extremists. Drive. Them. Out. DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and
DRIVE THEM OUT OF THIS EARTH.
In concept and execution, the Trump Administration used the summit to mark a clear U-turn away from the Obama doctrine of embracing Iran at the expense of America's Sunni Arab allies.
During the trip, Trump inaugurated the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology in Riyadh, more than ironic considering the historical role of Saudi Arabia's extremist form of Islam, Wahhabism, in fomenting terror and radicalism around the world.

German law-enforcement officials are busy tracking down dozens of members of Jabhat al-Nusra, one of the most brutal jihadist groups in Syria.
The jihadists are suspected of slaughtering hundreds of Syrian soldiers and civilians.
Police have identified roughly 25 of them and apprehended a few, but dozens more are thought to be hiding in towns and cities across Germany, according to the Gatestone Institute.
The suspected terrorists entered Germany posing as refugees.
In fact, more than 400 migrants who came to Germany as asylum seekers in 2015 and 2016 are now under investigation for being members of Middle Eastern Islamic jihadist groups, according to the Federal Criminal Police.
The European Border and Coast Guard Agency, also known as Frontex, has previously warned that Islamic terrorists are using the refugee crisis to slide into Europe undetected and plan attacks across the continent. Frontex has admitted it has no way of tracking jihadists and, therefore, does not know the actual number who have entered Europe.

The "Internet Of Things" Is Sending Us Back To The Middle Ages

Internet-enabled devices are so common, and so vulnerable, that hackers recently broke into a casino through its fish tank. The tank had internet-connected sensors measuring its temperature and cleanliness.
The hackers got into the fish tank's sensors and then to the computer used to control them, and from there to other parts of the casino's network. The intruders were able to copy 10 gigabytes of data to somewhere in Finland.
By gazing into this fish tank, we can see the problem with "internet of things" devices: We don't really control them. And it's not always clear who does - though often software designers and advertisers are involved.

Our fish tanks, smart televisions, internet-enabled home thermostats, Fitbits and smartphones constantly gather information about us and our environment.

The Next War Against Israel

Israel's national existence is again being threatened, this time by a three-front war being engineered by Iran.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Russian city of Sochi on August 24 to attempt to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to restrain Iran's actions.
Iran is extending its expansion in Syria, to which Russia is a party, from western Syria up to Israel's doorstep on the Golan Heights. Iran, already heavily involved in Syria, is also deeply involved in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen. Most of its involvement is through its Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces and proxy terrorist networks. As a result Israel is, justifiably, feeling surrounded.
What both leaders know, and Mr. Putin wouldn't admit, is that Russia's power to restrain Iran is limited. Gone are the days when America and Russia could exert a superpower's near-total control over the actions of their allies and dependent or satellite states.
Russia's power to influence Iran while considerable, will not be determinative. Russian influence in Iran is deeply embedded both economically and militarily. Russian trade with Iran doubled over 2016. Iran is on an infrastructure building binge mostly funded by Russia. But Mr. Putin isn't about to threaten to cut off that aid to help Israel.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Putin reportedly gave no hint about what he would do.

During a TV interview in 2011, I quoted the words of a Christian lawyer who said that just as gay activists were once put in jail, they now want to put us in jail. For making this comment, I was vilified by Right Wing Watch, mocked by gay activists, and ridiculed by others.
I wonder what those critics are saying today in light of a recently proposed California bill that would send nursing home caregivers to jail for "misgendering" their nursing home patients. As a Daily Caller headline announces, "California Could Start Jailing People Who Don't Use Transgender Pronouns."
That's right, "The law is currently limited in its effects to nursing homes and intermediate-care facilities, but if passed, those who 'willfully and repeatedly' refuse 'to use a transgender resident's preferred name or pronouns' could be slapped with a $1,000 fine and up to one year in prison, according to the California Heath and Safety code."

The terrorist attack in Barcelona received the same reaction as all the large-scale terrorist attacks in Europe: tears, prayers, flowers, candles, teddy bears, and protestations that "Islam means peace ".
When people gathered to demand tougher measures against the rising influence of Islamism across the continent, they were confronted by an "anti-fascist" rally.
Muslims organized a demonstration to defend Islam; they claimed that Muslims living in Spain are the "main victims" of terrorism.
The president of the Spanish Federation of Islamic Religious Societies, Mounir Benjelloun El Andaloussi, spoke of a "conspiracy against Islam" and said that terrorists were "instruments" of Islamophobic hatred. The mayor of Barcelona, ​​ Ada Colau, cried in front of the cameras and said that her city would remain an "open city" for all immigrants.
The governor of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, used almost the same language. Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, a conservative, was the only one who dared to call jihadist terrorism by its name. Almost all European journalists said Rajoy's words were too harsh.

America's founders believed that freedom of speech, the ability to express political and religious opinions, even unpopular ones, is central to self-government.
Of course, this freedom, like all freedoms, has limits, particularly when it comes to putting others in actual danger.
We can't shout, "Fire!" for example, in a crowded theatre.
However, an emerging group of radicals on the left has embraced a new belief: that just about any ideas, other than theirs, are not only wrong, but dangerous. And so instead of arguing or debating, they've committed to shut down expression by, and I quote, "any means necessary."
We saw this on full display two weekends ago in Berkeley, where so called "anti-fascist protesters" clad in black and wielding baseball bats and homemade riot shields attacked members of a cancelled right-wing rally.
"Antifa," as these anarchists and leftists call themselves, reportedly broke through police lines and soon turned things violent.

What connection is there between the tragic events in Charlottesville and the release of an evangelical Christian statement on human sexuality? Absolutely none.

That is, unless you are former evangelical Jen Hatmaker, in which case there is now a connection between White Supremacists and biblically-based, sexual values. What on earth was she thinking?

The statement in question, issued in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, was described by Pastor John Piper as a "Christian manifesto" on human sexuality.

He said, "It speaks with forthright clarity, biblical conviction, gospel compassion, cultural relevance, and practical helpfulness. It will prove to be, I believe, enormously helpful for thousands of pastors and leaders hoping to give wise, biblical, and gracious guidance to their people."

From a biblical perspective, there is nothing controversial in the Nashville Statement, as it affirms sexual norms that have been taught by the Church for the last two millennia, including marriage being the union of one man and one woman.

From the perspective of LGBT activists and their allies, the statement has been branded "an affront to God's creative design," a theology that "breeds death."

But this is the expected LGBT reaction to the clear testimony of Scripture, as God's principles of life and freedom are branded a theology of death and bondage.

That reaction shouldn't surprise us at all, although it is tragic and painful to read. Nor should part of Jen Hatmaker's response surprise us, given her abandonment of evangelical Christian values.

She tweeted, "If the fruit of doctrine regularly & consistently creates shame, self-harm, suicide, & broken hearts, families, & churches, we shld listen."

Franklin Graham, the chief of both Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association ministries, counselor to presidents and powerful advocate for Christian activism, has issued a verbal takedown of the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center's attacks on innocuous ministries as "hate" groups.
"A hate group? Can you believe this – the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., has labeled a number of Christian groups such as D. James Kennedy Ministries, and the Family Research Council run by my good friend Tony Perkins as ‘hate' groups. Why?" he wrote on a Facebook post.
"Simply because they hold to the teaching of God's Word on moral issues such as homosexuality and same-sex marriage.

Border Patrol Launches Program To Scan The Face Of Every Person Leaving U.S.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have announced plans to scan the faces of all flyers exiting the United States. The American Civil Liberties Union reported:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has launched a "Traveler Verification Service" (TVS) that envisions applying face recognition to all airline passengers, including U.S. citizens, boarding flights exiting the United States. This system raises very serious privacy issues.
The only publicly available information comes from a privacy impact statement the Department of Homeland Security issued on the program, and a briefing CBP Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner John Wagner gave to privacy advocates in Washington this week.
The CBP envisions a system where airports install cameras at boarding gates to take pictures of all passengers leaving and entering the country. The pictures will have facial recognition software applied to them.
The Traveler Verification Service is currently being tested at six airports, including Boston Logan, New York JFK, Dulles in D.C., Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta, Chicago O'Hare, and Bush in Houston.
TVS itself is part of the larger "Biometric Entry/Exit" program which was created in response to a congressional requirement to use biometrics to track individuals who may have overstayed their visas.

Most of us are familiar with Photoshop, a program that enables users to edit photographs in such a way that the average person cannot tell what the camera originally captured as opposed to the digitally-created lie that results from our editing.
Image editing is so common these days, from air brushing to full-on altering, that the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words," is no longer as true as it once was.
And it's not just still images, of course. Through video editing, we can be made to believe in amazing trick shots with basketballs and Frisbees that--spoiler alert--never happened.
Now, as the public radio podcast RadioLab recently told listeners, new technologies promise--or, "threaten" may be a better word--to do for the spoken word what's been done to the image.
The technologies vary, but the results are that with various degrees of success, a person can appear to say almost anything. Some of these technologies can even use existing sound clips to create entirely new statements and speeches that were never given.
Some of these technologies are so convincing that they're prompting the adoption of digital "watermarks" that will enable listeners to tell whether what they heard was real or fake.

NEW YORK (JTA) — On the night of Rosh Hashanah, thousands of people will leave work, gather in congregations across the globe and worship God, the ruler of the world. Ten days later they will begin a fast and gather again to pray, this time atoning for their sins.
On both occasions they will praise Jesus Christ and pray for his return.
They are not Jews, nor are they Jews for Jesus. Rather, these congregants are members of an evangelical Christian movement called the Living Church of God. On the days Jews know as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, these Christians celebrate what they call the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement.
“We’re not trying to be Jewish,” said Dexter Wakefield, a Living Church minister and the church’s spokesman. “We’re obeying God’s commandments. The holy days have great meaning for the Christians who keep them.”
Living Church of God is one of a few evangelical groups that observes Christianity as it believes Jesus observed it, according to the dictates of the Hebrew Bible. That means no Christmas and no Easter — holidays the church rejects as pagan in origin. It also means that members observe their Sabbath like the Jews: from Friday night to Saturday night. The mainstream Christian custom of observing the Sabbath on Sunday, they believe, is another deviation from the authentic Christianity of Christ.

Three months after indefinitely delaying the potential move of the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, President Donald Trump has retained another core policy of preceding administrations by promising that annual American funding of $300 million to a UN agency that caters solely to Palestinian refugees will not be halted, Foreign Policy reported this week.
"Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the United Nations, has privately assured the UN Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA, that the United States, which provides more than $300 million to the agency each year, will maintain its current levels of funding to the organization," the journal reported. "'America has long been committed to funding UNRWA's important mission, and that will continue,' said one official at the U.S. mission to the United Nations."
Foreign Policy noted that the US pledge runs "contrary to the administration's push to rein in spending on UN relief programs elsewhere.

Unless the US is willing to bite the bullet and finally confront Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority, the mission to the region by US representatives Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt to "restart the peace process" on behalf of President Donald Trump may prove to be highly counterproductive.
Abbas is coming to the end of his reign. A brutal and corrupt dictator, he is determined that his legacy be that of an embattled "freedom fighter" committed to reversal of the "Nakba," his ultimate objective being the restoration of Arab hegemony from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
His means to achieve this necessitate the dismemberment of the Jewish state in stages through terrorism and international pressure.
Until now, he has basically ignored Trump's requests and demands. Incitement and calls for "resistance" via the media and imams urging Palestinians to kill Israelis and become shahids (martyrs) have reached a record high.
Abbas himself whipped up religious hysteria based on the false cry that Jews were taking over and desecrating Al-Aqsa Mosque, thus triggering the recent riots and encouraging further terror attacks. Children are brainwashed into regarding Jews as subhuman descendants of apes and pigs, propaganda reminiscent of and frequently replicated from Nazi sources.
The PA and its leaders continue honoring mass murders as freedom fighters, dedicating mosques, city squares, schools and other institutions in their names to commemorate their murderous acts.

Netanyahu also noted that the Islamic Republic is "well on its way" to controlling not only Syria, but other countries in the Middle East, including Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon.

School Promotes Transgender "Transition Ceremony" To Kindergartners
WASHINGTON – The push to make children comfortable with transgenderism has reached disturbing new depths, with a California school promoting it to kindergartners by having a 5-year-old boy undergo a "transition ceremony" in front of classmates.
The boy left his classroom at Rocklin Academy Schools in Rocklin dressed as a boy then returned dressed as a girl.
KTXL-TV, a Fox affiliate in Sacramento, reported two books written specifically for young children were read in the class "to illustrate what it means to be transgender."
The two books were "I am Jazz" and "The Red Crayon," according to LifeSiteNews.com. Both are meant to explain transgenderism in a sympathetic way to children ages 4 to 8.

IRS Rehires Personnel Fired For Targeting Conservatives!

More than 200 IRS personnel who were fired for unethical and even criminal actions in connection with the targeting of conservatives are now back on the job, according to an inspector general's report.
According to the Office of Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, 213 people were rehired by the IRS despite a checkered history with the agency.
Those allowed back in between January 2015 and March 2016 include four people who were fired or resigned for failure to properly file their own income taxes. Four had been axed for improperly accessing taxpayer information, 86 others left while being probed for questionable leave, disrupting the workplace or failing to follow instructions, and 27 failed to disclose a conviction or being fired on their applications.
The inspector general's report shows the audit was requested by an unnamed U.S. senator who was concerned about lax hiring practices at the IRS. The report concludes there was reason to be concerned.

It all happened in the course of one night, and it happened quite suddenly.

Last Thursday night, I noticed that YouTube demonetized my interview with a former KKK Grand Dragon who is now an associate pastor in an African American church, claiming it was "Not suitable for all advertisers"?

Why wouldn't it be? It was a great, positive, redemptive story, one that the whole world should hear. Why flag it?

The demonetizing of this video was the first thing that got my attention, but I thought to myself, "It's probably because it has KKK in the title."

For months now, we had noticed that almost any video we had with "Islam" in the title would get demonetized. But when we would request a review from YouTube, some of the videos would get reinstated.

Still, we had seen a drop of more than 65% in our AskDrBrown YouTube income, despite producing more, not less videos. What was causing this to happen?

We are a non-profit ministry, and every dime that comes in goes back into ministry work. Why the precipitous decline?

Well, no sooner did I see that the Grand Dragon video had been flagged than I spotted a note on our channel from YouTube. It explained that, if we had seen a drop in video income, it could be that our videos had been marked as not suitable for all advertisers.

In Matthew 11, Jesus expresses his frustration with the people in his native region who, despite witnessing his mighty works, refused to repent and believe the Gospel.
One of the groups he singled out were the residents of Bethsaida, the home town of Peter, Andrew and Philip.
"Woe to you, Bethsaida!" he declared. "For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you."
Other mentions of Bethsaida in the Gospels refer to those mighty works: Jesus healing a blind man in Mark 8, and in Luke 9, feeding the 5,000.
As I never get tired of saying, Christianity is an historical faith. It tells the story of God's actions in human history, not some mythical "once upon a time." Thus, as I also never get tired of telling you, it shouldn't surprise anyone when archaeologists discover evidence that confirms this fact.
That is exactly what happened recently on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. There, archaeologists from Israel and from the United States found a "multi-layered site" that included "an advanced Roman-style bathhouse."
This and other artifacts, including pottery and Roman coins dating from about 65 A.D., led them to conclude that they had discovered the ancient city of Julias.
According to the historian Flavius Josephus, King Philip Herod, the first husband of the Herodias who told her daughter to ask for head of John the Baptist on a platter, turned a sleepy fishing village into a full-fledged Roman city.
Then, in a brazen attempt to curry favor, he changed the name to Julias in honor of the Emperor's mother.
That village, a you've probably guessed, was Bethsaida.

Several years ago, my husband and I began attending a local Evangelical, non-denominational church, and we loved it.

We cherished the sense of community we found among the loving and authentic people we met there, and the intelligent, "outside the box" pastor who led our flock with thought-provoking and insightful sermons.

Sadly, the church started going off the rails theologically, and after about a year and a half, we made the difficult decision to leave. Today that church is a self-titled "Progressive Christian Community."

Back then I had never heard of "Progressive Christianity," and even now it is difficult to pin down what actually qualifies someone as a Progressive Christian, due to the diversity of beliefs that fall under that designation.

However, there are signs—certain phrases and ideas—that seem to be consistent in Progressive circles. Here are 5 danger signs to watch for in your church:

1. There is a lowered view of the Bible

One of the main differences between Progressive Christianity and Historic Christianity is its view of the Bible. Historically, Christians have viewed the Bible as the Word of God and authoritative for our lives. Progressive Christianity generally abandons these terms, emphasizing personal belief over biblical mandate.

Comments you might hear:

​The Bible is a human book...
I disagree with the Apostle Paul on that issue...
The Bible condones immorality, so we are obligated to reject what it says in certain places...
​The Bible "contains" the word of God...

2. Feelings are emphasized over facts

In Progressive churches, personal experiences, feelings, and opinions tend to be valued above objective truth. As the Bible ceases to be viewed as God’s definitive word, what a person feels to be true becomes the ultimate authority for faith and practice.

Comments you might hear:

That Bible verse doesn't resonate with me....
I thought homosexuality was a sin until I met and befriended some gay people....
I just can’t believe Jesus would send good people to hell....

3. Essential Christian doctrines are open for re-interpretation

Progressive author John Pavlovitz wrote, “There are no sacred cows [in Progressive Christianity]....Tradition, dogma, and doctrine are all fair game, because all pass through the hands of flawed humanity."

Progressive Christians are often open to re-defining and re-interpreting the Bible on hot-button moral issues like homosexuality and abortion, and also cardinal doctrines such as the virgin conception and the bodily resurrection of Jesus. The only sacred cow is "no sacred cows."

Comments you might hear:

The resurrection of Jesus doesn't have to be factual to speak truth....
The church's historic position on sexuality is archaic and needs to be updated within a modern framework...
The idea of a literal hell is offensive to non-Christians and needs to be re-interpreted....​

​4. Historic terms are re-defined

There are some Progressive Christians who say they affirm doctrines like biblical inspiration, inerrancy, and authority, but they have to do linguistic gymnastics to make those words mean what they want them to mean. I remember asking a Pastor, "Do you believe the Bible is divinely inspired?" He answered confidently, "Yes, of course!"

However, I mistakenly assumed that when using the word "inspired," we both meant the same thing. He clarified months later what he meant—that the Bible is inspired in the same way and on the same level as many other Christian books, songs, and sermons.

This, of course, is not how Christians have historically understood the doctrine of divine inspiration.

Another word that tends to get a Progressive make-over is the word "love." When plucked out of its biblical context, it becomes a catch-all term for everything non-confrontative, pleasant, and affirming.

God wouldn't punish sinners—He is love....
Sure, the Bible is authoritative—but we've misunderstood it for the first 2,000 years of church history...
It's not our job to talk to anyone about sin—it's our job to just love them....

​5. The heart of the gospel message shifts from sin and redemption to social justice

There is no doubt that the Bible commands us to take care of the unfortunate and defend those who are oppressed. This is a very real and profoundly important part of what it means to live out our Christian faith.

However, the core message of Christianity—the gospel—is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and resurrected, and thereby reconciled us to God. This is the message that will truly bring freedom to the oppressed.

Many Progressive Christians today find the concept of God willing His Son to die on the cross to be embarrassing or even appalling. Sometimes referred to as "cosmic child abuse," the idea of blood atonement is de-emphasized or denied altogether, with social justice and good works enthroned in its place.

Comments you might hear:

Sin doesn't separate us from God—we are made in His image and He called us good....
God didn't actually require a sacrifice for our sins—the first Christians picked up on the pagan practice of animal sacrifice and told the Jesus story in similar terms....
We don't really need to preach the gospel—we just need to show love by bringing justice to the oppressed and provision to the needy...

Conclusion:

Identifying the signs is not always obvious—sometimes they are subtle and mixed with a lot of truth. Progressive Christianity can be persuasive and enticing, but carried out to its logical end, it is an assault on the foundational framework of Christianity, leaving it disarmed of its saving power.

We shouldn’t be surprised to find some of these ideas infiltrating our churches. Jesus warned us, “Watch out for false prophets” who “come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves” (Matthew 7:15).

So if you spot any of these 5 danger signs in your place of worship, it might be time to pray about finding fellowship in a more biblically faithful church community.

The Internet payment company PayPal banned the website of Islam expert Robert Spencer from using its service after a far-left news site accused Jihad Watch of "extreme hostility toward Muslims."

Spencer told WND he was contacted by a reporter with ProPublica, a non-profit that conducts investigative journalism, and asked about the controversial Southern Poverty Law Center's designation of Jihad Watch as a "hate group."

Asked by reporter Lauren Kirchner if he disagreed with the designation, Spencer replied, "Yes, I certainly do," noting that for years, "leftists and Muslim groups with numerous ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood have smeared as ‘hate' all attempts to speak honestly about the motivating ideology behind jihad terrorism."

But the ProPublica article produced by the reporting of Kirchner and three others, published Saturday, presumed SPLC's "extremist" designation is correct, bearing the headline "Despite Disavowals, Leading Tech Companies Help Extremist Sites Monetize Hate."
In an email from "Ronita" of PayPal's Brand Risk Management department, Spencer was informed that, "Due to the nature of his activities," PayPal has "chosen to discontinue service" to Jihad Watch, placing a "permanent limitation" on the account.
Spencer told WND he believes the ban is a big issue, because it won't stop with him.

The chief of staff of the Iranian military, Mohammad Bagheri, made an "unprecedented" visit to Turkey this week, meeting with Turkey's military chief of staff and marking the first such visit of the highest Iranian military officer since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
A Turkish pro-government newspaper called it a "milestone," noting that such a meeting between the two would never have been possible if the countries weren't making alliances with one another regarding Syria and Iraq.
Since Ankara was forced to make amends with Moscow after shooting down a Russian plane making maneuvers in the Syrian war, Turkey has been towing the Russian party line in the Syrian civil war - and thus, de facto, in an alliance with Russia's ally Iran.
Yet the meeting was about much more -- more than the Sunni/Shia divide and more than Turkey's surreptitious support of ISIS in Iraq (more on that later).
Whatever the difference between these two powers vying for hegemony in the Middle East, a common ground between them is their absolute commitment to making sure the Kurds don't gain autonomy and establish an independent state.
The Kurdish regions of Turkey and Iran span the border between the two countries (and also include parts of Syria and Iraq). Such a state would necessarily be taken out of those regions.

Europe bleeds again as terrorists in Spain plowed their vehicles into crowds of pedestrians in tourist areas in Barcelona and Cambrils. The men killed 14 people and injured more than 100.
Spanish police are currently investigating a local imam for possibly having radicalized the terrorists. The imam had apparently been preaching at a mosque in the town of Ripoll for two years, but stopped just a few months ago.
The question has arisen if the mosque administration may have found out something about the imam and fired him, but never bothered to report the information to the local police and to clear the mosque of blame.
The day after the attacks in Spain, two people in Finland were hacked to death in another Islamist terrorist attack, leaving some eight injured.
We hear yet again the promises to root out the terrorism, with a warning from security agencies that they cannot stop each and every terrorist attack -- words that translate into the admission that terror has gone beyond the control of European governments.
Yes, there were candlelight vigils for the victims; flags of Spain and Finland on social media profiles; there might even be a "Je Suis Barcelona" campaign -- and then the long silence as if we are all in a loop, waiting for another terrorist attack..
We have seen -- and these are just the recent ones -- Islamist-inspired attacks in London, Manchester, Paris, Brussels, Nice, Berlin and Stockholm, all of the violence leaving scores of women, children and men dead, and even more injured and possibly disabled for life.
It does not take much common sense to understand that individuals cannot commit mass murder without any training, support and most importantly, indoctrination.

The Bible says a time will come when a global dictator requires everyone on earth to receive a mark on the right hand or the forehead (Revelation 13:16). Those without the mark won't be able to buy or sell anything (Revelation 13:17).
For centuries, Christians have wondered how this will even be possible. But in recent years, the rise of advanced technology has given us a glimpse as to how it might occur.
New technologies have driven endless speculation about what the mark will be. Some think it will be an implantable microchip. Others think it will be a visible tattoo.
Still others think it will involve bar codes or RFID chips. And on and on. The fact is, we don't know. And we won't know until the mark actually appears.
However, we can know this - the technology is here to make such a mark possible. To control every buy and sell transaction in the world, the Antichrist will need to set up a system capable of tracking every transaction. And thanks to modern technology, we can easily envision such a system.
Much of the foundation for one is in place. Electronic payments are already a way of life, and they foreshadow the coming of a cashless society. In fact, not only is a cashless society possible - it's inevitable.

What is going on in our country? Why all the anger and hatred? As Chuck Colson reminds us, the answer is as old as humanity.
In the wake of the events in Charlottesville, a national argument is underway. I'd like to say it's a national debate, but no one seems to be listening to each other. So, who's to blame for the racism, identity politics, and escalating violence and on and on?
Well, earlier this week on this program, speaking about Charlottesville, John Stonestreet got to the root of the problem. It's called the Fall.
"Understanding the biblical concept of the Fall," John said, "keeps us from finding the enemy only in the other, as if the problem is always outside of ourselves. No, as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote, 'the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being.'"
John is absolutely right. And what he said reminded me of a brilliant BreakPoint commentary delivered by Chuck Colson way back in 1994 about Nazi war criminal Adolph Eichmann. Why do human beings perpetrate evil? It's the Eichmann in all of us.

The government is converting these structures into hospices, providing care for the elderly in a country where 40% of the people are 65 or older. That is not a science-fiction novel. That is Japan, the world's oldest and most sterile nation, where there is a popular expression: "ghost civilization".
According to Japan's National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, by 2040 most of the country's smaller cities will see a dramatic drop of one-third to one-half of their population.
Due to a dramatic demographic decrease, many Japanese councils can no longer operate and have been closed. Restaurants have decreased from 850,000 in 1990 to 350,000 today, pointing to a "drying up of vitality". Predictions also suggest that in 15 years, Japan will have 20 million empty houses. Is that also the future of Europe?
Among the experts in demography, there is a tendency to call Europe "the new Japan". Japan, however, is dealing with this demographic catastrophe with its own resources, and banning Muslim immigration to the country.

At this particular moment in Earth's history - although the sun's diameter is about 400 times larger than that of the moon - the sun is also about 400 times farther away. So the sun and moon appear nearly the same size as seen from Earth. And that's why we on Earth can sometimes witness that most amazing of spectacles, a total eclipse of the sun.
I have previously discussed the fact that the solar eclipse on August 21st is the first day in a 40 day period that ends with Yom Kippur. But what I haven't mentioned is that the month of Elul on the Jewish calendar begins on the very next day after the eclipse.
Elul is traditionally known as "the month of repentance", and it is a time when people all over the world prepare for the High Holy Days...

The regional threat posed by Iran is growing, Mossad chief Yossi Cohen told Israeli cabinet ministers on Sunday, according to media reports.
The Middle East is "changing for the worse," the Hebrew news site Walla quoted Cohen as saying. "Israel is identifying a presence not only of Iran and Hezbollah, but also of Shiite forces, that are not Iranian, from all over the world that are making their way to the region, and our number one mission is to stop this."
The remarks, Walla reported, were made during a periodic briefing provided by the head of the Mossad to the cabinet. One senior official who attended the meeting told Walla that Iran topped the agenda.
Referring to the ceasefire deal brokered by the US and Russia last month regarding southern Syria, Cohen reportedly said that Israel's demand that Iranian and other Shiite forces leave the area had not been accepted.
Diplomatic efforts on the matter were continuing, he added, but "Israel's aspirations have not yet been internalized by the American side."

Dozens of future IDF soldiers from North America immigrated to Israel this week, arriving on an El Al Airlines flight chartered by the Nefesh B'Nefesh aliyah agency, hoping to do their part in supporting the Jewish state by joining the Israeli military.
The aliyah flight touched down at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport shortly after sunrise Tuesday. The new immigrants were greeted with a special ceremony attended by Israeli government officials as well as representatives from The Jewish Agency for Israel, JNF-USA, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael and the Tzofim Garin Tzabar lone soldiers program, among others.
Among the 233 new immigrants aboard this week's flight, 70--more than half of them women--will join the IDF after receiving their Israeli citizenship. The future IDF members will be known as "lone soldiers," the term used for those serving in the Israeli army without family members living in Israel.
Also among the new immigrants is Talia Friedman, the 23-year-old daughter of U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. She is a nurse and one of many medical professionals making aliyah.
Significant media attention has focused on Israeli lone soldiers in recent years, particularly after two American-born soldiers, Max Steinberg of California and Sean Carmeli of Texas, were killed in the 2014 Gaza war.
One-thousand lone soldiers from the U.S. and 3,000 from around the world currently serve in the IDF.
"These brave young men and women who chose to leave the comfort of their homes, and join the thousands of soldiers already serving in the army, are a tremendous source of pride for us and for the people of Israel," Nefesh B'Nefesh co-founder and Executive Director Rabbi Yehoshua Fass told JNS.org.

The alt-right. White supremacists. Nationalists. Trump supporters. Racists. Evangelical Christians. Is this a list of unrelated, widely disparate groups that overlap only on the fringes?
Or does this describe the inter-connected spokes of the same wheel, different in emphasis but not in kind? The tragedy in Charlottesville, which has heightened tensions and exacerbated divisions in our country, calls for clarification.
If you listen to some secular media, you'd get the impression that Donald Trump is responsible for Charlottesville and that those who voted for him are culpable as well. You'd also get the impression that unless you denounce Trump, you are guilty of racism and are likely a white supremacist.
And since Trump has support from many evangelical Christian leaders, you'd be led to believe that they are part of the alt-right, all of them racists and hyper-nationalists.
Because I was out speaking Saturday afternoon and evening, I did not post anything on social media about Charlottesville until late that night. By that time, my Twitter feed was lit up with calls for me renounce racism and distance myself from Trump.
Quite out of the blue, I was judged to be implicit in a racist cause because I did not speak out against a white supremacist rally quickly enough. And because I had voted for Trump, I was now an accomplice in racism and, by default, a member of the alt-right.
Many of you reading this have had the same experience, as if there was an explicit connection between Charlottesville and Trump voters, between racism and evangelical Christians. But is there a connection?
When I finally got around to posting on Facebook on Saturday night, I wrote: "There is nothing American about White Supremacism -- nothing heroic, nothing praiseworthy, nothing patriotic.

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has voted to advance the Taylor Force Act, which would halt U.S. taxpayer subsidies to the Palestinian Authority until it stops a "Pay to Slay" practice through which terrorists and their families are rewarded financially.
The international community has raised the issue because of the hundreds of millions of dollars the PA gets annually from Western nations.
For example, U.S. taxpayers send about $700 million annually to the PA, which then gives more than $300 million annually to terrorists or to the families of terrorists who die in a suicide bombing.
Now, the Palestinian Liberation Organization's executive committe has responded to the protest over subsidizing terror.
Its message to the Senate, essentially, is,"Shut up and give us the money."

UK's Flawed Solution to Prison Radicalization: Group Therapy

While much attention has been given to the military successes against ISIS in Mosul and Syria, the recent failures by authorities to effectively deal with homegrown Islamists has been overlooked.
Whether it is by downplaying the threat -- or attempting to come up with snappy-sounding strategies to deal with the growing list of suspected terrorists -- the West is struggling to reverse the tide of radicalization, particularly in the prison system.
The latest example is the UK's plan to deal with imprisoned Islamic terrorists by creating "separation centers" that would "...have an individualized care and management plan which sets out realistic, achievable targets, while also taking into account the complex, ideological/political nature of some of the risks that need to be targeted."
What a bunch of gobbledygook.
Keep in mind that the type of inmates they're talking about include the likes of Michael Adebolajo, who was convicted in the brutal killing of British Army soldier Lee Rigby, and Anjem Choudary, the bigoted radical Islamic cleric, who incited countless attendees at his Finsbury Mosque to jihad -- including "shoe bomber" Richard Reid. Choudary was convicted of providing material support to the Islamic State.
And what does the new care and management plan include? Well, one element is developing "positive personal goals." This sounds good -- until you consider that the personal goal of jihadists is to kill infidels, even if it means killing themselves as well.
And the method that prison officials would use to attain these positive personal goals is a "collaborative approach to expressing concerns and resolving disagreements." In other words, group therapy for terrorists.
And who will oversee the progress that these coddled killers are making? According to the UK Ministry of Justice, there will be a panel of experts, "including a psychologist, a chaplain, and lawyer" who will review the inmate's progression (or regression) every three months.

The ongoing purge of people loyal to U.S. President Donald J. Trump at the National Security Council, the main organization used by the president to develop national security policy, is part of a power struggle over the future direction of American foreign policy.
Trump campaigned on a promise radically to shift American foreign policy away from the "globalism" pursued by his predecessors to one of a "nationalism" which puts "America first."
He also vowed to: "defeat" Islamic extremism; "tear up" the nuclear deal with Iran; "reset" bilateral relations with Israel by moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem "on Day One" of his administration; and "direct the Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator."
Trump's election has set in motion a bitter power struggle between two main factions: those led by White House strategist Steve Bannon — who are devoted to implementing the president's foreign policy agenda, and those led by National Security Advisor Herbert Raymond "H.R." McMaster — who appear committed to perpetuating policies established by the Obama administration.
Since becoming national security advisor in February, McMaster has clashed with Trump and Bannon on policy relating to Afghanistan, China, Cuba, Islam, Israel, Iran, Mexico, NATO, North Korea, Russia and Syria, among others.

This applies directly to our Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries. If we try to “save our lives” by capitulating to worldly standards, we will “lose our lives” in the process.

More than 20 years ago, a fellow-Old Testament scholar talked with me about the challenges his seminary was facing. At that time, there was a dispute about women in ministry, and his school was receiving some pressure over the issue. But that, he explained, was minor.
The day might well come, he said, when they would to have to make a choice. If they wanted to remain accredited, they would have abandon the biblical teaching on homosexuality.
If they wanted to hold to scriptural orthodoxy, they would lose their accreditation. For him and his school, being strongly conservative, the choice was easy: They would lose their accreditation rather than lose their soul.
After all, what’s the use of being accredited as a seminary if you no longer uphold scripture? What’s the use of being recognized by people when you are no longer recognized by God? How can you train your students to stand fast for the gospel, no matter what, when you have chosen to compromise rather than suffer loss?
And what will you say to Christians around the world who refused to renounce their faith with a gun to their heads when you surrendered your principles at the threat of a non-violent educational agency?
In an article in First Things last month, Carl Trueman, himself a seminary professor, warned that “the cultural Battle of Waterloo will be won—or lost—on the campuses of Christian colleges. . . .”
What if these schools are threatened with the loss of federal funding because of their failure to conform to government sanctioned, LGBT activism? (For anyone following the news, this is not an abstract question.)

Two prominent US senators are raising questions about an American-funded school in Ramallah, which is running an extremist summer camp for Palestinian teens from around the world — many of them Americans.
The controversial summer program, called "Go Palestine," is run by the Ramallah Friends School, a 148-year-old Quaker institution in the Palestinian Authority's de facto capital.
Its stated mission is to provide Palestinian teens from abroad with "introductions to Palestinian culture, cuisine, life and work, and the Arabic language."
But in addition to traditional summer camp fare, Go Palestine participants are immersed in anti-Israel films, and lectures by militants — some with terrorist connections.
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) gave the Ramallah Friends School $800,000 in 2016 to make various improvements to its facilities. USAID also sent the school $700,000 in 2015, $900,000 in 2014 and similar amounts in prior years, through USAID's “American Schools and Hospitals Abroad” program.
The school is owned and operated by the Indiana-based Friends United Meeting, one of the major divisions of the Quaker movement.

North Korea is officially a communist, Stalinist dictatorship, but that hasn't stopped it from crossing the ideological divide to embrace Islamist regimes and, reportedly, even jihadist groups.
The latest crisis between North Korea and the U.S. appears separate from the war with Islamism, but there are 10 ways it overlaps.
The U.S. and allied intelligence services now believe North Korea has miniaturized its nuclear warheads to fit onto its intercontinental ballistic missiles and has the potentially up to 60 nuclear weapons.
This was seen as an undeclared "red line" and prompted President Trump to threaten to bring "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if North Korea's verbal threats continue; a benchmark North Korea immediately crossed by announcing it was considering a nuclear strike on the U.S. territory of Guam, where 6,000 U.S. troops are stationed. Another 28,000 U.S. troops are in South Korea and 49,000 in Japan.
North Korea threatened to attack Guam in 2013 and its bombastic rhetoric is practically a daily occurrence, but North Korea's aggressive attacks have increased in recent years including sinking a South Korean ship in 2010, an artillery barrage on a South Korean island that same year, a cyber attack on Sony Pictures in 2014 and a bold assassination of a political rival in a Malaysian airport using the VX biological weapon earlier this year.

Palestinian Girls Face Persecution For Attending Summer Camp With Israelis

Palestinian teenage girls are facing ridicule and hate for attending a summer camp for coexistence in the US.
The camp, which brings Palestinian and Israeli girls together, is organized by Creativity for Peace, an organization in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Since 2003, up to 20 Israeli and Palestinian girls, aged 15 to 17, each year have participated in the Creativity for Peace camp.
Photos of the Israeli and Palestinian girls enjoying their time together have enraged many Palestinians and other Arabs, who took to social media to express their disgust and outrage over the event and hurl abuse at the Palestinian participants.
The angry reactions to the joint Palestinian-Israeli camp in the US should be seen in the context of the Palestinians' strong opposition to all forms of "normalization" with Israel.
The Palestinian girls who attended the coexistence camp are being accused, among other things, of injuring the feelings of their people by "promoting normalization" with the Israeli "enemy."

European leaders are begging their fellow citizens to have children. But it seems like a "Do as we say, not as we do," kind of message.
A recurring topic here at BreakPoint is the demographic challenge--"crisis" isn't too strong a word--facing the industrialized world.
From Tokyo to London, people are having fewer and fewer children: In some cases, they're having barely half as many kids as are needed to maintain a stable population without relying on mass immigration.
This "birth dearth," as it's called, poses economic and social challenges to much of Europe, as well as Japan, South Korea, and even China.
The impact of this "birth dearth" is not lost on European leaders and their counterparts in Asia. They've gone to extreme, and even comical lengths, to reverse the trend.
Last year, we told you about the Danish government's "Do it for Denmark" ad campaign. Russia offered women who had a second child not only money but also "cars, refrigerators, and other prizes."
Singapore even went so far as to establish a government-run dating service in a bid to increase one of the lowest fertility rates in the developed world.

An Unintended Lesson In Reality From KLM Airlines On Homosexuality

A promotion for homosexual "pride" by the Dutch airline KLM doesn't quite click.
The Twitter news site Twitchy posted KLM's tweet showing rainbow-colored seat belts.
Two buckles are placed opposite each other along with two tabs and a buckle and a tab.
States the airline: "It doesn't matter who you click with. Happy #PrideAmsterdam."
Oh, but readers noted that it DOES matter.
"Outlasting the Gay Revolution" spells out eight principles to help Americans with conservative moral values counter attacks on our freedoms of religion, speech and conscience by homosexual activists
Said Ben Shapiro, "Um if you use the top two seatbelts and the plane has turbulence, you could die."
David Betz said, "That's a good illustration: as you can see two of those scenarios would result in someone's death in the case of an accident."
Their point is that while the airline may have meant it as an illustration of same-sex relationships, two buckles are not going to keep anyone safe in case of an incident. Nor will two tabs.
Only a buckle and a tab will work when connected as flight attendants demonstrate to passengers at the beginning of flights.

Are we on the verge of a nuclear war with North Korea?
It has now been confirmed that North Korea has successfully created a miniaturized nuclear warhead, and last month they tested a missile that can reach at least half of the continental United States.
Since 1994 the U.S. has been trying to stop North Korea's nuclear program, and every effort to do so has completely failed.
Last September, the North Koreans detonated a nuclear device that was estimated to be in the 20 to 30 kiloton range, and back in January President Trump pledged to stop the North Koreans before they would ever have the capability to deliver such a weapon to U.S. cities
But now the North Koreans have already achieved that goal, and they plan to ultimately create an entire fleet of ICBMs capable of hitting every city in America.
Right now, North Korea and the Trump administration are locked in a game of nuclear chicken. Kim Jong Un's regime is never, ever, ever going to give up their nuclear weapons program, and so that means that either Donald Trump is going to have to back down, find another way to deal with North Korea, or use military force to eliminate their nuclear threat.

Transgender Day Camp Caters To Kids As Young As Four

Children come from all over the world to attend Rainbow Day Camp in El Cerrito, California.
They come to this San Francisco Bay-area day camp from Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and even Africa. Parents are drawn to it because it's a place where their children can be themselves. In particular, their children can be whatever gender they think they are.
Rainbow Day Camp is designed specifically for transgender and "gender fluid" children ages 4 to 12, making it one of the only camps of its kind open to preschoolers.
Since the camp opened three summers ago, enrollment has tripled to about 60. The skyrocketing interest has organizers planning to open a branch in Colorado next summer, and parents and organizations in Seattle, Atlanta, Louisiana and elsewhere have contacted the camp about setting up similar programs.
Each morning at check-in, campers make a nametag with their pronoun of choice, where it's "he," "she," "he/she," "they," something else or no pronoun at all. Some children change their name or pronouns each day as if changing shirts to find the one that feels most comfortable.
The Associated Press quoted Molly Maxwell, mother of a 6-year-old boy now participating in camp as Gracie.
"Once she could talk, I don't remember a time when she didn't say, ‘I'm a girl.' Then it grew in intensity: ‘I'm a sister. I'm a daughter. I'm a princess,' We would argue with her. She was confused. We were confused," Maxwell said.

House Panel OKs Protections For Persecuted Homeschoolers

A House committee has approved a bill that would offer protection in the U.S. for homeschoolers who are persecuted in foreign countries.
The Home School Legal Defense Association this week praised the recent decision by the House Judicial Committee to advance H.R. 391, the Asylum Reform and Border Protection Act of 2017.
The bill would grant asylum to homeschooling families such as the Romeikes, who were under threat of being forcibly returned to Germany by the Obama administration.
A U.S. court granted the homeschooling family asylum, but Obama administration lawyers appealed the ruling, and it was overturned.
In Germany, authorities likely would pursue jail sentences for the parents for homeschooling their children.
Immigration Judge Lawrence O. Burman had found that the oppression the Romeikes faced is "repellent to everything we believe as Americans." But since the revocation of the ruling, the family has lived under an indefinite order of supervision, which prevents them from obtaining permanent residency.

Jared Kushner Is Right: There Is No Solution To Middle East Conflict

When presidential adviser Jared Kushner said in a recent private discussion that "there may be no solution" to the conflict between the Palestinian Arabs and Israel, he was just stating the obvious.
For nearly a century, self-appointed wise men have been claiming to have the solution, but every such proposal has proved to be a mirage.
The British thought they had the solution in 1922, when they sectioned off the eastern part of Mandatory Palestine--78 percent of the original mandate territory--and set up an Arab kingdom there, which came to be known as "Jordan."
You'd think that giving the Palestinian Arabs 78 percent of the country would be enough to convince them to let the Jews have the remaining 22 percent. No such luck!
England tried again 15 years later. The Peel Partition Plan of 1937 proposed to divide up the remaining 22 percent of the country. The Arabs would get three-fourths of it. The British would keep Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
The Jews' dwarf-state would consist of the Galilee and a thin strip of land running down the coast. Jewish leaders, desperate for a few grains of sand, were willing to negotiate on that basis. The Arabs, however, refused.

We are about to witness an extremely unusual convergence of events that many believe could represent a major turning point for our nation.

Six years ago, a teenager in Newton, Massachusetts -- Shiri Pagliuso -- asked her father if it was true that Israel tortures and murders women activists in the Palestinian resistance movement.
Then a high school freshman, Shiri had learned the information from her textbook -- the Arab World Studies Notebook, a 540-page volume so riddled with unabashed bias that it had garnered a scathing 30-page report from the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
Back in 2011, Shiri's father -- Tony Pagliuso -- wasn't yet aware of the AJC's report. But he knew outright propaganda when he saw it.
He contacted his daughter's teacher, the head of the high school's history department, the principal, and eventually the superintendents -- who all defended the Arab World Studies Notebook as essential for sharpening critical thinking skills.
They also praised the book for providing a "balanced perspective" and an "Arab point of view."
Pagliuso realized that he was being stonewalled, which got him thinking: If he looked at Shiri's other course materials, what other dreadful stuff would he find?
Determined to expose the extent of the problem, a bitter multi-year battle ensued that pitted Pagliuso -- who was soon joined by a group of other parents and Newton residents -- against a shockingly hostile school district.
Together, the parents and residents fought to get school officials to acknowledge their legitimate concerns, provide access to all the curriculum materials as required by law, and to pull the Arab World Studies Notebook and other academically unsuitable materials.
Now, in a new study by CAMERA (the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America), researcher Steven Stotsky carefully traces how these partisan materials -- many with scant scholarly value -- seeped into a nationally prominent public school system.
The 108 page monograph, Indoctrinating Our Youth: How a U.S. Public School Curriculum Skews the Arab-Israeli Conflict and Islam, is the most comprehensive analysis to date of the Newton curriculum controversy.
Piecing together local media coverage, transcripts of school committee meetings and multiple interviews, Stotsky recounts the key events, including the run-around that Pagliuso and the ad-hoc group of concerned parents and residents got from school administrators.

A quadcopter from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel earlier this month, and the IDF released a short message, saying a unit had arrived to take it away for checks.
The seemingly mundane incident is, in fact, indicative of a growing trend: the use of drones by Israel's enemies.
Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic State and other radical non-state actors have their own drone programs, each at different stages, and posing different levels of threat.
Israel is a world pioneer in the use of military drones, being the first to utilize them to coordinate strikes on the battlefield in the 1980s.
Today, Israel's drone technology is a global leader, but Israel's enemies have begun getting in on the act, and the number of remotely controlled aircraft in their possession is growing.
Tal Inbar, head of the Space and UAV Research Center at the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies in the Israeli city of Herzliya, told JNS.org about two types of developing threats.

School Officials Declare Playgrounds 'No-Jesus' Zones

A summit meeting has been called, likely as early as next week, to address a backlash after bureaucrats in an Australian state declared their public-school playgrounds "no Jesus" zones.
"It is hard to understand what is so dangerous about Jesus that the Queensland government has to ban children from talking about him, even at Christmas time," said Wendy Francis, the Queensland director for the Australian Christian Lobby.
"Are they worried kids will start living out the values of the Sermon on the Mount?" she asked, urging Education Minister Kate Jones to rescind the new pronouncement.
Jones' comments were reported by the Christian charity Barnabas Fund, which said she now is seeking a meeting of her education agency committee to discuss the issue.
Jones claimed school children are free to talk about Jesus or exchange Christmas cards, but Barnabas pointed out that "as the directives have not been rescinded, it is unclear what their current status is."
Paul Marshall, Lela Gilbert and Nina Shea have collaborated to create "Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians," which confirms that groups like Pew Research, Newsweek and The Economist also identify Christians as "the world's most widely persecuted religious group."
On Facebook, Queensland-born Ken Ham, the president of Answers in Genesis, which runs the highly popular Ark Encounter in Kentucky, asked, "Is Jesus not welcome in Australian (government-run) schools?"

The use of biometric identification is becoming a real-time case study in how the public is incrementally conditioned to accept the total erosion of privacy for supposed convenience and security.
As I've been covering over the last several months, a 15-year-old mandate from the federal government to implement biometric ID for airline travel is finally being implemented at various airports throughout the United States. 
A new program initiated by Delta Airlines at Minneapolis-St. Paul airport has automated baggage kiosks for "priority customers" that will first scan a traveler's passport, then their face in order to match identity to checked luggage. 
It was promoted as a "pilot program" that Delta launched to seek customer feedback in the hope that it could be rolled out more widely in the future. That program has now entered phase 2 at Reagan National Airport with biometric boarding passes for rewards members.
JetBlue stated they will "test facial- and fingerprint-recognition technology at two U.S. airports to replace boarding passes, building on industry efforts to increase security and ease passage through airports."
Meanwhile, countries like Australia and the UK also have airport biometrics programs rolling out, with Australia seeking to make it a requirement nationwide by 2020.

We've heard a lot about "fake news" this year, and last week we were treated to a flurry of fake news aimed at the reliability of the Bible. 
A study published in the American Journal of Human Genetics reported that DNA from 3,700-year-old Canaanite remains closely matches that of the modern Lebanese. 
In other words, a major biblical people are alive and well, still living in the region!
It was an exciting confirmation of the Bible's history. But for a dozen or so major media outlets, it was precisely the opposite.
"Study disproves the Bible's suggestion that the ancient Canaanites were wiped out," trumpeted the UK Telegraph.
The Independent declared, "The Bible says Canaanites were wiped out by Israelites but scientists just found their descendants living in Lebanon."
And ABC Online reported: "Canaanites survived Biblical 'slaughter,' ancient DNA shows."
Even the journal, Science, joined the debacle with the headline, "Ancient DNA counters biblical account of the mysterious Canaanites." 
Science soon issued a casual correction, saying, "The story and its headline have been updated to reflect that in the Bible, God ordered the destruction of the Canaanites, but that some cities and people may have survived."
"May have?" Uh, these reporters might want to re-read their Bibles. Or maybe read them for the first time. Because far from claiming the Canaanites were wiped out, Scripture records in numerous places that large Canaanite populations survived and thrived in the region.

Faced with doctors' growing resistance to assisted suicide, some Canadian advocates are asking, "What if we just pay them more?"
Thirteen months ago, Canada legalized doctor-assisted suicide, or as Canada calls it, "medical assistance in dying."
From the start, Eric Metaxas and I have said that our northern neighbors have placed their entire society on a slippery slope on which the "right to die" will eventually become the "duty to die"--just as it's happened everywhere else.
Nothing in the past thirteen months suggests Canada will be an exception.
Elderly patients diagnosed with cancer are immediately asked if they wish to be euthanized; "ethicists" strongly urge that the organs of the euthanized not go to waste; and policy proposals to extend the "right to die" to "the mentally ill" are now being advanced.
Notwithstanding this parade of horribles, there's one bit of good news: Many doctors who initially expressed a willingness to lend deadly so-called "medical assistance" have changed their minds. 
Unfortunately, the growing reticence of early practitioners to continue offering this lethal service is not because they now take the moral qualms seriously. No, the problem is that they're not being paid enough to kill their patients.
I wish I were making this up but, sadly, I'm not.

Most Christians Miss The Mark When It Comes To A Biblical Worldview

Labels are both easy and comfortable. Christian, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, born again. It isn't hard for a man or woman to call himself or herself a Christian, even a born again Christian. But do they really know what that entails? 
Two recent surveys shed light on just how far from Biblical beliefs those who identity as Christians actually are.
The most recent survey was conducted across the United States by the American Culture and Faith Institute (ACFI) and included 3,000 adult respondents. 
Rather than allowing the survey participants to self-identify, an important distinction from other studies, an initial question as to what would happen to them after they die was paired with a set of ten options. The response to this key question began the process of belief classification.
According to that initial question, 30% responded, "After I die I know I will go to Heaven because I have confessed my sins and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior," a response which identifies them as born-again Christians. What follows from that question, however, became a bit more complex and surprising.

A New Jersey township that was sued by Muslims for refusing to approve a massive mosque project is returning to court because of a settlement agreement that restricts speech regarding Islam.
The settlement required the township to hold a public meeting about the mosque project, but it forbade anyone from commenting on "Islam" or "Muslims."
A key tenet of Shariah, the Muslim law that governs both personal and political life, bans any negative comments about Islam or Muslims.
According to the Thomas More Law Center, which sued the township on behalf of two residents whose home is within 200 feet of the proposed mega-mosque, the settlement with Bernards Township "reads more like an instrument of surrender."
The Islamic Society of Basking Ridge sued and won a decision in federal court after its mosque proposal was rejected based on traffic and other concerns.
The Township agreed on a $3.5 million payment and a "public hearing to approve the settlement."

The Temple Mount--a site of significance to the world's three major monotheistic religions of Judaism, Islam and Christianity--remains in the middle of a geopolitical standoff as Jews described as "ideological" are visiting the Muslim-controlled prayer compound in greater numbers.
More than 1,300 Jewish visitors ascended the Temple Mount Aug. 1 on the annual Tisha B'Av day of mourning over the First and Second Jewish Temples, which were both destroyed on the 9th day of the Hebrew month Av, in years 587 B.C. and 70 A.D., respectively. 
The number of Jewish visitors in a single day Aug. 1 was the most permitted by Israeli police to enter the site since Israel's reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. Tens of thousands of additional Jewish worshippers prayed at the Western Wall complex adjacent to the Temple Mount.
According to Israeli law, Jews are permitted to visit the Temple Mount, but not to utter words of prayer. Several Israeli worshippers were arrested this past week for praying at the site. 
Members of the Jordanian Islamic Waqf, which administers the site, follow the Jewish visitors to ensure that they do not pray. Israeli police also follow the Jewish visitors to ensure that members of the Waqf do not harm them.

US lawmakers denounced on Thursday the Palestinian Authority's "sick" policy of paying salaries to terrorists and their families after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed the Taylor Force Act -- which conditions $300 million of annual aid from the US on the PA ending the policy.
The committee approved the act by a 17-4 vote on Thursday morning, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), the committee's chairman, announced.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the principal aim of the bill, which will now return to the Senate for a vote during the fall session, was to prevent the PA from providing financial incentives for acts of terrorism.
"If you're a young Palestinian, maybe the best thing you can do for your family in terms of income is to become a terrorist," Graham said. "That's sick."
The act is named in memory of Taylor Force -- a former US Army officer and veteran of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars who was murdered in Tel Aviv in a Palestinian stabbing attack in March 2016. 
The 28-year-old Force, a Vanderbilt University graduate student, had been visiting Israel as part of a school-organized spring break trip.
"This is a big day for the Taylor Force family," Graham said at a press briefing following the vote. "This bill will cut off all funding to the PA until they change their laws which reward terrorism, which reward people for killing a young man like Taylor Force. I don't want his death to be in vain."
Corker said that the legislation "will force the Palestinian Authority to make a choice: either face the consequences of stoking violence or end this detestable practice immediately."

A company in Wisconsin, Three Square Market, has introduced a "voluntary microchipping" program for employees, with just under half its workers participating.
The company claims it is the first use of this technology in the United States and proponents assert it will allow employees to log on to computers, access restricted areas and purchase food simply through the use of the chip. The company, which specializes in "micro market technology," hopes the chip could eventually be used in "self-checkout/self-service applications" in businesses like convenience stores and fitness centers.
The RFID microchips are not quite Orwellian. They have limited range of only a few feet and do not have GPS, so employees cannot be tracked. Officials also claim data in the microchip is encrypted.
Still, it's simply the latest incident in how private companies are developing technology which could be used by governments or by powerful interests to compile data on individuals, even those who do not voluntarily accept a microchip.
Because of concerns over privacy, several states have already passed laws banning involuntary implanting of RFID microchips, including in the mentally impaired. However, Chief Executive Officer Todd Westby of Three Square Market claims RFID will be "the next thing that's inevitably going to happen, and we want to be part of it."
"Eventually, this technology will become standardized allowing you to use this as your passport, public transit, all purchasing opportunities," he said, as quoted in the UK Telegraph.
Such chips, if widely used and expanded in their capabilities, could spell the end of personal privacy, especially if combined with a cashless society.

Hamas And Fatah Teach Next Generation For Terror At Summer Camps

Fatah -- the political faction that controls the Palestinian Authority -- is running a summer camp for children that is named after an infamous terrorist, an Israeli research institute reported on Wednesday.
The camp, Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) said, honors Dalal Mughrabi, who took part in the 1978 Coastal Road massacre, in which 39 people -- including 13 children -- were killed.
Mughrabi died in a shootout with Israeli police at the culmination of the incident. Until today, the attack is the deadliest terrorist event ever suffered by Israel.
According to an Al-Hayat Al-Jadida article translated by PMW, a delegation from the PA Ministry of Culture recently visited the camp, which is located in the West Bank town of Yasuf.
"Educating Palestinian youth to see terrorist murderers as role models is Palestinian Authority policy," PMW charged.
In May, as reported by The Algemeiner, the UN and the Norwegian government distanced themselves from a Palestinian youth center named after Mughrabi, after it emerged that the building where the center was located carried the logos of UN Women and the Norwegian Representative Office to PA.
The same month, a PMW report found evidence that students at dozens of PA schools named for terrorists and Nazi collaborators "aspire to emulate" those who have committed violence against Jews.

Palestinian Authority chief negotiator and secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat has a serious lung disease and is currently on the waiting list for a transplant in Israel and the US, according to a report Tuesday on the Ynet news site.
Erekat, 62, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis over a year ago and had been on medications that were effectively treating the disease. However, the drugs stopped working several months ago, and his condition has since deteriorated dramatically.

The Palestinian "victory" celebrations that took place after Israel removed metal detectors and surveillance cameras from the entrances to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem bode badly for the future of stability and peace in the Middle East.

To the Palestinians and many Arabs and Muslims, the Israeli move is viewed as a sign of weakness. In their eyes, the removal of the security cameras and metal detectors is capitulation, pure and simple.

How do we know this? Easy: look at the Palestinian response. Rather than acknowledging the conciliatory nature of the Israeli government's decision, aimed at easing tensions and preventing bloodshed and violence, the Palestinians are demanding more.
As far as the Palestinians are concerned, the controversy over the Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount, which came after three terrorists murdered two Israeli police officers at the holy site on July 14, is part of a larger battle with Israel.
We have reached a new level in this discourse: Palestinian Authority (PA) officials are now openly admitting that it is not the metal detectors or security cameras that are at issue.
Instead, they admit, this is a battle over sovereignty on the Temple Mount and Jerusalem. For the Palestinians, the real battle is over who controls Jerusalem and its holy sites. The real battle, in their eyes, is over the Jews' right to live in their own state in the Middle East.

Transgender Gives Birth - Now Womb Transplants For Men Are Next

Trystan Reese, a transgender man living in Portland, Oregon, has given birth to a boy with his partner of seven years, Biff Chaplow. Their son, Leo Murray Chaplow, was born July 14.
Reese, who was born female at birth, posted a video in March explaining his decision to carry a baby as a transgender man.
"I'm OK with my body being a trans body," he said. "I'm OK being a man who has a uterus and has the capacity and capability of carrying a baby."
However many transgender activists want to take the next step with womb transplants to enable anyone to have the ability to carry a baby.
Womb transplants are no longer theoretical since Dr. Mats Brannstrom of Sweden has delivered five babies from transplanted wombs, all since 2014.

Black So. Baptist Pastor Who Sponsored Resolution Condemning Alt-Right Explains Why He Is Staying
Texas pastor Dwight McKissic moved to bring his proposal on the "alt-right" to messengers Tuesday June 13, 2017.
The black pastor who introduced the resolution condemning the alt-right at the SBC's annual meeting is explaining why, despite the denomination's failure to pass it initially, he is remaining a Southern Baptist.
In a Wednesday editorial in The Washington Post, Dwight McKissic, who for 33 years has been the senior pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, responded to a New York Times piece by Lawrence Ware, a black academic and minister who announced he was departing the Southern Baptist Convention — the nation's largest evangelical Protestant group.
Ware said he was leaving for several reasons, including the group's stance on LGBTQ issues, the massive support for President Donald Trump and his policies within the denomination, and the hiccup that occurred in passing the resolution authored by McKissic condemning the alt-right and white nationalism at the SBC annual meeting in June. The resolution ended up passing with near unanimity after it underwent an edit and Russell Moore, president of the denomination's policy arm, spoke out in support of it from the convention floor.

Kings Of The East Prepare For World Power Status

Just hours after bomber jets from the U.S., South Korea and Japan swarmed the skies over the Korean Peninsula in a "show of strength" message to North Korea, China's President Xi Jinping demonstrated his own show of strength with an elaborate military parade at it's largest military training center that features life-size mockup targets, including Taiwan's presidential palace.
The parade was to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army and was overseen by President Xi Jinping who called on the Chinese military to transform itself into an elite fighting force to bolster the country's rise into a world power.
He said the Chinese military had the capabilities to 'preserve national sovereignty, security and interests' and demanded the troops' show 'absolute loyalty' to the party. "Always listen to and follow the party's orders," Xi told his assembled troops. "And march to wherever the party points to."
More than 100 planes flew overhead and almost 600 types of weaponry were on display for the occasion -- nearly half of which were making their debut in public, according to the Defense Ministry.
Attracting the most attention Sunday was the J-20, China's newest-generation stealth fighter that could potentially rival the F-22 or F-35 in the US military.
"It's evidence that it's operational -- it's a statement," Zhang said. "It will give China's air force an advantage over neighboring countries' air power."
Perhaps coincidentally, the last weapons rolled out at Sunday's parade were China's own nuclear warhead-capable ICBMs, which state TV announcers proudly called "symbols of a major power."

The debate over whether Islam has been hijacked by fundamentalists -- or whether the religion itself preaches the kind of hatred that leads to terrorism -- has been raging since the 9/11/2001 attacks on the United States.

In June this year, the head of the government's Religious Affairs Directorate -- the "Diyanet" -- joined the chorus.
In a speech he delivered in Gaziantep -- a transcript of which was posted on the Diyanet's official Twitter account -- Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez announced that Islam was brought to the world by Allah to correct the "distortions" of Judaism and Christianity. 
At the center of Judaism, he said, was "material, money and wealth." Christianity, he asserted, took the opposite, albeit equally "wrong," interpretation of the divine, as it "came up with an understanding that denigrated the world and deemed property and wealth almost forbidden [haram]."
The Diyanet was established in 1924 by the founding government of Turkey, under the Republican People's Party, after the abolition of the Ottoman Caliphate, as a successor to Sheikh ul-Islam, the previous religious-affairs authority. Canadian Parent Battles For Right to Have Birth Certificate Genderless

In November of 2016, Kori Doty gave birth at home in British Columbia to a baby named Searyl Atli. Now, eight months later, Doty is locked in a legal dispute with government officials who refuse to alter birth certificate regulations to issue a genderless document. 
Doty, who identifies as "gender neutral" complete with beard, earrings and feminine curves, also prefers the plural pronoun for both "themselves" and for "their" baby.
Doty was interviewed by CBC News recently. She told the journalists, "When I was born, doctors looked at my genitals and made assumptions about who I would be, and those assignments followed me and followed my identification throughout my life. Those assumptions were incorrect, and I ended up having to do a lot of adjustments since then."
The new mother went on to explain, "I'm raising Searyl in such a way that until they have the sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell me who they are, I'm recognizing them as a baby and trying to give them all the love and support to be the most whole person that they can be outside of the restrictions that come with the boy box and the girl box."

The chain of bloody events that took place over the last week defies both belief and reason. A series of unprovoked Arab assaults on Israelis, inexplicably, inconceivably and infuriatingly triggered a wave of international criticism of...Israel's defensive responses?
Israel's regrettable reticence
Of course, in a world where fairness and reason dominated the conduct of international affairs, Israel would have won wall-to-wall sympathy and support or, at the very least, tacit understanding for its position. After all, the security measures adopted by Israel in the wake of the murderous attack on its law-enforcement officers in the Temple Mount complex were neither extreme nor excessive. 
To the contrary, they were entirely reasonable, appropriate, even, one might have thought, unavoidable.
What could be more natural than enhancing security measures in the wake of a deadly terror attack?
Regrettably, however, international reaction was far from what should have been expected in an imaginary world of fairness and reason. In the real world, very much the opposite was true. The onus was placed on Israel to defuse the allegedly explosive situation that the threatened aggression of its foes conjured up.
But no less regrettable was the self-effacing Israeli response to the ridiculous recriminations, which merely helped fan the flames of this absurdity.

How Should Christians Respond To The Presidents Military Transgender Ban?

Some LGBT activists are lambasting Christian leaders for approving the president's ban on transgenders in the military. In their view, these leaders are celebrating an act of cruelty and discrimination, thereby contradicting the message of Jesus. 
Is there any truth to this charge?
In the words of Bill Browning, writing for LGBTQ Nation, "While their supposed savior was best known for his radical inclusivity and teachings to love one another, these charlatans are celebrating discrimination in the name of their God." (Browning was referring to Tony Perkins, Micah Clarke, and Bryan Fischer, well-known evangelical leaders.)
Other activists expressed their displeasure, although without the specific attack on Christian leaders.
Bruce "Caitlyn" Jenner tweeted, "There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?" (For the record, it appears that a more accurate number is between 1,320 and 6,630 transgenders actively serving out of a total of roughly 1,300,000 million in active service.)
Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, was stronger still. He wrote, "This heinous and disgusting action endangers the lives of American service members, undermines military readiness and makes our country less safe. It is also the latest effort by Trump and Mike Pence to undo our progress and drag LGBTQ people back into the closet by using our lives as political pawns."

Silicon Valley Censorship - Google's "Toxic" Test For Appropriate Content

Google's latest project is an application called Perspective, which, as Wired reports, brings the tech company "a step closer to its goal of helping to foster troll-free discussion online, and filtering out the abusive comments that silence vulnerable voices." 
In other words, Google is teaching computers how to censor.
If Google's plans are not quite Orwellian enough for you, the practical results are rather more frightening. 
Released in February, Perspective's partners include the New York Times, the Guardian, Wikipedia and the Economist. Google, whose motto is "Do the Right Thing," is aiming its bowdlerism at public comment sections on newspaper websites, but the potential is far broader.
Perspective works by identifying the "toxicity level" of comments published online. Google states that Perspective will enable companies to "sort comments more effectively, or allow readers to more easily find relevant information." 
Perspective's demonstration website currently allows anyone to measure the "toxicity" of a word or phrase, according to its algorithm. What, then, constitutes a "toxic" comment?

 Repeating Patterns: The Temple Mount Riots

Despite the removal of metal detectors at the Temple Mount, Palestinian riots in Jerusalem continue. Perhaps the situation will gradually calm down.
More important, however, is evaluating the reactions of several key actors in the saga -- and recognizing recurrent patterns concerning these events.
In the past, the Palestinian Authority could control riots. The typical case in point was the Second Intifada, which began in 2000. This was presented as a spontaneous outburst of Palestinian anger after the visit of Ariel Sharon to the Temple Mount. 
In 2001, however, the Palestinian minister of communications, Imad Faloudji, admitted that the intifada had been planned long before by the Palestinian Authority. All that was needed was an adequate opportunity to start it.
Since then, the stature of the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas in the West has only increased. In 2016, a large number of members of the European Parliament gave him a standing ovation after a speech there. 
This, despite the fact that Abbas made an extreme, antisemitic accusation against Israel about a rabbi who had called upon the Jewish state to poison the water of the Palestinians. 
Two days later, Abbas had to admit that his libel was false. The Palestinians had invented a fictitious rabbi.

French President Macron And African Babies: The Population Myth

Well, according to the French President, it's no use pouring money into Africa because Africans have too many babies. Yes, he really said that.
Since his election in May, French President Emmanuel Macron has enjoyed the political equivalent of rock-star status. In June, the cover of the Economist depicted Macron walking on water with the caption "Europe's Savior?"
But as the saying goes, "what goes up, must come down," and recently Macron's reputation has taken quite a hit. The reason? He publicly recycled one of the worst and most destructive ideas of recent history.
At the latest G-20 summit in Germany, a journalist from the Ivory Coast asked the French president why there was no African equivalent of the Marshall Plan, the U.S. aid program that helped to rebuild western Europe after World War II.
Macron's reply was what Vox.com called a "three-and-a-half-minute soliloquy," in which he spoke about the differences between post-war Europe and modern Africa. He also referred to what he dubbed "civilizational problems" in Africa.
Having already jumped into the hot water, Macron then decided to turn up the temperature himself. The monthly salary of approximately $3,000 that the Palestinian Authority will pay to terrorist Omar al-Abed could be a powerful spur to a pending US legislative bill that would slash aid to the PA over its "martyr payments" policy, a leading Middle East expert told The Algemeiner on Tuesday.
"This is definitely going to put wind in the sails of the Taylor Force Act," said Jonathan Schanzer, an expert on Palestinian politics at the Washington, DC-based Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) think tank.
Named in memory of former US Army officer Taylor Force, who was murdered in a Palestinian terrorist attack in Tel Aviv in March 2016, the act, if passed, will place severe restrictions on American aid money to the PA until it ends both incitement to terrorism and the "martyr payments" policy.
Al-Abed -- who murdered three members of the Salomon family in  the West Bank community of Halamish in a knife attack on Friday night, before being shot and wounded in the midst of his stabbing frenzy by an off-duty IDF soldier -- is now in Israeli custody.

Church Of England Affirms Transgenderism With 'Gender Transition' Service

In a landmark move, the Church of England has voted to allow a ceremony reaffirming a parishioner's baptism under a new name. These type of re-christenings for transgendered people were a compromise for those who requested second baptisms but were told that a Christian can only be baptized once.
A re-christening has the similar effect of inserting gender-identity politics into the centuries-old traditions of the Church as part of the latest move to liberalize and subvert the Church and its doctrine.
The Vicars of the Anglican Church will use the "services of welcome" officially to pronounce a transgendered person's name before God.
The Church has come under intense pressure in recent years from liberals who would like to see all rules and customs connected with gender either abolished or rewritten and whereas this may calm some of the clamor for a time, it will also ignite the conflict between conservative and liberal factions as it emboldens liberal Church members to seek further changes.
Chris Newlands, Vicar of Lancaster Priory Church, was the clergy member to propose the motion on behalf of transgendered people who are not represented in Church leadership.
His statement said, "I hope that we can make a powerful statement to say that we believe that trans people are cherished and loved by God, who created them, and is present through all the twists and turns of their lives."
The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of the change. The House of Bishops came down 30-2 in favor with two abstentions, the House of Clergy voted its assent with 127-28 and 16 clergy abstaining and the House of Laity showed 127 votes in favor with only 48 in opposition and 8 more marked as abstentions.
Newlands came up with the motion to propose the re-christening ceremonies in 2015 when he was approached by a girl who had chosen to identity as a boy after she had been baptized.

Call me paranoid if you like, but I'm simply quoting what Tim Gill, the foremost LGBT political donor says in his own words: "We're going into the hardest states in the country," he declares. "We're going to punish the wicked," by which he means Christian conservatives.
In short, if you will not comply with LGBT activism, be it as a minister or as a businessperson, you will be punished. That is Gill's goal, and to deny it is to be in denial.

On July 7, UNESCO voted for a resolution defining the Old City of Hebron and the Cave of the Patriarchs as Palestinian heritage sites. Before that, in 2016, two resolutions making the same type of counterfactual assertions concerning the Old City of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Western Wall were adopted.
And the year before that, in 2015, UNESCO again upended history to rename two ancient biblical sites, Rachel's Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs, Islamic holy sites -- even though Islam did not even exist at that time.
Three days before this month's Hebron resolution, still another resolution, reaffirming the Jerusalem resolutions, was passed.
The Israeli government reacted with indignation. It decided to stop cooperating with UNESCO. US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said she was shocked and that the decision would not be without consequences.
The rest of the world has remained silent. How come?
The July 7 resolution received the support of a large majority of the countries participating in the deliberations. Six countries abstained. Only three countries voted against the text. The resolutions concerning Jerusalem were adopted with equally significant majorities. The voting, tellingly, took place by secret ballot.

Palestinian 2017 Budget: "Huge Increase" for Terror Payments

The Palestinian Authority's 2017 budget shows a "huge increase" in the funding of salaries for imprisoned terrorists and the families of "martyrs," an Israeli research institute revealed on Wednesday.
According to Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), the amount of money allocated by the PA for payments to terrorists jailed in Israel rose 13% this year to $158 million -- compared to $135 million in 2016.
During the same time frame, disbursements for family members of dead terrorists increased by 4% -- to $197 million from $183 million.
Overall, PMW said, the PA is spending $355 million this year on the direct funding of terrorism.
Itamar Marcus -- the founder and director of PMW -- told The Algemeiner on Wednesday, "There is no greater promotion of terror then the PA's financially rewarding terrorists who have murdered Israelis. However it is critical to understand why the PA pays the salaries and why they refuse to stop.
The PA claims that they have a right under international law to 'resist' Israel and that includes murdering Israelis.
They argue to their own people that to stop paying the salaries to prisoners would be to admit that all of the prisoners including murderers of women and children are terrorists and not legitimate 'freedom fighters.'

Global Government: It's Closer Than You Think

Over the past several decades, the world has moved closer and closer to global government. Free trade and globalization have taken the world by storm. 
National borders have been relaxed, if not completely erased. And many people see themselves as "citizens of the world" instead of citizens of their home country. Have no doubt. We've been on a slow march toward global government for decades.
In recent years we've seen a worldwide pushback against this trend. Brexit, the election of Donald Trump, and the rise of nationalism have led many to think free trade and globalization are on the way out. 
Does this signal the end for a future global government? No.
Despite the recent events, there's no stopping the march toward global government. How can I be so sure? Because the Bible says it's coming. And the Bible has a perfect track record when it comes to foretelling the future.
The Bible says the Antichrist will conquer other nations and create a global empire (Revelation 6:2-4). He will be so powerful, no one will be able to oppose him (Revelation 13:4).

What Do We Do When Loving God Conflicts with Loving Our Neighbor?

If you've read the Gospels, you know that Jesus taught that the two greatest commandments are that we love God with all of our heart, soul, and strength, and that we love our neighbor as ourselves (see Matt. 22:35-40).
What do we do when there's a perceived conflict between the two and when it feels as if we have to decide between loving God or loving our neighbor?
On the one hand, the Scriptures teach plainly that allegiance to God always comes first, to the point that we have to side with Him even against our own families if they turn away from the Lord (in the Old Testament, see Deuteronomy 13:6-11; in the New Testament, see Matthew 10:34-37).
On the other hand, the Word warns us against hypocritical religion, challenging those who claim to love God (whom they cannot see) while failing to love their brother or sister in the Lord (whom they can see; 1 John 4:20).
James also defines true religion as caring for the widow and orphan as well as keeping ourselves unstained by the world (James 1:27).
Why do I bring this issue up?
Many followers of Jesus today are deeply conflicted over the issue of homosexuality, knowing that the Word clearly prohibits homosexual practice and defines marriage as the lifelong union of a man and woman, yet they have friends or family members who identify as gay, and these are people whom they dearly love and do not want to hurt.
How can they say to their gay friends, "I love you and I want you to be happy, but I cannot affirm your 'marriage' to your partner"?
How can they tell a terrific gay couple that these two men (or women) do not provide the best parents for a child, even a handicapped, unwanted child for whom they would provide love and support?
How can they tell a young gay person who wants to follow Jesus, "You have to be celibate for the rest of your life unless the Lord changes your sexual and romantic desires"?
Recent polls indicate that among committed religious Americans, the vast majority oppose redefining marriage while, conversely, among irreligious Americans, the vast majority support gay "marriage."

Palestinian "Economic Terrorism" Tries To Literally Uproot Jews From The Land

On July 4th, Tzviki Struk, a farmer in Israel's Shiloh valley in Samaria was devastated to discover that sections of his vineyards had been vandalized by Arab terrorists.
Some 2,000 grapevines were violently hacked apart and thrown to the waysides by the terrorists who infiltrated Struk's vineyard, likely on Friday night as Struk, his wife and their six children welcomed in Shabbat (Sabbath).
Aron Katsoff, a friend and neighbor of Struk's commented that these types of attacks are becoming more commonplace. Katsoff estimates that a large-scale attack such as this occurs approximately every year to year and a half. 
These attacks are generally carried out by a pair of terrorists who infiltrate privately owned Jewish fields, cut through their fencesand reap havoc on the land. It is likely that the same pair of terrorists is responsible for many, if not all, of the attacks.
Police forces trained in tracking footprints have traced many of these attacks back to the nearby Arab village of Qusra. 
Many of the Arab residents of Qusra are employed by Jewish farmers and know that Friday evening is an opportune time to attack a Jewish settlement as farmers are at home with their families and not tending to their fields.

Israel Prepares To Counter Iran, Hezbollah Build-Up In Syria

One of Israel's most highly-regarded national security experts has warned Iran and its proxies -- Hezbollah in Lebanon and President Bashar al-Assad's regime in Damascus -- that the Jewish state will not hold back on using military force to counter Tehran's growing presence in Syria.
Retired IDF Maj. Gen. Yaakov Amidror -- who served as the national security adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and currently is a senior fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar-Ilan University -- said that if the Iranians continued exploiting the recent Syrian ceasefire negotiated by Russia and the US to boost their presence in the country, "that might lead the IDF to intervene and to destroy every attempt to build infrastructure in Syria."
"We will not let the Iranians and Hezbollah to be the forces which will win from the long and very brutal war in Syria and to move the focus into Israel," Amidror declared on Monday, speaking on a conference call organized by The Israel Project.
Amidror observed that even if Iran was unable to achieve its much-vaunted "land corridor" from Tehran to the Mediterranean coasts of Syria and Lebanon, an increased number of bases in Syria for both Iranian and Hezbollah forces would still represent a profound threat.
"Israel should prevent it whatever will be the price," Amidror said, adding that he could not "see who will stop it."
"If that is in the interest of Israel, we should strive to be sure that our interests will be kept," he said.
Iran has already leased a military airfield from the Syrian government in the center of the country to station fighter aircraft, Ynet reported on Monday. 
Iran is also said to be negotiating with the Assad regime to establish a land base for Shia militiamen and a port in the city of Tartus.
"The establishment of an air and sea base and the attempt to permanently station 5,000 Shiite fighters on Syrian soil are not acceptable to us, and will have heavy consequences," Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said.
"We will not accept it," Lieberman explained during an interview with a Russian news outlet. "We insist that there be no trace of Iranian presence on Syrian soil, and we insist on this arrangement in every settlement."
Iran invests around $100 million a year in Hezbollah, which has enabled it to become the dominant political and military force in Lebanon with a sophisticated militia that more closely resembles a national army than a terrorist organization.

It has an estimated 150,000 rockets, which is significantly more than all 29 NATO countries combined, with the exception of the US. To believe that Iran would not use this investment to its full potential is simply not realistic.
